Default HTC 5.1 Virtual Surround Sound - HTC EVO 3D

I've searched around looking for an answer to this problem for a while, but can't find it anywhere.
I have the 3vo GSM and when I got it out of the box it had 3 audio choices in the music/video players. It had standard stereo, virtual Surround and HTC Virtual Surround sound.
I rooted my phone but decided to flash back the stock ROM. After flashing the ROM back, I lost the HTC surround sound option.
Is there a way to get it back? Would it be a simple apk or is it a file that needs to be flashed?
Thanks for the help!

I'm a CDMA evo 3d user. As far as i remember it had :
1:No effects
2.SRS
3.Equalisers(headphones only)
And i think it is same for stock rom on gsm evo 3d...
Your Evo might had another ROM not stock one if you purchased from somewhere else.....
Have you restored a nandroid backup or downloaded a stock rom from somewhere?

I purchased it directly from Rogers, a cellular company in Canada.
I downloaded the stock Rogers ROM from a post in the GSM section here. For some reason I couldn't get my phone to make a nandroid, it would freeze up. Everything is there on the ROM I downloaded except the HTC Surround Sound.

Mine is a 3.0 ROM, stock. So it should have it. I don't feel like flashing a custom ROM on here again, cause it only gave me problems.
So, anyone have any idea how to get it back?

Did you see it when your headphones are plugged in or out? I would only see htc surround when my headphones are plugged in...

Nope, tried with headphones, it's still not there. I get the equalizer option and SRS Enhancement, but no HTC Surround Sound..
Any other ideas?

This option is only in videos played using the htc gallery/video player. Here's a screen shot of the option.

My video player only has the 2 default ones, SRS and No Audio Effects.
I liked the HTC one the most for some reason.

Have you checked under the battery to see if it had fell out? Also, there may be some chip creep going on, have you tried shaking the phone in a up and down motion with the head phones plugged in while browsing the gallery with a movie paused? This always worked for me!
Edit: forgot to mention you may have a blown sub, which is why your not seeing the 5.1 surround your talking about so it is defaulting back to stereo//

My reaction exactly.
You know, I blew my phones sub. That 7.1 surround sound system will never be the same in my phone again!

Hate to do this.. but Bump since I still haven't fixed this.

If it helps, decompiling the HTC music app reveals images relating to this.

Odd.... Might be something rogers added in?

Don't think it's the volume button. I used volume + app to turn the system volume all the way up

HTC Stepup Ring tone

First time back in a few years.I think I joined when I had the first evo, then I went to the evo 3D and then the rezound now I'm back on sprint and have the evo 4G LTE.
Does anyone know where I could get the old step up ring tone that was on the older HTC phones? I searched here and found nothing worthwhile and all google gave me was songs from the stepup movie and some pop music.
Try the app called zedge. It has thousands of ringtones

[Q] Evo 3D 4G Not working

I purchased my Evo 3D USED about a week ago, activated it, and everything BUT 4G works.
I have another 4G phone (Epic 4G) and it connects perfectly fine.
I called sprint twice, once one day after activation, and another a week after activation, both time they lead me through the same process, updating the profile info, resetting the msdn info, etc and on the second call they ruled it as a hardware issue.
Current state of my Evo 3D
S-OFF Revolutionary
1.4 hboot
Running MikVirgin.
Tried Stock Rom
Tried Mean Rom
I've tried going outside and going to other places with 4G, but to no avail 4G does not work.
I turn 4G on,
1. scan
2. connecting to sprint
3. authenticating with sprint
4. disconnected
I "upgraded" from a Samsung Replenish which waived the 10$ surcharge that is put on smartphones, could this be part of my problem?
I am able to return the phone but first want to be sure that the phone is indeed the problem.
Thanks for reading!
Try mwakious 3.0 ROM for HTC EVO 3D or try a RUU to bring you back to stock everything and it will work I hope.

