HI GUYS
Are there any updates concerning the 3G version release date
No, there isn't going to be a 3G version.
Just get a phone with wifi hotspot, saves you having to take out a data only deal for the TF.

I know this might be a dumb question, but someone in another thread said u couldn't do that. I was hoping to use my rooted Evo as the wifi hotspots. So I can....?
Of course You can, when provider allows it

Ok, maybe I am not getting the sarcasm here. But can I use the wifi tether on my rooted Evo to connect to the prime? Or is this a 3g signal and the prime doesn't have the proper hardware/software?
Thanks

Nope, you can use it no problem.
Thank you my fellow NoVa....lol
Lol, an Mcoupe posting in a BMW_boy thread....
I agree with what others said.
Honestly, no point in having a 3G version, especially if you have an Android.
I use WiFi tethering all the time with my T-mo Sensation. Speeds are ridiculously fast and with the screen turned off on my Sensation, I can tether for about 6-8 hours of CONSTANT use (like watching NetFlix movies) before the battery goes dead.
I like not having to pay an additional fee for something I already have. T-mo doesn't charge you extra for tethering. AT&T and Verizon do. If I had AT&T or Verizon, then I might be more inclined to have a 3G version. I believe both companies charge $20 more a month for the privilege of using something you're already paying for, so for another $10 more you can have it separate from your phone all together. Stupid greedy connection providers.

You can use it with the Prime, but I think in some contracts the option is disabled by Your provider.

does it really matter if you have unlocked hotspot ?
well then, i guess its a good thing i get it for free
My question is will this also be applied to wifi tethering..not sprints tethering service. We all knew this was coming...when are they going to remove unlimited plans if ever?

I don't think it applies to Wifi Tether and the likes.
The article says that the people who tether "under the radar" are safe from this cap. I can only assume it's people with other tethering options...

Doubtful. I wouldn't sweat it.
But still, This f*cking iPhone is beginning to piss me off though. It's not worth all of these damn cuts/adjustments.

The iPhone ? In reality the iphone uses less data then android as of know.android users are the one using more data , I can tell you that for reports that I seen and personal usage I have an iPhone and trust me my android device uses more data almost 2 to 3 times more then iPhone does

Right, it's just it's not so much the because of the "data" that this hell is coming it's also the volume of users, the subsidizing costs etc.

I ended up not getting a ATT SGS2 because AT&T chose to remove this feature.
Any idea if they did it again?

Yeah, unfortunately it will more than likely be removed. One thing we can work on is if the Korean LTE version has FM, because if it does maybe we can port it over as the Hardware should be 'mostly' the same.

Bastards! I should have known better than to not expect the worst from ATT (though I'm a willful prisoner of their unlimited data plan)
I guess the locked Note I preordered yesterday will end up on eBay. Totally regret not buying the int'l way back in October...
On the bright side, at least I get a free flip cover

Apparently, it's not difficult at all to get the int'l Note to work with ATT (of course haven't tried yet myself), but this guide looks pretty simple to follow.
[GUIDE] Getting your unlocked Note fully functional on AT&T (including MMS)
tx baaj. i have come across that thread...alot sounds like chinese to me lol. Jade knows alot it seems!
Most likely it will not have an FM transmitter. AT&T and Samsung's USA websites do not list "FM transmitter" in any of the specs.

Assume you know there are internet radio programs like TuneIn Radio?
So you won't get this phone if it doesn't have a fm radio lpl
Why does att remove the radio? Is it because data usage?

No, the fm does not use any at all. Att wants you to use an online fm service or hd radio so your paying for it!

So it is confirmed that the Note comes with FM receiver hardware... but no application to make use of it? Is it at all possible to get it working? I actually just learned there is no FM app... major bummer for me as I listen to radio quite often... and I'm not one of the lucky ones that have unlimited data.
On one hand, AT&T wants to throttle data so "everyone can have a pleasurable experience"... on the other hand, they remove phone functions which directly reduce the amount of data users require. I've been with Sprint for 15 years and trust me, I've had my frustrations with them. But AT&T sure seems to stick it to their customers more than any other company.
I'm not sure why this is a surprise. Samsung has been consistently pulling radio functionality from almost all of their US branded phones for quite some time. Though I've never really understood the reasoning, it doesn't bother me because I am not often in a position where my phone is the only source of FM radio and when I am, most often wifi is available, so I can use an app that my local FM station has out to listen to my favorite morning show (Preston and Steve on WMMR in Philly!).
Forcing you to use data doesn't make much sense to me since they have been trying to reduce network load for years now. If anyone ever finds out a real answer to this, please let us know. I'm curious.
so i just flash a note 2 to verizon prepaid its amazing for 50 dollars UNLIMITED you cant get a better deal than that..
amazing speed i was shock that hd youtube videos dont buffer when playing
i did speed test 1,9 to 2.5 mbs enough for fast loading webpages and watching video i also was able to do skype and ovoo
There shouldn't be much needed in the way of flashing. Root the phone, add in APN data for the prepaid carrier you're using, put in your SIM, and then profit. The phone already works on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US if you have a SIM, you just need to be able to add APN info, which you can't by default.

Hey guys,
Quick question: if I turn the portable wifi hotspot that is included in the settings menu of CarbonRom, will it charge my verizon account in any way? I still have unlimited data, so as far as I know, if I use the wireless hotspot then I will get the $30 charge. Can I use the hotspot in settings or should I download FoxFi or something like that to avoid charges.
Thanks.
No the verification is blocked. Having said that Verizon can see if you are using it if they want and can cancel your service for it. I don't know if anyone had had this happen, but it can.
By the way you can ask this in the carbon thread instead if starting a new thread.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the CarbonRom thread was the right place since it's kind of a noob question.
And hopefully Verizon won't see it too much. I plan to only use it about 5 times a year when I am in airports without free wifi.

I was doing the same thing and read a little bit about someone getting it to go but causing problems for mms. i believe it was deodex* only so far the mod is for.
So far Wifi Tether Router is working 100%. Anyone wanting wifi tether ability without paying $10 for all the other tether apps should but this $2 app instead works perfect.
i have bought wifi pda net in the past but it has never really supported the wifi part its always been usb tether. the price for this app was perfect for me to try it out so thought id vouch for its use on 4.4 kitkat update.
