Alright, so sorry if this has already been mentioned before, but I am just tired of googling around threads for an answers so I'm resorting to the Q&A. So I've just picked up a Bell Samsung Galaxy S II and have tried to use a tutorial off of http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...lock-root-bell-galaxy-s2-step-step-guide.html. Generally I have worked with rooting many htc devices but the SSGS2 was my first samsung device which is new grounds to me so I'm not really sure what to do about this problem. Everything goes fine until I reach the part where I have to root the phone with CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG2-v4.1-CWM4. Whenever I try to root it, Odin gives <ID:0/006> Added!!

and stays at zImage. Yes I am in download mode and yes I have enabled debugging under development.
Did you disabled Kies? If not stop it with taskmanager

I've had the same trouble with cf root kk2. Stuck on Zimage. I've rooted before with this, but this file is giving me trouble. Can't figure it out yet. Tried downloading the file again from chainfires thread. I'll figure it out sometime after christmas I guess.

Make sure you are using the latest version of odin, and use the pit file and check repartition in odin.

tried still no go on it
my phone usually takes 3-4 tries to get odin to work. nothing was done differently on my 1st or 2nd (or even 3rd) try, its weird like that.
keep trying it as people try to help you solve your problem!
As the other thread said, do you have any computer you can try this on? If yea then it might be worth a try for right now.
thanks got it

hello Forum,
i just got my sgs2 a few days ago and its my first android phone.
Today i tried to root it with this tutorial(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399) and it all worked perfect, but then i wanted the custom litening rom too.
I tried to install the litening rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274) the same way, in download mode, i dont know if i did sth wrong but odin froze and after then all got worse.
The download mode still works so i tried installing severel different roms including the stock kernel but odin only worked half way and stopped.
Download mode still works.
Please, please tell me there is a way to save me.

Good to hear.
Same problem
I am having the very same problem...
I got my SGS2 a couple of days ago.
Yesterday I've installed the new gingerbread 2.3.4 version
and as it wasn't working fine, I decided to re-install the previous version.
Odin starts uploading the new firmware, but it totally freezes
at the beginning or/and at the end...
As a result my mobile is completely dead for 2 days now,
and no matter what I try, nothing can fix the problem.
I really appreciate if you guys could give me any help on this issue.
Thank you,
If you have NIS installed then Odin might freeze. Disabling it helps. Maybe there are other ways too, but I don't know.
Hi ithehappy
Thank you for your reply...
And Yes: I've NIS installed in my computer!
After your suggestion, I completely removed/uninstalled
all Nokia Software and Samsung Kies from my hard disk
and them restarted my computer.
I changed the USB port that I was using before,
and them I've try to flash my SGS2 again using ODIN,
but unfortunately, the very same problem still happening:

I am really counting on some help from the XDA members
because at the moment, I don't know what else to try...
I tried using the Toolkit to root my SGS3, however, it didn't work.
Edit: Using Odin v3.07
I am trying to reflash it using Odin, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried unrooting and putting the original firmware back on, but I am getting this in Odin

At removed, the phone vibrates, and I believe it turns off/disconnects, so I don't think it gets the update. I am using the files that came with the toolkit, such as the boot-stock-i9300xxale8-gsm.tar in the PDA section.
I saw mskip suggest a Sprint flash, but I am not on sprint, so I don't know if this will work (It did work for the other guy, but as I said, I am not on sprint)
Does that Removed!! cause a big problem?

are you sure you phone is in download mode and not in recovery mode while flashing? I have seen0that many people make this simple mistake
If you are talking about Sprint:
what is your device hardware?
If it's not i9300 you're in the wrong forum
If it's not exactly the same as the one your toolkit is for, you just softbricked your phone

I thought all SGS3s are I9300, but if they are different, mine has SGH-I747M on it
Now seeing that, I probably am in the wrong place

If you are flashing a ROM, then you need to put the file in the PDA section of Odin, not the bootloader section

Be lucku if you not kiled your phone if you have flashed rom on bootloader

It's already been said but you do in fact need to put the rom in the PDA section.
You also need to put your tablet in download mode for it to work.

I clicked the wrong button (sorry about that), i tried to re-flash the ROM in the PDA section, but no success, and my device can't start (doesn't even show the samsung logo or the boot animation) only shows a black screen, i can boot into download mode, but the recovery mode is not available, shows the black screen too

Hopefully not
Fear not, if you can get into download mode you can simply flash the rom again and you should be able to get it working.

I heard of it, but i don't know how to use it. I searched tutorials on YouTube but they use an older version (in the video the version is 1.1 i guess, and the version i have is 1.32)
Edit:After searching some tutorials I flashed my device successfully, but now it's stuck on the boot animation (keeps repeating and repeating it)
Reboot device and try again. It happens sometimes. You can't brick any further by force rebooting it.

Finally!!! My device is working again, thanks for all your help guys, i really apreciate that
Hello guys, this is my first post. I was subscribed to this website for some time. But I was always able to solve my issues just by searching the forums here without having to post my own thread. However, I have been looking for the "PIT" file for my Samsung Galaxy Light SGH-T399N with no luck. My phone was stuck on the MetroPCS logo screen. So, I have not been able to flash the phone via Odin because this file is missing. I can not even go into recovery mode. I was wondering if you guys could helped me. I appreciate your help in advance!
