Not powering on after charging overnight - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Background: I've been using the tab 10.1 wifi for close to 3 months with no issues. I am rooted and started to run Task560's v10 ROM for a little over a week; again, stable with no issues. With that, here's the problem:
I left my tab 10.1 wifi to charge overnight with the tab off. In the morning, I hit the power button once, which will show that the battery is fully charged (I do this all the time as a force of habit). But this morning, that the full battery symbol didn't appear. Nothing did. I unplugged the tab from the charger and tried to power it on. The initial "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" showed, then was stuck there. I gave it some time and it just disappeared. I tried the power again, and this time nothing.
I've searched and found various ideas to power on an unresponsive device: long power hold, power hold + touch screen, power + vol down, power + vol up... Nothing. I even tried plugging the tab into the computer to see if adb can find it, and it couldn't; nor did Windows detect it was plugged in. I am now trying to charge it again. When it's plugged into the charger, the battery logo appears, but the logo does not show the charge animation, instead the only thing shown is the battery logo with a "loading" symbol... frozen. And the screen is not turning off while plugged in.
What are my options at this time? I don't think I can try for a warranty since I'm rooted and running a non-stock ROM. There isn't any way for me to unroot right now either. Please help
edit:
I charged the tab for a bit (charge logo was still frozen the entire time). The tab now will turn on to the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" screen but does nothing else. Different button combinations does nothing still, but found out power + vol up turns off the screen....

Have you already tried to get into cwm? Power+volume down, then choose recovery. After that, try to clear dalvik and cache. Fix permissions. Reboot. If that fails, try again with a factory reset in cwm.

I have. It doesnt seem to load that either

Can you get into download mode?

If I recall, that's holding power + vol up at the same time. I tried that and no, i wasn't able to. Weird thing is that doing that while I'm either stuck on the "SGT 10.1" screen or the frozen battery charging image will turn the device off.

No, that is power + vol down. Then you can choose between recovery and download mode. The device must be powered off before.

Yay, got it fixed. I forgot you have to keep vol down pressed after releasing the power button to get into CWM/Download. Restored the tab back to pre-rom flashing state and its working again. Crisis adverted
Still, I wonder what caused the tab to screw itself so badly.... =/

Glad you got it. You may hit the "Thanks" button if I helped you

[Q] Hard reset with power button

Alright, I just bought my Dad a tab 10.1 yesturday since I found a really good deal on one. My problem is that when the tab freezes the only way to get it working is to hold the power button (about 10 seconds) from what I understand is that it should soft reset the device, but in our case it's being completely reset to factory settings. So is there another way to restart the tab? (On my Xoom it's Power and Vol Up) and is there anyone else having this issue? (pretty much, is this normal behavour?)
Now I'm not afraid to root and do all the goodness that is out there as I have done that on my Xoom and my Nexus One both of which were rooted within hours of recieving them, but since this is my Dads I would prefer not to.
The Tab is running 3.1, Kernal is 2.6.36.3 and the build is HMJ37.XXKG6 P7510XXKG6
Thanks for any insights
In order to reboot it, shut it down by holding the power button for 2 seconds until it shows the pop up menu - choose Power Off. When it is off, press the power button for 2 seconds again and it will start up.
baha that's a good one. As if I didn't try that already. The issue is that it was completely unresponsive to everything except a forced reboot. Too late regardless, it was returned yesturday.

Can't get into download mode via button combination

My issue is as stated as above. I presume my phone has this feature disabled, making this phone near useless for me.
Tried having phone completely off and holding down volume down + home + power like in the videos, to no avail.
I've come from a Galaxy 3 which automatically started up download mode during the boot sequence.
Is there a way to root my phone without Odin or enter download mode with another method? Can't use "reboot download" in terminal as it's not rooted.
I haven't found any topics quite like my issue here. My phone is a international Galaxy III with label being exactly I9300. Any help is appreciated.
You could buy usb jig that will sort it iv never heard of this issue ever

