Photon Screen Trade for an Electrify Screen. - Motorola Photon 4G

I'm looking for the Screen / Front Housing for a Motorola Electrify, and I'm willing to trade for a new Motorola Photon Screen / Front Housing.
This is for purely cosmetic reasons.
Preferably in the Milwaukee area. Please PM if interested.
Thanks.

I'm sorry, what is the difference? I'm curious is all

I doubt there is any difference.

There is no functional difference. The Electrify is Silver and the Photon is... Gun metal? Titanium colored? Like I said in the OP, its for purely cosmetic reasons.

i might be willing to trade whats the risk of taking the phone apart?

Unlocked TMOUS Vibrant vs AT&T Captivate and why?

Unlocked TMOUS Vibrant vs AT&T Captivate and why?
That is the question of the day as I am currently debating wether to get one over the other. I know the two devices are nearly identical in guts but factors to consider include form factor (which is better in hand), development support (which phone has more custom ROM support) and others which you might deem helpful to add into the discussion.
I am currently leaning towards the Vibrant for some reason because I have heard pretty favorable comments on it. Oh and it might be helpful to know that I am in the AT&T network and would only consider to get an Vibrant if it were unlocked.

Vibrant because it can work on AT&T 3g bands

The Vibrant doesn't have the UMTS 850 band.
So you won't get as much 3g coverage as you would with the Captivate.
Thanks for the input fellas!
You see what I mean? When it comes to these two phones, trying to decide which one, is better gets a little contradictory.
So in terms other customizability, which one wins? Because that is a thing to consider and I am now sort of leaning towards the captivate for its better housing (metal vs plastic).
Any more input is appreciated guys.

Vibrant cause you can use international galaxy s cases. Once you put on a case its all same. I rather prefer vibrant than metal because its lighter. And plastic absorbs more impact. Less chance to break the screen.

Hmm that is good reasoning. Its really hard to choose between these two devices and I am still unsure which one I would get by this point.

Agreed.
Really, the Vibrant (imo) is a better looking phone, and adding a front-facing camera is very easy on it too.

saintsmmx, Post in the captivate forum and you will have tons of defenders for captivate. Having said that, I personally like the look of captivate, it looks like a high end phone more so than the vibrant.
choose captivate if you want to save more battery. why? because it has a feature that when you don't use the phone it will automatically power off. cool huh?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yeah I know, but I thought I might post here I favored the Vibrant a bit more so I was looking to see what people thought customizability-wise. Haha but I should post there to see what they think of the device also.

Haha you're being sarcastic aren't you. So is that a bug or something that the device turns off automatically when you're not using it? Or not? Or are you not even being sarcastic lol.

Well my Vibrant is unlocked, and currently has an AT&T SIM in it. I suppose one advantage, if you have poor coverage where you live with TMO, you can use the wifi calling app and get around that. With AT&T you have to buy their personal hotspot thing, and requires a monthly plan.
I have a TMO prepaid SIM that works great in my Vibrant.
Also - I think AT&T locked down some features in their version. (possible BS on this one).
TD
They(ebay) have rubberized back covers for vibrant too . And I don think ATT have received their official froyo unlike us .

Thanks for the feedback fellas I really appreciate them, and I actually posted this similar thread in their section of the forum and I have someone already defending the vibrant instead of the captivate where he is the "Vibrant is nearly unbrickable". What do you guys think about that?

Ok chief I think the ratio of favors from Vibrant to Captivate is about 3:1, so favoring the vibrant right now.
So what if its now down to these two phones? I'm actually just looking for something to replace the HD2 that I have right now with something that has great hardware specs like super amoled screens like these two phones. I know the nexus s is also out there but that is waaayy out of my budgets reach. So if you have a phone to suggest I would really appreciate that a lot bro
Sent from the Heavens
I was about to suggest the nexus s. lol but if you're out of budget then you may just get the vibrant. people here would suggest to learn flash a custom rom because the vibrant is PIS when on stock but when using a custom roms, it's like one of the best phones out right now IMO.

