I was eating lunch and turned my car off. Tried to watch a YouTube video and had no sound. Volume was good. Tried music. Nothing. Rebooted phone and still working. I then noticed the bluetooth symbol was still showing on my radio. Opened door and shut it and it went away. Redid video and had sound. I then turned accessory back on to roll windows up and then back off again. Phone lost sound again.
I have a Mustang with Ford Sync. Was curious if this would happen with other bluetooth stereos. Guess I will just have to turn bluetooth off.
is the audio volume turned down in your car? You're still streaming Bluetooth audio even after the car is off with the head unit still on

Hello,
I've got a strange problem.
I connect the phone with my A2DP receiver in my car. The car audio has the function to switch automaticly to source A2DP if there is a signal.
On first connect everything works fine, bun on reconnect (leave the car, come back and reconnect) the phone sends a very low noise so that the car audio switches to A2DP.
There is no player running on the phone.
Samsung voice to go and vlingo or similar are not installed (I hear the same noise when vlingo is in listening mode).
When I start a player, start music and stop again, the noise is gone and the car audio swiches back to radio.
If I use a MW600 instead I can hear the noise too, when I turn the volume up.
I had the issue with Stock KI4 and now with CheckROM V6 too.
Did someone noticed this noise too? I there something I can do?
thanks
Andre
I've flashed my T-959D (Telus) to SlimICS 4.2. Everything seems to work great (after I remapped the vol keys to reverse them back) except for bluetooth weirdness in my car.
The phone pairs correctly and I can make and take calls just as before, but at first glance it seems that while media audio was shown as connected, there was no sound when I played an mp3. So I tried a headphone cable into the aux jack of my car stereo and still nothing. However, when I pulled out the headphone jack from my phone, suddenly I had media playing over bluetooth... but only for about 2 seconds when the phone then mysteriously muted itself. I can repeat this process at will. No sound until I pull out the headphone jack... and then only for a second or two, then the phone mutes.
I'm assuming this must be some sort of setting or mixup with regards to the headset removal action. But I'm not sure where to check on this. Is there some sort of setting for it that might be screwed up? I really rely on my bluetooth audio for podcasts and music playback. I might have to go back to PassionICS since it worked there. But so far I like SlimICS a whole lot better and would rather get this working if I can.
Update - after installing the HeadphoneStatus app from the market, it appears that the phone thinks the headphones are plugged in when they are not. Not sure that this is a hardware issue since the thing worked perfectly this morning before flashing the rom.
Hoping someone else sees problems with Car Bluetooth connectivity.
Here are my symptoms:
1. No problem pairing this phone. From that point forward, no problem with maintaining the pair.
2. When paired, the phone shows that both "Phone Audio" and "Media Audio" are connected (boxes green checked)
3. When paired, the car Color Touchscreen shows " "Phone Audio" (screen icons for battery and cell strength), and an option in car audio sources for "Bluetooth."
4. When paired, and I choose car source: "Bluetooth," I can always play music and get my GoogleMap navigation audio directions. No problems there ever.
5. HOWEVER, sometimes when making, receiving phone calls, or, walking into phone during a phone conversation and starting car:
The phone "thinks" it is connected to the car (phone audio, media audio), the car thinks it is connected to the phone (phone audio, media audio). The phone screen with call in progress shows "bluetooth" as the audio source (versus speakerphone).
BUT THERE IS NO SOUND OVER MY CAR AUDIO, and the person on other end of call cannot hear me. The car touchscreen does not show a call in progress and stays on my XM music source.
I need to press speakerphone on my "call-in-progress" cell screen or press the Bluetooth button next to it to talk and listen normally on my phone.
The only way to get it to connect properly is to turn the cell Bluetooth completely off (pull-down screen). Count to five. Turn it back on. Then on my car touchscreen, navigate to settings, to the Bluetooth setup, and touch the "XT1650" device on the bluetooth device list to re-connect (not pair).
Once I have connected once successfully once, I may be able to turn car off, leave, come back, and have a good connection. But I think that if I am away long enough ( > 10 minutes????), I will have the same problem.

I have spent two technical calls with Verizon, doing everything they suggest, including a factory reset.
I have exchanged my new phone for another new phone to eliminate a hardware problem. No love.

Could be something specific to my car:
2014 Buick Enclave Premium with Intellilink dashboard tech (6.5 color touchscreen)
Have called via Onstar to find out there are no updates for the firmware on this car's dash system.

