Underclocking Ace - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Is there a way to underclock the galaxy ace to save more battery on stand by? I'm using ics final and it has OC but I'm wondering if you can go lower than the 122Mhz limit.

Dunno. Isn't setting it on the performance governor good enough?

I would recommend Juice Defender Ultimate.. it has its own clock control where whan you lock the screen you can set the max clockspeed to make sure it doesnt over work unnecesarily. I cant truly explain it to you.. You should try it yourself. Plus it has its own governor control.

Does anyone know if it's possible to push the CPU beyond 800mhz (without melting the device that is)?
If so, how?
Thanks =)

Linaro

Sorry if someone else already asked for it but i read about an android version «Linaro» which doubles the performance of the phone. Here is a link http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...e-and-now-parts-of-it-are-being-added-to-cm9/
Can our devs include that into our cm9 or is it not compatible with our ace. Thanks

how can some toolchain which compiles android platform be made specifically made to target specific architecture ?? as i read gerrit it just specifies it produces compilation using gcc4.7 instead of older ones which in some cases produce optimizations

Fair enough
Btw still wondering why rom compiled with optimized toolchain can give massive perfomance boost while kernel in the other had doesnt make any much different no matter which toolchain, which optimize flag used. Theres even a thread by ezekeel complete with benchmark result and whatsnot, explaining that optimize toolchain for kernel is just a myth :/

CyanogenMod 10.1

Hello everyone. So basically i have a question. Is anyone facing lags on cm 10.1 new nightlies? O have a lot of time with this rom, and i must say that 10.0 was much more smoother (at least for me)
On 10.1 even the homepage is choppy... I'm running Pegasusq overclocked 1.7 GHz with deadline scheduler... any advice you would give me?
Best regards

I felt the latest PA ROM was quite laggy too...
Use Siyah kernel and I have a few tips for settings:
--Over clock to 1.5GHz
--use lulzactiveq
--turn gentle fair sleepers off
--set touch boost to 1000Mhz (or more if you want)
--turn android logger off
I also undervolt all frequencies by 75mv.... I do a lot of PC tweaking and you'd be surprised how much that little amount can reduce cpu temps.
Hope it helps. Did for me.

It isn't really noticeably different to stock settings tbh.. (I.e. still not a patch on Samsung). Give it a go and see how you get on. It definitely makes the ROM smoother.

I have read comments from several devs that claim that this makes no difference and that those saying it does are experiencing the placebo effect
Addition: in case you are experiencing scrolling lag in any apps, make sure you have force GPU rendering ticked in developer options!! Absolute necessity in any JellyBean ROM.
