I planning to move to UL bootloader + Doomkernel + WBV7b6 ROM.
Also With almost few months into WBV7 , the phone is quite sluggish due to apps, So i want to use Link2SD to freeup some space (internal memory) so that the phone is little faster , So will Link2SD be compatible with above said config ?
More over can anyone give a pathway from my current config to above said one.. ie what should i do first ? UL the bootloader first ? or flash the kernel ?
I have downloaded flastool (113MB) and Unlocked Bootloader Doomlord WBV7b6 ROM (85MB) so far , so just waiting for someone to guide me on how to proceed. Also WB said I need to download Doomlords Kernel for unlocked Bootloader , but there are 3 different kernels , which one do you guys think is good ? or stable ?
I downloaded the full overclock version, then with something like SetCPU you can change the frequencies to suit your phone. Mine kept rebooting at the full overlock but was happy at a notch down.
Don't forget to download the wifi module to your phone and flash it from xrecovery.

Thanks , but how to proceed from my current config ? what should i do first ?
hi naveen,
first step would be to unlock boot loader. search for "bootloader bypass proper x10" to see how this is done. there is more than one way.
then flash doom kernel and the correct baseband
then install the ROM.

I am on .71 baseband. Should i have to restart after this , or after ULBL ?
Can anyone tell me how in detail , like restarting the phone , etc etc
Unlocked the BL and installed the WB ULBLdoom ROM via Xrecovery and then pulled out the battery and flashed the Doomkernel via flashtool , now the phone starts , but hangs at doomkernel loadpage
What version of doomkernel did you use? use the failsafe version and see if it boots.
Dont know , restarted a few times , then restarted again with FLASHTOOL running , and fortunetly it booted.. blazing fast now , but its all because of more internal ram available .
@cr4zypo3t
How to install link2SD ? does it have any bug or issues ? . Last time the phone came to a crawl due to too much of apps running from internal memory , ie why i want o move them to SD .. please can you help me on that.
open Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, there some applications will have the option to "move to SD card". This is native.
i don't use links2sd. Links2sd can work but there is hot-fix you have to apply. This is mentioned in Wolfbreak's thread (additional downloads or somewhere). Also, i don't think moving applications to SD card will help in the way you have described. You may see improvement if you remove unnecessary system apps though.
does apps 2 sd (market app) will help me ? Also some say that i need to partition something, to use links2sd , is it so , or just use the hotfix given by WB and straightaway use links2sd ?
I want to remove FB , apps and games app , twitter , timescape , infinite viewer from WB ROM , how to do it ?
Thanks a lot for replying cr4zypo3t
I restarted to install links2sd , but again hangs on DL boot screen , also how to enter into xrec or is it replaced with CWM ?
Oh yes. I forgot, you need to partition your SD card to use links2sd. The second partition must be ext2, and you will have to completely format the SD card while partitioning(i.e will lose data on the card). The hot-fix is also required. In my opinion Links2SD can be avoided by moving the app to SD card as I had described earlier.
To remove the apps install ES file explorer(free app) or root explorer(paid app) and in their respective settings mount /system as R/W. You can find the system apps in /system/app/. You can simply delete them. Be sure to make back-up in case something goes wrong. There is a thread on this forum that lists which all apps are safe to remove. Find it using search function.
Other option is using flashtool. It has a 'clean' option that can be used to (reversibly) remove system apps. Once you get to the list of system apps, use ctrl-click to select multiple system apps and press clean. It may get stuck on some apps so pull the phone and don't select that app next time. It will reboot the phone once it has removed all the apps. It stores them on you pc before deleting them, so even if you accidentally remove a required app, you can put back.
To enter xrecovery press the back button when you see blue LED upon booting. You can enter CWM/doom's CWM by pressing vol. up or vol. down keys.
When it is stuck on DL logo, is the LED glowing white? If not just reflash wolfbreaks ROM.

Thanks a lot for the replies .. also , is there a way to change the default dialer , i mean , i use Ex Dialer (MIUI based) , but when i call , it send it to the default dialer which kind of sucks.
Also is there a way to disable , "Data Traffic- data traffic is disabled" notification ? It kind of bugs me

I am glad i could help.
by just moving them you cannot access these apps when the sd card is mounted. since links2sd uses a separate partition, you can use the apps even when sd card is mounted.
yes, the freeze option is simpler
I don't know about either of those things.