It sounds like he is cdma so that rom won't work. I'm grasping at straws, but it sounds like his phone is not provisioned properly for 4G on the network. It seems like it tries to authenticate and is being denied.

I did call sprint, so wouldn't they have pointed out that maybe my plan, or my phone wasn't correctly configured to connect to 4G, and wouldn't updating the profile correct the problem?

One would hope they were competent. I was guessing based on it said authenticating then disconnect and that you are not paying the surcharge. You may need to take it to the Sprint store for repair.

HTC Music with SoundHound integration?

Okay so apparently the "HTC Music" app on the HTC Evo 4G LTE includes a button for SoundHound integration that enables LiveLyrics for the song currently playing (with Beats Audio, of course). I've been trying the various recent ICS ROMs for the Evo 3D and I have yet to see a SoundHound button show up in HTC Music. Is anyone working on this? Is there a way to turn it on?
It's a long shot, but have you tried to replace the apk used in the evo 3d Roms with the new one?

No I haven't tried that yet. So I should just download an Evo 4G LTE ROM and extract the HTCMusic.apk from it and install it while running my Evo 3D ICS ROM? Do you know what the version is on the HTC Music app for the Evo 4G LTE?

You have to be on a Sense 4.0 ROM. Once you are, if SoundHound is not installed go to market and install it. Once you do it will auto-integrate itself into the HTC Music player. I'm running it right now on Venom3D.
Cool. I'm going to try the latest nightly of "Viper3D" from here:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/EVO_3D_Developers/Virus/Team_Venom/Viper3D/Nightly/
I saw one developer said that none of the Sense 4 ROMs have working 3D or WiMAX. Is that true?

I think Team Nocturnal is close to cracking it, but have not. So as of this time, 3d and wimax do not work on sense 4 Roms.

HTC One Tmo --> HTC One Google Edition

Hi. Did somebody try to fully convert (CID, MID, bootloader, recovery ,radio, hboot, i mean ROM and firmware our Tmo version to the GE version? Does Tmo LTE works on GE version?
i just ordered my t mobile htc one, coming from a galaxy nexus (just love the build quality of the one and screen more than nexus 4) i know how to root and install roms but i heard that it's possible to converted the t mo htc one to the goole play edition so we can get the OTA updates. is that true?
I think it is only possible with the international GSM version, as it is identical with the HTC One GE. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I did it and came back to sense. It was nice but with gpe you lose WiFi calling, nice tv remote, and in 4.3 you loose beats audio.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
It's possible to flash to the GE using RUU. You can find the thread under android development. And you still have beats audio in 4.3.

4.3 has working ir and beats audio

4.3 Beats audio is far better then 4.2.2 Beats audio on GE roms. I converted fine, but keep in mind that at this time its impossible to do it with the new update unless you prior had S-Off.

There should be a way around 531.11 to get s-off right?

I recently did the conversion listed in the regular HTC One forum and I'm picking up LTE just fine. Still haven't figured out how to get the IR to work in 4.3 though. Everything else is great, no wifi-calling however.
Yes, with GE Rom and even GE radio, we can get LTE signal. So guys, we can do conversion, and enjoy truly Google Edition experience!
I don't even know if I get wifi calling on TMO on Sense... how can i tell?

Settings -> under Wireless & Networks heading -> More -> Wi-Fi Calling
you'll have it though for sure as long as you're a TMO One.
I have the black bootloader, with the black Google splash, I did have the radio but because of significant decrease in LTE service I went back to the most recent T-Mobile radio. I am running Viper Rom and only WiFi calling is missing, not that I use/need it anyhow. you should definitely go for it! The ALL black is sweet.
someone please help me, i did the full GPE conversion in september and all of a sudden for the past few days my phone screen wont turn on after i take it out of my pocket and sometimes restarts on its own. i reset the phone and still nothing. i want to know how can i turn my phone back to stock with s-on and the rest? i think i have to return my phone.
