I am new to Xda. I wan given a Wallaby when visiting UK. After returnning to HongKong, I managed to have the SID Code unlocked, so that I can use Sims in HongKong. It has worked well until today when I rebooted it. The Wallaby came back on, but hanged at the "Align Scren". The + moved to the next location when tapped, but it could not go to the next stage of the reboot.
Please can anyone tell me what went wrong, and the way/s to remedy!!!
Thanks.
I would try a hard reset first, push once in the hole by the headphone socket, leave for one minute then push once more. If the hard reset doesnt work I would reflash the device with a new rom using the sd card method.
Please help me, I played around with BBs yesterday and lost radio, so installed a stock FW with FlashTool, and got radio back again, but on some 4x BB.. Wanted the new 58 BB, and found out that a .. ..0.16 FW would give me that, so installed the polish one (found no other), and after that no response when touching the screen!
xRecovery is of course gone after "stocking" (also rooting?), but I have tried a number of FWs for FlashTool, and even FW directly from S-E using Update Service, but still my phone is next to bricked.. I am n00b and could very well have done something wrong unknowingly, and/or overlooked something, but what might that be, and what are my options?
Sounds like corrupted FW. Not a big deal cause without a cracked Bootloader, you realy can't screw the phone up.
Turn phone completely off.
Pop Battery - SIM card - Micro-SD card out.
Let it sit for a few minutes.
While your letting it sit, take your Micro SD card and Format it using your PC.
"not saying this is your issue but I have had the phone lock up and appear to be unresponsive due to a corrupt file on the SD Card and it fails to mount and gets stuck." If you have any files you want to save, copy them to your PC Hard Drive.
Reinsert your SD Card - Sim Card.
Plug your USB cord into your phone " LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT "
Start up SEUS " Sony Erricson Update Service ".
While holding the back button, reinsert the battery.
Follow the instructions and restore the phone to factory settings.
I hope this works for you as this should elliminate any problems that could have or would be occuring prior. If it doesn't, shoot me a mail and I will get with you on messenger for trouble shooting.
_-_- Press Thanks if its useful-_-_
Nope, didn't do it, touched the thanks-bottom anyway, because on my PC I can...
PM'ed xKrisx, but everybody are welcome with suggestions as I'm completely lost without my phone!
Edit while waiting, hoping:
Followed instructions above several times now, except

no such option, wouldn't that be S-E-Android 1.6 ? In fact I see no other options in SEUS than accepting (or not) uneditable choices towards an update -and done-, so I suppose that's what was meant(?)!
Have tried a number of slight variations including SEUS update without sim and SD at all (was actually allowed that), but most noticeable difference was that first boot pre-choose English instead of Danish (my language), and still no response from touch screen, so can't select anything at all!
My phone shows evidence of "moderate physical pressure" (bought second hand with one corner missing), so I can't totally reject the possibility of a sudden HW digitizer breakdown though I think that would more likely have occurred while phone in use than while sitting on my mouse-pad.. No matter what, I would really like to exclude any SW related errors before moving to torx-driver surgery! Plz help guys!
Hi seek4
Did you ever find a solution for your touchscreen?
My RAZR MAXX has been working just fine, even after travel to Germany (connected to Vodaphone just fine). I have the phone in the Bahamas and it has a Batelco SIM in it. It handled voice calls as expected. Yesterday, I bought a data access package as my original package had expire. Installing the package required having a Batelco rep enter the needed APN data. After that, the phone worked well for 24+ hours with the data and voice networks. The wheels fell off when I powered down the phone.
On powering the phone back up, it does the opening red Motorola logo, the opening animatation with full audio, and then goes into the "dancing sparks" animation. And that's where it stays. It's been running in this mode for over 30 minutes since I last tried to power the phone down to pull the SIM and SD card ([/shug] might as well try that). Actually, at this point, the phone seems to be reluctant to power down (holding the upper button down may or may not lead to powering down and even if that happens, the phone just starts to reboot instead of staying dark). Soft reset only stops the "sparky" animation and then the phone reverts to the "M" logo and animation again and again and again and...
The OS is an OTA Jelly Bean supplied by Verizon (can read the detail rev numbers of course). The only recent changes I can point to are some pushed app updates (Firefox, Facebook, and I forget the third) and the entry of the Batelco APN.
So the question is this: is there any way to give the phone a good swift kick to break this cycle. If not, how do I get the OEM ROM for this thing?
Please keep in mind that I'm in the Bahamas, where surface mail can take 4-5 weeks to arrive. Plan B is to have stuff air freighted in (costs are astonomical and Bahamian customs may want a piece of the action). Bottom line: external hardware is almost impossible here.
In doing more reading on the problem, I found out about getting into the boot menu (power down, hold power, vol up, and vol down). I can get to the menu. I selected recovery and... nada. After a while the phone just boots yet again. Either I don't know how to enforce the recovery choice or the phone is really boogered. BTW, the phone does accept charging. That is, it was dead (blank screen) after looping overnight. Plug in the charger and back to looping, which continues with the charger not plugged in.
Nevermind - I got to recover mode. Helps to read the instructions fully...
You can try using this: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...ndows-mac-linux-all-in-one/page-9#entry251858
But that would delete all your apps and stuff. but it also might fix your problem.
The fun just won't stop. I wiped the cache and rebooted. No change. I went for the full FDR and rebooted. No change. This is one sick puppy...