Hi, I need your help about the following issue: I successfully install Cyanogenmod 9 on the Atrix and everything works fine except the internal storage. My phone don't use the internal 10GB memory.
At the moment I can't use several apps ( gallery and camera over all ), Music is the only app working properly. It gives back this message "No storage - No external storage available", the point is I want the Atrix to use internal storage.
I can easly see and browse /emmc by the terminal emulator; for this reason I don't think it to be something involving permissions to enter or use /emmc.
In Settings Menu I can't find any option to properly mount the internal sd ( can only see the memory status ).
Thank you for replies.

I have already tried but nothing happened - just the vibration pushing the menu button in settings-storage. It seems there's no menu in settings-storage.
You need to go to Settings > Advanced > Use internal storage.
After you check marked it, reboot and you are done. :]
Its in the settings-->storage---> storage settings-->bottom of page to storage location--> make sure its on internal storage

Storage menu only shows some status bars about the memory usage. I can't see any option.
Maybe those options have been deleted in CM 9/ics.

Not yet, never heard of that. Can you link me something about that?
edit:
I've Installed the sd switch script but nothing changed. I think i'll try formatting and installing Jokersax v 0.5.1 to be sure i am using the last version.
It's on his homepage. Scroll down, download the zip, flash in cwm.
Wait, the internal storage is detected in cwm, right? And it does mount on Windows/Mac/Linux/whatever-os-you're-using?

Script installed, but nothing changed. The storage mounts properly on Windows. I can browse it also inside android ( via terminal emulator or file manager without difficulty ).

EDIT:
Great News! I was not using Jokersax's last rom. Now i have selected internal storage in settings-advanced and everything works fine.
Thank you all for the help.
Now that I've solved the internal storage problem i would like to ask you some questions.
The first is about the camera: i know there are still problems with jokersax rom and the camera application. There are some external apps to record video or shoot photos without lag or freezing issue?
Second, I tried to see some videos recorded with the motoblur camera ( gingerbread ) and the video stream has a looot of lag. Do i have to get some external codec or anything else? There is already any solution to this problem?
Third and last question, the default browser seems to crash sometimes after display frame rotation and doesn't work properly with some flash application. Solutions?
Thank you for your attention.

#1: Try using videocam illusion for videos, idk if it works with his latest build though.
#2: Try using a 3rd party aplication like Mobo player.
#3: Browser rotation hasnt been fixed yet, well it has but its only in the kitchen sink rom
as an option since it still has a.couple bugs. As for flash issues, make sure.you have.the latest version of flash installed.

Hey guys,
I have Galaxy S3 i9300 running on SlimBean 4.2.2 Build 8 + Googy Max 1.7.9.
My problem with the device is that the UI stutters/jitters a lot. Even scrolling is laggy and clunky, and stutters while loading images or any other media. Browsing Kotaku, with the site's over abundance of GIFs as main article images, is impossible. Even some transitions, like bringing the notification menu down, has a noticeable jitter.
Why is this happening? I have no useless apps, no task killers, or memory boosters. Any help on this will be appreciated!
Makes more sense to ask the Dev via your roms thread.
I should have mentioned this but I have tried a number of other ROMs, and they all give me the same problem.
Did you try wiping everything(syste, data, dalvik, etc)? Also what recovery are you using? Every info about the devices software and hardware is needed to understand what is wrong.
Remove EXT SD CARD and test
In recovery format cache system data and sd card .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom ( read faqs and guides first )
Test >>>>problems its hardware no problems its the custom roms you are using .
Maybe seeder will help?

