WebTop 2.3.4 = Ubuntu 9 Jaunty + Firefox 4.02
WebTop 2.3.5 = Ubuntu 10 Maverick + Firefox 8.01
what's new in WebTop 2.3.6? Are we getting Ubunbu 11 Natty?
I don't think that's accurate. It seems all webtops (2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.3.6) are based on Jaunty. I've seen mention of Maverick for other device webtops, but not Atrix.
Also, 2.3.5 has firefox 6
2.3.6 has firefox 8

2.3.5 has Firefox 6 I thought? 2.3.6 definitely has Firefox 8.

I see. Thanks for the answers. That makes upgrading to WebTop 2.3.6 much less interesting if it's still on Jaunty.
Change Keyboard + Lang
How knows, how to change language in ENG Webtop and how to change keyboard layout from ENG to eg. GER ?
Thanx
if I already have a webtop 2.3.4 using webtop2sd/webtop scripts/xfce4 setup, would I see much of a benefit upgrading to 2.3.6?
at this point,I care more about the webtop than the android. I can live with a stock android, since i can still get all the apps I need, and the phone works fine for my uses. I would just like to use my laptop dock to its fullest potential.

Firefox 8. If you don't care about that, then I'd guess it wouldn't matter.
Hi, where can I see that thread for major information? Sorry for ask but I ll go to update rom at gingermod 3.4.6 and I need to be sure if webtop last version is already functional for this rom or other. Grats

I found it here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009
Greetings
I'm wondering if it's possible to pull FF8 binaries from webtop 2.3.6 to 2.3.4. It seems doable since both webtops are on jaunty. This way people don't have to unlock bootloader, flash custom rom etc.

Can someone tell me where to find the 2.3.4 stock webtop image? i need to flash it. I installed a rom and then used CWM to restore my basically stock GB. All was good but the webtop was gone so I installed the modified V2 per Joe Ferreira's thread. Webtop was back but the Citrix client crashes.
Thanks!
Ron
I have an LG Optimus x2. The android version is 2.2.2. How do I know what I have, froyo, gingerbread, honeycomb, dutch oven, etc...?
I have Cerberus. It says I have to upgrade to Gingerbread to use the face camera, witch I want and need as a security measure.
What does the numbers mean? Ex. 2.2.2, 2.3.4, etc...
What do the baked goods names mean?
I want to upgrade to "Gingerbread" but will my current apps work in the new upgrade? The ones I am concerned about are:
Silent camera (I got it here on this site.)
Skype video (well it doesn't work on what I have now, its more of an inquiry.)
Hanping CE
Baidu input (I need these last two for school)
Then, where does CM7 come into this whole mess?
Now how do I go about getting this Gingerbread?
Sorry for the many questions as I just learned to root my phone a week ago.

Like you said, your phone has android 2.2.2.
That is Froyo
2.2 = Froyo
2.3 = Gingerbread
3.0 = Honeycomb
The numbers represent that version of android.
The names are just code names used by Google for each version of Android
CM7 is a custom ROM
Here's a link to it for your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058254
As for getting Gingerbread. I'd suggest you have a look in the section for your particular phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=999
Your apps should also work fine. 99% of all apps that work on froyo will work on Gingerbread.
I would buy a lapdock, but I have a question, what is the best experience to use it? Currently I have a CM9 jokersax, I know there are different ways to use the lapdock:
1) Flash ROM based blur (but I love ics: D),
2) use a rom ics tablet UI,
3) flash nottachtrix dual boot and install full Linux Debian,
4) flash cm7 dual boot and install to SD webtop.
(I don't know if the last two are possible) what is the best method? If there are other ways,please write them. Thanks in advance for the answers and sorry for my English :/
I would wait for the official ICS upgrade,since Webtop 3.0 should offer the best speed with the lapdock,since its not running linux on top of android
First, you must decide if you want something that looks like a linux desktop, or the ICS tablet mode.
You can not get an X based system (standard Linux) on a non Blur based build. So if you want that, you either have to dual boot or punt ICS.
My feeling is that the ICS tablet mode is lacking. It REALLY needs the Moto 'vidia drivers to come out (Aug?) to get a more useable product.The present ICS builds are nice on the phone, but for me is a step down on the lapdock.
I just stick with Noat's flash (with a custom osh based on the "full Debian" mod) because I use the dock far more than the phone. I would like to use ICS though, but I will just wait till fall for this.
BTW, I use my lapdock 100% when on the road. Even for work.
Thanks I will wait the driver release(i don't hurry xD )
I tried webtop2sd with full debian and gentoo Linux on nottachtrix and found them way too slow. In my opinion paranoid Rom with tablet mode is the best but I guess it's also a matter of how you are going to use it and personal preference

Sorry for not being as up-to-date as i probably should be.
What is the highest version of Andriod i can run on the Atrix 4G?
Can i run Andriod 4.X ?
Thanks
You can use 4.0 and 4.1 with some bugs..
But GB, CM7 with no issues.
I think there will be usable 4.2 version soon (without hardware acceleration and video recording). At the moment latest available for Atrix 4G is 4.1.2.
If you need everything working (including camcorder, HW acceleration and fingerprint sensor) then one of the GB ROMs is your best bet. Otherwise, CM9 and CM10 ROMs are available but without the above mentioned functions.
ok, so next question

Thanks for the info. I went to motorola's site and latest i saw was 2.x something. Where do i get 4.x if i do want to upgrade?
First of all you need to be upgraded to GB. Then unlock BL, install a recovery and simple download a Rom from develop section to your sdcard and install it as a normal Rom!

Officially, Motorola only released up to 2.3.6 for the Atrix. So if you want to get 4.x, the Android Dev forum is where you want to look.
I've an international Atrix with the stock 2.3.4 Blur rom. I've recently bought a lapdock, and I was wondering if i can update *only* my webtop to the 2.3.6 version found in this Fruitcakes thread? (I'd like a more recent Firefox version, and i want to test stock WebTop a bit before trying out Ubuntop or Gentop or the likes)
