[Q] relocking the bootloader? (need the stock kernel for sk17i) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello,
I have a used sk17i and the previous owner unlocked the bootloader.
Not sure what method was used to unlock it.
The problem I'm having is I want to restore the phone via SEUS, but when it asks to turn phone on holding down, SEUS does not see the phone in flash mode (flashtool does).
I presume I need to relock the bootloader for SEUS to start working again?
What are the steps to figure out what method was used to unlock it, and to relock it? (if it's the patched thing, how do I reverse it, if I need to flash the stock sk17i kernel (currently it's not a stock one), where do I get the boot.img?)

relock bootloader
I'm still find a way to get oem bootloader back..

seriously, no-one saved the original one ?

If you just want to restore to original SE's OS you can use Wotan Server for that. Its totally free, you just need to register at WotanServer.com which is also free. The Wotan Server client will download the firmware once you select the CDA. You can have any custom kernel os rom before using Wotan . You dont need to relock bootloader for this . I did this on my Xperia Mini . But if you want to relock bootloader for other reasons then the available method is for Xperia arc. This method is only if the bootloader is unlocked in normal method. If the bootloader was unlocked using setool, omnius, patch, etc. then this relocking method wont work, Which is risky . It worked on my Xperia Mini but I dont suggest it because it was posted for Xperia arc. And even though you relock bootloader you wont get the DRM rights back which means you cannot use apps like trackId, appextra, etc. All the best.

Unlock Xperia Ray Boot Loaders Without lossing DRM data

Guys after working hundreds of hour , i have posted a guide to unlock boot loaders of xperia ray without losing DRM data.
it is 100% tested and working fine , i also tried cyanogenmod , MIUI and all working well
you can follow this guide :-
unlock boot loaders of xperia ray without losing drm data
This method is also applicable for other xperia devices , if you are using other xperia phone then find your phone's test point here :
Test Points for Xperia Devices – Xperia Arc / Active / Mini / Mini Pro / Neo / Play / Pro / Ray
if you like my work then hit thanks , i also appeal developers to post more info about it , as i am n00b
Yeah if you want to 100% void your warranty then do this. If you mess with the TA then you WILL void your warranty. Ok I did it with my ray ages ago and just did it with my play but SE have now made trackID that needed DRM keys to work now not need them. Head over to the play themes and apps section and it's there.

Too much complicate with these cables, etc. I used for this only one paper clip. Connection was between testpoint and metal casing sim slots! So simple
And i was unlocking branded Ray with NO access to fastboot Now i have unlocked bootloader, fastboot and simfree, track-id still works olny for 15 GBP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304417 i got also full backup of my bootloader.
If you have access to fastboot mode (blue LED) it will by free for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285

You had to pay for it? . See I like the idea and if you know you won't break or brick the device then do it. But if you do hard flashing and drop your phone a lot then don't do it as it does void your warranty this way. Where we modify the TA area it is against the warranty and voids it. This is why I don't advise doing it if you are likely to need the warranty. But I will say now. If anyone has the play and wants to try this then it is actually quite tricky as it is underneath the battery and the battery need to be inserted. Also when removing the test point you can't remove the battery so..... Just pick the device up and hold the back button when removing the test point wire.

to unlock bootloader you need fastboot - in branded/locked phone fastboot needs to be enabled via PAID hardware/software.
using this method, i was aware of the void the warranty
during the whole process i did not pulled out the battery
It's still unclear for me why people want to unlock their bootloader?? Rooting can be done via the exploit so..
for custom kernel /overclocking / CM7 / MIUI etc

for installing custom roms like - cyanogenmod and MIUI
and for installing custom kernels
O allrightt I thought that was also possible with locked bootloaders
Noob question here... Is it possible to just unlock the bootloader the usual way, like I did on my Xperia Play or does it have to be done the way in OP?

yes you can unlock it usual way , infact peoples are using normal way to unlock bootloaders of Xperia phones
but if you don't want to lose track id like apps then use above posted method
I've unlocked my bootloader using the testpoint method which allowed me to install the 2.3.4 ROM on my branded Orange Ray when it first came out.
Just used DoomLord's tool to root. Really easy.
I think the only thing I'm missing is FastBoot, but I'm not sure there's a compelling need for that at the moment, to me at least?!

