I emailed HTC; got one email back so far. I told them 'i cant unlock the bootloader from there htcdev web site.

I wrote a very pointed and professional letter to a few of the executives at vzw today. I directed the letter to David Small and cc'd the other higher ups.
He responded that he would take my suggestion under advisement. I feel good about the response. I will attatch a copy of my letter along with the response.

Guys... harassing HTC and Verizon isn't going to work. Period. I am willing to bet that Verizon sits back and laughs at the letters and emails they get in regards to unlocking devices, because it's NOT going to change. As much as I love Verizon, the locking of their phones is indeed selfish and a waste of a good product.
Everyone needs to calm down. If you don't want to wait, get a different phone. If you are willing to wait it out, at least let HTC secretly slip a method to unlocking it or wait for a developer to crack it. These multiple "contact HTC and Verizon" threads are pointless and a waste of time.
That is all.

Calm down buddy, if it's not your time what are you worked up about? At least they're making an effort instead of sitting back and WAITING for something to happen.

Word. I say we do a drive-by on every store until they unlock the bootloader. That'll show 'em!

A part of me wants to say you're right if it were only tens of 1-300 people, but I genuinely believe if they have (high) hundreds or thousands of customers complaining about it and are threatening to leave, they maybe, just maybe get the hint. I'm trying to be optimistic. Then again they may have their heads up their asses and may have a filter set up specifically for these emails and the generic response ready at hand.

A letter to HTC about Unlocking Bootloaders

Hi people,
I am posting this message on HTC FACEBOOK site, I ask you all to copy&paste same message and post at HTC FB page. (correct where necessary, for example the year when you first bought your HTC, how many HTC you have had, etc...)
I am thinking that if we all unite and post same message we can create a chain reaction and force HTC to officialy reply to our questions. Otherwise they will get hundreds of the same long message on their Facebook page which they might not like people always complaint.
HTC Facebook site : http://www.facebook.com/HTC
Here is the message copy & paste & correct where necessary and post on HTC Facebook site.
NOTE:
HTC Facebook site will NOT allow you to post a message more than 1000 characters, so goto the Photo section and add an ordinary photo or add below photo , then your message can be as long as you wish

Dear Peter Chou and HTC Employees.
Hear us.
I bought my first HTC phone in 2008 and it was a HTC Touch Pro.
I am currently on my 11th HTC phone right now and since the date I met HTC , I personally did not change my HTC to any other brand.
We have been loyal HTC customers since many years and we expect HTC to treat us the same way, otherwise our HTC love will not last forever. You are where you are because of us loyal customers.
Recently about a month ago, HTC C.E.O Peter Chou announced that HTC will be no longer locking the bootloaders from now on. I think this was a necessary move anyway since all other competion like Samsung and Motorola already offer unlocked bootloaders.
After reading Peter's comments here on HTC Facebook Page, I have pre-ordered the HTC SENSATION and the HTC FLYER.
I have received my both devices about 2 weeks ago but unfortunately they came with Locked (signed) bootloaders.
Currently there are thousands of people per day asking HTC when and how the unlocked bootloader process will start. The only reply we get from HTC is , "we are working on it and you will hear from us soon"
Dear HTC, we need some SPECIFIC ANSWERS from you rather than a pre-studied "we're working on it"
Now everybody is talking something and all we hear is speculation.
Please answer these questions with specific answers:
1) When will you start ?
2) How will the unlocking process begin ?
3) Which devices will get the unsigned bootloaders?
4) What about the Branded Devices
5) Is the process software or hardware related ?
If you answer these 5 simple questions, for sure everybody will be relaxed and we will give you enough time to breath and do your job rather than posting alot of dissatisfaction messages on your Facebook page.
If you noticed lately , you only get dissatisfaction messages posted on your website due to not giving any detailed info about the unlocking of the bootloaders.......
We all expect an OFFICIAL REPLY from you
Best Regards

How do I go about posting on HTC's wall? I feel like an idiot. Do I click the "like" button? Not a facebooker.
Nevermind, got it. Feel free to delete this post.
Just click the link and goto the wall and click on photo then paste the message and add a photo
Thats it
Or you could just read this official announcement
http://www.slashgear.com/htc-unlocking-bootloaders-across-the-board-official-26155031/
Just sayin'
I mean seriously, they are not going to respond to every inquiry. Filling up their facebook page with the same post over and over again just relegates facebook to what it really is, a vast wasteland of nothing worth noting.
HTC has a lot on their plate, yes I want the flyer unlocked, but I also want my Thunderbolt with Gingerbread.
Might be a good idea to fix some of the grammatical mistakes before starting this campaign.

