I cannot figure out why my Flyer reverts to reporting that it is in Darien, CT whenever it does not have a WiFi or GPS signal.
Even if the device has recently locked in my actual location, it will go back to reporting I'm in Darien (note: I have never been there with the device) when it loses the GPS signal or is no longer connected to my Wifi Router (router's location is registered).
I am using the official HC release from Globatron.
Anyone know what's causing this? Is there a way to change the default location?
Thanks!

Has anyone else had the same problem wig their flyer where it keeps dropping the wi fi connection.
I have a legend number of other devices connected to my network including android phones and an iPad and no others have the same problem.

I have same issue. I tested device on different WiFi routers. I think the problem only with old WiFi routers. With routers that support WiFi n standard I don't have this problem.

I don't think that is the issue as I have a fairly new draytec router with b, g and n mixed mode and all other devices connected to it are fine
I have the same problem with my router. Happens everywhere - on my wireless G router at home and on Wireless-N at work. I have both power saver and sleep mode disabled. (though I don't think either setting was causing the problem.)
I flashed my flyer with honeycomb and the problem went away. It only happened with the gingerbread build
If your signal is good then there is an issue with Android's handling of DHCP (not specific to Flyer or HTC) that you might run into on certain setups. One way of fixing this is to establish a static IP for your device on your network. Of course if you do not control the router, you can't do that but at home you can. read this for information on the issue. http://www.net.princeton.edu/android/android-stops-renewing-lease-keeps-using-IP-address-11236.html
This issue keeps popping up across the board on android tablets because they are often on wifi, more than phones.
I don't know why, but if I switchoff 3G network when use WiFi connection, WiFi works fine. Try this.
Solution
I feel foolish. I had been looking under power settings, but the setting that fixed this issue for me was under Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi settings -> Menu Button -> Advanced -> Wi-Fi sleep policy. By default on my Best Buy Wi-Fi only Flyer this is set to "After 15 min".
This was a real pain, because email doesn't push in the background and when you wake the device, it has to reconnect, then sync every time. Switching this setting to "Never" has really improved my day to day use of this device.
Hi. Since upgrading to KK5 or later roms/kernels, I've had big problems with connecting to PEAP-authenticated wireless networks. Initially I was unable to connect to them at all, but after installing the wpa supplicant fix, this was sorted.
However, I now have problems moving between different access points with the same ssid and with the same authentication. Previously, on KK2 and earlier, every time I moved to an area with a signal for this ssid, my wifi would connect automatically. Now, I often need to disable and re-enable wifi in order to get connected.
Further (and I'm less sure about this one) I seem to get larger battery drain when connected to these networks, and (possibly) moving around between them.
Does anyone have any suggestions about either of these problems? The first one is the more annoying. Thanks in advance.
I have some doubts because I have a gps connection problems, and when it finds satellites and connects the lost, lost power while driving as if entering a tunnel, and the time to find satellites again, I changed the file gps.conf, used gps status, gps test, aids gps and wifi coverage itself is not very powerful, I tried 7.13.35.05 and 7.13.35.13 radios, which are the last 2 and the same problem.
The rom installed is the latest update-cm-7-20120426-nightly-legend and is supposed to solve the problem and the file is already added gps.conf, but I think the problem is with the cm7.
That way I have to fix it? Changing kernel?
I have been in possession of htc desire, and when changing a radio coverage issues, gps and wifi also be changed and usually sterile solved,

Edit: I put screenshot so you can see it finds satellites but it does not start very strong and gps
Could anybody help me to fix my gps?
It wont show me my location unless i am connected to wifi
I have been lost in Singapore quite some times because of this now
Hey everyone, I got myself a Z2 recently and have been very happy about it for the most part. However, some things seem to not function a 100% the way it's supposed to.
Some times after it's been to sleep and I try browsing online with it using either 3g/4g or wifi the phone says it has a connection, but nothing loads. All I have to do to solve this is to refresh the wifi/3g connection manually, and then it works. It's rather annoying to always go through that procedure every time I want to use my phone, so I'm wondering is there anything I can do about this? Or anyone experienced anything similar?

I have the same issue with WiFi while the phone sleeps or is active (no probs with mobile data though!), but I was not able to determine whether it's my router, the phone, or a combination of the two (though I have a hunch).
When I'm in my room which is unfortunately the farthest from the router, and the connection drops, my Z2 is not able to reconnect on its own. Have to disable/enable WiFi or else it's stuck in an infinite loop of connecting and obtaining an IP.
Now, I'm fine with a dropping connection occasionally given the distance and the... quality of my router. However, my laptop is able to reconnect automatically.
I have tried lots of possible solutions: WiFi sleep policy, static IP or DHCP, disabling/enabling WiFi optimisation or Auto-IP, switching WiFi channels, and various WiFi fixer apps. Nothing worked.
My guess? There is a bug in the stock firmware that makes the phone unable to reconnect if a connection is forcibly dropped . Pair this with a crappy router and you have a recipe for inconvenience.
Unfortunately, I have no spare router to confirm this, and with the bugs in CyanogenMod I am reluctant to flash for now.
Also, I am sure this is not a hardware fault of the phone in my case since I notice this behaviour at home in my network only.
Do you guys possibly know where I could find some logs related WiFi? I wanna get to the bottom of this.