but You can not unlock the bootloader without running fastboot mode in s1tool!
BL unlocked in program "s1tool" = he must have working fastboot mode so why he wrote: "I think the only thing I'm missing is FastBoot" ??

i think its bull**** because "FlashTool" does the same thing (flash orginal 2.3.4 ROM) without unlocking the bootloader goodbye warranty
Just one noob question.
If I unlock the bootloader with testpoint methode and flash a custom kernel, did I also lose DRM data?
Or can I then flash a stock kernel and nothing wouldn't seen that I ever flash a custom kernel. Also Track ID and so one will work fine?

If you unlock the bootloader with testpoint methode it will not cause loss DRM flashing software, kernels, etc. also will not lose of DRM data
DRM we lose when we unlock bootloader by official method (SE webpage and unlock key from that page)
Track-id and SEUS update work fine for my Ray unlocked by testpoint (paid method for branded phone)

unlock bootloader on sim locked phone?

I have read around but found no answer..
Some say its impossible some say its possible can some one tell me for sure if its possible and if it is how would I do it?
And in the service menu it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
used the GENERIC rom 042
Bootloader unlock allowed: YES
and use omnius

And how do i do that..
To flash other ROM, you can try WotanServer or Flashtool, last one requires correct files, WotanServer needs, that you only pick, which version of firmware you want(and free account).

Yes you can do it in stock with Wotan server but take into account that this process only changes the firmware version you are on for a generic one from se maybe a newer one but nothing more after this you still won't be able to flash custom kernels or roms unless you unlock your bootloader and fast boot.
You can try the unofficial way for the bootloader and it might work I cannot warranty it but it will not be that good as most of the roms need they own kernels and you will need access to fastboot mode to do that, unfortunately you need to completely unlock your phone either with omnius or setool to gain access to fastboot and this will cost you some money.
How can flashing that 042rom allow bootloader unlocking??
Just for the hell of it, i flashed my mini pro with that rom and it has not let me unlock the bootloader at all so im a little confused here

Man that is why I hate when people just write for the like of it!!! @ seansmit17 this is not with you I hope you know what I mean.
If you have the message unlock bootloader allowed: no; then it means your phone is sim locked this will lock the fastboot mode too so you will not be able to flash a custom kernel unless you unlock the sim and fastboot mode (connecting the phone turned off and holding the volume up key to the computer = blue notification led with turned off screen and phone), the only means that I know off to unlock is either omnius or setool, this is for the sim and fastboot and it is not free.
For the bootloader you can use the test point method found in the development section, of course I can't guarantee it will work and of course this will NOT UNLOCK YOUR SIM OR FASTBOOT MODE BUT ONLY YOUR BOOTLOADER.
When you install a generic firm with Wotan server it is like a seus upgrade and nothing else well it will allow you to get the last upgrades when they come out due to a change in product code but that's it. The same with flashtool but without the change in product code.
Hope it helps.

[Q] Help with my Xperia Mini Pro bootloader :)

So,I've rooted and unlock its bootloader for a long time.I also install my phone ClockWorkMod Recovery and etc. other root stuff (My android is 2.3.4 .58 Firmware)
So,today I thought I will finally relock my bootloader as my phone will receive a new ICS official from Sony Ericsson anytime from now until end of June,so I download a relock bootloader ftf file (I've searched it in the internet, and download the right file). After I flashed it (I've enabled USB debugging before shut down my phone and I also sure my phone is in flash mode during flash),my phone WON'T boot up...I don't know what happen,so I'm currently fixing it by using WotanServer, and it downloading in progress now (My x10 Mini Pro bricked 5 times, and I fix it 5 times by myself without whining )
So,I wanna ask you guys :
Why my phone won't boot up?Although the bootloader is locked by Flashtool, but it won't boot up I've stock FIRMWARE and stock KERNEL in my phone...never modified it,only root, unlock its bootloader and flash CWM in it...
Thanks for reading I hope you can answer my question
Regards,
UchihaDareNial
Uhm, since WotanServer installs also stock kernel back...doesn't it require unlocked bootloader?
I am not sure, but that would make sense with all other kernel installations also.
Unlock bootloader, install firmware and kernel with WotanServer again, boot and relock bootloader.

