No SIM Card Error [GT-I9300] - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 stock rom and no sim card error already occurs randomly last few weeks ago.. its usually happened when my phone was restarted from charging due to out of battery.. Its usually able to detect my card again after couple of cold restart or taking out and putting my SIM card back to the tray.. But several days ago i forgot to charge my phone and went out of battery, after fully charging i started the phone and it show no SIM card error again..
So I have try regular solution for this problem since it wasnt the first time happened. but it never get fixed. In additional, i have try several solution and test i found on the net such as:
cleaning my SIM card with pencil eraser
checking with other SIM card which is no detection also
put some paper on the back of my SIM card
flashing modem via odin
wipe cache, partition and factory reset
change my SIM and SD card tray
All above really didnt do any good for my phone.. Do you think that i still have chance to use this phone..? I still have one solution left that i didnt try yet.. Someone said that reheating the IC and SIM connector will works.. will this be worth to try since it looks like a job for skillful guy with hot air gun or solder..
should i give up now... or did i missed something..?

[Q] P500 pc connectivity problem

Hey guys, so here's my problem. For some time now, every time i connected my phone through usb cable to pc, it was recognized by it, but after a couple of seconds it got disconected. Also every time i i try to turn on my phone, it enters emergency mode, and i have to remove the battery a couple of times before it boots up the phone normally. I sent the phone to warranty, and they made an update to android 2.2.2. The phone worked fine for a couple of hours then it started having the same problems again. Anywone have an ideea of what the problem is, 'couse now i'm stuck using my card adapter to copy stuff, and it gets really annoyng.
try another sd card
I dunno if the card is the problem because it does the same thing even with no sd card in the phone.

[Q] Completely unresponsive touchscreen

Please help me, I played around with BBs yesterday and lost radio, so installed a stock FW with FlashTool, and got radio back again, but on some 4x BB.. Wanted the new 58 BB, and found out that a .. ..0.16 FW would give me that, so installed the polish one (found no other), and after that no response when touching the screen!
xRecovery is of course gone after "stocking" (also rooting?), but I have tried a number of FWs for FlashTool, and even FW directly from S-E using Update Service, but still my phone is next to bricked.. I am n00b and could very well have done something wrong unknowingly, and/or overlooked something, but what might that be, and what are my options?
Sounds like corrupted FW. Not a big deal cause without a cracked Bootloader, you realy can't screw the phone up.
Turn phone completely off.
Pop Battery - SIM card - Micro-SD card out.
Let it sit for a few minutes.
While your letting it sit, take your Micro SD card and Format it using your PC.
"not saying this is your issue but I have had the phone lock up and appear to be unresponsive due to a corrupt file on the SD Card and it fails to mount and gets stuck." If you have any files you want to save, copy them to your PC Hard Drive.
Reinsert your SD Card - Sim Card.
Plug your USB cord into your phone " LEAVE THE BATTERY OUT "
Start up SEUS " Sony Erricson Update Service ".
While holding the back button, reinsert the battery.
Follow the instructions and restore the phone to factory settings.
I hope this works for you as this should elliminate any problems that could have or would be occuring prior. If it doesn't, shoot me a mail and I will get with you on messenger for trouble shooting.
_-_- Press Thanks if its useful-_-_
Nope, didn't do it, touched the thanks-bottom anyway, because on my PC I can...
PM'ed xKrisx, but everybody are welcome with suggestions as I'm completely lost without my phone!
Edit while waiting, hoping:
Followed instructions above several times now, except

no such option, wouldn't that be S-E-Android 1.6 ? In fact I see no other options in SEUS than accepting (or not) uneditable choices towards an update -and done-, so I suppose that's what was meant(?)!
Have tried a number of slight variations including SEUS update without sim and SD at all (was actually allowed that), but most noticeable difference was that first boot pre-choose English instead of Danish (my language), and still no response from touch screen, so can't select anything at all!
My phone shows evidence of "moderate physical pressure" (bought second hand with one corner missing), so I can't totally reject the possibility of a sudden HW digitizer breakdown though I think that would more likely have occurred while phone in use than while sitting on my mouse-pad.. No matter what, I would really like to exclude any SW related errors before moving to torx-driver surgery! Plz help guys!
Hi seek4
Did you ever find a solution for your touchscreen?

