Well, I was googling on overclocking the gpu on msm7227 devices, and guess what I found on the first result: https://github.com/D4rKn3sSyS/MiniPro_GPU_OC
I'm sorry if I'm not supposed to like discuss about it or something, but I can't seem to find a thread concerning this in the x10 mini pro forums....
Sent from my x10 mini running the latest version of minicm 7.
I browsed through the files inside and can't find any numbers related to our gpu clockspeed etc......is this more of a set up, a framework for a module? I'm no developer and I can't read code, so I could be completely wrong.

We all are gonna overclock cpus gpus and bust them and then get another phone soon. better we collect money from now onwards.
Bro, nice idea, but we dont need that for now. we are happy with our phones with the new custom roms.
Thanks!

I doubt he would have hidden it from us if it was working.
Would the mini's gpu would clock well?
I have no idea, but I guess slight frequency increases should play well

Bump!!!

i take a look by adding it in my kernel
It isnt working, was a idea, but I never did get help, is hard to modifying GPU clocks, cus I didnt had idea how to do it, anyway that you see there is just the base for any kernel module.

I just bought an Optimus One and I'm not satisfied with the game performance.
Fifa 2010 runs fine, but with any tap on the screen it slows down and drops framerate drastically.
Is this some problem with my phone or does everyone experience this? Also, any luck running NFS Shift and such games?
EDIT: Just read about some 'touchscreen lag fix kernal'. Any more info on that?
NFS shift runing perfect for me.
Actually any game I've tried till now (even HD ones, the ones I manage to run...) is working perfectly with no lag nor slow fps.
But you have to mod the O1 a bit (custom recovery, modded kernel, hw acc + jit enabled, CPU overclock).
Does anyone know if the stagefright player has anything to do with game performance too?

Yes you just need z4root to root your phone.
It's always reversible, so no way you could worry about it
to get the best out of your phone, you can use custom kernels and roms +OC
the touchscreenlagfix kernel solves your problem about the cpu usage/framerate drop. Before, 3D/HD games that requires touch/d-pad was almost unplayable because of the sudden drop of framerate+lag.
it was a big BUG back then but now we are lucky that someone was able to fix it and now games like Hawkx, Nova, gtracing(games that requires touch) works Good on my phone.
NFS shift actually works fine even on stock rom w/o any MOd.
there are lots of guides in here discussing about the touchscreen lagfix kernel so you should try it if you want a better gamign experience on Lg optimus one.
I'm still wondering though...
Does anyone know if the stagefright player has anything to do with game performance?

Horrible official dev ( Sony erricson ) support . Officially the device bearly received in mid novembre Android 2.1 .... GPU drivers and optimization are pretty mediocre compared to O1 . It also has a smaller screen . It has only 3" opposed 3.2" that the O1 has .
Also O1 already has an ETA for official gingerbread ( end of may supposedly if something else doesn't occur. But either way it will get ginger 100% sure )
And I want to tell you one more thing . With andy's build 2.3.2 gingerbread ( a mix of aurora and CM7 ) he brought a ton of performance to the device .
Last night I tried Dungeon Defenders , which is a beast of a game ( really resource hungry ) and it finally works out great even without OC . As soon as andy releases the augmented kernel with OC I think , O1 performance will be almost on par with SGS.
LE: Also now I saw but the X8 has a pitiful ammount of RAM . O1 has 512 ( 418 RAM available to use ) and X8 bearly has 168 RAM . And believe me it counts . On internet browsers you're going to have a horrible experience.
i use my friends Sony Ericsson XPeria x8 and my LG O1 play angry birds same stage
my friends using 2.1 official rom and me using 2.2.1 stock rom
*both also using stock microsd
how come my friends oni lag awhile in angry birds ?
friends,
do we hav to overclock to fix the lag..?
or only the mod kernel will do..?
does overclocking heats the phone or any other damage to cpu..?

hello, it is not necessary to overclocking your optimus one but in a purpose of better gaming experience in your optimus one, then i think you should.
there is two things you need to install/flash to your O1 basically to improve your phone performance. custom ROM and a Kernel. i recommend flashing Megatron rom, and mostly people using Void rom. and i recommend Mik_os Kernel. mik_os kernel will solve all your "lag when hold screen" problem in your O1.
No, overclocking will not heats your phone, yes maybe it does, but just a little bit and will not harm your phone. and no it will not damage our phone CPU.
i currently using megatron rom with mik_os kernel, and its all working very well. gaming experience in my O1 are fantastic. with megatron rom, your phone CPU will automatically set to 728mhz (not sure, check this in the megatron thread).
heres the link for megatron rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870640
mik_os kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929941
before you will be able to flash this, you need to succesfully install this first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844483
its a custom recovery where you later can flash the megatron rom and mik os kernel. before you do flashing, i recommend to backup your sd card and things. goodluck

If you overclock and use the mod kernel, you will get the best out of the gaming experience. Don't worry about OC issue, as 700-720mhz most of the members are using this and no issues have been reported as of now. Also, the OC depends on the hardware modification and each phone has its own maximum OC limit.
If you feel OC is overheating your phone, revert it. Isn't that simple ?
Well, it's a budget phone (and a damn good one at that), so of course it's not going to run everything perfectly. If you're going to use custom rom's and overclock, please read about the subject well beforehand, ok? It can go terribly wrong, and it does sometimes cause problems.
And the claim about no problems is very false. Both overclocking, and installing a custom rom can cause random reboots, application force closes and hangs among with other problems. So please read into it, and be prepared to revert in case something goes wrong. Overclocking will also most certainly reduce the life cycle of your phone.

