Hello everyone. So basically i have a question. Is anyone facing lags on cm 10.1 new nightlies? O have a lot of time with this rom, and i must say that 10.0 was much more smoother (at least for me)
On 10.1 even the homepage is choppy... I'm running Pegasusq overclocked 1.7 GHz with deadline scheduler... any advice you would give me?
Best regards

I felt the latest PA ROM was quite laggy too...
Use Siyah kernel and I have a few tips for settings:
--Over clock to 1.5GHz
--use lulzactiveq
--turn gentle fair sleepers off
--set touch boost to 1000Mhz (or more if you want)
--turn android logger off
I also undervolt all frequencies by 75mv.... I do a lot of PC tweaking and you'd be surprised how much that little amount can reduce cpu temps.
Hope it helps. Did for me.

It isn't really noticeably different to stock settings tbh.. (I.e. still not a patch on Samsung). Give it a go and see how you get on. It definitely makes the ROM smoother.

I have read comments from several devs that claim that this makes no difference and that those saying it does are experiencing the placebo effect
Addition: in case you are experiencing scrolling lag in any apps, make sure you have force GPU rendering ticked in developer options!! Absolute necessity in any JellyBean ROM.

I would recommend Juice Defender Ultimate.. it has its own clock control where whan you lock the screen you can set the max clockspeed to make sure it doesnt over work unnecesarily. I cant truly explain it to you.. You should try it yourself. Plus it has its own governor control.

Overclocking. But unless your a ridiculously heavy user... u don't need too on this quad core beast

Of course custom kernels offer undervolting.. which greatly improves battery. Slows the phone down though.. and that is if its stable.

Undervolting doesn't actually slow down the phone, the CPU still runs at the same speeds just on a lower voltage. I have undervolted my s3 by -75mv per step and it is still very stable and runs the same as before, and now my.battery life is amazing

Well...
Dude, i think i should not answer it as you are asking personally from one person....
But heres my opinion->
I tested about 4 Kernels.
And it was strange to see that none was there with 0 problems. Everyone had some or other problem.
My mission was overclocking.
No kernel worked well except Siyah.
So i will only refer Siyah.
About versions, i would choose the latest as it may have more features and less bugs.
So just go for latest.

You are only using one ROM. Its showing what version of CM the ROM is based on and then which version the PA is based on. It is imposibile to run two ROMs booted simultaneously.

I prefer CM7 over CM9. I have tried both, and I really had some problems with games and some apps in CM9 because they aren't compatible. So, yes... CM9 has a pretty nice UI (better than CM7) But I choose CM7 because is faster I think, and most of all, because I use to play games a lot and is more compatible than ICS.
And you can also have a nice ICS look in CM7 by following THIS guide, so it looks really nice.

if it come to play HD game i like a rom that base on cm7, but since the game developer starting to move on ICS n up i have tried CM9 n CM10 including the rom that base on it. and i said CM10 or rom that base on CM10 is more responsive to play game BUT if the game requirement is ICS or up dont put ur hope to play that game cause usually that game require an high end hardware
CM9 or CM10 draining more battery, i thought it cause by our ram is only 300mb+ so the system keep the cpu busy to release resources
both are good but cm9(and all ics roms!) has a better response on touch screen
in performance cm7 is so much better!
on cm9 i use these governor and I/O:
smartassv2-sio
cm7:
smoothass-sio/bfq
