Returning this. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

OK. Its obvious by now. After having 3 Android tablet I can say they crap. IPad 2 winner. Never lags. And always work fine. This new super duper quad core tablet its a joke. Lags when playing music. Flash performance pathetic or maybe the browser ****ty. The only good thing its playing games. That the ipad 2 does it great too. No more Android tablets. They all suck ! Returning this for a iPad 2. Didn't want to but **** it. I have no GPS or screen bleeding or wifi issues. My issue is overall performance. No worth it.

It doesn't lag for me. Did you read the manual first? You might not be using it right.

It's a personal choice! if you don't like it maybe you need to return it.

I do like the form and stuff. But performance wise its not doing it. Since very first day I noticed ****ty performance.

I've had an iPad 2 since release and am now seeking out a TFP. My iPad 2 and my wife's iPad 2 have had nothing but horrible wifi issues since we got them. It got to the point where I had to put in a second router just for the iPads because they would drop constantly from my dual channel Netgear. They seemed to work with the Linksys. I even swapped out the hardware and it still dropped every 30 seconds or so. Fortunately it seems that 5.0.1 or one of the other updates fixed this, but I had to live with it for over 6 months with no acknowledgement from Apple.
Also, iPad wifi version doesn't even have GPS.

Ok. Maybe im allitle bias towards android BUT. I find with apple products, their great for the average user. Which is perfect for id say 90% of people. But for me (and id say most android users) like the freedom that android provides. Like say themes, custom roms, overclocking, and just general settings. So androids not for everyone. Thats fine, so have fun with your lock pad. (I meant that in a funny tone)

I agree with Husker, guy seems to want to start an iPhad argument. And as Jrock says, it's had its share of issues too. This guy can't even wait till it gets its intended OS = ICS. Honey Comb is on this just so it doesn't go out the door blank. If it sucks that bad, I'll buy it from you right now for 3/4 of what you paid, after all it does have your grubby fingerprints all over it and apparently its a pos.

My thoughts too.
One of my uses for a tablet is video (TV shows or movies) when traveling for business. iPad or iPad 2 will never fit my needs for this with it's old acquainted 4:3 display.

3 Android tablets all running Honeycomb. What did he expect? At least see how Ice Cream performs on a tablet.
Looks like it's on his Galaxy Nexus he used to submit his comments. He might as well sale his Galaxy Nexus for an iPhone 4S (wait it does not have 4G). To use his language then the iPhone 4S must be a load of Crap.

EVO 3D owners who bought Tablets?

I've considering a Tablet for the past month. Debating between the Galaxy Tab 10.1, iPad 2 (if I sell my iPod Touch 4) & Eee Transformer.
The latter looks like it will be the best but I want to hear your experiences. Not getting any 3G/4G models as I'll be tethering it via my EVO 3D.
Too bad the HP Touchpad is too hot for the shelves.

I honestly love the transformer. Didn't think I would use it much but I bought it and then the dock a few days later and sold my netbook. The battery life is what drew me to it and the price. I returned the ipad 2 cause I wanted my paid apps plus it just didn't do it for me even though its a great piece of hardware. I use my TF all night at work tethered to my Co workers evo and couldn't be happier. Honeycomb has its flaws for sure but most can be overcome with apps for now and its getting better with every update.

The xda member with the Dexter avatar was telling me how he enjoyed his TF and he may have just said enough for me to have one on my dining room table by the end of the month. Our house hold has quite a few android phones and tablets but that transformer is really attractive.

I dunno, the TF feels very cheap to me. I have both the iPad 2 and Galaxy 10.1 but if I had to choose I'd go with the 10.1.

Like MyTouch 3G cheap or sturdier? I have to ask because the 2 tablets you own have a very high build quality.
BTW, damn you are an OG member, never seen a '04 XDA member.
Transformer for sure if you're looking for productivity. That's assuming you buy the dock which has an extra battery, usb ports and a regular sized SD port in it. And its super easy to root and almost impossible to brick!

