Battery Calibration - Motorola Photon 4G

Does anyone know the best way to reset the battery stats on this device? My phone was down to about 70% and it lost that 30% in less than 2 hours of moderate use. Then after being plugged into my computer for fifteen minutes of internet browsing, its back at 100% and seems to drain at a slower rate (my phone seems to generally get a "better" charge when its plugged in overnight to my computer vs the Motorola charger, for that matter). I didn't pay much attention to it at first but now I'm noticing a pattern. Also recently installed a stable joker kernal but i find it hard to believe im the only one having issues with that. Has anyone had similar experiences or anyone have suggestions?

I know about that. Doesn't look any different than before the oddness started as far as app usage is concerned.

That's probably the "in pocket" setting (its a system app) running in the background that allows the phone to detect when it is in a pocket. I have it disabled.

can it be reset? my biggest gripe is that it still turns off randomly!

I think there is a way to delete the battery stats via the diagnostics from the bootloader somewhere...

If you have CWM you can go to advanced and click wipe battery stats (Make sure your phone is fully charged tho)

Just checked the option is also listed in the bootstrap recovery.. As to if it works? I cannot confirm but it is worth checking out...

Radio question
I'm about to flash the MR2 radio and try out the BAMF Sense 3.0 ROM. I went through all of the normal backup steps. If I decide that I want to go back, do I need to flash the old radio before restoring my backup, or will that happen as part of the backup?
No keyboard?
Just flashed the MR2 radio and the the ROM to my Thunderbolt. Everything seemed to go fine, but once I got into the pone setup, I had no keyboard. I couldn't set up my Google account, so I bypassed it to get into everything else, and still no keyboard comes up for ANY text input field. Any suggestions?
I'm trying to re-wipe and re-flash now to see if that might help.
Edit: re-flashing seemed to do the trick. Here we go!
So I'm at 2.5 hours at 78% battery. 22 percent in 2.5 hours is a little unsettling. I'm on new leak radio, on 4G, with whatever kernel came with RC4.
77% now that I'm finished writing this.

Your picture is too small, but to update from my last post my phone is now completely dead.
So we'll say I got 9 hours out of my phone from 100% to dead. <-This is the reason I went to the iPhone originally :/
Although this was on 4G ALL day..I'll give it another day..tomorrow I'll rock it ONLY on 3g and see if I can stretch another half hour out of it.

Just got my ATRIX - what do you recommend I do now :)

To be honest, if you got it from AT&T, I would wait the 30 days before unlocking the bootloader. Test out the phone and see if you like it and see if you would rather have the Atrix 2 with the bigger screen and 8mp camera (no tegra 2 though) or another phone.

I would recommend this as well. Just to be safe.
Otherwise I use Darkside 4.4 and the 2.3.6 Webtop with Firefox 8. Both are found in the development thread in separate threads.
Darkside 4.4 with 2.3.6 webtop works best for me as I haven't found anything better yet.
If cyanogen had working webtop I'd be using that though, but at least they have the fingerprint sensor working.
I saw someone mention the Atrix 2, and I think that the lack of fingerprint scanner kind of sucks, but 8MP is nice I'm sure. Also the original lapdock is better than the new one IMO because of screen size and thickness, although it does take up more area. Not to mention the bottom of the phone is not obfuscated when it's sitting on it with the lid closed as just a regular dock.
I bought the phone off ebay so not too worried about the bootloader.
I just want a rom that works great with the laptop dock.
I will try Ninja and darkside.
Thanks again.

I don't know about using the dock station, but here Aura Rom is working pretty well. It's fast, very stable and everything works good. Battery life is booster and I think WiFi is also boosted. I've already tried CM7 and still think it will be the best rom for Atrix, but it's not stable so far. That's why I recommend Aura.
I will check it out. Thanks.

Now with the alien rom or any other roms can you use the lapdock without wifi or a data plan with tethering?

i'll get through the day today without charging and moderate use. maybe an hour on the phone. watched half of thor on netflix and read about six chapters of a book on amazon app. it came off the charger around 10am today and will run out around 2-3am im guessing.
**** is snappy man. love it
the trick is to make sure you always charge with the charger the phone comes with to make sure your note is going into deep sleep. besides it only hits 1.9ghz when it needs to. it doesn't run at that speed constantly although you could force it to if you wanted but that would surely eat the battery alive and i'd be scared of frying the processor

[FIX][ICS]Bluesleep Fix for all ICS Roms (Enable Deep Sleep!!)

Hello all!!! This is a Mod that will fix the Bluesleep issue seen on our current Cyanogen Mod 9 build and all ICS Based Roms.
What is Bluesleep you ask?
Bluesleep is a wakelock that is an error on part of the Bluetooth System missing a few binaries. Even if you have bluetooth disabled, you will be affected by this bug!!!
Ok, so how does Bluesleep affect us?
Bluesleep is a wakelock. Wakelocks prevent your system from going into Deep Sleep. From my testing, this is the ONLY wakelock that is still prevalent on our system.
Why did this bug occur?
Normally, an ICS kernel would take care of all of this. But due to us still having a Gingerbread kernel, we still need these binaries.
What are the benefits from flashing this?
Oh, only BETTER BATTERY LIFE! As of now, our phone sits at an idle state of 216Mhz. By flashing this, it enables Deep Sleep, which saves a substantial amount of Battery Life when your phone isn't in use.
Sounds great, but there's got to be a catch.
From my testing, there are no bugs introduced from this fix.
Wait, how thoroughly was this tested??
It was tested for a solid day of good use on MIUI.
It was (sadly) only tested for a few hours on CM9, however my phone did reach Deep Sleep.
SIGN ME UP!!
Download Link
Instructions:
YOU MUST BE ON AN ICS ROM! (CM9, AOKP, Paranoid Android or MIUI)
Boot into BSR
Flash the bluesleep.zip
No need to wipe Data or Cache
ENJOY BETTER BATTERY LIFE!!!
Credit goes to olegfusion and Th3Bill for their findings!! All I did was package it and make the flashable script.
NICE WORK! i wondered why my screen turned off then on so much thought it was smart screen off now i know
Gonna flash this right now thanks so much!

[Q] Battery life under BAMF ICS?

Kinda beats the purpose of having a 4G phone... not to mention an annoyance having to turn it on every time I use a web based app.
I've got to the point where I only use it if I'm downloading a big app or something. The difference in web page loading is barely noticeable. I don't get 4g in most of the areas that I work so I leave it turned off most of the time anyway.

Yeah that 3-5 seconds it takes to turn it back on can be mindblowing. You would be amazed at how good battery improves on all roms when doing this. I even turn network off. I got 12+ hours out of the leak with stock battery.

If that's directed at me, I did try it, for a couple of weeks. It's a fact, the kernel NEVER allows the CPU to enter sleep mode. Airplane mode, turning off LTE, etc will not help. I've done that plus turned off syncing, GPS, and more and had 30-40% battery drop while I was asleep in bed.
Well nusense had practically all of the ics leak taken out and he is uploading a rebase from the desire s official build so well see how much better the battery life is. If you think about it. Liquid has been working on his build for like 5 or 6 months, maybe longer and nusense may actually surpass it soon in stability. It's almost just as smooth now.
