Android (CM7) drain more battery than WebOs - TouchPad General

After use it for 2 days, i feel like Android drain battery quicker than WebOs. Anyone seen this?

I think it has been well established for a while now. You'll get 5-8 hours on Android and you'll get 8+ hours easily on WebOS.

Please remember that Android is still in Alpha Beta stage compared to final version of WebOs.

ICS leak - Android OS drain

I'm on an ICS leak, coming from ICS .75, and I'm noticing a major battery issue. I'm lucky if I get through the day with 2 hrs of screentime, which isn't much better than what my Galaxy Nexus got. I've run system panel, and the main culprit seems to be a bunch of kernel wakelocks related to the system.
In System->battery, Android OS regularly takes up the highest percentage of battery use, even if I've had the screen on for 2+ hrs. This problem is similar to what many complained about when the Galaxy Nexus first came out.
Anyone having the same issue? I can't recall Android OS ever being above 10% on any of my previous droids.
So there is same issue with the Android OS drain on the ICS as on the GB? :-(
you can try One Power Guard app.if your android rooted. you can see more info from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889740

[Q] Battery life on CM9 roms?

Is it just me or does battery life on CM9 for Note suck?
I know it's an unofficial port and all, but I seem to get significantly poorer battery life on the AOSP/CM9 roms vs the rooted/debloated stock ones.
On the OnlyOne rom, I got ****ing insane battery life. Like 36+ hours with normal/heavy use. On all of the AOSP/CM9 variants (Flapjaxx/h0twir3) I'm at 50% after 5-6 hours of light use.
Am I the only one? Am I doing something wrong? On every other device I've owned (Nexus One, Nexus S, Captivate, Streak, Sensation, Fascinate...) AOSP has gotten significantly BETTER battery life. There are no obvious rogue apps that I can find, and I'm running exactly the same apps on both roms, still, CM9 variants inexplicably get poor battery life on this phone.
The only thing I've noticed is that Android System is using way more battery on CM9 vs stock roms.
Am I nuts?

Maybe I'll try that one. I'm basically just trying to see if anyone else has the issue before I go looking elsewhere to solve it.

[Q] [XGO][CM11] Battery Life

I installed CM11 for XGo from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/go-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-0-t2627231
The battery life is not as good as the stock ROM, I have found. Is this the case with other people?
I used to lose about 7% battery through the day, now its like 12%. I can live with that.
But when I'm actually using the phone, it drops 3-4% every ten minutes. I have played with CPU governors and it's gotten a tad better, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problm and if not could someone please post a link to help me? or something...
thanks.

I believe NovaThor chipsets are already old to think that last Android version would create a real benefit. Google optimized Android for better RAM usage together with parallel processing considering the newer chipsets with more cores (that have Quad Core A7). I went back to stock (having the Xperia P). If you want a phone that works extremely well with Android KitKat (performance and battery) you should try to find one with chipsed anounced in late 2012 or 2013.
Ahh thanks. I understand its a loaded question, but which version of android do you think would be better for the XGo? Stoxk only goes up to jellybean, do you think cm10 would be better for battery life?
Thanks.
*bump
Pls just a quick question, is jellybean better for old devices like this?

Android OS and Android system battery drain.

Has anyone found a way to deal with the Android OS and Android system battery drain? I've already tried clearing my cache I've tried 2 or 3 different Roms as well. I hardly get 3 hours sot. Phone lasts about 6-10 hrs depending on usage. Before upgrading to nougat I used to get about 5 hours of sot and phone used to last for about 1 day and a few hours. Usually both Android and os consume 10-15% more than the screen . Please help, it will be much appreciated. Thank you.
I'm running Android 7.1.1 dev preview
With stock rim
I'm having the same issue, stock running dev 7.1.1

I would rather not. The phone is running good other than battery drain. We'll see if there's an update soon that will help.

1. It's calculated (okay, more guessed than calculated) differently like on MM. They used to add everything they couldn't determine who used all the power to the screen, now they add it to Android System.
2. Also BT drains more battery, probably because it dozes less.
3. Switch to 7.1 DP1, it's better than 7.0 Nougat.

Used less screen than usual, normally it's two days. It's in airplane mode during the night, it's my alarm clock, and I wouldn't want a live antenna by my head the whole night.
The only thing that significantly impacted anything for me was switching location to battery saving mode.

Idle drain issues on custom ROMs

Hello all,
I tried all the custom ROMs available and they seem to have a high idle drain. I am loosing usually 10-20% per day which is extremely high in my opinion.
The Paranoid Android and Arter97's software collection seems to be slightly better but that is Android Pie based.
Is Android 10 the actual problem for the drain? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?
I never tried MIUI so I do not know how is the idle drain on the official OS but I had a Lenovo Tab 4 8" plus before and it was barely loosing 1% per day.
I hope I can find a good setup because at the moment there are not many options for a good 8" tablet. Even the Mediapad M6 8.4" is not produced anymore.
Any feedback is welcome. Thanks!
Edit: I forgot to mention that I use f2fs partitions on data and cache. I am not sure if that could cause any issue but on other devices I never noticed battery drain because of it.

yes. I'm facing same issue too. performance is owesome but idle battery got problem. have been try all android 10 for clover. all of them have the same issue . I don't think android 10 causes the problem because my lavender on miui android 10 battery life very good.
Turning off wifi works for me. When I do not need the device I just turn it off and the battery lasts much longer then when idle. have not really looked into it but I guess it is related to data usage or device not going to "deep" sleep
Yes, I had this issue with many custom roms, except Carbon rom. I've been running Carbon rom since I found this rom didn't have that issue, though it has less features than most of other roms

Yup, I second that. Also using carbon rom and idle drain is good
If you're using magisk then v20.4 have higher battery drain during idle. Try v20.3
