Hi, I have a question with the roms for the htc Evo View, I can install a rom for Flyer?
I do not need the data connection, just regular wifi.
reading other reviews I've seen say the only difference between the flyer and the Evo are the drivers for the data connection, hence my question arises
thanks
Nope.

Then you have the same answer as the OP and all the other people who asked previously.
People please use the search function, it is after all forum rule #1.
I was reading but it specifically did not find it, what I found was that the driver for 4G connection were those who made the difference, but as no data connection needed so the question, apologies if it was but it just did not find it that

custom roms for View? where I can find someone

Thank you,
I hope the honeycomb update or ICS will be soon
View development has been almost non-existent it seems. Probably because most people opted for the Flyer. But with all the View firesales over the past few weeks, I think there will be a lot more View owners. Whether that translates into more development is unknown, but it may. I just bought a View on the cheap and would be happy to see some more development, but I'm pretty content with having a nice tablet at a great price.

Has anyone else tried droid VNC Server on the EVO 3D? The video output appears scrambled. I'm connecting to it via USB and local port forward to 5801. This worked great for me on my EVO 4G, and I'd love to get it working on the EVO 3D as well.
Screenshot attached
noo....
mine is broken too -.-
I used this at work so my boss wouldnt notice me texting lol this sucks..
I noticed the same distortion with screenshot apps.
i have heard some people are having issue with it, i personally dont use it.. but i know there are people having the issue..
for future reference, this should be in the Q&A section..
What'ss wrong with you? You have [Q] in your title, you think it belongs in the development section or ummm I dont know, the Q&A section? Being new is no excuse. Read the rules, read the stickies and be a good little forum member.

Apologies, I will post any similar issues in the future there. Thanks.
Since it is confirmed others are having similar issues, I went ahead and posted an issue to the repository on Github here:
https://github.com/oNaiPs/droid-VNC-server/issues/20
However, if others are having the same problem w/ other screenshot apps, it sounds as though it may be more of an issue with the device than something being specific to droid VNC. Nonetheless, perhaps the developer may come up with a fix.
Same issue when trying to do screenshots in recovery with Ashot.
Even with the new updated ROM Manager, and with TeamWin's recovery.
Drocap 2 works fine for me. Plus questions go in the q and a section...

Any help here?! Looking for the functionality of VNC but obviously this doesn't work if the screen is scrambled....
...thanks!
same problem here on htc sensation. no solution yet?
This issue is caused by scan line length calculation bugs. Our vnc server has no such issues, VMLite VNC Server,

It also works on non rooted devices.
Hello everyone and please pardon my intrusion. I have a Flyer with GB ROM and would like to upgrade to HC, but that would strip the opportunity to make regular phone calls. Now I wonder, is Jetstream (HC ROM) able to do that? Anybody ever tried? In flyer GB you had to apply a little hack (think it was build.prop edit) and use corded/bluetooth earphones but something is missing in Flyer HC ROM, hope it can be ported from jetstream if you can actually call. Thanks for any report.

Do you know there is a flyer forum? And a thread about 3g flyers and GSM phone call function.
Speechless. Couldn't find infos about phone calls for Jetstream and you ***** because I asked here, in Jetstream General? I know there's a Flyer section, I visit that regularly, but since we're experiencing an issue with HC ROM I asked for help. Is that bad?
And FYI: that thread you mentioned is for GB ROMs, nothing useful for HC.

Hi,
I am a NOOB at android - the Jetstream being my 1st android device. Have come across some queries and was hoping that more experienced users and developers would be able to clear things out and may be even help us move further with our device - while HTC seems to have abandoned us more or less. To my understanding, getting S-OFF would enable us to write or mount any rom from any carrier onto our devices without the issue of having problems with compatibility, etc. Achieving root was the 1st step towards that. It would enable us to literally port another devices rom onto our device. Am I right?
It seems that Unknownforce and some others (sorry for not having mentioned them all as the list seemed quite exhaustive) have managed to downgrade their HBOOT to 1.50 on their HTC EVO 3D, and from there managed to achieve S-OFF which earlier seemed un-achievable with the newer version of HBOOT that HTC has been rolling out with their devices. Link is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695
So, want to ask/request anyone if they would know if this procedure could be applied for the Jetstream as well and enable us to get S-OFF? Could anyone please help figure this out or help point us in the right direction?
Thanks to all who help out.
I am convinced that the development for Jetstream has reached its end, if it really got going. There are two or three ROMs. There just wasn't a community for the jetstream to gain enough interest and momentum for ROMs and Mods. The attention that it did get here was due to the ~$1,000.00 bounty that was on it for Rooting. All all attention will be on the ONE series in a few weeks.
I use my Jetstream daily. Wish it had a better presence in the android world as its such a beautiful device. But, I would love to see more development, just not on the edge of my seat expecting it.
If we could get some people with the device to volunteer and work with it for some development, it would be really good. I for 1 am willing to help any way I can with whatever limited knowledge I have. As Task650 has the device, we.could perhaps ask him for help/help him out. May be if we could get this method of s off to work, things could change. Now that the device costs lesser also, it may be hope for change for the better.

