This didn't happen on v6 but started with v8 and continues with v10 where I choose a track for my ringtone and sms notifier that are not stock android sounds that are not recognized after a reboot.
I'll choose a song to be a ringtone and it will work until I reboot the phone. On reboot if I go into sound settings the ringtone will be listed as unidentified and it will not play the sound if someone calls me.
Has anyone else had this issue and knows of a fix?

Hey guys,
I recently installed MiUi on my RAY with FXP kernel and I have a problem with Incoming call's ringtone\sound.
1. I set an mp3 ringtone from the settings menu (I can hear the ringtone) but when I have incoming call there is no sound like in silent mode (I'm not in silent mode) but I see incoming call activity on the screen, I tried many ringtones any Idea for a solution?
2. I did some tests and find out that if I put the mp3 ringtone inside the music dir on my sd-card and it recognized by the default music player on the device then it works
After flashing .209 from .181 I seem to have issues where I do not get any sounds from incoming calls and messages. The notification light goes on but no sounds. If I try to modify the sound via settings it freezes.
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
Hey I am having some major sound issues with my device. The only changes I have made are rooting it. Sound modes seem to have no effect on volume sliders. When the volume is on and if I go to vibrate mode or silent mode, nothing happens. All the volume stays on and will continue. I tried bypassing the issue by installing volume control + with no results. Volume sliders were not changed by the app either. Anyone else have this issue, any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks
Update: Resolved, there was something wrong with the root package I used the first time. I used a new one and all is good.
Afaik 'silent' only applies to alerts and notifications such as the phone ringing on incoming calls. It does not apply to the multimedia volume.

The issue includes notifications and ringtone. They both continue to play at normal volumes in silent and vibrate mode.
Changing to cyanogenmod fixed this issue for me.
Hi Everyone,
i have International HTC One X+, stock ROM not rooted ... you can say .. i didn't change any things (ROM, Recovery etc) since i purchased ... a Virgin phone
i have that problem only last week where i noticed i miss a lot of call, then i found that the phone always on zero level (with no silent icon in notification), even i change the volume using the volume keys, it's not changing the volume level for ringtones .. media and alarm ringtones can be changed, and i can hear the music and the the alarm, but not the ringtone.
i had Audio Manager Pro app and then i uninstall it .. still the same issue.
i go to Setting > Sound then i change the ringtone, once i press OK it's again goes to zero
Can anyone help me here,
Thanks
My phone become silent (at least for all kind of notifications voice calls, SMS, emails, tapatalk and all other events)
While I the sound plays on preview in sound picker.
I can play music via media player also. Only notifications are silent when they should play.
Assigned notification tones are all valid.
Phone is not in quiet mode or rest hours. Having CM11 installed..

Check the setting, the rom is almost stable so there is not an issue like that. Reflashing the rom will probably help.
I was looking at it and fond the source, my phone was swiched to night profile which I didn't know because I don't use profiles. After switching to default profile all sounds are played again.
Have another problem with sound: sometimes after phone restart the sound menu and all other apps sound settings don't locate the assigned sound tones although I can locate them in place by root explorer. They're placed at /system/media/audio/.
How that's possible the audio files are sometimes "invisible" to Android and apps they use them for playing notifications?
In field for selected ringtone there's label "unknown ringtone" instead of chosen ringtone. This fixes sometimes after phone restart.
