SmartPhone Photos - Motorola Photon 4G

I found this article interesting, 25% of all photo's are taken by smartphones? Any idiot could have told them that! What I found interesting is next to last sentence in 2nd Paragraph:
"Besides, who needs to drag around a few gadgets when you can do almost everything with just one?" I have been saying this since the day I got here almost 4 years ago!

Maybe the EVO 3D will be available at Best Buy a few days earlier than the "official" launch. I got my original TouchPro years ago at Best Buy on a Friday when the official Sprint launch was the following Sunday.

No way. This smartphone game is so much more high-profile than it was back then. Hell, it's even more high-profile than it was this time last year for the Evo4G. Everybody is super hush-hush about release dates. At this time last year I'm pretty sure we already heard that the Engineering RUU was leaked and the bootloader nand-unlocked had been achieved only a week later...very thorough and complete hands-on reviews were done by the zillions of people who got a free Evo4G at GoogleIO and the ones sent out to the tech press. After owning one for over a year I can honestly say that we had the most accurate picture painted of the Evo4G we possibly could have without having touched one...
...this year? Aside from tech specs that have been available for months, ummm, nothing except a few brief hands on at tech shows (complete with reports of every possible widget and app crashing or locking the unit).
On one hand I'm irritated at the lack of information. On the other hand I'm thoroughly impressed at the lack of information in this day and age.
Either way, I want some fncking answers.
bumm bum buhdum ( the price is right looser sound) with the bag pipes deflating after.
HA i knew this "rough launch" was BS. Someone just wanted their 15 min of fame. ( and got it for a while)

Is "The Bigger, The Better" The New Cool?

I have been wanting to ask this question for over a week. I have been using different cell phones for over 12+ years, maybe more. When I got a BB back then, the big device made me look important (I was not!)
Over the years, I wanted more functionality, but I wanted a smaller footprint. This has been my reasoning for years, I always reached for more, both for job and personal, but it had 2 be smaller.
With both the Evo and Photon, I liked GhostArmour (Like InviShield), the devices were a little larger, but were lighter and had bigger screens for multi-media. But I still liked the reasonable foot print.
A few weeks ago I got OtterBox, and I love it. Although its the size of a brick, it has more of a "Manly, rough and tough" feel to it. After I got it, I happen to be out at happy hour and everyone wanted to see my phone. A few days later at same bar, I noticed @ 6 other people with larger phones (may or may not have been same case?). Not going to say who, but I was told we need to cut down on text messages and e-mail at work. Sitting in meeting, I noticed 7 of 12 people had lager devices/cases doing texting/email including the individual in previous sentence. This morning, I went to McD for my daily breakfast Sandwich, I noticed girl on window has phone size of mine on her butt cheek. (Im sure she does not use her phone to the extent I use mine?). Even my brother with his HTC Evo Shift (I'm proud of him!) has large case. I watch people walk around the complex, it seems EVERYONE has a large brick on their belt.
So, Is Bigger the New Better? Or should I say, Is Bigger and More protection the better?" Given the prices of these things............It might be the latter!
your ill conceived attempt to disguise the classic female question has been foiled.

kashmir - you have got to be kidding when I guy puts these up for sale with the following babble:
"Hold on; let me play a sad song on the violin while you complain.
Day in and day out, I am smiling. There isn’t any specific reason in particular, but everything in my life right now is perfect. Not only do I have an amazing job with oodles of growth opportunity at Taco Bell. Right now I’m just making tacos, but my manager told me that he usually doesn’t have employees with my level of enthusiasm and that I could really go places within the company. I have this one idea … it’s sort of like the Crunchwrap Supreme, but it’s literally just two crunchy tacos inside the quesadilla tortilla. Genius, right? Not only would that taste incredible, but Taco Bell wouldn’t even have to buy any additional product … plus assembly would be a snap. My manager beamed when I told him that one.
Besides my awesome Taco Bell career ahead of me, I’ve got a lot more to be happy about. I recently got married to the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. We have two children and they’ve actually been aging at 1.5 times the normal rate, meaning that my 3 and 6 year old are actually 4 and 9 years old. I can’t wait for my 60th birthday when I’m going to be the same age as my first-born … every year after that she’ll be able to give ME advice about getting older!
You’d think that with all those things going on, my life couldn’t possibly get better, right? WRONG! Just last week I came into a windfall of HTC EVO View 4G Tablets. And when I say windfall I mean like 400,000 of them. Literally. I gave a few away to my friends and family, but mostly I’ve just been playing football with them. Boy I love football."
It may be humoruos, and maybe I'm humorless, but htis is wacked...

Just ordered 1 from mobile.dailysteals.com
I want to know. Will all flyer roms work on this? I bought it to use as a wifi tablet. Its better then look tablet and kindlefire for $230 only! 32gb and you also have option for sd card! Maybe singlecore processor be problem but clocked at 1.5 I think it will do just fine.
So far, current flyer roms will not work on the View is the general answer.
Also, I've read on other sites (slickdeals) that some of these sites may take 1 or 2 weeks to ship. If you're cool with that then it's all good.
Bensoutlet just lowered the price to $219! I ordered it this morning for 239.. I emailed them to see if they would give a price adjustment since they lowered it just a couple hours after I bought it
Cool, It is now down to $219 on Bensoutlet.com. I just got mine today from the ebay deal. It got here in two days. I paid $240 and I am very happy. It is a nice tablet. My other tablet is the gtablet with bad viewing angles.
Whoops, right after posting this I see the post before this says the same thing.