Photon 4g or nexus s 4g

alright guys some of you may know i have a nexus s 4g, and i love it.. but my team already has people on it, so i offered to take on photon 4g. now that puts me in a spot, as i dont have one
so anyone unhappy with their purchase interested in trading?
Even trade? Not gonna happen, Sorry. That's like trying to trade your Sterling silver chain for a white gold chain.

I owned the nexus 4g for about 3 months and decided to upgrade one of my lines on the family plan (Family hand me down program hehehe)
I agree with newalkwer, I would not go back. I know you read about the screendoor effect, but let me tell you, yes, you will see it, BUT only if you really look for it. Otherwise, its a great phone so far and I will not look into returning it anytime soon. Sound quality is great and unlike the nexus 4g, the speaker volume on the Photon is LOUD! Let's me sneak in a couple movies in the data center with the servers humming away hehehehe.
Also, when i first looked at the nexus screen, I was wow, the display and the colors were great. But now that i think about it, It does look over saturated.
Well, to each his own, but these are my opinions on what i have seen so far.

You heard? Show some proof. I highly doubt that will be the case. This phone is off the hook and being unlocked and rooted now its only a matter of time before we get some sick kernels and ROMs. This phone rocks and I knew it would awhile back, no one believed me. Owell
If they are such a high sell rate why don't you buy one of CL then??
Good Luck

My roommate works at a corporate sprint store and he just mentioned tonight that they have sold about 30 photons and have had only 1 return, and that was just because the person didnt have coverage in their area and decided to go with att.. though the customer liked the photon so much my roomy told him of the atrix (with the updates the atrix performance wise is pretty close now besides the obvious upgrades of mopho). So thats b.s. about the high return rate. If anything the nexus s 4G is higher because of the obvious network issues stock (though update should have fixed this). Either way look on ebay, if u think u can get a even trade then why not sell on ebay and just use paypal to buy a photon on ebay as well...

We need you on our team Shabby..but seriously toss in like $50 extra and swap some poor sap on craigslist for a Photon. I had an NS4G and the Photon is leaps and bounds better. Here's how i upgraded....Evo 4g + $50= Nexus. Complained about radio on nexus = free 2 yr upgrade. Sold nexus for $220. Bought Photon for $219.48 with tax ftw.

My Daughter has the Nexus S and I just got the Photon yesterday and there is NO WAY I would take her Nexus S. WHile the Nexus S is a very nice phone, to me it's not as good as the Photon ( I am coming from the OG EVO) which the Photon puts to shame. The Photon is being compared to the SGS2. It's Crazy Fast and has ALOT of things that it did right. Downloaded Netflix and watched The Thing and it looked Amazing. I don't know why I hear people *****ing about the screen, it looks Incredible to me. Photon>>Nexux S. Plus with Google buying Motorola Mobility, I can only see this as a Win/Win
Guys, I'm in a bind!!! I can't decide between the Photon or the HTC Sensation... I know this is the Photon Forums and thus the bias is going to be towards the Photon, but can someone make a good argument as to why I should go with the Photon instead of the Sensation?
I will be heading out to the store to buy ONE OF THEM but I just need that extra push towards one of them!
Thanks in advanced.
PS. Also take into account the carrier. In other words, taking into account the phone AND carrier, which one is the best overall guy?
Photon hands down sprint has better coverage in buildings but T-Mobile data is faster but u get capped on T-Mobile, Sprint is unlimited. Photon processor is better then sensation and da 3d which is actually clocked at 1.2ghz, battery lasts longer on the photon, plus moto down wit google i kno dat locked bootloader nonsense is ova wit, photon has better voice quality and sound. Should i keep goin?

Is buying a Fascinate still worth it?