Interesting, atleast there's something to fall back on if there are no other solutions.
Postage to New Zealand would be horrendous.
Please confirm it doesn't work in the following order.
- Make sure you have no case on the phone.
- Power off the phone
- Unplug it from the charger
- Remove the battery for 30 seconds
- Press and hold Volume-Down and center hardware button.
Make sure both buttons are proplery pressed, and the center button is pressed in the middle.
- Press the power button, and release it when the logo appears. Keep the other 2 buttons pressed
- Wait for it to boot
If it doesn't work, try repeating 2 times starting at the top.
If it still doesn't work something is faulty. Check if all the buttons work as expected.
Thank you very much d4fseeker, the battery out was the crucial thing I was doing wrong.
It shouldn't be necessary (and usually isn't) but I've seen on multiple occasions that Samsung phones sometimes don't react to the Download mode or Recovery mode when normally powered down.

[Solved] 5.1.1 OTA and stuck in bootloop cant access fastboot

So I had the OTA update for 5.1.1 the other day and thought "yay, let's update." it worked fine till this evening where it crashed to a power off state and in now showing the Google logo like it's about to load up and then a turned off screen.
This repeats over and over I can't even stop this loop.
Holding the power button and it just continues to loop.
Power + ANY volume button and it will show the HBOOT or fastboot menu then before I can select anything turn to the powered off state and loop through (if I'm still holding the buttons the menu will show again shortly, or go back to the Google logo)
Any ideas for a solution?
try waiting until the battery drains all the way down then hold the volume down button and plug it in. if that doesn't work then all you can do is contact google support and they'll probably replace or fix it.
Hold the power button down for 20 seconds 3 times. It helped me once with a similar situation
So I have found a solution. Instead of deleting the thread I'll leave this here unless anyone else has this problem.
It seems that trying to enter the fastboot menu when plugged into a USB seemed to work.
It was either the fact it was in the computer, the timing I pressed the "power button + power down" combo, or it had just looped enough times and decided to actually stop interrupting me using the fastboot menu.
Either way, I cleared the cache partition using the recovery and it booted up fine.
EDIT: Thanks for the help, I had tried holding the combo for a long period of time (multiple loops of the booting). I also feared letting it drain in case it refused to startup again and I would have no chance of fixing it.
glad you figured that out! android can be mysterious sometimes. especially when it's on the nexus 9.

I9300 stuck in bootloop , Cant enter Download or Recovery

Hey,
I got 2 X Galaxy S3 I9300,
and they both stuck on bootloop, I can enter download mode but after 2 sec it's bootloop again and i cant change rom,
I try to enter recovery mode and it's dont work, it's show me the samsung logo and again bootloop,
i tried to remove the battery and put it back and the phone turn on alone,
It's mean that i need to replace the power botton?
Any solution?
Thank you.
That could well be your problem, a stuck power button.
I've never once seen a galaxy s phone that gets to download mode and then reboots.
I'm fairly certain that's your problem. Get a new power button from eBay.
Meantime, if you're confident working with electronics, you could disconnect the power button and manually make the contact yourself to double check that it's the problem. But if you're not confident doing that, then just order and get a new button fitted.
Edit: Do this to check if the power button is stuck... Take battery out. Hold volume down and home only. Put battery in. If the phone goes to download mode then your power button is obviously stuck.

You'd need to check a teardown video on YouTube. I've changed power buttons on s1 and s2, but not on an s3 yet.

I replace the power button and it's works,

Poco F1 stuck on boot

Hey everyone,
Hope there are still people around in the F1 forum.
My F1 was sitting in the drawer for almost 2 years now.
I'm trying to boot it now, but it gets stuck in the process. It basically keeps going like this to infinity, i gave it hours and it's doing exactly the same thing.
As you can hopefully see in the video, when i try going to fastboot (by pressing power+volume down buttons) it shows the fastboot logo but gets stuck there.
From that point the only thing i can do is try to reboot normally again, which brings me back to the first state.
Connecting to the computer doesn't do anything.
Any ideas?
Ideally i'd like to keep the data but i'd consider anything at this point.
Many thanks!
Try to restore. Press volume up and power button when logo appear release power button but keep holding volume up until recovery has shown up

Thanks for the tip!
Actually, emptying the battery completely and then charging all the way to 100% (without trying to reboot before it reaches 100%) eventually did the trick and the phone turned on with all the data.