Or you can try reading it. HTC's statement is about future phones. They have not been clear about whether existing products will be updated to unlock the bootloader. Also, the Flyer is not a phone. HTC has not been clear, and the OP wants clarification.

They don't have to respond to every inquiry. That is not the intent. HTC stated that they are changing their policy due to overwhelming customer response. This is due to people like the OP raising their voice, not from people waiting around for things to happen. And this is just one way we can voice our opinion to HTC. Its not completely clear to me how much attention HTC pays to their Facebook page. But it may well be as valid a form of communicating with them as any other. Writing letter or messages to companies or government is how a lot of things have gotten done, don't underestimate it.

As a business person, I do not disagree with a letter / e-mail campaign, but I will say filling up a company's official FB page with complaints of which people should not even be complaining is not going to win any favors with HTC. You are correct, they are talking about FUTURE devices. Anyone who likes to root and flash 3rd party ROMs had to know the Flyer was locked down. It's been all over the intertubes. If you knowingly buy something which is locked, you should not expect a lot of sympathy over the fact it is locked. Do I want it unlocked? Yes, but not for any really good reason. I bought the Flyer specifically for the pen and "notes". Whatever ROM I may flash has to have sense and scribe built in. I cannot imagine why someone would fork out this kind of money to flash CM on it (and I sued CM the majority of my 18 months on the D1).
I also agree with another poster. *If* you are going to engage in a SPAM campaign to a company, please make sure it is spelling error free, grammatically correct and non nonsensical.
Again, I do not disagree with the intent or idea, strictly with the fact the idea is to SPAM HTC's official FB site with this.
Edit:
BTW, what happens if HTC picks a date for the unlocking of the Flyer and then misses it for some reason? Will everyone understand things go awry when making this happen OTA and they want to be sure it is safe, or will people start *****ing "hey it's 12:01 the next day and still no unlocked bootloader. ZOMFGWTFBBQ?????"

This isn't spam. You, like many others, need to learn the definition of what spam is, before flinging that term around willy-nilly. This is a viewpoint, opinion, request by the OP. A suggestion to HTC on how to make their product better. That seems exactly what the HTC Facebook page is for. That's not spam.
On the other hand, should people just cut and paste his letter verbatim? I agree the answer is 'no'. But use it as an example, customize it to fit your situation/opinion and engage in the campaign in a meaningful way.

You are right. For that reason HTC always answer to such request like: We don't know, don't ask but read our news channels.
My "translation": We are working on it (unlocked boot-loader for Sensation and Flyer) and when it's done then - and not before - we will inform you.

So aside from loose use of the word SPAM, we are in agreement that people should not just cut and paste this into HTC's official FB site.
HTC is not going to give release dates which can and most certainly will be missed, especially for something like unlocking a bootloader. The TB missed it's initial release date and it seemed like everyone on earth was up in arms judging by the amount of traffic people saw.
I am not even sure the bootloader will be un-lockable (yay for non existent words) via OTA. The odds of bricking may be too high for HTC to want to deal with. Their official statement is that going forward HTC devices will not have a locked boot loader. People should take that for what it means. *If* HTC decides to go back and unlock already out there devices I think that would be a very difficult thing to do from a reliability and certainty standpoint.
The OP bought the Flyer knowing the boot loader was locked. The OP did not return their Flyer during the return period (BB is 14 days). The OP bought exactly what was advertised, and is not satisfied and suggests to post the same complaint over and over again on an official welcome to HTC page. The BEST way to get companies to understand that you will not buy something with a locked boot loader is to not buy it in the first place.
I am dropping my sub to this thread as the point is lost on some.
That's a heck of a lot of speculation on your part. And you may/may not be completely correct. But its really not too much to ask for HTC to clarify whether they intend to unlock the Flyer's bootloader or not.
The Flyer is a great device. Many on here, myself included, want an unlocked bootloader, root, S-Off; but don't feel its enough to be a deal breaker and not buy the device.
If everybody posted, at the same time , the same message (corrected the dates and phones according to him). Then for sure it would create an impact on HTC .
Since only a few acted, it's just another complaint message to the eyes of HTC.
Please HTC, build better phones!