Hoping that folks who have this phone confirm proper operation and indicate car model/year. Especially interested in GM cars.
THX!
I have had a similar problem. I have an aftermarket radio and I stream music to my radio and I have had it show connected but would not play and sound through the radio. Try reporting this on the Moto Z forum on the Moto site

Have you tried pulling the fuse in your car for your radio? Granted, I won't get my Moto Z until tomorrow, I'm a former car installer and also have handsfree in my Ford, and every once in a while the bluetooth will go buggy where my voice commands no longer work, or like the problem you mentioned, I won't get any sound over my car speakers even though it says connected. When this happens, I usually un pair and re-pair my phone from the radio on both ends (Delete bluetooth device and re-add). If that doesn't work, I Master reset my radio (and do the aforementioned pairing). If still no success, and bugs persist, I will pull out my car's manual, find the correct fuse for my Sync radio computer, and pull the fuse. Then you startup the car, wait about 5 minutes with the car on. Turn off the car, reinsert the fuse, and then turn car back on. (WARNING, be careful when handling your car fuses, try to use something plastic or wooden to pry them out if possible.) I then re-pair my phone, and wallah its like a new system, bug free. I can't promise this will work for every car model, but it does work for quite a few. I've only had this happen one time to my own vehicle. Hope this helps. I'll test my Moto Z on my car tomorrow and see how it goes.
Good luck,
Joshua
Thx Joshua. Can't hurt to give that a try. Will attempt this evening and report back.

Phone bluetooth Moto Z Play completely inoperable
I have a Moto Z Play and it used to work flawlessly with my Honda CRV Honda HandsFreeLink connection. Could make and receive calls but that stopped working. Can stream media audio but after deleting device from car and phone I noticed that when re-pairing there isn't even the option to connect phone (only contacts and messages). Trying other speakers that support speakerphone over Bluetooth I notice that they also no longer work. I suspect a recent update FUBAR'd the Bluetooth. Anyone else experiencing issues.

I've spent a lot of time on this, and it's driving me nuts.
I've got a Verizon LG G3, stock ROM (6.0 Marshmallow), up to date.
I'm pairing it to my 2017 Honda Civic with display audio. I'm pretty sure that end isn't the issue, because it works with all other Bluetooth devices.
I can pair to the car just fine. It'll work across start/stopping the car, etc. However, any time I toggle Bluetooth on my phone (turn it off, turn it back on), the media audio sync will stop working entirely. The call audio continues to pair and work, but they won't pair with the media audio profile. The phone only shows "Call Audio" as an option in the Bluetooth settings for the car device, and the car shows that the phone only has call audio.
The only thing I've found that works is to unpair completely (both car and phone), turn off Bluetooth on the phone, go into Application Manager -> Bluetooth, and clear all data and the cache. Then I turn on Bluetooth, and can pair with my car perfectly fine until the next time I turn off Bluetooth.
Oddly enough, this worked fine for a couple of weeks - I had an app (Sony Smart Connect) that would toggle Bluetooth on when connected to power, and off when disconnected. That way, I didn't have to drain my phone battery by having BT on all the time. I've since uninstalled that app while troubleshooting, but it'd be really awesome to be able to use it again.
So, what could be causing this? Are there other troubleshooting steps I can try? I'm definitely willing to spend some time messing around. If I can't figure out anything else, my next step is to wipe and restore the phone. (Obviously, I'd like to avoid that if possible).
Any thoughts?
Has anyone else found their S9 now automatically turns shuffle on when it connects to a BT device?
I have tried a couple of different BT music devices (my truck, DAC, headphones) and every one of them automatically turns on shuffle when it starts playing music.
Example; drove to work listening to music NOT on shuffle. Get in truck for lunch or to go home and phone automatically starts playing music, but shuffle is now turned on.
I've started playing music via the speaker and made sure that shuffle is off, turned truck on, automatically connects... turns on shuffle.
I can plug in a wired device and it's fine.
Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Yes! I've also found that shuffle will come on at random times after it's connected as well. It's driving me nuts!

Great!!... I think, lol... at least it isn't just me.
I have a note 8 and have this same problem when connecting to my 2016 jeep Cherokee ( Uconnect ) radio
go into the google play music app in the app manager, delete data and cache, relaunch the app
