Has anyone done a factory reset yet on your Gamestop tablet and did you lose the pre-loaded games?
I think it should erase them...if it didn't, that would mean gs had modified the firmware

Why phrase the subject as if you did it, then ask if anyone has done it? You title is misleading; you could at least end it with a "?".
Anyway, I was wondering if it did too. There are people who wanted to remove the games, they should try it and tell us what happens.

By phrasing it like this: "Gamestop prime will factory restore delete added games", you are kinda saying it does do it. Then everyone will ask you did you do it and have prove, but when you read your post, you are asking if anyone did it. Yeah the question mark will let people know that you are asking rather then telling.
Didn't you mean to say: "Gamestop prime will factory restore/delete added games?"

It will delete the games GS installed.
---------- Post added at 08:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:22 PM ----------
Yes I did and yes it will remove the games GS installed.
Isn't there a way to sync the games with your google account so you can redownload them in the future?
What he meant to ask was "Will a factory restore of a Gamestop Prime result in the loss of the bundled games?"
Now that we've got that out of the way. If I remember right, there are two types factory resets. A soft reset that erases user data and a hard reset that re-fleshes factory stock ROM configuration. As I do not have a Prime on hand I do not know the answer to your question. My guess, they go bye bye.
Could be wrong though.

Curious, rcbarr, do you plan to root the prime? what is the build number now that you did a factory reset? If your build number is less than what mine is out the box, I might factory reset mine and try to root it with the razorclaw.
I find it funny that gamestops game bundle can be lost so easily. Wonder how you would get it back if you had to do a factory reset to fix a problem. Guess an app like Mybackup Pro might help get it back.
Looks like rcbarr confirmed that you lose the games. Terrible setup on GS's part...good thing we have for Titanium I suppose.

Totally sucks. I have purchased some of the games already like riptide and shadowgun. I'm wondering if they are the same version that was pre-installed.
I would use Titanium but Razorclaw doens't work on our Gamestop ones. Someone as mentioned the GS possibly did an OTA as they were installing the additional games.

Build Number: HTK75.US_epad-8.8.3.29-20111202
I rushed into it, should have backed the apps up first with Titanium. Whatever, will first try to get them back from the dev backup, if that does not work, will just buy what I want.

The good news is, we now know GS did not mod the Firmware.
As far as rooting it, no, I am going to wait until I get ICS. Believe me, I have thought about it, had my EVO 4G rooted before the first week was out that I owned it, laughing.
So can these games be updated with updates are released in the future?

Mine is HTK75.US_epad-8.8.3.27-20111122, earlier than yours; you probably did the OTA, right? Well, we just need to know what the build is on the ones from the other retailers out-the-box before OTA. Hope someone posts that info soon.

Since most of us are excited to get this tablet in our hands, I was wondering what everyone plans on actually doing with it when they first get it. I have a list of about 16 apps (so far) that I KNOW I want to download asap. I'm taking advantage of all the 10ยข apps lately. In downloading them to my phone and then when I get the prime ill already have them on my Google account

Well this is a Xmas present to myself so assuming that I can pick it up on the 19th from Gamestop, I am going to wrap it up unopened and put it under my tree. It's gonna be hard not to open it but I think I can make it a week. I'm just as excited as Xmas in 1989 when my mom bought me a NES with mario and dunk hunt on the same cartridge!

First thing root it. Then do a Titanium backup off all my apps and clean up system apps that I do not want. Then Rom manager/CWM and do a nandroid backup of my stock rooted rom. Browse the web and watch Hulu through DroidLu app from market.
After charging it and turning it on, not necessarily in that order. I'm going to test the WiFi, BT, cameras, and then curl up with it, and watch a movie on it.

I would, but I seem to be having the same issues. I downloaded the apk before buying because I saw this crap in the reviews. If it weren't for the fact that people who actually BOUGHT the game are getting screwed with the same issue, I would say that this is some super effective form of DRM...

Haha flash botched boot.img's to it to piss em off to.
Its up to you. Any one can now make their own bootable Sd with a simple download and click.
PS: I Do not condone criminal activies, and NO ONE SHOULD DO WHAT I HAVE SAID. IT IS SAID AS A JOKE.
Sure it might be funny to some people... but it's still technically a criminal act...
Ah, but I don't actually have to root, I can just load up a burned sdcard, and wait until they happen to reboot it.

Oh this is different. If they have empty SD card slots, and you just put one in, and don't screw with the internal memory, then no harm done, so no criminal act... (this does not mean they wouldn't try.)

Ok. Saw a thread about downloading the premium suite (s-note) for the note last week and now today I can find it anywhere. It included the apk file download link.

It has not come out, the only thing that has been released was the SNote app from the premium suite.

i was wondering where that thread went too.
i downlaoded the apk, and it kept saying there was a problem parsing the package. came back to the thread and it was gone. i just assumed they had to delete it cuz of some issue with samsung
Yep I cant find the thread either.. I'm the person who upped it to 4-shared. The n7000 thread I got it from is still active though...

I wouldn't think that Samsung would have any say over what's posted on a forum. Maybe I'm wrong.
Oh well. It kind of pisses me off that we buy this awesome phone in Feb, and here 3 months later we are using an outdated operating system. Sure I have ICS installed via flashing a rom, but I think Samsung mislead us when they acted like the ICS was coming out in the first qtr, and now we see competing phones being sold with newer operating systems than what we have.
Guess I'm learning what really goes on in the world of marketing.

Samsung has always been really slow at providing updates. Usually taking a year+
3 months isn't bad. Considering this is their "flagship", oh nvm that's right SIII > note as far as they are concerned..

I don't believe the problem is with Samsung. I think the issue is with AT&T. They are adding their "enhancements" to the ROM before its release.
Man! Why do they have to take so long? Freaking years! If it wasn't beacuse iphone small screen and their annal closed OS, I would have jump back into iphone in a heart beat.
to a giant corp like ATT, updating a phone OS probably isn't high on their priority list...

Exactly the problem with large companies. Screw you, we already got your money and you're stuck with us now, so why would we care about you.
Its not about the customer anymore - its about the shareholder and the suits at the top getting as much money for as little effort as possible. If they wouldn't get dumped by everyone switching to faster carriers, they'd never spend any money upgrading anything (like towers or 3G-->LTE) since that absolutely destroys profit margins.
I think we as consumers don't give ourselves enough credit for how much power we hold over these corporations. There's 5 million Note users - obviously not all AT&T... It's time we stop giving these companies a pass just because we the customers are too small for them to care about.
good points...

Samsung is the best at customer support and liberty of your device.
I believe the OS upgrades are slowed because of carrier signatures on bloatware. As for customer support and honoring warranty repairs regardless of system modification, heck, Samsung evens pays for shipping via UPS to get your device to and from. I've bricked so many Samsung phones during the FROYO -> Gingerbread leaks, reverting back to FROYO and not changing the bootloader back. SAMSUNG NEVER GAVE ME A PROBLEM. Samsung rules the land!

I can't lie this is true. I gave back a phone on warranty and it was rooted when I returned it on accident and they still said nothing. Flash counter on it was 4-6 too. Don't forget to do complete data wipe and remove sd card before you send off
Well obviously his feedback is good so thats always a good start.
My advice is to send it to him recorded delivery so then you can track it online and know when hes got it.
Also pay for tracked delivery to return the item back to you aswell.
Also as mentioned above make sure you do back everything up to a computer first and do a complete factory/data wipe aswell so all your personal stuff is safe.