Well, the following news pretty much settles the question of whether a manufacturer can unlock the bootloader, if they really wanted to. Motorola's Gingerbread update for the Atrix comes with the ability to unlock the bootloader:
http://phandroid.com/2011/06/22/gingerbread-update-for-the-motorola-atrix-4g-brings-fully-unlockable-bootloader/
Also answers the question of how a manufacturer can offer an unlocked bootloader without the risk of bricking a bunch of the Flyer's out there (if that's even a real risk). In the case of the Atrix, it sounds like the user has to issue the command over ADB to unlock the bootloader, which also gives a warning that it may void your warranty. Seems like a pretty tidy way to do it. Anyone that really wants the bootloader unlocked is not going to have a problem with a simple ADB command. But those that don't care, don't have to mess with it.
I am beginning to think that HTC is really working on unlocking the bootloaders and we will get our S-OFF soon ........

Contacts To Voice Your Concerns Over S-off (Updated with Petition Link)

I know alot of people are upset over having to wait on S-off, while watching other phones, like the newly released Nexus get unlocked fairly quickly.
Have you checked over at the Galaxy Nexus forums? One could easily get jealous that they already have the ability to flash undervolted kernels, new streamlined roms, radios, etc.
I consider the HTC Rezound cream of the crop, and would love to tweak it out before Christmas.
Well, I say we as a whole contact HTC and Verizon and let them know we are displeased with the current locking of our Rezound. I can understand the reason for locking, but what about other devices on the network? The Galaxy Nexus has been unlocked and rooted without any sort of hassle. This is causing those that are impatient to jump the HTC Rezound ship and head over to the nexus.
Those that havent jumped, are probably contemplating, that is including some devs i'm sure.
Earlier this year, Peter Chou, CEO of HTC states on Facebook and Twitter that they will no longer be locking the bootloaders on their 2011 and newer devices, yet somehow this was not the case for the Rezound.
If you would like to, contact Verizon and HTC and voice your opinion. While it may be futile, not voicing yourself surely wont help Maybe they will get tired of our complaints, and do something about it. HTC has to of felt a little burn with people going over to the Nexus already, so maybe they would love to keep that from happening more.

For those that don't know, Verizon do have support forums, and here is a complaint topic regarding the HTC Rezound's locked bootloader, so voice yourself there too (please stay faithful to XDA, my intent is not to have you move to a different forum).

As a whole, we might get heard, and who knows, maybe Christmas will come early I'm aware that once I bought the HTC Rezound, that I was taking a gamble on how soon if at all S-off would come. It is my second smartphone, following my HTC Incredible, and with all the choices out there, I still come back to HTC.

I have posted to the HTCUSA Facebook wall twice, each time receiving a polite "we feel your pain but that doesn't mean we're going to do anything about it" type response.
I am trying to be optimistic, thinking they'll unlock things after the ICS upgrade to which they're already committed.
For now, I enjoy temproot, and the Nexus does not appeal to me at all. I feel like we've got the best product out there, and that's good enough for me now.

I also feel that this is the best product out there right now.
I see you are also coming from the incredible. I still miss playing around with new roms like MIUI and CM7, undervolted kernels from Chat and Tiny, etc I have my deactivated Incredible on my desk (with a mod to turn off the radio but leave wifi on) and I still find that I play with it from time to time.
Temproot has made the wait less painful, and its been nice not having to worry about flashing new roms all the time. But my vacation from the flashing is over, i'm all ready to start again.
I've been pounding their phones, Facebooks and email for days now, my most recent post on HTC USA's Facebook was this morning, and in a bit more of an angry tone than the others. I said I was taking my Rezounds back, which I'm really not doing, because they went back on their word. I'm still sending emails out to people, and I just sent out an email to the CEO of Verizon....we'll see where this gets us.

I like your enthisiasm. I read a post over on another forum where HTC said the reason they locked the phone was because of Google's request. I have no idea how valid that post was though, since it was the first i've heard of such a reason.

