Have you tried putting the phone into download/Odin mode and flashing a ROM that way?

....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Confirmed clears leaked beta test rom KP8.
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
If it sticks at boot factory reset .

If you boil it in hot water for a few minutes it should kill any problems. Alternatively you could try and sprinkle with Hydrogen Peroxide powder and then wash thoroughly. That normally kills all the bugs.
Oh, you meant leaks.
On a side-note, why do you inexperienced users flash things onto their phone that they don't understand?
And yea, do what JJE said.

[Q] Galaxy S2 I9100 ICS

Hello!
I've recently flashed the ICS OS onto my galaxy s2. However it seems to be a UK version as I cannot agree to the software update agreement along with the time won't update automatically. It seems to be a little glitchy on my phone as well...
Is there anyway I can revert back to the old gingerbread?
Thanks,
Yes its buggy, its an alpha and not really daily driver quality
How to get back to gingerbread: see here
Ya I've tried that link, I went to the link for files under the BELL (Canada) network. And there aren't any .tar files in the downloader. It's cache, factoryfs, and modem then zImage. When I flashed ICS there were .tars.
Any more ideas?

*sigh* Download the bell firmware, its a .exe, after you run it, it will extract into a .tar
To quote the thread "If the package only contains one .tar archive then it will have everything, pda+phone+csc, in the one file."
Just shove it into "PDA".
Pleases read the thread.. and flash the bootloaders first, then flash the rom.
Thank you very much. <3
Gotta love noobs....
So saying though, I've reflashed the older bootloader firmware on mine and I'll be stuffed if I can get past a bootloop....
Flashed the KP8 firmware on to test but wanted to go back to older rom...
Tried my stock rom, a few other stock roms and finally went back to KP8..
It was the only one that worked...
Will play around as time permits but doing backshift can REALLY knock you about..

Yeh, I know right, im in a bored/good mood so I have patience!
I know that one, worked a double then a nightshift once, I was dead to the world.
I recognise your avatar, did you ever have a HTC hermies, or a blueangle?
As far as the getting back to GB, you should be fine doing;
1) Odin flash old bootloaders
2) Odin flash firmware
Can you get into CWM recovery? Maybe flash something via zip, white cache/data/etc?
Otherwises thats just weird, I have seen peoples phones do weird things after flashing the ICS leaks, like someones refusing to run CM7, even after flashing back old bootloaders and double flashing the CM7 zip.
Im staying away myself, for the time being, however tempted I am
Yep, Hermies it was.....
As I say, I'll kick this puppy hard and make it do what I want or destroy it in the process... Don't like not being able to do as I want... Got a whole heap of roms to flash using cwm and thanks to chainfire I have a kernel that is rooted and has cwm.
Good idea not to try just yet, could be a harsh learning curve..
For reference, I have a chinese made international sgsII with original firmware XWKG1, might be model specific but who knows....
Take out your exteral sd and make sure you flash your old modem back.

These uppity electronic devices, cant let them get the better of us!
I am sure there will be some combo of flashes and hand waving that will give it a good kick in the head.
As long as its a i9100 it shouldn't make a difference, still weird though.
Ok, fixed it good...
You need to flash with ODIN 6 times...
!st I flashed stock rom, I had a full screen of red error messages, ignore them. I then flashed cf-root over the top. I got into recovery by holding down up volume, home button and power until sgs logo appeared then released power. Held in other buttons until recovery menu appeared...
I then cleared cache, dalvik cache and then went into mounts and formatted everything (remove your sd card or it will be wiped too).
Flash stock with Odin a second time, the cf-root a 2nd time. Repeat above steps but also in advanced fix permissions.... Also do a full wipe of data..
Flash with ODIN a 3rd time, 1st stock then cf-root... You should be back up and running... Now flash away with whatever rom you please and leave KP8 alone until its easier to fix...
Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense and its possible I did a few steps more than I needed but I just got home after a lovely night at work and REALLY need sleep...
Cheers, hope this helps....
Thats just mental, glad you got it working though

guys i need some help .. i flashed 4.0.3 on my SGS2 ..as we know the rom is quite buggy so i tried going back to 2.3.6. Here is what happens..
I flashed stock GB using odin .. phone boots but takes me to the 'emergency dial' screen with a finger constantly telling me to touch the android... at the same time i'm getting thousands of FC messages.
I've tried restoring backups of my GB rom, the one i was using before flashing ICS but all the backups fail..saying 'system.img' file not found
I've tried flashing 2 differnet roms using odin but the same happens. .. i'm forced to only flash the laggy buggy ICS rom but i want to go back to GB
A step by step guide will be much appreciated.
Thanks