Thanks for the information man,by the way,I just restore my phone using WotanServer and WotanServer will always be my trust to restore my phone if it got a brick or something like that
I restore my phone with Firmware .58 and I rooted it using ZergRush, and update it using OTA [My phone automatically bootloader locked] (I install US Generic xD even I live in Malaysia,so I got Sk17a instead of Sk17i) and now I got .62 firmware with root access in my phone

Yep,you are right...
Because,WotanServer and PC Companion and SEUS use OTHER method which I (even other ROM developer maybe?) don't know how the file work with the flashing without needed bootloader unlocked right?

PC Companion doesn't work with unlocked bootloader at all.
You might be correct, as I have never tried update/repair via PC Companion.

I know, the point is that it's not necessary for flashing stock kernel bootloader to be unlocked.I think it's pretty obvious, if it didn't update with locked bootloader then sony would have to force users to unlock bootloader or give unlocked phones or never update kernel.

Do I have a locked or unlocked bootloader? (Neo V)

Sony Xperia Neo V
Stock ROM 4.0.4 (Updated 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 via OTA)
Rooted via DooMLoRD
CWM Recovery installed.
I need to find out if my Xperia Neo V have a locked or unlocked bootloader..?
I have read through different thread and have googled as well, but still was not able to get a concrete answer.
I have never unlocked it myself, not intentionally atleast.
When I check via *#*#7378423#*#*, it says 'Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes'. Some guys around XDA says if its unlocked, it will say ''Bootloader unlocked: Yes' but others say it will show the first one regardless of the lock state.
PC Companion and SUS can detect it just fine and I can repair and update my phone, which leads me to believe its locked.
But then, I can get into flash mode, use flash tool to load different ROMs and also have CWM installed - doesn't it need a unlocked bootloader?
And, if I am on a locked bootloader, what's the advantage of an unlocked one then, what am I missing?
Bootloader unlocked: Yes only means that your fastboot is unlocked, that your phone isn't SIM locked, not that your bootloader is unlocked.
Being able to enter flash mode, flash different rom's, cwm doesn't mean your BL is unlocked.
There are rom's that require custom kernel, if you wanna use those rom's you need to unlock your BL.
Advantage is anything that can be done with custom kernels, mainly overclock, undervolt, change some parameters...
Go to Neo V development section, in one sticky thread you can find s1tool. Get it and identify your phone with it.
Just a fact that you didn't unlock it tells that it's locked. All Xperia phones have locked BL's. All 2011 Xperias with sim lock, have locked fastboot, which means you need to pay to unlock it and by that you enable fastboot and unlock your BL.
Thanks buddy (button pressed). So, unlocked bootloader means warranty gone forever, right? Irreversible?

Well, if you use official method, even if you relock it they can see in service center, when they connect it, it will show that DRM certificate is missing. I'm not saying they will look for that, but it will be visible.
In my opinion patched bl is best option, with s1tool. Also you can relock it. As far as I know nothing will pop up on their PC.
Alright buddy, got the idea. Thanks a lot.

[Q] Benefits of unlocking Xperia Z2 not on official Sony site

Ok, so i have my Z2 for a few months and i couldn't find any information regarding of benefits on
different ways to unlock bootloader? There is an option unlocking over a official site and unlocking
with flashtool, i kindly accept any advice.
Also, i had Desire HD, it had unlocked BL, eng s-off and everything else, but i only had to flash a rom and
thats it i can start using it. The process of flashing roms was a childs play, but on Z2 i have to flash boot.img
(i think thats kernel) over a fastboot and then flash rom from recovery separately, so is there a chance of unlocking Z2
the same way?
No difference between following Sony's guide or another method
edit-
the output is the same, just the method of getting there is different
i recommend flash tool because it makes Boot loader Unlocking easier
Unlocking by flashtool is just an automated way of doing it the official way.
It just enters the codes for you that Sony provides to save you typing them in. Flashtool is not an alternative method, it is the same method without having to type commands yourself