Yes. Have tons of stuff on Amazon (uploaded my entire music collection). Have lots of movies on Amazon as well. Have 50 gb of space on dropbox. However, wifi not always accessible, and would like to carry music, books and manga with me. Would also like to have some of my favorite videos stored as well.
Daily Steals had it for $229
did anyone who ordered from ben's get shipping notification yet?
Just got my shipping notifications on 2 separate orders. The emails were in my spam box though.

Me too. I had ordered it when it was $239 and then just a few hours it dropped to $219. I emailed them and they said they are going to give me the $20 credit. So if you did jump on it and order from Ben's you might be able to get a $20 price adjustment credit. I'm not sure though if me ordering it just a few hours before they changed the price mattered or not but they did say they would issue me a credit for the difference
Anyone know where I can get another one of these? I bought one from 1saleaday.com but now I need to order a second!

Leo Laporte review on Gear S

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbW2pqUODOY
If you leave a remark please be an adult about it...
I don't know how many days he had to check out the Gear S before a review, but I can tell you he had no idea about this product and he tore the Gear S a new one..lol and gave it a "Do Not Buy".
What a bonehead ...... you can get it without a contract, you can also use it without a Galaxy device, and you can turn the volume UP! #usererror :silly:

That is fine if it is a "Do Not Buy", but please do spend some time to learn and get to know the product before giving a review beside just not knowing nothing and tearing it apart with all negative comments leading up to a "Do Not Buy". Yup, his review has alot of user errors.
"No one in their right mind would buy this". I think he is very unproffessional. And owe his viewers with this watch an apology. He Doesn't research very well or at all. And is arrogant. Never followed the guy I just like watching videos on gear s on YouTube and stumbled on it. I'm not a fan boy just like what I like. But him comparing the s to a moto 360 was laughable at best. If your too old to play the game it's time to move on. That was the most half cocked review I have ever saw in my life. Maybe he's paid well by apple.
I want those 7 mins back. Nice shirt. lol
I like Leo, he's generally pretty good. Unfortunately he's a bit of an Apple fan boy. The Gear S probably never had a chance.
I love Leo and watch a lot of his twit shows online and have been watching him since the old ZD TV days, but he is off base on this as I love my Gear S watch. He probably just didn't try it out long enough and learn to appreciate it or read up enough on its capabilities
What an idiot. He knew nothing about the watch.
I've watched Leo's reviews, and such, before (and have enjoyed them) but this one clearly showed that he didn't know what he was talking about... and I am in my right mind, otherwise I would have bought an Apple Watch (which, btw, isn't even in production yet)

lol. i joined it. thanks. They asked me, each and every details, even my underwear size.
Seems like a good idea. Hope they pick me for software updates, as I'd really like to give feedback on bugs/annoyances while they still have time to fix them.
You must not have rooted or otherwise hacked your phone.
lol
I signed up anyway, will see. I wouldn't mind giving them some feedback. I have been loyal to HTC for a long time. TP1, TP2, evo 4G, evo 3D, evo LTE, M7, M8 & M9.
Although I do know a lot of people who have left HTC in favor of Samsung. I still think HTC makes better products but I know a big turn off for many was the camera which they messed up with the M7. Although I didn't think it was terrible, 4 MP was an awful resolution, ultrapixel or not it just wasn't enough.

I wondered about that too but OMJ perpetuates and even instigates the rooting and hacking of phones, specifically HTC phones and he has been in the program for some time now.
I've been a part of this program for 2 user trials, and I can absolutely say my experience has been less than stellar.

Less than stellar? Thats what they said about their latest phones. My next T-shirt...HTC Simply less than stellar.
Poor HTC always getting junk checked on every thing they do.
Kidding aside...how can a preview program be a bad experience?...its free. Worse case scenario is they never contact me and I forget I ever signed up.

First of all, the two user trials that I was part of were for a very plain, unDesireable device. But here's my take on the experience. Quoting myself from a conversation on Elevate:
"I understood that it would be log reports from the beginning. Heck. I would have had no problem sending logcats.
The first ut, had about 10 hours of my time into it. Then I had to pay for return packaging materials. It would have been nice to receive a Thank You card.
Second, it was to last 2 weeks, I ended up having the device for 6. Survey to be completed at end of UT. Again, paid for return packaging. Again, not receiving a Thank You. Never received user trial survey."
"HTC did email me a prepaid UPS label each time, however I do not have a pc or printer at home anymore. It is a 10 minute drive to the local public library to print a label. Being in a small town can suck at times. Our local UPS affiliate did not have any UPS padded mailers in store, so I purchased padded envelopes from them, to avoid a trip home. I don't want to come off sounding like a whiner, but it would have been nice to at least get a Thank You note from HTC. My at home time is extremely limited, sometimes less than 24 hours a week. The 10 hours filling log reports and comments with the tool used up a lot of time that should have been spent with family."