Yeah the Keyboard dock will be in tow, that's what appealed to me. The fact that it's a battery extender, keyboard with touchpad & that it operates via the connector, vs bluetooth really made me love this more.
The low cost is icing the cake for me.
The Galaxy tab and Transformer both have a lot going for them but I think I will wait until toshiba's AT200 drops and decide then.

I got an iPad and a MOTO tablet (xoom ) I like honeycomb is a nice OS , but I prefer my iPad , it has better apps and games, some apps are expensive like numbers bit Damn they couldn't make it any easier to do spreadsheets easier, email is so nice to see and YouTube as well, battery life is outstanding , and i like mgs as well so is great to have the game on my iPad , I wouldnt buy games like Angus birds hd I already have it on my iPhone so is not worth the extra bucks , I wish tapatalk would be like email app to see threads tho but overall great device they have some cheaps docks online , keyboard might cost you a bit if you want one , overall great device having an EVO , iPhone and iPad is the perfect combination for me
Might consider android tablet when ics comes out but as of now iPad is good for me

I'm using the TouchPad with my E3D and of course got it during the first day of the FireSale. However I think it does depend on your funds and what you'll be using it for. Money/Productivity wise I would go with the TF. Being able to remote into your PC plus the keyboard dock is awesome.

You own the 1st or the 2nd iPad?
I've been considering the iPad 2, since I do like to have devices with different OS & I do have quite a few iOS apps but mostly because I was paid to use iOS in a software trial using the iPod Touch 4.
My only gripe is the Home UI, file management & iTunes.

Home UI doesn't bug since is a table is.not like my phone, I don't mind itunes , sometimes you think you'll could do more if you could handle any file but it doesn't bug me much, I got the original iPad I got the iPad 2 but I felt like it wasn't worth it at the time and still don't, the original iPad is really good device and the camera and the proccesor doesn't convince me, but that's your descion, I think having two diferent OS is good because you have nice features on both and battery life seems better on ipads then android tablets that I seem , the screen looks really good too

Not being a ****..... Just wondering if I missed anything.

I had an Epic 4G and recently got a TouchPad. After a week or two with the TouchPad I finally got an Evo 3D. Ever since I've rarely used the TouchPad except for a certain game and to show off my TouchPad.
The newer transformers, model b70 which is selling now cannot be rooted. It has a new boot loader. I have a older one without dock and its okay. I bought to have flash...now I am waiting for the new kel- el versions instead of the tegra 2 chipset. Don't have any experience with the galaxy. I also have a iPad one I use. I switch between those two at home and for the road..I use my color nook because of the portability. I don't nave a favorite, they all suck somewhat in my view, iPad strength is software battery life. Transformer strength is cost( but newer ones remember are locked) . If I where you..hold off for a few months till the new chipset comes out..the kal-el as I mention.
I was wanting to sell my iPad . What android tab get the most development.

i had a wifi xoom but honestly, it's got some market downloading issues(honeycomb related) plus sd card is read only and there aren't as many apps available in tablet version... to me i felt it was unnecessary since i have a 15" macbook pro. I couldn't for the life of me find a word processing app to type papers... so i retured it within my 14 days...
I've been rocking the 32 GB Acer Iconia wifi version for about 3 months now! It's a pretty solid creature and it's all but replaced the need for a laptop. (though my PC is still up and running... Tablets really can only do so much)
There's really good development for it here at xda (Vache's Taboonay is my ROM of choice... He was developing for the Acer Liquid E when I first came onto the android scene, and knowing he was developing for the Iconia was one of my reasons for choosing it) His kitchen is full of goodies too (we all love goodies, don't we? )
I like the full sized usb port for using thumb drives, external hard drives and usb keyboard/mouse... Even my old Sony Cybershot was instantly detected, plus the HDMI out is a sweet feature. It's really fast and stable. I've been alternating between Polaris and Docs to Go for word processing and spreadsheets, and in my line of work (chef), I find it really useful for inventory, orders, recipe organization, scheduling, etc. It's better than hauling a laptop around.
Just yesterday, I found out how to wired-tether my evo to share data without having to enable the hotspot. All in all, I'm extremely happy with it!
I've seen a heck of a lot of bad press about it, but can't for the life of me understand why. Head over to the Iconia page, and read what other users have to say. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1133 It's quite popular among those of us who have given it a shot. I think it's something of a hidden gem among better known brands.