When are we going to see s-off on the Rezound? You guys are losing valuable customers and developers to the lesser Nexus due to not being able to unlock it. Loosing those developers is going to cost you more customers the longer you wait. No one is patient these days.

Yea I would think that they soon have to see the numbers of returns yesterday for people trading in their Rezounds to go to the Nexus. It's unfortunate, because I really don't know if there enough people who do what we do to make them change their stance. They may just view us as a drop in the bucket, but the more noise we make, the better our odds. BTW, I think it's also important to post on Verizon's FB and emails as well, not just HTC.
I started an online petition a few weeks ago but pulled it due to no interest. Lemme know and I will reactivate it

It is Verizon locking down the phone if I recall correctly.
I posted on their facebook today about switching to the GNex because of the unlocked bootloader. Said i didn't understand why they were going to let verizon bully them around but let samsung bring out a device with such an easily unlocked bootloader...
I really like HTC's hardware, I just really hate sense. I want vanilla android...Since HTC won't sell me a rezound with stock GB or ICS, i have to have an unlocked bootloader to get it.
From VZW Support
I can't speak to how HTC phones are supposed to be configured, only how VZW phones are configured. Our phones are set up with software protocols that protect the operating system. Unlocking features expose the device to risk.
When I mentioned the Nexus being unlocked, there was no further response from them.

We here, in the movement of #OPMOSH do not consider this spam, we do not consider this slandering Moto, we simply use this as a method of having our concerns heard. Motorola Mobility Inc. has been a powerful company that has been around for a very long time, and one we hope to see long in the future as well, before and after the Google buyout.
About this movement:
Motorola Mobility Inc. has become famous for its lies, slanderous ways, and tendency to flat out prove time and time again that it cares not for its customers after they walk out of that store with their Motorola-branded device. Since the early days of Android, post Droid 1, we have sat down and took our locked bootloaders like a man. There came to be a boiling point - and a full-out war was launched on their social media sites. Sound familiar? The same thing that worked with HTC and now with Asus. We received a generic "second half of 2011" timing. Guess what! It's now Q1 2012, and not only have they missed their deadline, but they have IGNORED all bootloader-related questions, given NO official announcement of their plans still being in motion, and thus must have forgotten that we are a core, dedicated community that wishes nothing more than to enjoy the phones we were given. Let's make ourselves heard yet again, turn the heat up, and make Moto (like HTC) get off of their asses and DO SOMETHING. Everyone counts!

This is included in the email, so it is crucial that it continues to grow in number.
Then....
TRY CALLING VERIZON'S EXECUTIVES.
Make sure before calling that you are very informed about the issue and confident in your position, yet can be quite calm. Do not show any disrespect towards Marie H or the person you call. They are merely the (wo)man-in-the-middle, and you simply need to explain to them your position and back it up with facts. Also, do note that all times are EST.
Call Marie H. at (412) 266-7756 on Monday - Fridays, 8 am to 5 pm. OR Michelle at (803) 231-1787 on Monday - Fridays, 7 am to 4 pm. OR Call Verizon customer service at *611 or (800) 922-0204 and get to a rep by mashing 0.
This is something you cannot copy-paste, unfortunately. Here are some guidelines that should help you be successful in your endeavor:
- First off, if you get the voicemail, leave your name, number, and a time you can be contacted in case they wish to follow-up call.
- Mention that many are filing FCC complaints because this violates Block C guidelines. (Do research in case this is brought into question)
- Mention that HTC, Motorola, and Samsung have bootloader-unlockable devices on the network right now; (HTC has their 2011 devices, Moto has the Xoom, and Samsung the Galaxy Nexus)
- Mention that the bootloader being locked does not allow the device to do anything that a laptop that is using a 4G hotspot cannot do even faster/more efficiently, including hogging network resources.
- Mention that the bootloaders being FORCE locked (as in, not unlockable) does not offer protection from any present viruses or attacks of Android devices.
- Mention also that unlocking the bootloaders could very well use a system like HTC uses - which stores the IMEI of the device and voids its software warranty indefinitely, making Verizon's warranty services not liable for what a user installs on their device.
- Close your talk/voicemail by stating the number of signatures on the petition, currently well over 2,500, and saying that this is a widespread concern of many users, that wish Android to be truly open.
- Say thank you before you hang up, it'll really give off a good impression.
TRY AN FCC COMPLAINT:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Select Wireless Telephone > Billing, Service, Privacy, Number Portability and other issues > Online Form. Fill out your information, scroll down, fill out 1 and 2, skip 3 and 4. Then in 5:
- Tell the FCC that your phone’s bootloader was sold to you locked, preventing the regulatory requirement of BLOCK C Devices (MAKE SURE TO MENTION BLOCK C!!!) that "Consumers should be able to download and utilize any software applications, content, or services they desire" - make sure to cite that.
- Also helpful would be dispelling the "Reasonable network management" exclusion. Tell the FCC that Verizon allows tethering of unauthorized devices to 4G LTE services through their mobile hotspots and their paid phone tethering functionality as-is, ones that are more bandwidth-hungry and also permit installing custom operating systems, and have a potential of doing significantly more damage, such as laptops.
If you don't want to write yours up manually, we will have a pre-made step 5 that you can just copy paste soon, hopefully.
TRY EMAILING:

To Whom It May Concern,
The independent communities that you catered to with your announcement earlier last year are very very excited for your bootloader unlock solution. However, the "second half" of 2011 has come and gone quietly; why is it that the public has received no notice that the bootloader unlock solution is still in works? A small-scale petition has made its rounds about the Android community, and has already gained over 2,500 signatures just under 55 hours after being made public: http://www.change.org/petitions/motorola-mobility-inc-unlock-all-smartphone-bootloaders-2
Clearly, the demand is indeed still quite strong (as can be seen on your social media networks, Facebook and Twitter), and it would be quite reassuring to the communities that not only pay for your devices every upgrade opportunity, but also help develop the Android operating system that you are using on the aforementioned devices, to have an announcement that the bootloader unlock/relock solution is still on track for a timely release. This would also potentially double as reassurance to on-the-fence Galaxy Nexus/HTC smartphone buyers to go with the Motorola Droid RAZR, with its KEVLAR backing, Verizon 4G LTE speed, powerful 1.2 GHz dual core processor, and new bootloader unlock/relock solution instead. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
A Motorola Mobility Enthusiast.
TRY TWEETING:
@Motorola - How about those unlocked bootloaders you promised second half of 2011? @HTC cares, do you? http://moto.ly/icsboot
TRY POSTING ON THEIR FACEBOOK WALL:
@Motorola - I'm a faithful Motorola customer, and I'm starting to have second thoughts. Honor what Android stands for, openness, and give us the bootloader unlock tool that you promised "second-half of 2011". http://moto.ly/icsboot #OPMOSH
MAKE SURE TO SIGN THE PETITION!!
It is the backbone of this movement. We need as many signatures as possible.
We NEED to be heard to get anywhere. Spread the word to your Facebook friends, your Twitter friends, your Google Talk friends, your favorite Android news site... Spread the word! Bring freedom to the Android ecosystem, like Andy Rubin and Rich Miner intended.
Thank you SO much for your support. This community is amazing and I know our endeavors will be successful. See you on Moto's Facebook!
In an effort to get better coverage, I would suggest crossposting to as many Android forums outside XDA as possible. Most definitely, send it to Android Police. It could be worth a shot. While I understand different folks have preferences as to what forums they frequent, getting the word out is paramount.

Make sure you start a similar one with verizon because i am pretty sure motorola is going to play the blame game as soon as this gains momentum based on the line from the blog post
"where operator and channel partners will allow it. "
I'd like to think this will work if we get it out there enough. It's the customers vs. the company, I can't think of anybody who would want it stay locked except for those people who are like "oh but then it'll just be easier for people to screw up."

