Menu -> Settings -> Lang&Keyboard -> Touch Input -> Text Input -> Calibration Tool
First do the "Reset Calibration" then do your own calibration is how I did it.

That's for the HTC Keyboard ONLY. THat has no effect on anything else.
And no, there is no way (or need) to calibrate the screen.
The dialog says for the tool says "Calibrate your screen for a better touch experience".
While I did not design the phone or interface, I don't know 100% either way and luckily, it can't hurt.
*If you did code the interface and know for sure, thank you. ;-)
Thanks

Thanks that's what I needed
I wish there was a way to calibrate the touch screen. Anyone else having issues where you press the top thread of SMS and it goes to the 4th one down and then it locks the screen like it's touching there so I can't press anything else? No back button, home button. Only thing that works is locking it then unlocking but sometimes you have to do that 3 to 4 times before it will stop "touching" that same spot. I haven't hard reset yet but if that doesn't work I'm going to have them replace it.
That happened to me a lot with the original evo, not as bad with this one, but it has been off a few times
What does this do? Menu > Settings > Display > G-Sensor calibration

Are you daft? It calibrates the G-sensor, as in the sensor that reads the G forces the phone is being exposed to.

I had MAJOR touch screen problems (not keyboard) and this seems to have fixed them!

Nope I have the option as well. The feature is offered on most stock based roms I believe.

It sounds like your digitizer (touchscreen interface) may be going out. Try to calibrate in the keyboard settings and then calibrate the "g" (accelerometer) sensor. If you're still having issues with p,0 put your phone in landscape mode where the home button is on top and confirm that area of the screen by pressing the comma or space bar. Good luck.

You might also try a Gingerbread Rom as I've noticed the accuracy to sometimes be off on ics Roms, especially near the screen edges. Or, maybe try a different keyboard.

could you elaborate please ?
with cm7.1 i had the light to stay on all the time for some reason/setting, and i couldnt find any settings for 'timeout of soft buttons'. I found a setting for turning off the 2 buttons' lights..but it doesnt always work.
changed the button's values from 255 to 0 in cm7settings>display>aut. backlight>edit other levels. now the soft button led lights are always off.
theres an app called 'screen filter' that can turn them on and off, if one want to keep that app running just for that. its annoying there isnt any proper settings and adjustment of these buttons..

[Q] Screen Calibration

Hi,
I'm sure most noticed that the S2 screen is greenish. Is there any way to calibrate that? Most of the threads I found with that issue have been un-answered.
I am supposed to have a "screen mode" option in Display settings but there's none.
I use the latest cyanogen nightly. The stable version doesn't have that option either.
I couldn't find any app on the market either beside this app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.netmanslab.sa but i'm not sure what to put in and figured the phone needs a gamma tweak not rgb.
Thanks

Portrait-to-landscape problems

I don't know wheter this is accelerometer or gyroscope, but I have problems with moving from portrait to landscape, vice versa. It goes to landscape abnormaly fast, but when I take it up and want it to use in portrait mode, It doesn't want to move, I have to touch the screen and shake phone a bit and then it would change... I accidently entered calibration gyroscope and tamper in there, how to fix that? Help
I place it on the table in the portrait mode, and after like 5 seconds it changes to landscape. Lol

Yes, I did that, again, still the same.
Download a diagnostics app such as Sensor List (vector rotation sensor) or Z-DeviceTest and check that your X-Y-Z axis are actually changing in "real time". If they are, more than likely a ROM issue and not hardware. Edit: In that case, backup, factory reset. If rooted, same, but also wipe cache and dalvil in recovey before flashing ROM in Recovery or Odin.
I recalibrated like 10 times, cleared cache, and now it's ok. I don't know what was wrong.
I have the same problem with LBP, LBH ICS leaks.
When I played Modern Combat3, the kyroscope always get wrong way.

Need help calibrating Gyroscope in Android 5.x.x (VZW S4)

I have firmware OF1 for i545 verizon S4 (5.0.1). Freshly re-flashed and reset to factory.
Bootloader is locked but I have ROOT
There is a calibration on my phone that is off for the Gyro. Looking at any app it gives two values for the gyroscope: calibrated and uncalibrated. The uncalibrated values are more accurate than the calibrated values and I would at the minimum like to delete the calibration file wherever it might be.
Here is the problem...
After updating the phone there is no option to calibrate the gyro.
-Motions and gestures in settings does not have the calibrate option
-secret code *#0*# does nothing
-Suggestion of Nova Launcher > activities in widgets shows no "activities" option in widgets
-Terminal does not have a calibration option in the sensors folder like there is in accelerometer
I'm stuck here. Can't find any apps or any general info on how to calibrate the gyro.
Thanks
Bump
