Oh great.... I don't want to be the person to deliver bad news. But I believe you have screwed up your bootloader stage 1. That means you can button clickyour way into download mode or recovery. Also known as a HARDBRICK. The gingerbread ROM from Samsung comes with new bootloaders, which is always a very risky thing to change. I know a JIG probably won't work but its worth a try. :/ sorry but I think your SOL. Read this actually.

damn this sucks i knew i shouldnt be messing with this kind of stuff from the beging. i just got this phone from somebody off craigslist and now its broken. Do you know if i can send it to samsung or sumtin to get it fixed and what can i tell them to get it fixed
Yeah you can. Just send it in to samsung and say kies screwed it up or something. They should do it. Other wise you will have to break the phone open and do a flash box. Its in that link! Hope you can fix it man :/

ok yeah thanks i think it will be better if i send it to samsung but what is kies and what else do i tell them because i dont want them to be charging me like 400 dollars and i dont think mine is on warranty
Hmm even out of warrenty I bet you would only have to pay 100$ or so.

I am having the EXACT same problem. ODIN failed and it just froze on downloading screen so I had no other choice but to try rebooting the phone but of course, phone is now dead.
I tried putting it on download mode too but will no longer work.
I guess it is bricked unless if anyone has any idea to give life to this thing.
I'm having the exact same problem.. I might try having a professional flash box it, I'll let you know how it goes.
There is a good Samsung unbrick method here, works for Odin I used it 3 times in 20 minutes on my captivate, hold home, volume down, and power, put in USB with Odin running, and it should go into download mode, then reflash.
The worst that will happen is you will still be bricked, there is more info round the site, just gotta read.

Voila....Nice work..People just dont learn...First of all,I am sorry if i sound rude
Good work bricking your phone with ROM MANAGER..ROM Manager DOES NOT support ACE...There has been many posts regarding this but PEOPLE dont learn,do they..
Theres no rescue...A brick with rom manager is irrepairable..Some people were lucky though, they could get into download mode, but sadly, you are not...
Take it to your nearest service center
EDIT:I forgot to tell...THIS IS DEVELOPMENT THREAD NOT BRICK THREAD..GENERAL FORUMS IS THE BRICK THREAD
don't panic, mate. try to use a USB Jig first; DIY if deemed necessary! then if all goes well, then flash away
did you try this?

Btw its should not in dev section
dont mess your phone much
you not read noob guid as rom manager brick ace if you run stock rom without cwm
anyway go to service centre tell its not turn on after factory reset
most of us get it live back from service centre but dont tell you use root or any thing
just tell its happen after factory reset

I agree!! I hard bricked my Ace once.. and nothing switched on. So all i did was take it to the service center, with a sad face and tell them that it suddenly switched off and stopped working.
When they asked what i was doing i simply said i was playing a game and it stopped. What is the game? NFS Shift (coz its quite laggy anyway)
And all they said was ''Alright sir, its a hardware faliure, i think its a motherboard short. We will have it replaced. Will have it for you in three working days.''
Act noobish and DONT say anything Smart!
They have no way of checking for Root/custom roms coz it wont switch on
***IMPORTANT - retain sad face until you exit service center! then go to the middle of the road and jump for joy (yes i did)

No they didn't charged me......my ace was bricked due to rom manager......they changed my phones motherboard ........I told them I was playing suddenly screen went off.......
$π®@£
I Will Not Charge You for pressing thanks.
I too fell in the trap of Rom Manager. I wasn't aware of the fact that ACE is not supported by ROM MANAGER.
I have been trying all methods // Download mode, Button combinations... Odin did recofnize it once but was stuck on 'set connection'... so I tried it again, but it didnt recognize it again.
Hence, now I am forced to take it to Service Centre. Would post my experice too once my ACE returns...
Thanks for the post guys.. this thread really helped..
Cheers !!