True, but who's gonna keep this phone for mare than 2-3 years? Also, most of the time the CPU is idle @245 MHz...
I overclocked mine to 768MHZ its stable. I have a p500h (same thing as the p500 I think)
Which extension is good for 2.1 x10..
Plzz... help me brother n sister.
By extension you mean ROM?
Edit:
If you do, I'll HIGHLY recommend MiniCM6 1.0.2. + X10 Mini Undervolt to increase the battery with a HUGE ammount.
And finally MDDI Fix for fixing any MDDI lag.
So far this is the best combo I have found for the X10 Mini, and its the one I currently use.
Edit: MiniCM6 includes Undervolt and the MDDI lag fix, so no use in doubleinstalling them.
Just make sure you activate them in the CM Menu.
Some might say that you'd need an overclock module aswell.
But I havent found the need for this at all. Undervolting helps the battery with a few extra days and it doesnt affect performance.
The only one I belive COULD be better is FroyoBread v023c.
But the ROM is currently way too unstable to use for everyday use.
Keep an eye out for updates on it. It will hopefully be updated and fixed in the near future.
Extension means sd card partitions.

I mean is this possible to overclock and undervolt stable our X10 with Snapdragon QSD8250 to....maybe 1.5Ghz? With Custom Kernel, or after fully unlock/crack bootloader? Please answer.
to 1.5ghz.....noway, its unstable as it is at 1.2ghz, so far the highest stable frequency is 1152 and mayb 1190.4ghz. the chipset we have cant really be highly overclockd without being really unstable and can damage the phone, i dnt think ny dev will even attempt to do this, even the desire which has same chipset isnt overclockd too much
Thx for answer dude, but one more - Desire have unlocked bootloader if I good hear, how much freq have Desires users?
BTW: I read long time ago that someone do 1.7 (??!!) Ghz for our X10, but it was very unstable, and thread disappear after ~20minutes. You know something more about it?

it doesnt matter if its got a unlocked bootloader or not the chipset itself is not highly clockable it is a hardware limitation, ive jus seen most of them in desire development page dnt go above 1.2ghz, no i didnt hear abt the 1.7ghz and it probably didnt happen, the phone probably wud be dead in 5 minutes

It disappeared because it was wrong.
It was due to an incorrect multiplier and was actually only running at 1152mhz
1228 is the highest anyone can reach without reboots. At this frequency there is a huge possibility of burning out your chip if you leave it there for long periods
supports the x10 Overclok and undevolt to (1113Mhz or 1228Mhz) spends the useful life of the cell
It is best to use stock kernel :S

Hi guys,
I'm looking to get an android device for my OH. She's not that tech-savvy (though she knows a bit as my geekyness rubs off on her), however I simply don't trust stock firmware so I'll want a custom ROM on it. She will be using the phone as a phone/web browser/camera/games. What's this device like in terms of usability, battery life etc? Does the 800mhz cpu cause lag at all? If I can get it for under £100 is it worth it, or should I fork out the extra £50 for a X10 Mini Pro?
As for the CM firmware, is it gingerbread?
Sorry for the semi off-topic post but I don't trust phone salesmen and the xda community know what they are talking about =]
Hi there
if you're talking about x8 then the processor is 600mhz, not 800.
For me it's really a question of what kind of games does she like to play because for things like email, web and some other random stuff X8 is just fine now that we have a flash player working too.
About games i can say that i have some real troubles trying to play some of them, even overclocking (my processor only supports 710mhz max) and most of the time we have to take a look on web to search for a modified version for our X8.
If i can give you a suggestion i have a friend at work that bought almost for the same price a Samsung Galaxy Gio gt5660, take a look. It has 800mhz processor, and has upgrade from samsung to 2.3.3 with flash player support.
hope i helped you.
If you use the overclock module from gc 7.3 you can reach 768mhz,and if you use the new 2.3.7 gb version you can set the frequency from 768 minto 768 max

Thanks for the info, its greatly appreciated. Basically shes currently using a iphone 3G thats donkey years old with no power button or volume rocker. It's slow as moses. She plays games from the market but no 3d racing or online rpgs, just puzzle games and minigames (rat on the run, angry birds etc). I'm looking to get her a phone thats quite nice but not really expensive. The main features need to be decent speed (no lagging on phone menus like with the iphone) and it must be future-proof (which is why I want a phone that has active custom development).
I can pick up the X8 for £75, the Galaxy Gio seems to be around £120 with the X10 Mini Pro at £150. If I can't find a good deal I might just give her my hd2 and buy a new flagship device xD
tl;dr Thanks for the info!
Hey guys~! I was wonderin' whats the best rom/configuration for gaming on x10 mini pro....
-by configuration, I mean cpu governor, tweaks, mods, etc, etc~!
-by rom... i guess i dont have to explain this anymore~...
:fingers-crossed:
Sorry, didn't understand what you mean by ROM ¬¬ lol...
Ok, just kiddin , anyway... When I used to play on my X10 Mini Pro, I used MiniCM7Pro lite with Fa kernel, with the OC at: 480Mhz~720Mhz, and performance governo
Anyway, already used 2.1.Clean.0.0 (or something like this) with Stock kernel and no OC and no performance change to play too, amazing ROM I must say.
About nAa ROMs, they are good, but, I don't know why, my gaming experience was better with those two ROMs above, now it's up to you, already gave you my tip
Good gaming - Nowadays I use my Xoom to play

Well I'm not sure, the best froyo ROM I used was FroyoBread or something like this
"This Story Ends Where It Began"
GB Roms
If you are looking for a ginerbread rom, I would recommend either PrimeHD ( sadly, the developers support ended a few months ago) or nAa's MiniCM7. The configuration:
CPU 480-720 MHz
Compcache 18%
Activated Kernel Samepage Merging
Allow purging of Assets
VM Heap 48MB
Installing zepellinrox V6 Supercharger and Kickass Kernelizer probably also helps...
