Carphone Warehouse are the cheapest I have found for the handset. I ordered mine yesterday and got it for £494.00 with £35.00 cashback and I'm expecting it to arrive today.

Sorry turingstest, I made a mistake. the figure of £35.00 was an accumulation of purchases I had made over a couple of weeks. I only received £5.00 cashback.. I am new to the cashback scheme but I have just rechecked my Quidco account and they are saying £5.00. Sorry for the mistake.

I ordered my original TF from Frys back in June and they were one of the few online retailers that actually had stock... I'm thinking I'll pre-order here as well.
Just an FYI. Fry's have restocking fees (hopefully you'll love it and not want to return it). And the Tempe AZ store have real a-holes working customer service.
I just called Fry's. The good news is they have somebody answering the phones this late. The bad news is the guy said he has no idea when they are supposed to get the TFP in stock or when they are supposed to ship. He seemed to be looking through their system for an answer but couldn't find one.
I got a preorder in at bestbuy for the 32gb model also. Now on the bestbuy website it says coming soon instead of preorder.

Given that Fry's is one of the sites that is still listing a preorder, I find it curious that so few seem to have preordered from them.
Not saying our chances will be any better with them, but they can't be worse than a smaller operation like Adorama can they?

Thanks for the heads up about the restocking fee, I don't remember seeing that before. Oops. I don't like restocking fees, but I don't know if I can bring myself to cancel this preorder. Too possible that it's the one that comes through.

With the TF 101 Rollout, Frys was the first retailer I recall to get inventory on the shelf for local pickup.
I preordered my 32gb champagne transformer through Frys earlier today with 'Overnight' shipping, order status says "Order Being Processed".
Frys will likely get a good amount of stock the same time every other online retailer does. I'm pretty confident that they'll ship before christmas.

My Frys.com pre-order is now reporting: "Back Ordered" ... not sure what that means exactly, but we'll see.

Well, just about 5 minutes ago, J&R called me and told me that the 64 GB (Gray) will not be shipped out until January 2012 due to Asus suspending the shipment.
How is it that I keep reading on here that Gamestop would have it available on December 19 ? Why is it that Asus suspend the Prime on some store and not on others? Strange.

None of the "official" ASUS preorder sites took orders on the 64GB version... I'm wondering if I just shouldn't expect this until mid-January. No date in December for a 64GB version seem to be panning out...

Given that Gamestop is listed as an official preorder destination on Asus' website, and J&R is not, I don't find this all that surprising. There is almost certainly an extra middleman distributor supplying stores like J&R, Adorama, and some of the other sites folks have found to order one, but Asus' commitment is to their official preorder outlets, and making sure they have enough stock to fulfill their preorders.
I haven't received a call from J&R yet, but I figure I will. When did you order yours Earthbrain?
This seems to be the trend. Newegg still seems to be on track, as is gamestop. ASUS is funneling the supply into a more focused retail base, and seems to staying true to their main channel partners.
Certainly no doubt at this point that there is a huge shortage of this thing...what concerns me is that there was such a huge initial preorder allocation, and it isn't that they are running out of preorder slots, it's that the stock just isn't appearing in the supply chain...which in the industry usually means a manufacturing issue.
That is of course unless ASUS just grossly underestimated the demand.

Crap. I ordered mine on Sunday, and I got the 32GB flavor which you would think would be in even shorter supply. I guess I'll call them today.
So weird that it seems like my Gamestop preorder is going to be the one that holds up at this point.

I'm not sure this forum and those placing pre-orders is a good indicator for demand. The technophiles here may only represent a tiny percentage of the population. I think we'll find out when they hit Amazon or Newegg if they remain in stock.

I'm skeptical of the huge demand as well. I live in a small twin city situation with about 200,000 people within 2 towns 20 miles apart. Between the two Gamestops in my area that sell tablets (there are 3 or 4 GS's per town) there have only been two preorders. Total. Me and one other guy. I will be interested to see the initial sales numbers on this device. I think overall, to the general public, Android tablets have a bad(cheap) name. At the GS in the town neighboring mine the manager said they are about to quit carrying tablets all together due to low demand.
Don't get me wrong though. I think this tablet should be creating some demand and likely will once more normal people see it. I have just not been convinced of it's huge preorder demand as of yet.