Went there, tried that, and couldn't down load the file to successfully. I tried two mirrors and nothing (7zip said "not archives"). I also tried the file from RootJunk's download page (I'd post the URL but it's being blocked while I'm a noob).
That tanked, too.
I keep seeing references to an ADB Motorola JB ROM but can't seem to find it via Google. The idea is to just stuff the proper ROM in and get on with it. since all the user data was smoked in trying to reset the phone, losing user data is the least of my concerns.
Suggestions on this avenue of approach?

Thanks - I'll check it out. I finally(!!!) successfully downloaded DROID_RAZR_Utility_Jellybean_XT912_WinMacLin from RootJunky and will be trying it ASAP.
Great! Tell me how it goes?

So far, it goes down the tubes. I successfully expanded the file onto the admin desktop. The next step is to get the correct ADB drivers installed. That tanks with an error message, from the installer, about a network failure to read the .msi file with the updates. Network failure??? The file's on the machine and I'm in admin, not user, space. ARGHHH!!!
Try getting the Drivers from here: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481

I got past the driver problem by using the installer to remove the existing drivers (no clues as to their rev. number but they went away) and then install the new drivers. I've actually gotten to the point reloading the phone but... now the darn thing says I have no SIM installed. In fact I have two, a Batelco SIM and a VZW SIM. I tried both and all the darn phone says is "I can find no SIM". In fact, I used the Batelcom SIM in a RAZR flip phone to verify all is well with the SIM. And it is. But the RAZR MAXX won't see it. GNGHHH!!!

The driver issue was fixed by removing the existing driver (no idea which rev. was present in the PC but it went away as it should) and installing the new driver. Why the network message showed up is unclear but it didn't happen after removing the existing driver.
DROID_RAZR_Utility_Jellybean_XT912_WinMacLin took two tries to run properly but it did run. The boot loop is stopped at last. But...
Now the phone reports it can't find the SIM. I have two SIM's - a VZW SIM (worked in the US and Germany) and a Batelco SIM. The Batelco SIM worked prior to the failure and it still works in a RAZR flip phone.
The boot process runs as expected and ends in the starting screen for the setup process. At this point the battery and signal (none - of course) icons show up. A couple of seconds later, the SIM icon shows up with a slashed red circle on it. Advancing to the next screen gives a "SIM not found" and the only option is to power down.
Popping the SIM out and in does nothing. Trying to boot to safe mode does nothing. ARGHHH!!!
Try going into recovery and factory reset.
Or I could try taking my head out of my a**. The SIM was in the wrong side up. Something I cleverly repeated over and over. [/ rolled eyes]
At this point I'm back to what appears to be a factory original RAZR MAXX with JB.
Great thanks for all the help on this project!!
Good to hear!
At the moment I'm using EasyTether to connect with the interwebs and post this note. Case closed, I'd say. )
A few months ago (around March), I bought a refurbished HTC 7 Mozart, and up until today it's been working absolutely perfectly. This morning, I noticed my phone was off, and when I turned it on, I was greeted with the message "Memory card not found", followed by some text saying that I need to replace the card...
I initially tried a factory reset by pressing both volume keys on the boot screen to no luck. I then followed Andy Hamilton's guide to replacing the micro-sd card, After removing it, I tried reading it with my PC, but it wouldn't detect it, therefore I replaced it with another one (Kingston 8Gb Series 4).
After starting up the phone again and doing a factory reset, it initially worked, the phone prepared itself and all appeared to be working perfectly until I went to access my wifi network. I soon as I typed in my router's password and pressed confirm, the phone freezed up and crashed. It then went back to being like before, and factory resetting it won't repair it, nor is the phone recognised in Zune so I can't restore a back-up. What to do I do know?
Im running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 stock rom and no sim card error already occurs randomly last few weeks ago.. its usually happened when my phone was restarted from charging due to out of battery.. Its usually able to detect my card again after couple of cold restart or taking out and putting my SIM card back to the tray.. But several days ago i forgot to charge my phone and went out of battery, after fully charging i started the phone and it show no SIM card error again..
So I have try regular solution for this problem since it wasnt the first time happened. but it never get fixed. In additional, i have try several solution and test i found on the net such as:
cleaning my SIM card with pencil eraser
checking with other SIM card which is no detection also
put some paper on the back of my SIM card
flashing modem via odin
wipe cache, partition and factory reset
change my SIM and SD card tray
All above really didnt do any good for my phone.. Do you think that i still have chance to use this phone..? I still have one solution left that i didnt try yet.. Someone said that reheating the IC and SIM connector will works.. will this be worth to try since it looks like a job for skillful guy with hot air gun or solder..
should i give up now... or did i missed something..?