Is the original transformer still good?

Is the original transformer still a good piece of electronic?
Or is it way outdated?
Wondering to save up the extra 340$ and buy a prime.
I will only use it for browser and note-taking, + some small apps.
Not really. Nothing against the first Transformer, but specially Tegra 2 is outdated. The Prime is much better and worth every cent.
Sure, it is still a good device. Just a slower processor, heavier, thicker and no super IPS.
I have a prime and an original transformer, and other than the awesome weight and feel of the prime, I like my original transformer better. In my opinion, the Prime was rushed out too early, and has too many flaws at the moment. My original transformer works brilliantly.
Is the original transformer laggy?
Yes ofc... TF101 isnt smooth and ui is often laggy... choppy animations etc.
Tegra 2 has not enough power with 1280x800 resolution. Prime with Tegra 3 is much better, better screen ips +, better cpu, gpu, camera with led, better speakers, aluminium, thiner, etc etc etc.

I think that if you focus on how "smooth" the UI is on the original Transformer, then you'll notice lag. If, however, you just USE the thing without focusing so closely, you'll find that it's actually a pleasure to use. I think the whole "laggy UI" thing is very much the result of the same kind of mentality that focuses so hard on artificial benchmarks. For example, I have a Motorola Photon that benchmarks slower than my Samsung Epic 4G Touch, but in actual use I don't notice a performance difference unless I squint.
That said, the thing about the Prime that I'm looking forward to is the extra brightness from the IPS+ screen so I can finally use the thing outside on my back porch (I live in SoCal, and the whole "Sunny California" thing isn't just marketing). To me, that's a more meaningful difference between the Prime and the original Transformer than any sort of "lagginess"...

Don't have the Prime yet but the original tf is really good. The main flaws are video decoding and honeycomb ****ty browser but ICS should make it a really worthwhile.

Its funny people talk about tegra 2 being outdated, when there are not many programs for it. You can't even get apps like hbogo and maxgo to work on it. It doesn't matter to me whose fault it is. I have the galaxy 7plus and I can't get madden or nfs hot pursuit to work on it. Great hardware lousy support. Imagine the fewer tegra 3 apps out for this yet. Yes I'm ranting.

hbogo works perfectly on my tegra2 Motorola Atrix4g. I have it. it wouldn't show up in marketplace for the prime though. I might try emailing the apk from my phone to the prime and see if it'll install that way.
for basic use, it's perfectly fine, just a little chunkier and heavier.
the prime is more future proof though being newer hardware, but it really comes down to what you're going to use it for.
Depending on what you want to do with it, the TF101 is still a perfectly useful tablet. I gave my old TF to my woman and she uses the crap out of it. She uses it primarily as a media consumption device with light gaming and occasional note-taking in class.
Just because there's a newer version out doesn't automatically make the previous model obsolete. If a device works for you and does everything you need it to do...why chase after anything else?

I have both, and intended to wipe my TF and give it to the Mrs. and keep the TFP.
I am now seriously considering taking the TFP back and getting another TF.
Im not impressed with the TFP at all. I honestly feel that the TF is less laggy, and since I dont use it to play games (use it almost exclusively for remote office) the TF has served me very well with its dock.
If I cant get a TFP dock by the end of the week, I will be returning it.

