Hello everybody!
Is there any solution for this problem?
"Hi guys,I have handcent app for text messaging but I keep getting a notice in my lock screen saying I have a message even when I have read it through the handcent app.I have turned off all the notifications in the standard text message app but it keeps happening and is very annoying. Does anyone know how to stop this please?ThanksNat"
Thanks!
Maybe try to freeze conversation.apk. have you tried it?

I have a normal Neo V, no root, no unlocked bootloader ...
without root isn't possible
you have to uninstall system/app/CoreNotificationPublisher.apk with titanium backup

And NotificationProvider.apk
Do you have clear the preference for the default app? (settings -> application -> manage application-> conversation -> clear preference)

So I'm trying to figure out the point to the blacklist feature in Handcent. I know it hides all the texts that are on the list, but they are still accessible via the stock messaging app no problem. Is there a way to stop the stock app from showing particular messages, or disable the stock app all together? Just seems like a pointless feature to have if it is bypassed so easily.
remove the stock app from your phone, with root explorer

I wouldn't advise that. Isn't the stock MMS app tied into the framework? I believe this would kill your ability to send and receive messages.
I think the blacklist is to block who ever u want from texting you.

This is pretty much what it does .. I have done it.

I always wondered if that was possible without breaking something....
With launcher pro you can hide it in the hidden apps list..or on adw just put it on your homescreen then.hold it then edit then change the name and change the icon then take off notifications

Launcher Pro allows you to hide applications and in the stock messaging app go to settings and disable navigation notifications. Problem solved.
Edit: I missed the post above mine.

if u are looking just to hide dome text so your partner wont find out....you need to download sms guard on the market ,install and go to settings and put a password do no one wont getting......that works perfectly....now the only problem is if the sent u a multimedia message it wont block ....hope it hepls
I've tried the blacklist from handcent myself but really didn't like it nor worked for me that well. Now I'm using blaclkist app from the market. Much better than the blacklist that comes in handcent.

There's a setting on both apps default and Go SMS
Go SMS settings > Important tips> Silent
Default Message> settings > scroll down Notifications uncheck it.
Does that work?
if NOT
on Go SMS
in settings and important notes there's a tip in there for if you have uninstalled ur default message.apk
So use titanium backup to free your default message app and do what it says on the go sms pro thing to auto retrieve messages.
Do that. it should work.
in the go sms help menu it tells you how to stop double notifications.
Wierd bug here. My phone is set to always vibrate and it does so for incoming calls however for sms I get the sound but no vibration. I've noticed there is no vibrate option in the messaging settings either :| Anyone got any ideas on fixing this?

Are you using the stock messaging app? What rom and phone are you using?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yes, stock messaging app on SGS2 (as the forum states). I'm on stock KE2 and rooted via chainfire's rooting method then reflashed stock kernel.
Have you turned on always vibrate from within the messaging app? Go to all threads in the app, press menu, then settings, scroll down to notification settings, then press the option that says "Vibration" and make sure the option for always vibrate is selected.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I would but the setting isn't even there which is what surprised me most!
EDIT: I found an app to let me enable that vibration and it works now but it should be there as an option by default!!! WTF SAMSUNG!

Hey guys, same problem here.
darkalchemist, which app allows to enable vibration? thanks in advance.
upd: found "vibrate tools" app
Its called MineVibrationSetting and you just need to download it from the market and tick the box inside to enable.

I've installed go sms and have checked the option to deactivate notifications from the stock messaging app and only receive them from gosms. I am still getting two notifications sometimes. I was wondering if it was safe to freeze the stock messaging app via titanium backup. By the way I'm rooted on tmobile. Any help, thanks.

never remove any stock app like messaging or browser as these are connected to core processes and will render the phone useless.... don't even disable the messaging app as this will cause issues. Just go into the options menu of the sms app and turn off notifications for stock sms then adjust your third party sms app notifications as needed...
Wow never occurred to me to go in the stock app and disable notifications. Thanks a lot guys.

Disable the whole app from your app management in the settings too!

I only get the 'uninstall' option come up and not disable! I'm wanting to disable the default message app as I'm using GoSMS and currently encountering MMS issues. Would like to narrow down the cause by disabling the messages app....any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE: Solved

I think the capitalization problem is of not swiftkey and I assume that you are using cm10 cause same problem happened to me when I was in it and then I went to messaging app and typed randomly using my physical keyboard continuously and with some key(i don't really know since I keep pressing nearly all the buttons randomly) it automatically got fixed for the time
Best Regards,
AJ
Re: [Q] removing default input notification
So its cm10 not SwiftKey right.
Followed ur advice and found the button to turn it off its the globe button.

If you have root, you can more the stock keyboard from /system/app to /data/app , and move the keyboard you wish to use the other way (/data/app to /system/app).
This changed the default keyboard for me, enabling me to deselect the stock one, thus removing the notification (It doesn't come up if you only have one input method enabled.)
