Anybody know if the any of the honeycomb rom's would work on the view? I am assuming that the 4G would not work unless the drivers were present but I don't know what else is different so I don't know if it would be too much of a difference to run on a View.
Us View owners just don't get any love do we? Did you ever find anything out. I would think the HC leak would work since if I recall right, it was a leak from a View wasn't it?
Are there even any View Custom Roms available yet?
I don't think there are any for us yet. What I really wish there was was a forum for us andi hate to beat a dead horse but I don't think there will be one any time soon. That sucks

Ouch guys, talking like my rom doesn't exist

Don't feel that way. I for one am thankful for the custom rom's that you have released. This wasn't meant in that way. I have been asked this same question by view users that I know and I figured if anybody would know, this would be the place to get the answer. I personally am not that anxious for honeycomb. I have just started trying to develop and theme for GB and I am not in a hurry to change to a newer rom.
I was just kidding guys. As soon as they fix the tools for theming, my rom (and everyone elses probably) will go custom ;-)

Is it possible? I heard someone was working on porting it to tegra, but that's when it first came out...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
its ported to a few tegra2 devices, i played with the idea but didnt have time lately, would have to see if we could use the source code of the moto/cm7 kernel to start off or if it needs a newer kernel. it would however be great to have meego on it (just played with the n9 today and omg the interface is so smooth and lagless - havent seen a phone performing as good ever). you can check a bit here http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/TEGRA2
nvidia released some drivers for tegra2 and meego
hey samcripp i was talking to the meego/mer guys today and they said it shouldnt be too ahrd to port, but it would be nice to have a dualboot/or have the phone boot from external sdcard, at that point akizakian told me you told him its possible, would oyu mind sharing how? thanks man.
Why no dev doing this?
Why don't you do it yourself?
You make it sound as if being a developer is a job.
I'm getting an Atrix soon (despite being a Tmobile customer) And would love to know if there is any support for this? Also are there any ports of other OS's or no?
Very few would be capable of such feat...

Besides, it can be dead, but it's still great. We all know it is...

Well mer/plasma is its fully open source derivative. A guy has put it on tegra 2 tablets ages ago, tsdtest and I tried to get something to boot on the atrix but with no debugging possible on kernel level before boot we gave up...
yeah, we did a bit of experimenting a while back but never got it to boot. If anyone wants to give it a shot again please stop by the irc channel sometime (#moto-atrix on freenode) i'd love to give some help if i can, and i'm sure crnkoj would be happy to as well.
Also, the guys on #mer were helpful at the time.
The help of a kernel expert would also be very welcome.
As tsdtest said. I think the guy who ported it to the tabs has the nick vgrade1
Ye bouncing ideas on #moto-atrix is always welcome.
Edit tsdedst
Haven't been reading the forums lately, so I don't know if somebody's already working on this, but I want to port over ics android 4.0 to the nook tablet. I need one tester, but not for a little while, mainly because I don't even own the tablet.
The tester is going to have to be there when I need him and be able to report bugs, logcat, etc.
This is my first attempt at developing, so expect things to be slow
Also, if some of the devs are willing to help when I need it, that would be amazing
This is not a guarantee that you will get ics. But its a hope
I would love to be your tester, and yes some guys are already working on CM 9. They even wanna get the 3.2 kernel working...

can't we just use the 3.x kernel?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440438 has the latest progress from ics porting (plus the 3.x kernel thread you posted).
Yeah, both the CM7 and CM9 development here are pretty closed...CM7 insists they want a polished product before release and CM9 is going above and beyond with their kernel work, but I know for a fact that they had it 90% a few weeks ago, so I don't know why the news is slow in coming.
I'd gladly help you if you need some work, I not only have a NT but I have an 8-core machine for compiling, I'd be more than happy to build from your github as well.
Hmm... Well if they're that close to being done.. :/
But, the only thing stopping me is having the proprietary libs, which I can't get without the NT.

I can't help you now, but here is some tips.
Use Clockwork Recovery, you can restore and backup and install
Use some drivers from Kindle Fire Android 4.0 Firmware, not too many though.
Rest of the options should be Nook Tablet-based. You might be able to use some Nook Color drivers, but I highly doubt it.