Based on your stated use you are absolutely fine, even if you go a good deal further you are still absolutely fine. The only reason other than some aesthestics and the I can beat an IPAD reasoning is the price difference. If you are paying 399 versus 499 you should probably get the prime. If you are getting it for less which it looks like get the original.

If you own a note or any android device why would you,,,

Own a iPad just curious to your reasons I'm not hating and not a fanboy I actually have 2 iPads in my house but I had them before I got into android and for me android is far superior to apple and it just seems to me if you like the iPad why wouldn't you just get a iPhone I plan on getting a tablet maybe the note 10.1 and was wondering why android users choose iPads over tabs because I see a lot of mentions of iPad around before I go out and purchase my android tab
Simplicity, that's why I think others get an iPad. I love Android for its customization but some people just want the directness of an iPad. You can get to things quicker with a custom Android when you know what you like but the iPad has a simple UI that anyone can understand.

I have no interest in any Apple products. I have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and now the Note. To me there is no comparison between Android devices and anything Apple has produced thus far. This is just my preference but I am strongly against Apple for various reasons.
I plan on getting the note tab it seemed weird to hear about all the pad owners around here i was getting second thoughts on getting the note tab it only seems natural i would love it since i like my note so much

Well here are my observations:
Android phones are superior in some ways the biggest is the ability to customize the user experience.
Android tablets are far inferior to iPads. I don't believe this to be a hardware function of the devices. THe issue is the OS.
Gingerbread for a tablet FAIL
Honey Comb for tablet is 70% there huge improvement
Ice Cream Sandwich for tablet TBD
I simply think its the OS of Android that has held the device back from major acceptance. I believe we are just a few steps away from making the choice pure choice. For today Android is almost there.
IOS will always win for the basic user who wants consistency and that where Apple excels. Consistency and simplicity gives the win yet in the end (a few versions away) the Power User will be Android unless Apple revises its vision.
Just my opinion.
Easy, I have a wife and kids. The iPad is just so easy to work my 4yr old daughter knows how to use it (though she can't spell). Apple products allow little to no customization so the experience is the same for anyone picking up an Apple product, so it is just easier to use.
I personally don't like Apple because of that but I need something for the rest of the family to use or it becomes a major headache for me
I have an ipad. It has just about been gathering dust since I got the Note.

Personally i own one because i originally came from the iphone over a year ago. I had built up such a large amount of ios apps that i needed a device to use them on so i didnt feel they were wasted.
The second reason is because i do ios development and it is nice to have a device to test on.
Like the others have said, apple products are easy to use and are consistent. They release an update and unless youre on a device they no longer support you know you get it. Everything just works and the simplicity of installing apps, music, video, and even backups are easier.
I tried as hard as i could to talk my dad into switching to droid but i lost and he got a 4S. He is so familiar with ios he is afraid to change.

I am a proud owner of a Galaxy Nexus, and Galaxy Note , and my 4s is currently in its box in the drawer for the past 2 months. Android is really pushing the bar in terms of specs and devices. When I look back at my 4s it really looks like a little glass toy... Still works great but I just got too bored with it. I love big giant vibrant screens and ics is so smooth and stable now, I just love it! Can't wait to get it on my note.

I completely agree. I love Android... and I love iOS, but it's just not for me. I personally bought an Iphone 4s for my father (72 years old) because I know he will enjoy it more than my Galaxy Note. Point being, he wants things to be simple that "can't break"... at least minimal chance of messing up by him. So to each his own. I love Android because I can play my classic SNES games hooked up to a HDTV using a Wiimote and A2DP sound to my headset through my Galaxy note. Try doing that with an Iphone/Ipad =D

I'd love the have an Android Tablet I currently own an iPad 1 and 2. I have owned and returned the Xoom and Samsung 10.1. Honestly the current OS for Android is like a beta or alpha version compared to IOS (which I hate). IOS is smooth and responsive I wish I could say that for Honeycomb. In the end Android will be superior and when that happens I will be the first to buy one.
My next attempt to go Android with a Tablet will be the 10.1 Note. I have high hopes.
i have a ipad2 because it was free, my boss gave it to me for christmas and he also pays for the data plan, i could of chose a android tab but i knew i was going to mainly be using my ipad for work, the battery life on the ipad is nuts, i dont charge it more then twice a week if that and i use it all day while working. thats why i have a ipad.
but when im home im either on my note or my photon.