I'd even post on the unlocked ones. Many people would help the cause. They could write how much they benefit from their phone with an unlocked bootloader. I even bet a significant number of the larger Android community would assist because we all have the same end game in mind.
This thread is great. I was just thinking yesterday of collecting the various resources to petition Motorola. You made everything very clear and we thank you. SPREAD THE WORD!! and, most importantly, ACT ON IT PEOPLE!!
Now we need a script to auto-tweet, auto-email, and auto-flame Motorola AND Verizon.
I'll help out with this cause any way that I can. I just posted on Moto's Facebook Page.

i just sent out an email to the addresses that were listed by the OP, lets see how long they can ignore the emails from the customers and ignore the petition. I hope they don't send back a generic email that states that they're "working" on it. If the dx2 is a "closet" device then maybe we can gain at least the key to unlock and we'd be gaining our pudding.
Being a recent HTC convert and former X2 owner, I can say that this could really work. We got our Rezound unlocked. This needs to get out there. You'd be surprised how powerful this can be if enough people here on XDA start making noise. Thanks, OP, for posting this. Good luck!
Can we organize a time to CALL motorola? I think clogging up their phone lines for a couple of hours may be more effective than jamming their inboxes with easily deleted emails. If we could get even 100 people to just call at the same time, we could be HIGHLY effective.
We could all also call the phone number listed in post number 96 of the similar thread in the RAZR forum. I think that if we politely annoy enough people things can get better.
'Bout to hit 1000..

I signed the petition.
I posted in the Motorola X2 forums that HTC has already unlocked their bootloaders within the United States, and that the X2 will be my last Motorola phone if they do not go through with their statement they released to unlock the bootloaders.
I sent an email (not nasty, but to-the-point) in the same vein as my post in their forums.
Remember, people. Do NOT be nasty about it: no name calling, no cursing, etc. Just state that you feel they should unlock the bootloader, especially since HTC has done it. I went as far as to suggest they contact HTC to see how they got Verizon and AT&T to allow this. Then, state that you won't be purchasing any more Motorola phones if they do not move forward with this. I was being kinder and stated that we, as customers, deserve an answer from them one way or another (whether they will unlock the phones or not). If they choose not to unlock the phones nor give an answer, the X2 was going to be my last Motorola phone.
It wasn't nasty, it was to the point and it was with tact. That's what we need, not a lot of flaming, etc. That won't get you anywhere and they'll just ignore it and treat it as if it were from some child or teenager, which is what I would do with it as well.
BTW, just read this excellent article on Droid Life. Pretty damning against Motorola if you ask me!
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/01/0...eed&utm_campaign=Feed:+DroidLife+(droid+life)
I went ahead and updated my post in the Moto forums to include this article link as well.
BTW, this has to be the 3rd or 4th "article" I've seen today about this. I think it's picking up steam. Now, whether Moto decides to listen and take action is another thing.
Exactly we must be to the point but not to forward it could be offensive plus that could hurt the cause And we still need a little more signer so tell your friends mom etc

Contact htc/att for updates

Hi to all.
I was thinking of requesting all members out in the community (at least on XDA) to put a shout out to HTC and/or AT&T for getting us update to Ice Cream Sandwich. Perhaps if we were all to send in an email or something then it may get the point across to them that we want ICS - if not at least some news about their plans. If we all pool in and probably bombard them it may get us some more solid response rather than only 1 or 2 of us trying our luck.
I was thinking that around the 15th of May we would all get to it.
juannicolas has already agreed to help in.
Request all with the device to pool in.
We will however need adequate contact details for getting through to the right people. So those of us who have gotten a reply previously/know any contact details, please add them in so that it will be of aid in our project.
I got an email from HTC - a customer service specialist from [email protected]
Please add in any other contact details available.
Also, I remember cookiesowns @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17799114 having got his hands on a dev device. A big shout out to him to help us if he can get in contact with someone at HTC he knew from who he got the device so that that person could help us out if possible. Will PM him later on.
UPDATE 9th May, 2012:
As of now, we are planning on going ahead with how many we can on the 15th May, 2012 and then again on the 1st June and then decide further plan. Thought would be a good idea to update the 1st post here:
The following will be the locations where we would voice our concerns:
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/HTC - post in
Facebook HTC USA: http://www.facebook.com/htcusa - post in
Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/htc - tweet
HTC ICS Blog: http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/ - comment
HTC Tell us what you think blog: http://blog.htc.com/2012/04/your-phone-your-thoughts-tell-us-what-you-think/ - comment
HTC Support: http://www.htc.com/us/support/email-support - email them
HTC write a Review for HTC Jetstream: http://www.htc.com/us/tablets/htc-jetstream-att/ - include grievances about no ICS/information about updates
Also, an online petition has been created for all HTC tablets wanting ICS (Flyer, View and Jetstream) and they also joining in. Link is http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/htc-tablet-users-want-updates/
So, do sign in, spread the word and lets hope for the best. Will post further updates in the thread and in this post as well.
UPDATE 14TH MAY 2012
Many of you have heard about thenews posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651651. We will however still continue with the above plans tomorrow-I.e. 15th May 2012 by contacting HTC by different means. However, a small change. Please add in that give us ICS or release the source code and partition block data so that we can do so if you'll aren't interested.
Ipetition for the same also made at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/release-source-code-and-block-partition-data-for/
Do sign, spread the word and join in tomorrow. We shall repeat the exercise on the 1st June again. HTC is liable to answer us so we deserve an answer. Chances are more we will get an answer if we all join in.
I'm in.
but i'm not sure that bombarding a useless minion that knows nothing will do the trick..
we should do that, and also use the public platform - Facebook page, twitter, HTC ics blog (http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/). all with the same massage at the same day..

