koush [creator of rom manager] made cwm recovery compatible for ace but rom manager is not able to correctly identify phone
that may be case..
and also you can see rom manager has list of roms which are right now historical

Question regarding CWM and Rom Manager

Can Clockwork Mod be installed on the SGS2 too enable backups etc???
I'm not a complete noob when it comes to Android, but am new to Samsung devices and just want a easy way to backup and restore before I start messing with themes kernels etc etc
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Not until it has been added to the supported devices for CWM. Each device is different, different boot sectors, different partition sizes and a fair few other bits. Each one has to be supported, and as of yet, CWM does not support SGS II.
Hopefully soon it will
Still no Rom manager compatible with SG2 ????....

Ace bricked.

Well, I am posting this behalf of my friend....
He had ClockWorkMod Recovery installed and Rooted his Ace on a stock firmware...
Just a few mins back he installed the ROM Toolbox app from the market.
After installing and running the app, the app told him to restart his phone and after that the phone is stuck on the "S5830" logo....
He is able to get into Recovery Mode, and also tried wiping everything but hes still stuck on that logo
Please help.
Kind of urgent...

Yeah, I had that in my mind too but my friend is unable to flash right now, so any other alternatives?
no backup?
if CWM is working properly try to flash again the ROM zip and do the full wipe...
as u said he tried to wipe but still stuck, odin is the only solution now.

Is there anyone else here that has used ROM Toolbox and bricked their Ace?
Cause I used it on Samsung Galaxy 3 and it did not cause any problems....
No, I'm aware of every single app that has "ROM" in its name. If you know what I mean.

If he used ROM Manager to install CWM, then it can't be repaired :/
I mean, ROM Manager is very dangerous for Ace. Many people have bricked their phone by using it. It may be compatible with Galaxy 3 but on Ace, it's DANGEROUS

Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-i589 CWM recovery needed

need a help guys , can anyone try porting CWM for Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-i589 ??
Try using the Ace recovery on your phone. It is most likely to work because both phones are similar to each other.

Good new ACE user's, found 100% working TWRP and CWM6 for our device
Cheers,

Mod Edit: Links removed.
Are you sure, because the original developer section is several Custom recovery for our Ace model ported from Gio and not everything although it can be installed, but some items do not work as a USB mass storage and full wipe the problem of recovery.

Any news for rebuild this recovery?
For now, no new. Very busy with my first job, but working on this project.
my ext is ext3. I read that the cwm is ext4 only. IS that a problem?
I've made a cwm back of my cm9 rom using cwm 5.0.2.6: when I change my ext 3 to ext4, can i still use my cm9 backup to restore using cwm?

Almost all roms are in ext4 file system. Btw, cwm works on all roms. It is px recovery that only supports ext4 roms. You can easily restore your backup, don't worry.

Clone S3 is not an S3. It's a different phone completely, that just happens to LOOK like an S3. We don't know the answer.
Imagine the S3 is a house brick and the clone is a block of butter, painted red. You can't ask a builder to build a house when all you have got are blocks of red butter.
Nice analogy

No idea. You need a red butter forum. This is a brick forum. We only know about bricks. Sorry

Simple find a clone forum or read the hundreds of posts asking exactly the same .
Answer is not found here we don't know you do not have a SGS3 .
Pointless asking the same question day after day .