Now this is funny. I have zero lag on my tablet and it had all that was needed for someone to start out new on a device like that in terms of apps. I quickly connected to the Android Market and voila ... apps galore. End of story.

Just to set some people straight that don't realize what they are getting here.

I keep hearing that this is not a bargain like the $199 Nexus 7 or $309 Nexus 4 but it really is.
First, you are getting the highest resolution mobile screen EVER. Second, the dual core A15 is the first of its kind if you don't include the chromebook and will not be used in most mobile devices until mid 2013 at least. Third, they managed to make it only 8.9mm thin, something that Apple couldn't do for the new ipad's. Four, it is one of the only 3 devices running Android 4.2. All that for $399.
It is a steal and in some ways even more of a bargain than the other two.
Ignore this post if you are aware, this is for the people that can't see why this is any different than all the other 10 inch Android tablets.
Sounds good but if no optimized apps for tablets I will wait on the fence still and see what happens if apps look the same on n10 as they do on my note 2 then what's the point.

I have both devices. They are a good combination. But every app on Nexus 10 looks better.
For some reason I find myself on my dad's iPad 4 rather than my Nexus 10. Apple is def doing something right.

I have the n7 and the n 10 ipad2 and just sold my galaxy tab 7.7.
Not all apps look better on the N 10. For example the Engadget app does not scale, yet.
Out of all the tablets i have owned the n7 is the best. However I am getting the note 2 on Monday and I suspect it will be my go to device, then the n 10, and finally my laptop.
Another couple of years and they will have finally have a tablet that can be used for work and play, not there yet.

The point is that the Nexus 10 does web browsing, the main use of a tablet for most, bigger and sharper and has the horse power to push it extremely smoothly.
No one says I have a cell phone, what is the point of a 55 inch TV, my apps look the same on it. Why would anyone say that here?
10 inch is the sweet spot like Steve Jobs said in my opinion. Laptop is too clunky and the Nexus 7 and Note are too small. That is my opinion.
To me, an android phone is the best (love my S3 to death). But for a tablet, iOS is the best. I decided to return my nexus 10 since Im not patient enough. I got frustrated with apps on the nexus 10. Apps do not look good and run well on the nexus for now (this will be fixed, of course). But apps for ipad are also much better. ALso never think more pixels are better. WHat matters is its contrast and color accuracy. More pixels only drain the battery.

actually apps will look different on the nexus. specificly, they look worse since they haven't been optimized for high resolution screen .. yet
These arguments are pretty pointless. The notion that there must be a one great almighty device that trumps all seems silly to me. They're both great, just buy which one fits your needs. Its a tablet you use to watch YouTube, its not a big deal.

There is no denying that the iPad 4 is the best all-around tablet out there - build quality, performance, smoothness, tablications, battery life, everything is cool. I'm buying the Nexus 10 however because:
- better bang for the buck, the $100 it's cheaper can be use for the surely coming keyboard dock
- 16:10 - if you're not watching video content why even go for 10", the AR is a nice compromise between 16:9 and 4:3
- Adobe Flash - be honest, you'll miss live streaming and all the flash-based content, and it's not going away anytime soon, N10 runs it well
- extras: higher res screen, NFC, USB-OTG possibilities (media play without root), front-facing quality speakers, lighter weight

I don't agree with these two points. I bought a 10 inch tablet mainly for Web browsing. My note 2's size is just fine for videos but not for heavy web browsing.
And the Nexus 10 doesn't support Flash natively, you need to sideload the apk and download a third party browser. On the ipad there are pretty decent Flash-supporting browsers so it's a tie in this area.