I think my situation has worsened now.. i flashed the old bootloaders using ezodin and it got stuck at 'setting up connection' .. now any file that i flash using odin gets stuck at the same and doesnt go beyond. trying recovery says 'error encountered while upgrading firmware' try recovery mode in kies.
what do i do now?

Thats for i9000, I dont know if it will work with i9100, and may have bricked your phone.
Should have just used standard odin
Can you get into download mode?
Do you have a backup of the stock or another rom that you can then revert back to stock from?
Just curious as to what the issue is, ICS is running fine for me, only issue is the video codecs which I knew about. Maybe a reflash would help if its glitchy?

i got myself back into ics using odin.. then i flashed old bootloaders.. and flashed stock GB again...result is still the same.. takes me into that emergency call screen with many FCs..
how do i go about it now....
I wouldnt want to change back if the battery wasnt so bad with ics and the number of times it hangs my phone was less ...

Ok, so you have bootloader from gingerbread back on your phone?
If you had flashed i9000 bootloaders onto your i9100 you would have bricked, you haven't, we are all good.
Now you just need to fix the FC'ing, what stock rom are you flashing?

First off u dont use odin to put superuser on it...its in the play store all u use odin for is to root thats it u never use again PM me and ill help u with ur problem we can fix anything on the i717 sometimes even bricking!! So dont ever think we cant
cm9
There is a thread in the i717 section that will lead u step by step read and read again! Only use odin to root and to install cwm nothing else! Backup ur stock rom then find a custom rom that suits u and happy flashing!
cm9
it will not even flash in odin now. i just tried it about 5 times and no go.
so how was or how did they dertermin that you were out of warranty ? it came out in like feb so did they say it was altered or somthing?
Ur doing something wrong man.....if u was able to get in odin before now u cant its on ur end not the phone
cm9
if you can get into download mode then start from scratch. I personally would re root
then reinstall recovery then flash a rom. take it step by step. I know there are roms you can Odin that will give you root but since your having issues I would do them separately. edit
just try Odin the stock rom tar since you just want to send it in

Stucked at relooping samsung logo

Hi guys i have a issue here.
My phone was initially rooted in clockworkmod and running cyogenomod 10. But the rom kept hanging which pisses me a little.
So, i did a stock rom install using odin. After the reflash, i can see and hear the startup music, thereafter, it starts to restart. From there on, it reloops at the samsung S3 GT-I9300.
I tried to send to samsung for repair and they couldnt resolve this. Instead the recovery mode was restored back to the original (without clockworkmod now).
With my issues, can you guys help me on this whether can i restore the phone again? Appreciate your comments!
*BTW, i had backup in clockworkmod on my external sd card.

Could not do factory reset in software because i cant even get to that.
Did the "reset" in recovery mode by deleting user data files, doesn't work
Is this a complete brick for me?
I do not wanna send in the phone for the MB changeout till i can resolve this.
Anyone knows what to do next? Appreciate the help given.

If you wont read the basics then yes take to service and pay for a repair as you do not have a clue what you are doing its safer .

I also think something went wrong while flashing. As stated above, try factory reset and flash again. My guess would be you forgot to wipe your (Dalvik) cache, had a similar problem.

If that is, i had done that also.
You said Samsung didn't manage to fix it? It it was a local repair center?
The only thing to do is to flash a whole complete stock Rom with Odin, see in stock roms there's I'm general section to grab one. You can try also to use Samsung s3 toolkit in original android section, stickies.. if you have a Rom image it will be easier to flash it with it no risk messing with Odin settings.
Perhaps you should read about pit corruption, it can be this also.