[Q] Modem did not power up (0)

Ok hopefully someone has had this situation and could help me.
I have a Photon (Sprint) wich i actually never have used on Sprint since im International user.
Ive had the photon running on a Sim card for about 3 months now, a few days ago my phone for no reason rebooted and when it was booting up a message appeared " Modem did not power up(0)" so.. i took out the SIM card and the phone started just fine....
So I tried the sim card again with the same results, i already did an SBF reflash, a factory reset.
As long as i dont put in my SIM card it works fine... just if i put i in the modem did nt power up(0) appears...

Where you able to fix it? I had the same problem, and here's all the steps I took once I had the problem:
1)Put in another SIM (an international SIM that does not work in my country)- and phone loaded up fine
2)I powered down phone via the power button and put in my working SIM card in
3) Powered up phone, but received the same message (so, no change)
4) I pull battery and put it back in
5) I Hit DOWN volume button PLUS power and leave them pressed
6)Text appears, I hit volume DOWN button 3 times and then UP volume button
7) More text appears. I wait 30 seconds.
8) I hit power button, but nothing happened.
9) I pulled battery out to turn it off
10) I moved the SIM card a bit, in case it was the sim card that was loose (I turned it into a micro SIM)
11) I power up phone, and it loads fine.

[Q] Streak keeps dying, need help!

I've had my streak for just over a year now so it's sadly out of warranty. The problem I have is out of the blue random apps will fail to work when you start them, then if I reboot the phone it resets itself and on restart loads up as if it's a brand new phone but with setup process error meaning I have to reflash as a reboot or factory reset doesn't fix. Once I've set it all up again after a few days the same thing will happen, it used to do it about once a month for 2-3 months but now it's doing it almost every other day.
I'm scared of turning my phone off as on reboot it resets itself or comes out with errors and reformats itself. I've done numerous factory resets, reset cache, completely wiped the external sd card and checked the internal card in engineering mode but nothing I do seems to fix it.
Any suggestions or will I have to hold out till June when I can get a new phone?
Also I'm running the power rom evergreen edition, it has done the same on gingerstreak as well.
al these symptoms seem to point in the direction of a corrupt inner SD card , i expierenced these problems as well , and as soon as i replaced the inner SD , they dissapeared
Might give that a try then, was it easy to replace?
pretty much all the information you need will be discussed in this video :

i have not done it myself but the dude over at the phone repair shop said it really was just swap work
I had a similar sort of situation when I flashed a ROM some months ago.
I think it was in the setup of the ROM as something went a bit awry in the reboot.
The way I seem to remember resolving it was by taking it right back to stock 2.1 and starting afresh again wiping caches and factory resetting the whole way back to 2.3.

Well I got myself a kingston 4gb class 10 card and cut away a hole in the back to replace the standard card. It's been 2 days now and I've not had a single problem so it looks like it has worked thank god!

phone not registered yet FIX

A simple and easy fix. Replace the sim card from your local ATT store
Back up whatever media files etc you have on your phone.
Do a factory reset
Now your phone should update properly.
This should work for all variants.
This is due to leaving in the sim card while using the flashtool. It messes the sim cards registration with the phone up.
As a reminder whenever doing a reset with flashtool remove sim card or this will happen.
I've never seen the "not registered" message and I've restored via the LG Flash Tool about 7 times in the past 2 days, and I've never taken my SIM out. (It never even occured to me that I might want to.)

Yeah not everyone experiences it but you might want to remove the sim before restoring. Ive done multiple flashes back to stock with the sim in until it gave out on me. Also if reverting back to stock 10d removal of the sim is necessary to rid the error at the end of the flash. It doesnt change anything but its more comfortable seeing a pass instead of fail...
This worked for me, wish I would have known that flash tool deletes all media... Most of my music gone (except what I already backed up, which hadn't been updated in ~4 months) and all of my pictures.. Thank god for Google+ photo sync.. Really wish that the OP of the guide I followed would have mentioned this..