Flash is a dying/dead platform on Android, so no big loss there IMHO. And the sooner it's gone completely, the better it is - Flash had its place but today it's just a bloated and very dangerous piece of crap software.
Of course you would make a thread like this lol. The moderators must be getting tired of closing these things...
Who gives a flying frack what the app "looks" like!! Does it do what it is supposed to do? Does it do it fast? Do movies look better than just about anything else out there? Is the sound great compared to most tablets? Is the resolution higher than ANY tablet out there?
Personally I am about getting **** done with a tablet, you can have your pretty apps, because I already got my **** done, and ran 17 more apps while you are "oooh'ing and ahh'ing" over how pretty your apps are...
Disclaimer: The opinions expressed here are purely my own, don't expect you to or even care if you agree, move along :good:

you don't have to agree. personal opinions are just that. personal opinions. sideloading or not, i'm not quite sure of the difference. apps are apps. we all use them. so whether or not you have to install an app to get something to work the way we want it doesn't really take anything away from the devices we choose. some cars have ugly rims on them when we buy them from the dealer. we buy and put custom wheels on them. your "point" is moot at this point. but an ipad or buy a nexus 10. who cares.
Nexus 10 is so big it doesn't matter how thick it is within reason. Actually, I would've preferred they gave it a bigger battery for longer life unplugged.

Yes Nexus10 is awesome, but I'm a little bit desapointed by Android 4.2 regarding "no flash player" I know the reasons but currently I cannot benefit from web TVs I planned to watch with my new tablet (Orange TV, Canal+, Pluzz...).

I agree CreepyDroid. I tried to sideload the apk and to use other browsers without success. I would apreciate to read a good step by step link
Thank in advance.

i am really disappointed from google now! say what ever any body wants to say against me, i dont care cause reality aint gonna change!
i am a Samsung Boy... everything i own is from samsung (electronics ofcourse)
in my point of view, Google is a Huge company, Bigger than Apple. google can produce tablet oriented apps! YES IT CAN! i dont really dont find not more than like 10 apps that are ESPECIALLY made for my tablets! i owned Nexus 7, sold that cause of lag in browser, Now i own NOTE 10.1!
an Excellent Tablet! but No Apps!
when i was in search of good tab i had to choose between iPad 3 and Note 10.1 and i went for Note 10.1 cause i love Google but i AGAIN got disappointed! not from the tablet, but the SOFTWARE SUPPORT AND APP AVAILABILITY!
i am thinking of getting Nexus 10 but i am keeping my self away from the idea of getting it cause of app support!
mark my words, THERE WILL BE NO APPS FOR NEXUS 10 AT LEAST NOT FOR THE NEXT 3 TO 4 MONTHS!
Apple is only better in APP support and software support than google! GOOGLE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! WHEN U CAN ACTIVATE MILLIONS OF DEVICES EVERY DAY WHY NOT THE ABILITY TO SUPPORT THEM! DONT TELL ME ITS DIFFICULT FOR GOOGLE! ITS A BILLIONS OF $$ COMPANY!! AND HECK IT HAS SUPPORT OF MONSTER COMPANIES LIKE SAMSUNG, LG, HTC AND OTHERS.....!!!
google is destroying its image in minds of customers like me, who change their gadgets very frequently!
accept it or not dude! u can not deny the reality! SMARTPHONES IS ANDROID THING NOW, TABLETS ARE APPLE THING NOW... and only for the fact of no app and software support!

On the INTERNET, Flash is by far the most popular video format... and until HTML5 has agreed on a format that Chrome Firefox IE Safari Opera etc can agree on, flash video is still the choice for many web designers. If you are interested in seeing that content, you can either get flash a capable browser, or not see the video... crap or not.

