Please HELP! I think I BRICKED my LG Optimus V. Ok so I bought this phone about 2 weeks ago and activated it about 2 days ago. I Rooted it with Gingerbreak and it was working perfectly. Them I tried too install a custom ROM with ROM Manager and did something wrong and now whenever I boot it, it freezes on the Android loading logo. When I try to go into Recovery Mode I just get a black screen. I also tried going into Emergency Mode but I dont see any use for that. Please Help my dad is going to Kill Me. I am willing to do anything to get my phone back in perfect Condition.
First your phone not brick so relax.your recovery not install properly so reflash your recovery using lgmdp and don't flash recovery using rom manager.
Here the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18742447
Ill try that. Thanks. Ill post the results later.
Make sure to wipe everything in recovery before flashing a ROM else it will not boot..
I tried the Lgmdpv thing but I cant select image. that option is greyed out. Also when it says select port there is one port and it says no phone or model. Help!

i don't understand what is not work.did you manage to install recovery?
This is what step seven says
7. select the extracted recovery folder as "image folder or select image" in lgmdp
The button "select image" is not working. I am able to click it but it doesn't do anything. Do I need to download lgmdp from another site or something?
First download your recovery file in .img format then follow the step of lgmdp and when you click select image file then a small window is open where you select that recovery.img file after that some Waring is given just ignore the waring and follow the remain steps ie click on download button.
Thats the problem. I cant select image because the screen doesn't pop up if I click image select

If you are using window 7 or vista run lgmdp as admissiontator and if this don't work redownlod lgmdp and try again.
I tried XP Vista and 7 non of them are working. I am going to try KDZ now. I now it can ruin your phone but its my last option. Can you please provide me with a link of the download and a form talking about how to do it. Thanks

I updated the clockworkmod recovery through the rom manager. after rebooting my phone is stuck at a screen saying

i cant enter the recovery or the rom
Please Help..
Solved
so far this is the only solution i guess..
put to emergency mode..
flash the v20g rom as instructed below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141490&highlight=v20g
Some got out of it using KDZ updater as well...but the above one worked for me..
You get the CMW 3. something
flash the amon ra recovery
from here
http://www.mediafire.com/?sfq1aq793vdo4
Then install any custom rom you wan to using the recovery...
P.S. Do not install the 5.0.2.7 by any chance..i tried it twice to see if i made a mistake...but it is buggy and your phone might get bricked...

Dear Ankit,
Dont panic, just download anreboot or any reboot app from market. They will give you an option to boot into recovery I think while pressing the key combo (power on+vol dwn+home) something went wrong, pls try again.
If u press home and power keys alone , u will enter fastboot mode.. just remove the battery put it back and then press power+home+vol down properly ..
No need to panic
The same thing happened for me, and I could recover my phone through KDZ. Just search for that, and I'm sure you'll find it out.
Make sure you read all the instructions carefully, install the required drivers, and disable LGE Virtual Modem before you proceed. It took a few tries to get KDZ see my phone, but once KDZ recognized my phone, it restored the stock firmware and my phone was booting!
If KDZ doesn't recognise the phone after many times, enter the emergency mode by pressing back+vol down+ power, when the phone is off. That could help.
Unfortunately for some people, KDZ has not worked and the method with LGMDP worked for them:You can also try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1324105
And, remember, many users have faced the same problem, and various threads explaining these steps already exist. No offence meant, but do search the forums before posting next time. Just for keeping the place clean and tidy.
All the best!
Thank you for the reply..but the phone was bricked. So there was no option to download any application from the market.
And i also searched for the solution in the forum...all i found was the KDZ method....so i tried that as well....but that did not help either ( no explanation why) ..... so once i got it on my own...i taut posting the solution would be a good idea...
anyways Thank you all for replying.