They don't really seem to know and in fact got their colors wrong on initial pre-orders. Anyway, they claim they are a big retailer and that's true so they expect first availability. I think it is encouraging that they were told a date by Asus for their in stock date.

When my order got canceled on amazon, same day as everyone and I ordered on the 22nd also, I came and order at JR that evening using google checkout. They still haven't called me saying they've canceled. Any chance I'm going to get a 32gb champagne gold? Should I call them and check the date? I don't have much faith in this order.
Yesterday, I put in a preorder at a gamestop location. They say that they are one of the location receiving the prime and I was the first one to preorder at that location. They said that they didn't have any in stock yesterday but expecting to arrive before 19th. I think they only have the 32gb grey. I'll settle for that if I have to. Would like to get what I wanted from JR to avoid tax also, but not getting a good feeling. I've got so many stuff canceled on me this holiday I'm getting pissed.

absolutely... as a matter of fact, no one knows about the TP outside the usual geek crowds... i mean, there are no advertisements for the damn thing, so what do you expect, right? haha... contrary to that fact, there are all these shortages and some whack shipment schedules... some sketchy sh!t, that's for sure...

I originally pre-ordered on Sunday the 4th, but it sounds like they won't get any stock until the new year, no matter when you got your order in.

I wonder if the person I spoke with is misinformed? Or perhaps my order will be fulfilled by an earlier shipment than yours would have been? Now I'm a little worried, haha...

If it's important to you, I would hedge my bets and get in the car. The guy I spoke with made it sound as if the Primes in general wouldn't show up until the new year, not that my Prime wouldn't show up until then.
Can't hurt to hang on to your preorder, but I don't think you should count on it at this point.
Im not sure if this is true but it's seems that only people who chose the highest shipping option are getting their confirmation and tracking numbers, has anybody who just went with the free shipping get a tracking number? Or an email?
It went by order of "first come first serve." I ordered mine on 12/3 with the 2nd day shipping and got my tracking number on the 23rd. It's currently in Louisville, KY headed to Erie, PA. Should be here on Wednesday.

Expedited, not highest, and ordered abut 4.5 hours after they opened this up on friday, about 9 pm eastern time on the east coast, where I am. And got my tracking number about an hour ago.
Also ordered one regular shipping about 7:30 eastern time, an hour and a half before, no tracking number yet.

First, I know that you're talking about BB because I've been following that thread. Others will have no idea what you're talking about. BB's ordering and fulfillment is FUBAR. To the point it made the national news. Most likely, just like the original pre-order fiasco, many people that tried to order the Grey unit meant as a swap for screwed up Champagne pre-orders will get a cancellation notice. Even with the first pre-orders, people got tracking numbers only to have their orders canceled because there were no units in the warehouse to physically ship. With BB, you can't say your order's succesful until you see the package show in transit on the UPS or FedEx website. And after the first round of this, there's not going to be a lot of sympathy for people that subjected themselves to it again.
Seriously, no need to created another thread. Just post in the one of many other threads.
Just be patient, im sure they got hundreds of orders to fill and are doing their best.

but people have called best buy saying indeed they have units in... not to mention that they charged me money, last time every bodies charges were pending and then canceled. My money was legitimately taken from my account.

Amazon currently shows it with FREE 2-Day shipping, but also is showing it as Back-ordered already...

They probably won't be slashing the price of it the day after its release like they did for the Razr HD lol. I can't imagine how upset the people who bought it on release day must have been.

My card has been charged also, for those saying Verizon doesn't ship Saturdays you guys are wrong. They actually do it is very very possible to have our devices in hand Monday.

Card was charged yesterday, shipping info changed on site. No track # yet. I'm sure none have been shipped out, and won't be till Monday.

I just received my shipment notification. FedEx picked up in west Chester pa, and expected delivery is 9/21. I could walk there faster (only 50 miles) so I am thinking they are delaying delivery on purpose.

They do this all the time on a per order. I have been through it before.
I got my shipping confirmation too, mine said delivery by 10:30am 11/20.

FedEx grabbed mine from West Chester as well. Wednesday can't come sooner
My card has been charged, shows shipping date will be tmrw.
Its supposed to be overnight to me, so I'm going to hold VZW to having my phone in my hands on the 20th
Tracking number invalid
To me, the tracking number is invalid at FedEx:
"The tracking number you entered is invalid. Please correct it and retry."
