I solved the issue with using ktool and restoring my backed up EFS lucky I had my EFS backed up! Did so much to fix it when it was only a small download and a click to fix it I feel kind of stupid but oh well it's all fixed ! Root of the problem was when I removed the USB OTG from my phone I did not remove it safely and that corrupted my EFS.

XDA GENIUSES PLEASE HELP! Hard Bricked i9100

Hey guys.
I made a stupid error last night when I tried going from ICS CM9 back to ICS STOCK LPQ.
I forgot to wipe data and just wiped cache and dalvik cache.
The connection broke whilst flashing through ODIN and now I have a blank black screen and the phone won't turn on...((( (It does technically as when I try pressing the on button later on the phone would get hot - meaning its on but BLACK SCREEN)
I have tried taking the battery out for hours and putting it back in...nothing is working.
I don't know what to do...I'm in uni where I have fast wifi. Please help. Any advice would be grateful
EDIT:
Ok.
So usb jig arrived this morning. Ripped it open. Popped my sgsII from charger (fully charged I think!) took battery out - 15 secs
placed battery back in.
Inserted USBJIG. . .
. . .
. . . . BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH
Nothing....Still the same. No screen activity...sad...
only way is either JTAG or Samsung service center right?
I used to have yellow exclamation mark + 4 counts....but they can't see anything so they won't know right?
or did the usbJig work but just the fact that I can't see anything on the screen??
...sad I hated seeing noobs flashing phones improperly and crying when it got softbricked....well even though mine is a straight hardbrick i still feel sad....noob
update.
I've taken it to SSCentre on tuesday. I called them yesterday and they said they couldn't fix it over there and had it shipped somewhere else...is that bad?
it could take upto 2 weeks!!!!!!
I rememeber the engineers working on my friends Galaxy S last year and they didn't have to send it to somewhere else. (he had the soft brick 3 yellow logo icons) and didn't have the version where the download/recovery mode didn't work) The engineer just flashed it with latest stock sgs firmware (ignoring that csc was orange lol)
Maybe my flash was so impeccable I fried the motherboard? I'm one kick ass bricker....

I'm assuming download mode and recovery also don't work when the device is powered off?

If you can get into download mode then there is still hope. If you can't then your only option is either warranty repair of Jtag service. If download mode then works then just reflash using Odin.
You flash i9000XXJVU to your i9100 phone? So you need JTAG or do service. Your bootloader is totally dead

Didn't even notice that XXJVU was an i9000 firmware.
To OP: Yup nothing to do, but send it in for repairs.
yeah sorry not JVU LPQ (I was getting mixed up with firmwares)
Yeah phone not going into download or recovery mode.
I think when I press the power button the phone does turn on but I get nothing but black screen....(the phone warms up)
So shall I order a JTAG to flash? or take it to repair centre?
Will they know I've been flashing this thing to death? Counter is on 4 at the moment..... so worried!

Are u sure?
vol down+power+home button is download mode
Check it once again if it doesn't work...
maybe u can try some usb-jigg ?!
so you can come in to download-mode and then flash with odin =(

JTag is not Samsung warranty its a paid for service .
or take it to repair centre?

.
Warranty is void with custom rom root or rom counter above zero .
Will they know yes counter is on 4 .
Will they ignore it and put it through as warranty they may but dont count on it .
USB jig would be the starting point .
That fails you could go to warranty repair if thats rejected then pay for JTag repair .

if you have adb maybe you could try:
1. Connecting your device to PC while turned off,
2. CMD > adb devices
* If you see your device connected, proceed with:
adb reboot recovery or adb reboot bootloader
* If you don't see any device connected, try googling for qhsusb_dload driver for your device, and after you install them (and maybe a couple of PC restarts) repeat step 2
3. if you manage to get to recovery, i hope you have your nandroid backup so you could restore them.
my HTC sensation 4G had this situation few days ago, couldn't go to recovery/bootloader, blanked out when turned on and had fever
i fixed it using those steps, i wish i could remember where i got the qhsusb driver thingy from.. i'll let you know when i remember.
edit: it might work on S2, or might not.. i don't know this will help or not, but you could read adb/fastboot/bootloader/android 101, maybe you could get something from there

The bootloader death thing is not 100% true. When I first got my phone, (when there wasn't any rom for it) I tried flashing a I9000 rom. I was so stupid and luckily it didn't break my phone. After the flashing it turned on and stayed on bootlogo.
It was a miracle for me!

you should have tried download mode blindly first. as i have flashed once blindly and it fixed my all dead screen.

