[Q] Bluetooth HDP Profile Android 4.0 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im testing HDP profile for android 4.0. I think that it doesnt works correctly because Im trying with Nonin 9560BT and it connects but it doesnt sends medical data to android.
The trouble is the next:
First, I init bluetoothAdapter and I getProfileProxy. After, device connects to android. I catch ACL_CONNECTED with broadcastReceiver. I ask for bluetoothHealth.getMainFD to open communication but it says Proxy not attached to service. Finally, device disconnected.
Somebody can help me?
Thanks.

Hi There:
I also have a problem about HDP.
I try to connect to HDP device, but just only can pair with the device.
I can't connect to it, I think that my adapter doesn't know the HDP service.
Do you know why I have this problem?

Hi admirty,
There's a problem with L2CAP opening channel. If you get FD you can see that value is 0. BlueZ developers fix this bug in new version 4.97. This will be fixed for Android when Android Engineers add this version to Android 4.0.

anyone have any idea if Bluez 4.97 is going to be implemented in Android 4.0 any time soon? or is it possible for one of the Devs on XDA to write a module for it?
Been waiting for some of these features since Android 1.6!!

[Q] Arduino Mega ADK and JellyBean

Hey folks, I've been trying to get the Arduino Mega ADK to work with two of my devices and so far I'm been totally unsuccessful. Both my Nexus S and Nexus 7 seem to do nothing with connected to the Mega ADK.
So, here are the details and hopefully someone can help out.
First off, I'm experienced with Arduinos and µCs. I'm 100% sure that I've correctly compiled and flashed the demo sketch onto the ADK. In the serial monitor I can see that the ADK will boot and attempt to get the Android device to do something and fails (it tries this continually unless a device successfully enters accessory mode and responds).
Both these devices are supposed to have support for the ADK and I've checked the devices and both have the correct .xml and .jar files for doing so. However, I'm currently running CM10 on both devices and I'm wondering if perhaps the kernel doesn't have the accessory mode enabled or if there's another stumbling block inherent to CM10.
Doing some google research I see that certain updates (4.0.3) have broken ADK support in the past, so perhaps it's just a Jellybean issue? Is there a way of checking kernel options or flashing a kernel known to work? I'd like to narrow down some of the possible issues here.
Hey mate!
I had the same issue, I fixed by using the library version 2 from labs.arduino.cc/ADK. You can download it directly from here: labs.arduino.cc/uploads/ADK/GettingStarted/ArduinoADK-beta-001.zip.
From what I've read the problem is that Android 4.1 uses adk version 2 and has some incompatibilities with the previous version.
Best,
Alex

I've been using that version and still get no response from the Android device. I suppose I'll have to flash stock 4.1 and see if that works, Sadly there's very little proper documentation on this and not a lot of people seem interested in accessory mode devices.

I got the same USB error. I haven't figured out the problem yet, but I was able to get another example from the version 2 adk library working with jelly bean. I think it was called termtime or something like that. It recognizes the phone the and will pop up saying theres an arduino accessory attached and there is no application to open for that accessory. You can change the example code to "Google" and "Demokit" to auto launch the Demokit.apk app.
I just got this arduino adk two days ago and only have one Android device, a Samsung Captivate with slimbean rom, to test it on.

how to patch Energy Android Smart TV Box

I have a "Energy Android Smart TV Box" (ICS 4.0.3, ARM Cortex A9, 512MB RAM, WiFi, DVB-T, 3xUSB ...)
energysistem.com/en/products/android_tv
The only way to connect to the Internet is through a VPN connection (PPTP), but it bothers me a bug in Android.
The error I'm getting in the log is as follows:
Creating PPPoX socket
Socket () Protocol not supported.
I found a patch for it, and the manufacturer provides kernel available for download.
Patch is here: code.google.com/p/android-x86/issues/detail?id=451
I tried to manually apply patch. I replaced some code in files if_pppolac.hi if_pppopns.h. But I do not know how compile kernel
I tried a few tutorials but failed. Please if someone has the time to compile or some advice on how could I do it.
The kernel source is here: energysistem.com/en/support?F=lgibeblbchbg&A=kdmiagjkkkeb&S
a kernel on which I tryed to correct code is here: dropbox.com/s/tzdk8472q8jeky3/kernel.zip
I also tried to install latest fw update, several alternative ROMs and several VPN clients but nothing worked.
always the same error: Socket () Protocol not supported.
The best would be if I could put Jelly bean on box. In Jelly Bean pptp works fine. Is it perhaps possible?
thanks in advance
please

Android Update Pioneer XDP-100R

Hey there, I use a Pioneer XDP-100R as a personal media vault, but in the case of 1 particular application I use frequently, it requires an update for continued use, but the new app version is not compatible with Android L or earlier.
Is there a ROM out there somewhere for this device? Pioneer doesn't seem to have anything new for it since 2016
Thank you for any ideas!!!
No. I am using XDP-300R(S) now.
Pioneer doesn't even release the stock flashable ROM.