Lol, with me was easier, after two days that I had bought my Ace, I updated it to an europe Gingerbread firmware, but my Ace is a brazilian model, so, a few things started to happen, screen flickering, random shutdowns, 3G wasn't working. All I did was taking my phone back to my carrier store (the place where I bought the phone) and I told that the screen was flickering a lot. I wasn't into Android on that time, I really thought it was broken.
The phone was completely stock, the carrier customizations weren't there anymore, the language wasn't the right one. The girl who was helping noticed that my phone was a bit different from the others, but she said "no problem, we will send it back to Samsung" and then she gave me a new phone with the box and everything. Lol.

A friend of mine did that. He broke the mic on his phone with compressed air... Then he hardbricked his phone (i think it was LG optimus 2X, but maybe something else) and paid a little extra for SGS2.
Edit: I've installed dozens of custom roms and tweaks on my ACE. Never have i even gotten a bootloop (i've had some on other phones).. The main thing is to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS and if there arent any than you should google a bit to find out if what you want to do works or not.

[Q] Please help!!!

Hi Guys!!,
I have an S2 and sadly while doing an update through ODIN, it was interrupted in between and got "ODIN FAIL " message. After that, I tried doing a hard reset, soft reset and even connecting my phone to different computers but somehow there seems to be no life in the phone. Good news is, I know there is nothing wrong with the hardware(as i got it checked by a technician). I just want to know how to start the phone, just to see the symbol, so that i can have it reflashed.Battery has also been completly charged , yet no change
Model:- i9100
Please help.. you guys are the only ones who can help

1. Is there any sign of life at all in the phone? Can the phone light up at all?
2. Remove the battery for few minutes ( up to 10mins), the try again if there is sign of life)
If after trying 1 and 2, there is still no sign of life in your phone, then you can simply conclude that Your bootloader has probably been messed up, and therefore your device is hardbricked!
Solution 1:
1. JTAG repair
2. Samsung service repair (free if your device is still under warranty)

I had done over 50 new roms on my galaxy note so im not to new to these.. anyways I downloaded the latest slim rom and the latest gapps.. i did full swipe 3 times plus dalvik and cache like I do usually and i installed a fresh copy of the slim rom plus the gapps.. as soon as the gapps finished the installation my phone went blank.. i tried to restart but nothing not even the vibration just blank screen.. i meant that not even trying to start up, i have two fully charge batteries and nothing .. it wont even go into recovery with power and the two volume keys.. please advice.. i never encountered a situation like these..
thanks in advance for any help//
I plug the phone to the charger and nothing.. its completely dead.!
Most likely installed rom version for a different device. There is no "new" version for our note i717 that i am aware of. So your best bet is JTAG for about $50 at mobiletechvideos.com.

Im wondering if the file is labeled incorrectly...
We have seen that issue in the last few weeks...
So is download mode gone for Sure? ??
The link is good but there are no ROM downloads for the newest release for the I717 at the moment. There is for the N7000 and I777 though. Sounds like you installed a ROM not made for the I717.

Yes, you can recover your phone. Just get your fifty dollars and phone to the JTAG guy and it will be back in a week.
I just got the 39.99 jtag service with dr-CELL SEE HOT IT GOES... Thanks for all your support!!
Best of luck OP....
It's a bad day when a device locks up ...
I joined XDA after thinking I knew more than I really did.
I was helping a friend with root on an HTC evo.......and missed a critical step, causing a hard brick.
No JTAG there ....so I said I'm sorry, and we got in my truck and drove too the Verizon store.
$375.00 later, he was up and going again.....(and I was much lighter in the wallet )
Ever since, I've been here trying to help others to avoid the same mistake I made.
Since then, I read everything 5 times before using it, and I'll even contact the developer if I have questions.
I'm never afraid to ask questions, and I stop if that "feeling" hits me with doubt.
Please post here when the phone comes back if you can.
We hate those bricks, but we love a good success story too ....g