Hey Guys! I'm visiting from the Droid X forums wondering about a certain idea i have been thinking about for a while....
The droid X has been plagued since its conception by its locked bootloader. Even though the dev field has made aw esome strides with this device (2nd-init)(Don't worry if you dont know what that is), we still have to rely on Moto giving us updated kernels. We do have Gingerbread, but the Droid X will likely never see ICS.
I really dont feel like buying a brand new phone for a while, mostly because im friggin broke lol. One of my best buddies has a Captivate, and I love the ease of use when it comes to flash-ability and complete control of the phone, especially with the unbrickable mod! With all these pluses, and the fact that since the Fascinate is a Galaxy S phone, with the same internals as the Nexus S, I'm fairly sire that the phone will get ICS some how.
I already have a used phone I have found that a guy is selling for really cheap. Depending on its condition, would you say its a good buy?
Thanks is advance!

Ill keep that in mind if this one doesn't work out. Thanks!
Anyone else have thoughts?
Yes the fascinate is still worth buying if you can score one for a 100bucks. development is still going fairly strong for being over a year old.
I think the Fascinate is a great phone. I'm sure we'll be seeing ICS not too long after the source drops. Just like droidstyle said, if you can find one that cheap, I'd do it. I bought mine back in the summer for $200 and haven't regretted it yet..... This upgrade I have is burning a hole in my pocket though... Damned Galaxy Nexus! XD
Yes
The fascinate is still hands down a very powerful phone. My buddy just got the Droid Bionic and it only gets average 25 fps in quadrant scores. My fascinate gets about 50 or more. So, yes it is still an awesome phone.

I love mine as well. It has one of the best screens and graphics accelerators there is. The screen isn't too big and not too small. It isn't really thick so it slips in the pocket really nice. It is also a great looking phone.

Liquipel - Waterproof Phone Coating

Have you guys seen this? It looks interesting, but I am not sure how they keep the plugs waterproof while also allowing connectivity. Anyone know?
I also wonder what would happen if the phone gets scratched...
http://www.liquipel.com/
Meh,liquipel is alright. Neverwet is better though. I think the difference being one is water repellant, the other is super hydrophoebic. I've seen the plug question asked before. Guess we'll never know. I know for liquipel, you have to send in the phone,i believe they treat the internals, though I may be wrong. My guess is liquipel is good enough to do it's job but thin enough not to interfere with connectivity.

Drycase is cool, but I think there is a strong appeal to not having to put your phone in the case, for fear of it getting water damage. Something less to think about is always good.

[Q] Trading Motorola Photon 4G for Samsung Captivate Glide?

Anyone up? The Phone looks Brand New has a Zagg Invisible Shield on Front and a OttorBox That come with it free when trading.
That wouldn't be anywhere near a good trade for you unless you are just trying to switch companies to AT&T. That is one of the low budget android phones and the photon is a top of the line phone. I would rather get a better phone with AT&T than that one.

BINGO!!
I agree with all you guy but there are a few thinks....
1.I was forced to sprint due to Divorced Parent
2.Forced to choose a phone and Couldnt wait for a Tegra 3
3.I'll admit the difference between the 2 phones
Samsung Captivate Glide Only Pro is Keyboard
Motorola Photon Better Battery Life,More Internal memory,Bigger Screen,More
So why am i still trying to trade when even i already admitted the Photon is better?
Cause i have a sibling that is willing to join my Father in sprint but i need to get my own GSM Phone (Tegra 2)
I would keep the photon if sprint would be nice to there PAYING customers and give the unlock code cause i know my father will eventually cut me off while out at sea and if i can join my mother's plan i need it unlocked, but as i said earlier sprint isn't friendly for that stuff. In the end its me holding a cut off phone and money wasted.
Dude, sprint is a company, personally, if my father gets more money from you with a CDMA contract... well thanks for buying my custom pc
Or you could just go buy a GSM chip and put it in the slot...
Unlock the boot loader and go download Kitchen sink. Then select GSM.
So stop complaining >.>

Personally i had a G2X which i admit in the wrong hands isn't a pleasant phone. I say shame on all those people who returned there due to the fact that don't understand tech and want simplicity. If you want simplicity get a iphone or learn the damn thing.
Due to have that phone i grown used the the smaller screen and prefer the size of the phone. So a equal to it is the SCG