Tried PIT flashing method, still no help...
Hello.. I have faced similar issue in India with looping of logo on my Galaxy S3.
I went to the official service center and they flashed my phone 2 times with original stock rom but the issue did not go.
Finally they have to replace my phone's mother board completely and it got resolved.
I am still not sure how this has happened or is it some kind of virus.. but i was watching a video and my phone hanged and looping of logo started on my S3.
Good that my phone was under warantee so i did not have to pay any money...
But some senior members should through some light on it...
Hi Guys,
i managed to get it back to stock rom by flashing the below linked rom.
The samsung service are really......What they can't solve, they would use the worst scenario which is to change the board...
Actually i have been charged (30 bucks) by them which they can't resolve. They told me that they had flashed the ROM and that incured the charges....I was thinking wat dafuq....Cannot resolve still have the cheek to charge me. Anyway in short, they void my warranty because they saw the cwm. They were very happy when they saw that.... Anyway the warranty left 3 months, not of a issue to me.
For people who have the same issue with me, just flashed the rom (JB) that was in the below link. All the best.

[Q] P7510 Help

Hey guys I am looking for any help or suggestions that anyone here might have. My galaxy (p7510) crashed today and tried to restart itself at which point it freezes while booting and will not do anything. So I tried to do a restore from an old backup through CWM but when I try to do this CWM just freezes up in the same manner and nothing happens. So then I tried to do a factory reset in CWM and this causes it just crash and try to restart once again. So CWM and Android are both not working. I then tried to flash a rom with ODIN and it immediately fails and now I can't do anything as it seems that Android has been killed by the ODIN attempt. For reference I was running TASK650'S build of AOKP, which I have been using since about May so it doesn't seem to be the reason for the problem. I'm out of ideas and the warranty is long gone, does anyone have an idea?
@TheFartingRetard
I had a similar problem...
I had to wipe my sdcard.. what I did was flash a rom.. it wouldn't boot ( any rom I tried )..so then I flashed a rom ( clean flash )and before I rebooted I wiped my sdcard.. and low and behold.. it booted..
This actually happened to me twice.. sucks as I lost all my files..
Before this you could try to Odin the stock rom and see if that works... sometimes going back to stock helps in these not so clear situations..

Thanks for the input but the problem is deeper than that. The problem is that when I try to use ODIN i get an automatic fail. I have tried already to use stock roms but nevertheless it fails for some strange reason. I am using new wires, I have tried multiple ports on multiple computers and nothing seems to work. I do know how to use ODIN as I use it in conjunction with other devices all the time. This leaves me dumbfounded. Also I can't wipe the internal memory because im running Clockworkmod and it crashes when I try to do any task at all. Including system format and sd wipes.
Do you have any other ideas? Thanks in advance

Can you get a zip for infamous TWRP on the device... or you could try to push it with adb or Odin... I'm just thinking if you can get a good recovery on it you might be able to get out of this squeeze... look at the infamous aokp thread and see if you can get that recovery on the device.. I've not had a problem since dumping cwm and going to TWRP..
Sorry I can't be more help... I'll look around and see what I can find..

Thanks so much for the help, I was able to push the recovery to CWM but when I try to install it, it freezes and attempts to restart android same as before. ODIN is not doing much better. I don't see much else I can do. This was really a last ditch effort and probably the weirdest type of bricking I've ever seen. Thanks so much for your help and should anything come to mind, Ill monitor this thread for a week or two.
@TheFartingRetard
You might try to run it completely out of power and then put it on a charge for a couple hours...after which see if Odin will work...I've seen it before, but under a little different circumstance. It will take it a day or two to power down if you tape/use a rubberband on the power button..depending on charge...I've heard it taking a week.
Don't now why this works or how,but I've read about it fixing multiple problems..from Odin not recognizing the device to no ROM will boot..Odin or cwm...
Anyway...its something to try while we look for a more definitive answer.

what about getting a stock recovery on then trying Odin
seen stuff about using the power down method maybe that helps, boot loaders perhaps might try changing them back to old honeycomb one just for laughs