Nexus 10 arrived, broken

I got my shiny Nexus 10, opened it up, fantastic, screen brilliant. A very nice upgrade from the Nexus 7.
I got home and continued to get some new apps installed and had a browse using pulse. I ventured into my lounge, where the lights were a little brighter. I was about to turn the TV on and heard a buzzing noise.
FANTASTIC.
Google are sending me another...
I then made the mistake of updating FB saying its broken already. I should have just posted: APPLE FANBOYS, MAN/ANDROID DOWN, COME GET ME NOW WHILST I'M WEAK.
"Buy cheap, buy twice" That was possibly the best of the bunch.
It wasn't cheap?! haha, ah well.
After owning this for a day, i'm not that fussed about it breaking to be honest, its a minor fault and they sending me a new one. The main annoyance is people/idiots asking me why I didn't just buy an iPad?!
I cannot believe technology has such a divide, a tablet is a tablet, people don't have the same kind of hate for Nike if they are into Adidas, it really has become very sad.
Joined XDA today after using the site for some time and getting my old HTC tricked out. I won't go into too much detail now but I'm EXTREMELY happy with my new Nexus 4 and very happy I can sell my One X now.
Hello all!

Asus are no where near perfect either.. Google Nexus 7 screen lift or Neuxs 7 screen separation.
Nobody is perfect. Both my Nexus 10 and ASUS TF300T are excellent devices. If I held both under a microscope I could find something to complain about.
Everthing today is price, time to market and the stock price. Are you surprised things are not perfect?
Still Charged Up
I'd take Samsung over Asus any day of the week.

This... unless you've tried a modern Asus tablet (possibly non-Nexus since the 7 sounds alright) you dont understand just how bad they can be. They cut corners in all the wrong places, and once you notice them you cant unnotice them.
Sorry that happened to you. Fortunately, many of us can say from experience that the good ones are really good. Far better than those Apple tablets that people seem to be mindlessly swooning over.
I swear to God I am so sick and tired of the same damn question "why didnt you get an iPad, it clearly has way more apps and blah blah blah". Because i dont wanna be paying to do everything on it, thats why.
O well, mine came a few weeks ago and it had a couple of random reboots, but im fine with it as it has no light bleed and it hasnt rebooted it self for a week or over now.

I'm guessing some of you guys never used a Asus tablet. I had the infinity. It was a beautiful tablet but boy does Asus know how to ruin a great device. Everything Asus makes has i/o issues. So when your downloading something you tablet is pretty much unusable. I never sold anything faster then that thing. Then after going to forums on any of there devices they all have the same problem. Lol even their computers.

I have a tf201 and got so sick of it I got a N10. I did like the keyboard, but there were just too many other little things that I could never get to work right. This after 3 rma's for wireless GPS and other issues . I have had this for 4 days and so far I really like it. I am still trying to get everything setup and figured out.
I think, what many people have trouble with is in how they use it. I don't really play games, but I do use it for productivity purposes and I'm reading a lot of books on Kindle or Google Books. What I found disappointing on the TF 201 was that I couldn't use it very well to write on the screen to take notes, which was a big frustration for me, as I don't want to have to type things out. The tests with my stylus on this has been a little better (using my jot pro) .
I think I also like the screen much better over the TF 201 which was a low resolution, something that I feel awful cheated on, because they came out with the tf700 so quickly afterwards with the same hardware except for the screen.

I have the Infinity 700t using the stock rom, unrooted. With the latest JB firmware update, there is minimal lag. Yesterday I downloaded 3 gb of files (The Bard's Tale) and was able to browse and do other tasks. Overall performance, including browsing is good- not spectacular, but highly usable and reasonably fast. Other than using Boat Browser, routinely clearing browser cache, occasional cold booting and disabling a lot of the pre-installed apps- I have made no system changes. Also, I uninstalled the FB client. Mostly because I find it a very poorly developed piece of software- actually preferring the web version.