I wonder if its something to do with the availability of the RAM? It's unusually low - it used to hover around 300MB free, but now it's barely 100 to 150mb. Also, as shown in the pics below, the two places show completely different RAM availability:

I believe to have fix the problem.
Things I did:
- Deleted ClickUI icon pack
- Changed the Wallpaper from ClickUI to a one downloaded from Google Images
- Turned off BBM always-on icon
- Changed governor to Peagus
- Set process limit to 3
Now I am not sure which combination of the above steps solved the issue, but I will toy around to see what I can turn on and off without affecting performance.
Tips for better performance and battery life of your phone.
Hi guys. I have decided to reopen this thread and share some of my tips to you (thanks to forum moderator). You find here basic easy tips, but also something more difficult. I do this specially for less experienced users, so any suggestion from others I will appreciate.
So let's start!
For performance:
For non-rooted devices
So, here, I can suggest you only keep your device clean. That mean, unnistaling unused applications, clearing cache, close recent apps. I don't believe any ram cleaners/boosters, because in most cases, they slow devices by running like process, instead they're helpful.
For rooted devices
Here we have a really more possibilities but also keeping clean device is a best option. When you're rooted, you can removere bloatware, or some preinstalled apps, which you don't use (recommended app Link2SD). In Google playstore exist a lot useful apps to get more from your device. My favorites are Root Booster and Kernel Audiutor to set up your device. In addition, on xda exist a lot of good threads for G2 mini, which are helpful. To increase multitasking you can use virtual memory - swap (If this method didn't work for you, you should try THIS). But, best options below.
For rooted&unlocked bootloader&TWRP installed devices
IMPORTANT! - before any modification have nandroid backup!
If you get here without any brick, now you can get most of your phone. So, here you can flash mods/tweaks to increase your performance like L SPEED MOD or ABS (for me best mods). It's good to try some customs roms (find here) or also try good kernels, which support zram (in my opinion better than swap). Just, do some research!
For Battery life:
For non-rooted devices
I'm repeat myself, just keep cleaned your device. Here is important to have a fewest background process as possible. So try don't use battery hunger apps. You can find apps which are draining your battery (in settings or use app Wakelock detector) and at least disable them. From battery extended apps i can suggest you Greenify, which is in my opinion the best effective app for battery. But don't forget, battery also depends on your usage and your brightness level.
For rooted devices
Still remember, what i write above. Here is it similar like in performance section for rooted devices. What's more, in stock rom I recommended download app Kernel Audiutor and set your cpu minimum frequency to 300 mhz (don't forget to set on boot), because minimal frequency of stock rom is 787 mhz.
For rooted&unlocked bootloader&TWRP installed devices
Here I can suggest you this thread. Also Xposed with some modules can be helpful. When you have custom kernel, I recommended set governor in Kernel Audiutor on interactive (best) or conservative. Custom roms and kernels will be always good choice for battery life, just give a try!
PS: On XDA exist a lot of good mods for your phone, so just search them!
My results:
I get about 5 hours on screen with medium usage and two days battery life. Also I'm able to do pretty good multitasking ( For example seeing Facebook, chating, listening music without lags) and in Antutu Benchamark I get score about 22 000 .
If you have any ideas, suggestions, tips etc. , post it here!
I think, is everything, what i can give you.
I hope this was useful for you and it helps you.
Good luck, to get the most from your device!
Zdravo, brate, thanks for the advices but i have a question, my G2 mini restarts all the backgrounds apps for example if i write something in this window then switch lets say to chrome for 2 seconds the previous app just starts over. It's the only thing i hate about my g2 mini.

Hi that is wierd Do you do install something on your phone? For example some mod or app. Try find out it. Also, you can go to settings, developer options, scroll down and chceck your limit of background process Or find something, what could be wrong But be careful, what you change
I didn't even root it, i only have basic stuff, and i also didn't limit background processes. Same behaviour on both kitkat and lollipop, even with factory reset.