[Q] Simcard / wifi issue

Hey, so the other day I dropped my phone and it was still working fine until it ran out of battery.. I came home charged it and turned it on.. it wouldn't get past the samsung screen and I decided after trying to flash different roms on it to take it into a phone store to fix it.. they eventually got it booted but now the simcard wont register.. they ordered a new simcard reader part to see if that'll fix it and that doesn't work.
I also can't even connect to my wifi, Is this hardware or is my phone bricked or something?
Why not Odin flash factory image and go from there.
I think the flash was not successful and it deleted your efs file and the only way to fix this is by jtag box
Go to a samsung shop(or whatever they call it) and let them fix it .

nope he can recouver the IMEI without the jtag or samsung shop just google it and youll find somthing.
EFS has nothing to do with the WiFi.
Personally as you have no warranty i would try flashing a stock rom via Odin first .

[Q] soft brick or hard brick ????

After Flashing Latest CM10.1 to my S3 and using it for a while, I wanted to go back to stock. I flashed stock 4.1.2, rooted it and installed CWM successfully. After a while I noticed that CWM can not mount internal SD card, or recover a nandroid backup from it. I thought it is a partition issue, so i have decided to flash GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit to my S3 with re-paration checked. ODIN started the process, Pass appeared with green background. Since then, the device wont start in any mode. I tried every key combination with no luck. Tried to connect the device to pc, same result; device is dead. Pulling battery also did not work.Anything I can do to turn on the device in to download mode at least? Please help me. I do not have warranty.
if the thing won't boot up at all the motherboard is dead and since u don't have warranty time to get generous with your pocket rhese things ain't cheap

[Q] Mega 5.8 wont connect to Laptop

Hi guys,
I have a Galaxy Mega 5.8 which i got about 7 months back. im on stock 4.2.2 rooted through odin and have deleted most of the samsung bloatwares ( and others which i dont really need). Phone seemed to work fine for about two months until three weeks ago while it was plugged up to my system, it suddenly rebooted and since then the laptop cant connect to it.
I cant return it to samsung for a fix since id need to reinstall stock firmware which involves connecting the phone to the laptop and odin is not detecting the device either. I've deleted touchwiz and a host of other apps so my phone doesnt look like the regular Samsung anymore.
A friend recommended doing a factory reset but i had a helluva time getting it to work cos there was no launcher attached ( since touchwiz has been deleted prior to the reset).
would have loved to return it to samsung but device status shows custom.:crying:
is there anyway i can get my darling device to connect to the laptop again? anyone out there with a similar problem or fix?
thanks

Good news.. thanks y'all
Well.. By stroke of luck or just plain ingenuity.. Phone is back working...
What i did.
1. Factory reset.. Didnt work.
2. Changed different ports even usb cords (been using my blackberry ever since because its longer than the samsung ) samsung too didnt work
3. Read somewhere dat the internal port on the phone may be corroded so i Removed the battery cleaned it the internal usb port out with a needle, and brushed with toothpick (chew the end point till it becomes brush-like)
4. Applied nail polish to it using the toothpick in stage 3
5. Left it for about 5 mins to dry out
6. Replaced battery and later tried it out.
it worked.. But some times i need to remove and reinstert the cable again..
Restored stock apps and re rooted
N.b that was just the way i went about it.. Worked for me and hopefully urs too..
Thank u

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 SnapDragon completely Dead

Hi,
I've bricked my Redmi Note 3 SP while I was restoring a CM backup via TWRP. I think I probably restored an erroneous partition.
At first, I was able to enter Fastboot, but my PC wasn't recognizing it (Power surge problem) and I had no one else available at the moment to test.
Probably my phone lost all the battery and now it is completely dead. I think I'm being unable to charge it.
I tried I lot of tutorials but my phone is still bricked. I have only not tested the pin test solution as I'm uncomfortable about it.
I tried this steps, but it is still not being recognized by my pc: http://en.miui.com/thread-274589-1-1.html
Anyone else with the same problem?
you can try the deep flash cable method first if you are uneasy about opening the phone up (never tried but I've heard this is what the service centers use)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmdrj4uX7gY
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0tDN20BWj-aeERBczg3QjQtUzA/view
I've opened the phone cover and unplugged the battery and usb as required in the tutorial I posted. But it isn't working.

do it properly, it absolutely works fine, did you unlocked your boot loader unofficially..? if it so, then it will not work.
Deep flash cable is the best method for you,

I've unlocked my phone officially, but it appears to be really dead.
Phone just heats but I don't see any sign it is charging or connected to pc.

if you unable to enter EDL by any means, take it to the service centre, i hope its not old than a year,
I have my phone for just a few months, but I'm afraid they could not to repair it as it happened cause of mistake made by me.
I will try to find someone who had the same problem I'm facing and had resolved it a few more days.

Had the same issue as yours, tried everything, nothing worked.
Finally had to go to service center, turned out that my motherboard was dead.
Motherboard will arrive in some 15-20 days, till then i have the phone in my drawer.
They said they will replace it as soon as it arrives, just have to wait now, it has already been 10-12 days!
How did it happened to you? It happens while you are using your phone normally, or after a wrong flash as with me?

no it is with them i will inform you once i get it
I've already received the phone from the (unofficial) service center.
They just reinstalled all the software of the phone, probably using the method of the pin test.
