I have X10 mini pro with stock 2.1. Having no problem in rooting and installing CWM 3.2.0.0 R5. But it comes with busybox 1.15.3. When I update it to 1.19.3, I don't have any more access to CWM (pressing back button while booting). Have to install CWM again, which comes with Busybox 1.15.3... Anyway to install CWM, and make it work with Busybox 1.19.3?
Thank you

1. First you need to root your phone. The easiest way is by using Superoneclick:Superoneclick
2. Then you need to install xRecovery because CWM cannot be instaled on Stock Rom( I tried but with no success). You can use this: AIO Automatic Instalation Script
3. After that download this package:cwmr3_xrecinstall and put it into SD card
Boot into xRecovery and instal this custom zip.
This is how i did it and get CWM for STOCK ROM
I can't install(or run) xRecovery on my Stock rom,
The device is already Rooted with SuperOneClick, and have a root file manager, installed busybox, terminal and the AIO script, but isn't work, just install the dualtouch driver, the JIT but it says the xRecovery is installed as well, but when I reboot the phone and try to enter in recovery just turn on normaly.. I don't understand what happen.. any idea??
I did this 4 times this weekend while testing stock ROM again on my Mini Pro:
Root with SuperOneClick.
Busybox from market (with Busybox Installer).
AAIS from [Updated]AIO Automatic Installation Script For X10 Mini/Mini Pro-Firmware 2.1.1.A.0.6
Install XRecovery from AAIS.
Install CyanoComb (the version I still had in SD) that comes with CWM, reboot in CWM.
Install whatever ROM you like using CWM
Hehe you guys must have missed something.. I have done like 4 resetts with seus on 2 days..
Root then aais to install cwm and that worked for me directly.. No probs here..
Hello Guys, I finally rooted my Galaxy S2 today but when I tried to install busybox through busybox installer from the market. It says "problem with core utilities".
I tried reinstalling the busybox installer but still got the same results?
Please help me.
Isn't busybox installed automatically with root? You can check it doing SSH to local and type 'busybox'

How have you rooted your phone?
By flashing a rooted kernel, such as CF-Root, you would have SU (superuser = root access app), BB (busybox) and CWM (ClockWorkMod) recovery and manager app.
So, why don't you just flash the corresponding CF-Root kernel to your phone?!
Here is Chainfire's thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&highlight=CF+Root
He also described how to update busybox via stericson's installer app from the market.
Good luck !
I rooted using the Super One Click with unsecured kernel, when I tried to install Titanium Backup it was looking for BusyBox.
Thanks for the replies, I will now try them.
As I wrote on my previous question, I softbricked my phone yesterday when I installed BusyBox X and CWM recovery on my phone. I got a replacement phone and I am cautious on bricking the phone. I am trying to figure out if I did a wrong combo in installing these two things. I had this phone in the summer and I'm trying to remember from memory how this goes.
First I installed LGPwn and rooted it that way, then I installed BusyBox X and pressed the button that said install, finally I installed the L9 bootstrap recovery and rebooted. Then I proceeded to install 2 zip files, 1) Black Status Bar tweak by Mateo1111 and 2) Hide QApps also by Mateo1111. I restarted the phone and was greeted with the error of com.android.phone has stopped and encrypted/ reset phone. Did I do anything wrong? If so, please help me out!
The problem you had was actually with busybox. I had the same problem after I rooted my L9. I rooted and then installed busybox and everything seemed fine, I then booted to cwm and made a nandroid backup, then after booting back to android os, I was greeted with "Encrypting - Reset Phone" To recover from this, I booted back to recovery and restored the backup and then everything was fine. When it comes to busybox the L9 is very particular. Mine wouldn't work with busybox by stericson I had to use busybox x. If you tried busybox x and had that problem you might want to try busybox by stericson and install version 1.21.0 and use smart install.

Thanks for your reply! I did install the other version of BusyBox by Stericson and it worked flawlessly. No errors so far, and I have my phone set up the way I like it.
Awesome... Glad I could be of help.
Hi, folks,
I have pretty much wasted the past 3-4 hours trying to get cwm superuser to work.
I installed .314 UK generic firmware using FlashTool & unticked wipe data, then used TowelRoot v12 to root then flashed NUT's dual recovery but no matter what cwm superuser flashable zip I use I cant get it to work right, it always prompts me to use recovery install when I open the SuperUser app, tried that but I just get error saying there was a error installing SuperUser. If I disable SuperUser then install SuperSU & SuperSU pro from market I get root access but SuperSU has always had issues with AdAway applying the hosts file so I switched to CWM SuperUser when I was on .402 firmware.
I did have the flashable CWM zip file but can no longer find it
Really need some help with this.

If you're not on CWM, you can't use CWM SuperUser. Install SuperSU and use that. You can also switch to AdFree which is what I use. You'll also need to install XZDualRecovery to be able to write to /system.
Sent from my SGP311 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for the reply
I was using CWM superuser with no issues on .402 UK generic & Philz recovery, I have always had issues with SuperSU both on my old Galaxy S3 with custom roms & now on my Z2, most of the time with SuperSU any app that needs root access will freeze due to the delay in SuperSU showing the alert & as I mentioned above with AdAway not being able to apply the hosts file 90% of the time.
I also have Dual Recovery installed but keep losing it, seems that using the NDR tools app it installs causes the phone to forget that the recoveries are installed.
Just want some help with this issue & it would be great if someone could post a working kitkat CWM superuser flashable zip.
Can anyone else help me with this?
Have just done a full wipe & used Flashtool to install UK generic .314, have used EasyRoot 12.1 to root & it says I'm rooted. I then install CWM SuperUser from market & when opening it says the su binary needs to be updated & only gives recovery install or cancel options, I chose recovery & it reboots into Philz recovery & says it has installed but Philz says root is broken. When I boot the phone again I get a notification from SuperUser saying the binary needs to be updated again but when I tap recovery it just says there was a error.
Really would appreciate some help here as I need to get AdAway installed, change the DPI & use the nextapp kitkat SD fix app.
Cheers.
EDIT: forget it, got it fixed myself, now CWM superuser is working fine.
I re-flashed my Xperia mini with stock ICS (4.0.4) and now i can't install CWM recovery with X-parts from Play Store (Which i did before).
I rooted my phone BusyBox and SuperSU installed.
Can someone please help me?