I do some reserach about perfomance and battery life, and i want to suggest you some tricks and advices.
Please read these instuctions carefuly, this is safe metod, but always can something happen. So, be careful. If you dont understand these insturctions, dont do this I'M NEW, SO LINKS DIDN'T WORK FOR ME SO I WILL NAVIGATE YOU. It's easy, don't worry
BETTER PERFORMANCE:
Lg g2 mini come with zram 215 mb, we will increase it to 380 mb using two files (98 swap data,98 swap system). This will help you to do better multitasking and you will have less lags. But dont forget, you are the boss of your phone, so if you don't take care about it, you will get lags. Of course, that you can get more zram using 98 swap cache file, but this didn't work for me.
What do you need:
1.root - I have d620r android 5.0.2 rooted with kingroot
2.busybox- download in google play
3.support init.d - in google write "uni init v1.0 apk" and download it from first link
4.root browser- download in google play
5.script manager - download in google play
6.scripts- write "uloz.to" in google and tap first link. Then search "98 swap file" (dont worry about this website, is verified slovakia download site )
7.diskinfo - download in google play
Instructions:
1. Make sure you are rooted.
2. Extract 98 swap file and put that two files on sd card. Also "uni init v1.0 apk" put on sd card.
3. Instal busybox, then reboot
4. install "uni init v1.0 apk" ,open it and install init.d folder, then reboot
5.install root browser, open it,give it root permissions, and make sure that in system/etc/ is init.d folder. If it exist, you're on good way.
6. use root browser and copy 97 swap data and 98 swap system to system/etc/init.d. Then hold finger on 97 swap data, find permisions and check all squares. Do same with 98 swap system.
7.install script manager, open it,give it root permissions (don't forget to tick browse as root) and go to system/etc/ init.d. open 97 swap data and tap on "su" and "boot" and check "is executable" and then, tap on "run". Do same with 98 swap system. Then reboot.
8 install diskinfo app, open it, and if you have swap 380 mb, congratulation, you succesfully increase performance of your phone But dont UNINSTALL script manager, because after that, scripts wont works.
Also, i recommended app seeder and link2sd (remove bloatware).
BETTER BATTERY LIFE:
Also exist some scripts for that, but i don't testet them yet
What do you need:
1. Greenify - download in google play
2.Kernel auditor - download in google play
3. Wakelock detector - download in google play
Instructions :
1. Instal wakelock detector and find out which apps are drain your battery.
2 Install Greenify and hibernate some "battery hunger apps" or uninstall that apps.
3 Install Kernel auditor and set up cpu frequencies to max 1190 mhz and min 384 mhz. Set these settings on boot.
4. Than go to cpu hotplug and uncheck it. (set frequencies will work)
Also, I recommended close recent apps.

hi yes, you've right, lags phone, but only when swap file is on sd card. This is swap file in internal memory, so speed of read of this swap is fast. hi yes, you've right, lags phone, but only when swap file is on sd card. This is swap file in internal memory, so speed of read of this swap is fast. Reactions of phone are improved and also multitasking I get better score in antutu benchmark too (19234) You have'right about swap cache but this didn't work for me, so you can try it

let me correct myself: it does not lag, it was just minute after reboot so that's why it could lag.
i got 600mb swap in cache so now i got 300mb for cache.
works like a charm, i recommend this af

Hmmm, i don't know, i don't have that problem, after reboot, iam able to use my mobile phone after aproximmately 30 seconds. Of course, that system must loading applications and other things, so it takes some time, but that is noting horrible, isn't it? Yes, swap in cache is really good, maybe is better, but iam repeat, this didn't work for me. When i run script 98_swap_cache_file_v300, a get some error about swap.img.
I have swap 380 mb and it is far better than 215 mb.

Hi, my internal storage is full. The system data uses 4GB. I just want to know if this is normal. I though that the system partition is not part of this, so 4GB seems to be quite a lot for only data. I have 2GB on system apps and 2 GB on own apps. Is there any way I can find out which system part is using so much space?
I would like to post a screenshot of the storage from the app 'DiskUsage', but I am not yet allowed to post links/images.
I am using official CM13 (nightly 20160529), TWRP recovery, stock kernel.

Clicking on what occupies space in your Storage/USB will tell you where your storage is being used up.
Don't need privileges, just upload your screenshot on Imgur and post a link with spaces and stuff like: www. imgur .com/ abcd (The person will know to remove spaces in the link)

Good suggestion. This is what 'diskusage' says that occupies the space: postimg .org/ image/ptedpajfv/

There. Your Media takes up 2GB itself. Delete the CM downloads and move the WhatsApp images/videos if you wish.
System data could also mean CM updates, go into the updater in Settings > About and use the "Delete builds" option.
Go into Settings > Storage & USB and then take a screenshot and post it.
That app makes no sense to me, sorry.

I know media takes 2GB, but I don't think that is that much. I just deleted the CM downloads, but that didn't change much. Here is the screenshot of 'storage & USB'. It shows practically the same, but without the system data. The values also don't sum add up to 10GB.