Hello guys, I need help.
Today I was stupid enough to update my rooted Galaxy Mini II. After the update was done and the phone rebooted it showed only CWM recovery screen over and over again. So I tried to go back to defaults but nothing happened and now after I select reboot system it shows an ilegible screen and I need to pull out the battery and start again to even get to that damned CWM screen.
Is there something that can be done? Beside handing the mobile to service?
Go to download mode and flash a new firmware !!
Don't forget to press the THANKS button
And Good luck !!

Hi, I need some help with my smartphone. This was my first try to change a ROM, I did a lot of things... What I remember is that I downloaded the ROM and I tried to install it with the Stock Recovery (I did the "Wipe data/factory reset" and "Wipe cache" then the "Install update from zip")...I did'nt have the phone unlocked at first... Now the phone doesn't go further than the motorola logo. I've tried a lot of fixes and I can't get it done, I got the bootloader unlocked after, and after that I could install a nice recovery (It was really hard) I really don't know where it got bricked. I've downloaded some sbf files but none of them worked and some "automated fixes" but still did'nt work.
AT&T version
Was running on GingerBread 2.3.6
Thanks in advance
do you get the white text "unlocked" at the top left of the screen while you turn on the phone?
If you have a custom recovery you can flash any rom you download from the dev section.

Yes, and i've tried as you say to install a ROM but it fails. I tried to install CM7 (The last version, a nightly) and Atrix-MROM... Oh and is there a difference in flashing and installing a ROM?
No flashing is installing a rom, can you elaborate more on the error you get (if you get one)?
what recovery are you using (twrp, cwm, ...)

When I turn on my phone I don't get any error it just stucks on the logo screen, sometimes when I try to install a ROM I get that the file doesn't work or something like that but right now I tried again to install Atrix MROM and according to the recovery it installed succesfully, but when I reboot the cellphone to see if it works I get the same thing it won't pass the logo screen. The recovery that I use is one that has some chinese green words and it say "goapk.com" it also says on the top "Atrix 4G Recovery v4.0.0.2 GOAPK.COM" (It's not the stock recovery) and the options are in blue... I tried to instal CWM but I couldn't, I never saw it, it never worked, so I got that one from an automatic script. I'm sorry if didn't helped enough, just ask me anything that you want to know. I apologize for any typo I'm from Dominican Republic english is not my native language. Ohhh And the last time I tried to install a sbf with RSD Lite (It had like 500 mb) and after all the process fiinished It said "Fail. The pone did not re-enumerated..."
Thanks for replying
ok let's try to install cwm. I hope you have the fastbootdrivers installed
copy moto-fastboot.exe to download folder
then download this file.
then open up a cmd window (type it in start menu and open)
Code:
cd %userprofile%/Downloads/
moto-fastboot erase recovery
moto-fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.8-olympus.img
moto-fastboot reboot
hold down the volume button while it is rebooting
then select recovery by pressing the volume down button untill it is shown on your screen en select it by pressing the volume up button
let's first see if this works
Now I can't flash it... -_- I get the error "The phone is to low to flash" and I can't get it charged, I'm seeing if I can charge it.

try turning the phone off, pull the battery out.
Then connect the charger to your phone (use a wallsocket, not usb from pc) and after a few seconds insert the battery, let it charge for a couple of hours
If that doesn't work i think you need to use someone else's battery or charge yours with another atrix.
It Worked!