Would it be a good idea to add in an online petition too? If yes, anyone willing to take that up and get it started as well and share details here?
I am in the process of manually getting hold of the users who have a Jetstream so as to PM them all about the plan and ask for their support too.
Have got only the Development section to check for users who posted in the General, Accessories and Apps sections. Will take a while for sure.
Count me in although I M not on AT&T I am on Rogers...
It is my opinion that we shouldn't do this until xda posts an rss news feed about the organized attempt to contact htc and plea for an update, potentially reaching more users to join this bandwagon.
5 or 6 people emailing htc does nothing.

are we to try doing all at the same time (Hour-wise)?
also, i'd try contact the flyer forum and unite with them. as the "ignored htc tablets users"
and another question, are we to post the same message or each of us will write something somewhere in random?
as for the places to spam, i'd go for HTC USA facebook page as well.

Me too. And contacting AT&T probably won't do much good. It's not like HTC's released ICS for the Jetstream and AT&T is holding it back. If AT&T + Rogers could market this as an ICS tablet, it'd theoretically sell better.

That is also a good idea. Don't mind it either way. I managed to list out those active on the forum and am ready to send them all a pm to invite them to join in-its around 120 or 130 people. But then again we aren't certain how many will join in too.
I don't know how XDA will post the RSS and when. If that is what others feel would be the correct step ahead, then let's do that. Opinions from others? I am willing for either options and will surely contribute the best I can. Basically we need to take an organised step with a lot of the users out here so as to catch HTC'S attention rather than a few of us just getting small "ignorance is bliss cues" from HTC - and for this I do feel more the merrier would be more effective rather than the earlier the better.
On another note, how can we get XDA to issue such a News feed? Do we have to request someone or contact someone or something? Can the forum moderator also please guide us about this?

I feel it would be better to add in our own messages rather than the same hum drum of same messages. And let's add in the HTC USA Facebook page as well to the list.
As seen above, typhoopnikan feels it would be a better idea to wait for XDA to issue an RSS then we take action. I feel its a good idea too. Others please voice your opinion so we can decide. Perhaps if 1 of you could poll in, we will go with the majority (sorry but I don't know how to start a poll here or would have done so myself)
And as far as including HTC Flyer section guys also in, it would certainly catch the attention of HTC more than just us Jetstream guys but it would also take a lot more organising, spreading the word more and getting more to join in which would surely take more time. If someone from the Flyer section can take the responsibility to pool in and coordinate with us, perhaps it could work.

Contacting AT&T and/or Rogers I felt would be a good idea so that we don't leave any page untouched. Personally I don't have either so they will just not reply to any of my queries. I sim unlocked my device around December 2011 - January 2012 and have been using different SIMs with it. Still, I would go with the majority-as the majority say, so we shall do.

Petition HTC an Verizon to unlock our bootloader!