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 big problem :(

Please help me i manually updated my s2 into a jellybean 4.1.3. The problem is that when i was listening to my music and tried to change tracks.. the screen is just black but the music keeps playing. even when i unplugged the earphone and plugged it back in the music kept playing. then i removed the battery and start it it's just stuck in the welcome screen. i tried to put it in recovery mode but it doesnt work. i tried to wait it out for almost 30 mins to reboot but it's just looping.. now it wont start. im still charging it and the welcome screen just pops out of nowhere, what am i supposed to do??? how do i fix my phone?
If you've got no recovery you don't really have any other option but to flash stock in download mode with Odin. Get a stock rom from Samfirmware, boot into download mode, flash with Odin (How ? Thread stickied near top of Q&A titled 'Flash stock firmware' has instructions). Problems with Odin flash ? Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in General has all the info you need to get a successful flash.
You won't lose any data simply flashing stock, but be aware this may not fix the issue on its own & you may need to do a factory reset after the flash to fix it (may still bootloop after flash) - you will obviously lose data if you need to do this.
Also think its worth a try to boot int CWM recovery if you have it installed or any other recovery and do an factory reset, but like the post before me, i suggest to install a new rom 4.1.2 becaus it looks like the one you were on had corupted files. Try and see, google for info, we are here for you =)

Try and see, google for info, we are here for you =)

hi i finally got it back to start again... but the camera and earphone slot is malfunctioning :| when i went to the cam it says "Warning: camera failed" and for the music the loudspeaker is not working coz in the notification bar theres an earphone icon even without plugging the earphone. i did a factory reset and the music went back to normal and after a few minutes there it goes again... still the camera wont work. :< i appreciate your help
well thats def. the soft then. You still could manualy try to replace system apps with root acces and programs but there coud be more things broken that you wont record on first sight, rly would recomend to install new firmware with Odin, then you would see further what to do, if your problem is solved:fingers-crossed: wish you luck

i did flash a new CWM. and wiped everything. thats what i've been trying to do... flash a new rom but odin cant detect my phone when in DL mode but when my phone is on odin can detect it. i've tried every possible remedy that i've read here in xda and in other forums and still nothing
ok but you know there are roms that you can install from CWM/twrp directly =D? I would prefer twrp becaus of my lack of volume buttons, but on cwm you can go to mount and select usb storrage or somethink like that and upload your CWM rom on it, and then do again f.reset, wipe system and data in advanced and install zip from sd card think, in cwm recovery. Then you have your new rom on it. And after that you can solve your usb conction problem, mabe some drivers are missing so you could reinstall it, but i newer had that problem on my win7, the basic drivers that it auto downloads are working for me

this one is neat rom custom 4.1.2 its tweaked with advanced functions and... well there is lot to read but its an rly nice one, if you need stock go for google or search on xda for cwm compatible gs2 4.1.2 rom or gs2 4.1.2 rom for cwm

i tried it last night. flashing via sd card still nothing. E: signature verification failed is showing. and i tried everything you said too. still nothing. i follwed every step that other people told me. :'( still nothing is happening
I had a problem when my Samsung Drivers recently updated themselves.
I had to uninstall my SGS2 as a device then download some older drivers which I found on here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/usb-drivers-samsung-usb-drivers-mobile-t1655286
The Mirror link in post #1 not the main one.
After that my PC could start talking to my phone again.
you will receive "signature verification failed " when the file you are trying to flash is not flashable. maybe it was a bad download. if you want to try the same rom again. download the file from the thread again else try some other rom.
if you have reached till recovery then it shouldnt stop you from flashing a rom/kernel.

i flashed ICS via recovery and it's working now but the camera (front and back) and earphone jack is still not working.. maybe it's the hardware itself.. im going to a samsung service center in a couple of days. thanks bro that really helped me discover a new way to flash a rom via recovery!

Hi! so i did flashed my phone and everything is done correctly.. still the cam and earphone jack didnt work so i went to samsung smartcare center and the told me that i have to pull it out coz the issue of my phone is a board problem... is there anyway to fix that? im from the philippines btw... i remembered that when i went to the gym that's when it all started. When i disassembled my phone there are white smudges around the cam and earphone jack area it was kinda hard and it looked like a dry liquid so maybe i thought that caused to make a short circuit (is that correct?) that's what i thought what happened to mess the cam and earphone jack.. is there a way to fix the board? i cant let my phone go to waste it has a sentimental value.
Corrosion/damage to the motherboard = motherboard replacement. Replacing individual components would cost you at least twice (and more) as much as a new board if it was possible (and it's not), and almost nobody would attempt it for that reason, let alone the size of the components on the board/how fiddly it would be.
Chances are you've got multiple components failing.
So, Samsung service centre does not suck, your post is wrong & they are telling you the truth.