We all hoping for it. If some dev could look into the method used to get the EVO 3D S-OFF and see if it is sound or would be able to work or something, may be we could move it further. I for one am a NOOB with no knowledge whatsoever about coding, programming and the sort. So can not make head or tail of the logic behind it. Link again is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695
So I PMed Unknownforce who is the creater for the thread I shared on the 1st post. His process for obtaining s-off as he said could work for an emmc device. I am unsure if the Jetstream is such a device but I think it probably is. Next, the hboot basically determines how the device accesses its partitions and is unique for each device. Hence, we can not flash the hboot of flyer or another device onto the Jetstream and try patching from there. He said it may work if the chip used is the same, but he wasn't too sure either. So, it means that we will have to figure out another way to obtain S-OFF. Anyways, we can hope that it will happen. And thanks to Unknownforce for taking time to answer some questions and trying to help out.

Does anyone know how to contact globatron? He asked for these pictures for a reason I think. However have not heard from him or anything else whatsoever. We can't pm him so any alternate modes of contacting him to know what his plans were/are and if any development on that till now?
He has been able to figure out new method to obtain S-OFF for devices. So perhaps it would work for Jetstream too?

I read about the "Juopunutbear S-OFF" at http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...ht-juopunutbear-s-off-most-htc-2011s-line-up/ and it seems that what globatron would be looking for is probably the pictures of the board without the overlying plastic. The procedure involves a wire trick. So for that, I think he would require a pciture with the back removed, the screws undone. Unfortunately due to exams I am unable to devote much time for the next few weeks. Could anyone please check it out and post the pictures he actually requested for?
Thanks in advance and hope that he would be able to do something with them and get us S-OFF.

Hi, there is 1 Lucky person with an S-OFF Jetstream - BIGMOH. Is it possible to know what the difference is between his and our devices and thereby work backwards to gain S-OFF for us too? I did PM him and he has agreed to help us out the best he can. Neither do I nor does he have much of a knowledge about all this. Could some developer please help us out? DoomLord? Task650? Globatron?

I Have had a lot of issues with the proper drivers installing for my new EVO 4G LTE and im the type of person that will do all the research for a week before I start the rooting/S-off process. I've never actually posted on any forums before but I found this driver update very useful and thought it should be shared with everyone that might be having similar issues. I am going to put together a walkthrough guide for others to use since I tend to run into every problem possible when I root/S-off my phones lol. I thing a guide with all the difficult solutions might be useful to some. Plus from reading others guides it might keep help keep some of the repetitive questions off of the threads.
So the updated driver solution I found is so simple anyone should be able to do it. I didnt have anything to do with the actual process, guide, utilities or research so I take no credit for this other than posting the link ---->backuptrans.com/install-usb-driver-software-for-android.html
I hope this is useful for everyone with Windows ADB Driver issues for Android / HTC Evo4G LTE devices. Sorry it's not a link. I have to do a few more posts for that option I guess lol. you have to add the w w w dot before the website since I am not allowed to. Maybe a senior member or Dev that sees this and thinks its a good tool to use can post an actual link below.

There can be:
1. You didn't explain your problems well.
2. Maybe there is not support for your phone model.

Generally if no one answers your questions it usually means that no one is able to answer it. Sometimes its because of lack of useful information or not explained good enough on your part.

Well I just looked through your posts and indeed you only had one answer, which you seemed to ignore as it was telling you your phone was bricked and you need JTAG to revive it. I can not say for sure if this is the only way but I can help you post more clearly to get the eyes of people with a similar or same phone
1, search xda for your phone model, if you find someone with it then ask your question there
2, find all info through Google searches, find OEMS website, look for factory images, etc
3, gather all info possible and post in one thread only (vs 5 random threads) and link any available information about your phone there. I know English isn't your main language but do the best you can
4, only bump your thread once within 24hrs, unfortunately your phone sounds uncommon so you may not have many people offer help, this is because they don't know
5, keep searching on your own for answers, often uncommon devices will have little to no support from the public
Best of luck (and keep your eye out for a new phone just in case)
