Do NOT hold Volume up and power.. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

It will cause the Prime to Boot up with no screen. no way to shut it down. even HDMI will not display but the computer will find it.. I have not tried a hard reset I am hoping for the battery to die out in a few days.. maybe not.
just a FYI.. be careful

I would contact Asus about that. It doesn't sound like something that should happen.

Volume up and power is nvflash. You get out of it by holding the power button down. Nvflash does work if you edit the driver and install but it doesnot support tegra 3 yet. It says unknown device.

Nvflash is a tool to backup and restore any partition on a terga based device. APX mode is the mode you use to get nvflash talking to the device. Its like fastboot for android.

it's essentially a low level boot used to flash system images to the device.
something like recovery, similar to samsung devices "download" mode

[Q] disable fastboot on gingerbread

I want to disable fast boot in my photon 4g. How do I accomplish. Any help will be appreaciated. I am rooted using stock rom.
Since when has fastboot been enabled?
Isn't that a feature of HTC phones?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Yeah, it was an option with the 2.3 update. I've never seen it on the stock Photon, unless you download quickboot, you don't have that option. Lol.

ok this is a thread full of misinformation. fastboot isnt on every single phone. its a program used to flash firmware. this phone boots up as slow/fast as its gunna get, on that note how can you possiblely need more time? this phone takes forever to boot up compared to my nexus/epic
Every phone does have fastboot but htc sense devices enable it by default right? Ive never heard of an aosp rom doing this...

Possibly bricked phone?

Okay, so I just bought my Galaxy S2 a few hours ago came home and went to root it just like I've done every android phone when I get it. So far I've had a G1, HTC Hero and a HTC Evo 4G. So I'm not really new to doing any of this but I wouldn't say I'm any expert either. I used the tutorial for rooting from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301682) and it was this youtube video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-2Z2dKsuio) I tried to do it and got all the way until the point where you push start and then it said that it failed. Now all I can get my phone to do is pop up to a screen that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I have looked for a recovery mode option in Kies but can't find anything. The only thing I find is something about an Emergency Recovery and when I try that it asks for a pin or something. If anybody can help it'd be awesome!
What were you trying to flash? with Odin, right?
Remove the battery, hold both volume buttons, plug in USB, keep holding volume buttons.... does it enter download after ten seconds or so?
Try with this stuff using odin if you can enter download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
Then enter 3 button recovery and wipe data.
See if it boots.

you can try , but im still stuck and my phone isnt booting or flashing

the phone just keeps going buzz....buzz....buzz but the screen doesn't ever come on and nothing happens when I leave the battery out.
PS. I also noticed earlier that the phone would stay on that screen where it asks about entering download mode until I would raise my fingers off the volume buttons and then it would go back to the screen that tells me to do the recovery with kies or w/e

Blank screen and no signs of life

So I was in the middle of messing with my note, rooted already and working great. Just downloaded a ROM to the SD. Not installing anything. Note not plugged in but 98% on battery.
All of a sudden the screen is blank. Can't get anything to turn on. Don't see anything on the screen. Nothing. Changed battery, plugged it in, no dice nothing.
Ideas? Hardware issue?
Any and all help is appreciated.
By the way was on stock ROM.
Really any help is appreciated.
Try downloading and running the is odin one click. And try to put your phone in download mode. if it does not work. hardware failure and youll need a new device
I would try the above, download mode, all different modes of the phone to see what's working.
Also i would try holding the power button for 8 mississippi seconds and see if it vibrates.

Hi guys,
so my friend gave me her i9100 (international) saying it was broken and did not turn on. It didn't turn on indeed. After holding the power button for a short time (about 3 secs) it does not react at all. If I keep the button pressed for like 8 secs, it shows the white Samsung logo and stays that way. If i try to enter recovery, the android with the stuff spinning in it's belly appears, but it does not go any futher than that. I have not tried entering the download mode though, as it's my last resort. Have any of you encountered this problem? Or is reflashing with odin my only option? I've tried switching batteries, taking it out and etc. already.
Thanks.
P.S. The device has never been rooted nor it had a custom ROM.

If the phone's never been messed with & you're messing with it now as opposed to sending it in for warranty service, that makes you (you clearly have no experience whatsoever with this device) and her (for not sending it in for warranty service in the first place) fools. If you stuff it up, she's going to still have a non-working phone & she'll be paying almost as much as the phone's worth 2nd hand to have it fixed.