Hey guys,
I think I know the answer to this, but CM7 is not ready for the 8GB tablet correct? I just rooted it last night and would love to get CM on there but I don't want to screw anything up.
It should be supported on the next release of cm7. Stay tuned.

So I'm sure we are all going to be wondering about this.
CyanogenMod made the announcement today that if they will begin working on CM10 as soon as they get official source for it. If your device has a CM9 then it will be getting CM10. Good news for us since we have CM9.
Team Kang announced that they will be releasing M6 this weekend after that they will not be working on ICS releases anymore and will take a short break then begin with JB.
Rollout of these ROMS should be quick because they don't have to restart they just have to merge stuff into the ICS builds.
Just giving you all a heads up.

Long time since I posted in TFP forums... This might just make me unlock my TFP... So far some of the horror stories made me worried about unlocking and I was reasonably content with Stock. But I must say that it is kinda buggy and Project butter on a Tegra 3 is blowing my mind... :silly:
We may still be a month or more off until we see something though!

Just a correction regarding AOKP, the post Roman made on G+ indicates that they are going to start fresh on JB as they suspect there will be issues merging changes into existing ICS base. That said the turn around should be a fair bit quicker with JB as most customizations should still work.

I just unlocked mine a few days ago, and it was pretty straight forward to unlock. However, I can't install any roms. I try to install a rom and CWM says "Can't mount sdcard." Even a factory reset fails and I don't know what to do. I am stuck on Asus .28 firmware atm and I want to install the Wook ROM.

Read before you flash stuff. Its written in red letters, in all recovery threads, that external sdcard is not available.
Put rom zip in internal sdcard (flash memory on your device)

I am sure things will be smooth with unlocking ... but I am just being careful as of now as I don't need it anyway. I'll wait till Team Kang or CyanogenMOD team release JB... If Asus is gonna release an update in the same timeframe then I'll try and stay stock. But otherwise, forget the damn warranty and hello jellybean!!!

Truthfully they accomplish the same thing. You shouldn't run into any issues, but hopefully someone who knows recoveries better gives you a more definite answer.

The reason that we run TWRP instead of clockwork is that there's a bad version of clockwork mod touch that causes "Brick 1a" in the sticky that's labeled something like How To Unbrick Your Prime. The most similar version of the regular clockwork mod may also have this problem but most of the one's I've fixed remotely for people were using clockwork mod touch.
Although it's labeled brick 1a, in my opinion it's not a brick. But since you can't boot to the rom people freak out. What happens is when you boot to recovery and then try to reboot system, the device reboots to recovery again. No matter what you do from the on the device just loops from Asus Eee Pad screen to recovery.
Fixing it just requires running a command in ADB on your computer. Newer repackaged versions of clockwork have been done by some really nice guys here on XDA which are supposed to have that bug in the software fixed. Because this was such a prevalent issue a lot of developers write their stuff to work great with TWRP because it hasn't ever had this problem.
It's one of those weird things where some people have clockwork installed and don't have problems and others have lots of problems with what seems like the very same software combination. I actually bought my prime really cheap because the owner was running clockwork mod and had the brick 1a happen and he couldn't fix it. Once I received it, in an hour or two I had gotten a good ADB connection and ran the command and was good to go. I thought maybe it was a fluke and tried to continue with clockwork mod and had the same thing happen again, so finally I switched over to TWRP recovery and it was a great decision, I haven't looked back since.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still new to rooting and what not. My thunderbolt and Nexus were rooted and have been enjoying learning. Finally found a decent deal on a prime so i jumped on it. This WookRom is good, but buggy at times. Thinking of going with twrp and then a different rom. Any suggestions?

What kernel are you using? Wooks Rom for me was only ever slightly unstable when using custom kernel. I have since reverted to stock with the EZ overclock app to put performance mode into 1.6ghz and its amazing. I'd suggest you do this. If you are on stock and finding it unstable then I dunno
But yes use twrp

I'm running JB on my Galaxy Nexus and absolutely love it. I can't wait for an AOKP version for both my Nexus and my Prime!
Oh, the conundrums!
See, now I'm so torn... do I get a GNex and the immediately available JB, or do I wait for an AOKP ROM for the Galaxy S III? Urgh!