I created this http://www.change.org/petitions/htc...unlock-the-droid-incredible-4g-lte-bootloader. to petition the unlock of the bootloader. We can't just sign a petition an pray for it to happen. We must get on their Facebook, twitter an any social media site they have pressuring them into this. Don't go post "hey assholes unlock our device", that won't help, just makes you look stupid! Post on their something like "I've been with you since 2005,long time customer, but you locking my device down in unacceptable! If this isn't fixed shortly I will leave for another company!" stuff like that over an over will get their attention. At the same time spread the word of the site an the unfairness of both the companies.
It's time to rise up an show them, without us, they are nothing!
Some extra info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32332265#post32332265

If anyone has heard back from either company, please share it here with everyone.
I might delete some comments in the future, just to showcase responses back from people or other stuff. It's not personal .

Include the HTC Incredible 4G LTE in HTCdev's unlockable bootloader program
Upon release of the HTC Incredible 4G LTE, HTCdev included the phone in its unlockable bootloader program. Within a matter [of] days, the phone was removed from the program, presumably at the request of Verizon Wireless. There is no clear reason as to why this phone was removed from the program, as users of the bootloader unlock suffered no ill effects.
This petition is being put forth to both HTCdev and Verizon Wireless to request that the HTC [Droid] Incredible 4G LTE be reinstated into the unlockable bootloader program. Support of open development drives innovation and sales. HTC's software developers can learn from the developer community while Verizon Wireless can benefit from end-users upgrading/renewing their plans to take advantage of this new phone. Furthermore, this simple act would incline users to recommend both HTC products and Verizon Wireless service in the future.
Inclusion of the HTC Incredible 4G LTE into HTCdev's unlockable bootloader program is in the best interest of HTC, Verizon Wireless, and end-users. Please take action on this matter as soon as possible.

Op updating
The several posts that were deleted were on-topic and showed contribution from the community to writing/revising this petition, I don't see why they were removed. This also eliminated the possibility of thanking users for various contributions. I'm new to posting on XDA, and now I'm missing out on any opportunity to add to my thanks meter.
The OP's petition still retains the old petition letter below the description. I initially thought these would be non-editable so I created a separate petition (really, I'm surprised that a petition author can change the letter AFTER signatures have been added, but change.org seems to allow this). I now see that the OP can in fact edit all aspects of the petition (except maybe the url), and so users should sign that when it is completely updated.

but should it say "HTC and Verizon" not "an" ?
Guys please read the op over again. I currently stated that some posts would be deleted, it's in order to show who signed an has heard back from either company.

I just want to make sure that you realize the petition isn't completely updated. Please take no offense, I just want people to have a petition they are comfortable signing (myself included),
1) Other users have mentioned the use of "an" in place of "and"; these are two very different words. I hope you'll reconsider this habit in the future.
2) The letter just beneath the description of the petition still contains the old petition's text: "HTC an Verizon are abusing their abilities...". I'm very uncomfortable signing the petition with this letter still in place.
3) The paragraph breaks are missing from the letter. The breaks help emphasize different points and are appropriate.
4) When introducing HTCdev, it would be best to first list the name, then follow with the web address. In the first paragraph, replace "http://www.htcdev.com" with "HTCdev (htcdev.com)".
Please realize that we are trying to petition some very large corporations. Professionalism is a must if we expect to be taken seriously. Attacks on their name or reputation are only going to guarantee non-response. Poor grammar and structure will also leave our petition ignored. HTC and Verizon Wireless will have a more difficult time combating reason and intellect, and for this I think the community should strive.
I copied everything you posted in the pm. I'm not obligated to do this for y'all, I'm trying to help out. This will be updated when I have the time. If you want to start your own be my guest. Don't get mad or something with me, when I'm busy doing stuff around xda an in my life.
Honestly you should be glad, that I'm doing this for you guys. I don't mind a little nudge here or there to fix stuff. Just don't badger me over stuff.

did someone in our community ask you to make the petition?
If not.. you did this on your on time and doing.
so we would like to be taken seriously, no on is putting you down, I've had issues with mdmower, but I have to agree with the polite way he approached you about the petition, but I found your response a bit childish in the manner you had let us know that you aren't doing this because you have to but rather YOU chose to.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate you and what you're doing.
but I don't NEED to be glad about anything that you are doing, so for you to say "Honestly you should be glad, that I'm doing this for you guys." is completely childish IMO and I don't agree with it one bit.
If you don't want to be bothered over "stuff" then why are you the OP?
I'm confused.
If it possible please ignore my actions last night. I was stressed out over my job interview I had this morning.
I'm sorry for the way I acted.