Here are the four things you need to download (click on the "download original" button on the pages):
1 Odin Multi Uploader https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNCaWy_zhKpZlFtZVZOWmdTbG1xWFdhVG1NSjF1dw/edit?pli=1
2 Cooper OPS file https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNCaWy_zhKpc3VraEtTNDNUZU9FM01KNG1WQkRldw/edit?pli=1
3 Samsung Drivers (You only need these if you dont have Kies installed. If you never installed Samsung Kies, then install these drivers) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNCaWy_zhKpVWlWY3huaTdUOXlPR09YRWdYZFU0dw/edit?pli=1
4 The Firmware Package https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNCaWy_zhKpYXFqaUhYc1dScy1tbURySk9wTFBWUQ/edit?usp=drive_web&pli=1
Ok, once you download all those, follow these steps:
5 Unplug your phone from the PC
6 Install the Samsung Drivers and reboot your PC
7 Extract the Firmware Package zip file and place the two files directly on your desktop
8 Run the Odin program
9 Put your phone in Download Mode and connect it to the PC
10 Put a checkmark on the One Package, Auto Reboot, and Protect OPS options.
11 Click on the OPS Button, and load the Cooper OPS file you downloaded
12 On the bottom of Odin, click on the One Package button.
13 Choose the long named file (S5830DDQ8_ etc.) from your desktop that you unzipped from the firmware package file
14 Press the Start button on Odin
15 Wait about 5-10 minutes, until Odin says "Pass!" at the top. You can then disconnect your phone and if it doesnt reboot on its own, turn it on.
Very Important: As soon as your phone loads, do a factory reset to avoid bootloop. Go into the Settings App, choose Privacy, and then reset the phone. This will complete the process and your phone will be back to an "out of the box" condition. :good:
Hi Sir, I followed your instructions even Odin Pass the flashing of the firmware, it always looping on boot, from samsung logo to boot animation then to samsung logo again, and so on..
glad you can help me here thanks

Be patient and try to follow carefully. But I am afraid to say that if you have done something wrong with above process then you may be never able to recover your ACE. After using Odin method and recovering your ACE to stock mode and following the wiping cache/factory reset etc your ACE will be in perfect factory released condition. After that if you wish to install any custom ROM you need to flash the ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6.zip file. This file you can get easily from Galaxy Ace XDA forum. ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 will enable your rooted device recovery mode functionality to work properly while flashing custom Galaxy ACE 5830 ROMs.
P.S: Precautions:
1. Always use rooted device. (Flash 'Root.zip' once if your device is not rooted)
2. Always follow the instructions written by developer to flash his customized ROM with maximum care that you can for getting things done in proper way.
3. Read the reviews and posts of the customized ROM carefully to get yourself acquainted with the issues and problems of that particular ROM.

I was also having the same problem as of yours but after following the above instructions properly everything was all right. I hope you understand what steps 9-15 exactly means. If you don't then you have surely bricked your phone while trying those steps.
For getting your phone in download mode follow these steps
1. disconnect the usb and switch off the phone.
2. Press volume up + Down and connect usb to phone.
3. The phone will boot in download mode automatically and the drivers will be loaded.
Also let me know if you are successfully getting the 15th step "Pass" msg and if you are rebooting it properly and doing factory reset etc.. ?

flashing only takes 5-6minutes not 11..if u waited for so long better to unplug the device and put it again on download mode..on ODIN reset the files,,if u encounterting BOOTLOP download fullpackage which include APPBOOT, a fullpackage that i only used is XXKPH firmware, if u wanted to UPGRADE to 2.3.6 download XWKTM, XWKPT any of that file, its the best stock ROM last for a day..
note: if u are flashing via odin the OPS file should be renamed to Cooper_v1.0.ops this is very important so that flashing will success..
For Avoiding the bootloop go to recovery mod after you flashed the firmware and do factory reset and reboot the phone.,the bootloop problem will be fix..

I tried to install CWM and TWRP, without success.
I searched the 4 files to repair but I can not find them.
If you can help me I would appreciate it in advance.

Try another cable and make sure you use a port on the motherboard. If using a laptop use the port that is single, whatever side it may be on..
When connecting the phone make sure you have kies installed but NOT running. You can stop all the kies processes in task manager.
Make sure the phone is in download mode BEFORE connecting it to a pc. This ensures the correct drivers are used to communicate with the phone in that specific mode.
Get the md5 hash of the file you're trying to flash and google it to make sure it matches known files.
If you're absolutely sure your cable and port are good, you've tried an official cwm and a known working stock rom but you still get "e:/failed to mount" errors or failing at "nand write start" in odin then you can attempt a .pit file but it is VERY dangerous for the device and can brick it.
Failing that you have a dead device.
