[Q] Bootloop help please - HTC Rezound

Flashed nils bgs last night, flashed dsb kernel, then set up, de bloated, etc. Went to do a restart and ended up in a bootloop. PH98IMG for the kernel is still on the root of the sd card, so it keeps trying to update it. When I choose no to the update, it just restarts and continues the boot loop. How can I get back into recovery to attempt to fix this issue?

Can you take the sd card out then boot into recovery then put it back in to flash a backup?

If I were to take it out, could I put it into my incredible, remove the PH98IMG, then put it back in? Didn't think of that until you mentioned removing it.
EDIT: Why yes I can!

Bricked???

I have loaded this radio then I booted into recovery and tried to install Das BAMF Sense 3.0 RC4.9 from zip and the download starts then about halfway though it goes back to the bootloader screen with the android guys skateboarding. It has fastboot highlighted with the only options being bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, and power down. I have tried to reboot, boot back into recovery and restore but it keeps going back to this screen...any idea's??

Well, if you can get into the bootloader you are not bricked. Go to Jcase's stock recovery thread and get the rooted stock PG5... to load in hboot. It will essentially get you back to rooted Froyo and then you can reflash the recovery and whatever rom you want.
Or I believe you can rename a ROM to PG5... and flash it in recovery as well, although I've never tried that method.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I've never heard of anyone flashing a rom through hboot by renaming it to pg05img or whatever it is. I wouldn't try that without evidence of out working

I have. I've just never tried it. It's not something I've ever had to do.
I still would advise caution though.

I've tried it and it works! Be careful, I would recommend using the stock rooted PC05img that was in the first post, it usually works, you just have to noodle with the 4g settings after.
thanks guys, I am a happy camper. I am loading the stock rom as we speak....Man I lost sleep and could not work.

P.S. @ sOOpasold3r, if you want to wait until about 10pm EST, I can send you the exact radio that will work and it will bring everything in to working order for you.

Good luck. Rooted stock usually does the trick. Just be sure to name it correctly. I always screw that part up, lol.

ok chris, I think I have the MR2 Radio on my phone's SD card, if I do, I'll email it earlier.

[SOLVED]stuck at splash screen, weird situation.

hey guys im kinda in some desperate need for help lol. so i had twrp 1.1.1 installed, but i wanted to go to 2.1 and try it out. i successfully flashed 2.1 and booted back into system. i wanted to flash leedroid tweaks so i booted back into 2.1 recovery and flashed it. it went through but i cannot get past the splash screen. i tried to boot into recovery through fastboot to make some changes, but i cannot get throuh because i still have that zip on my sdcard and it asks me to apply the update every time. im not sure what to do at this point...anyone have some help they can give me?
Another reason why twrp sucks.
Just do a full wipe and reflash the Rom you were currently on.

PG86IMG.zip is the file you speak of and no...youll know if you install that bc of the screens that load up
finally got it. i couldnt access anything because my phone couldnt get to recovery. i ended up having to go and buy a sd card with an adapter to manually move the files around. i had to go back to twrp 1.1.1 through bootloader and then reflashing a rom. what a mess. but its all good.

damn all you had to do was pull the sd card, boot to bootloader, take the back off, pull battery, put sd in, put battery back, and unplug. Glad you got it figured out though, I just wish I got here sooner.

Lmao that sucks did you have another phone layin around with a usb cord for it.
it seems I have the worst of what the gentlemen has.Actually I have been stuck at the splash screen for
more then and 30min each time before the boot loop.I have had it unlocked in managed to install sos m rom but never was able to boot into it so I tried mean roms same issue.I then re locked ,installed the
htc dev stock rom still stuck at boot screen, now have unlocked again and still stuck
at boot screen following your immediate method no results any help is greatly appreciated
hboot 1.5 S-on unlocked
cwm-4.0.1.4-shooter.img
I'm having the same problem. I figured out by holding down the power button for 20 seconds when its stuck in the splash screen it will bypass the issue. If that doesn't work pull the battery out and put it back in. Hold down the power button down 20 seconds while it attempts to boot.... hopefully that will get it to boot into what ever Rom you previously flashed. I have flashed, several differant roms, done super wipes, modified wipes, flashed differant recoveries, updated the radio, and I'm still having issues where I get stuck in the splash screen or I have issues where I can't boot into recovery (its a hit or miss after a couple of different approaches)
This all happened after I went from ICS back to GB (mean rom)

My friend's phone tried to pull an OTA while he had CWM recovery installed, and it started boot looping. Had to download the stock recovery, name is PG05IMG.zip in the root of the SDCard, and force the phone to boot to the bootloader and install it. Once it did, the phone started up, rebooted itself, and installed the OTA fine. Sounds like yours may be trying to do something similar?
If so rooted phones need caches cleared for the ota to work.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
From my understanding, Rooted can still take OTA, but you have to have stock recovery to do it (as I witnessed earlier). You will lose root, and will have to re-flash recovery to TWRP, CWMR, or whatever your normal choice is, and then re-apply the su.zip, but otherwise easy as pie.

Stock recovery PG05IMG.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61129367/PG05IMG-Stock-Recovery.zip
Hello, first of all I would like to thank everyone who has posted in this thread to try and help out. I just started having a very similar problem- I'm rooted and running stock, but apparently my phone accepted an OTA and I'm stuck in a bootloop as well.
I got into CWM recovery and downloaded the stock recovery PG05IMG.zip, but it won't install. It just aborts every time I try to install it. I'm a noob at this stuff and not very good at dealing with these sorts of things and I've been having a panic attack for the past hour, so if anyone could help me as soon as possible I would really appreciate it.
I'm really scared of making things worse than they already are. I just want a working phone.

pull battery, wait a minute, turn on phone
when in bootloader screen,
volume down, select reboot
back to white screen, select recovery ( i had to do this twice)
hold volume up and power when black screen appears
choose the bottom option (wipe cache i believe)
choose reboot
phone should be good aftter this
( idont own a thunderbolt, but i had to fix this for a nother phone, called tech support and this worked)
hope this helps - hopefully saves someone from ruu'ing and wiping their phone

The zip won't work in CWM because it's not designed for use with CWM. It's designed for use in Fastboot. Should be on the root of your sd card. From off, if I'm correct (like this with other HTC devices), hold volume down and power to boot into fastboot. This will allow it to flash the stock recovery.

Right. I also have a recovery zip that installs the stock recovery if anyone wants it?
It can be found here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61129367/OTARestoreAndRecovery.zip
(warning: I have tested it and it works but it did cause me a bootloop, and im assuming this is becuase im on a different rom - - - so not responsible for any damages)

I can't get into the internal memory and I don't see anything call ph file with I look with a memory card reader.
If your on ics firmware you need to flash the sd card fix for gb. As far as reboots haven't seen that going back to gb usually other way around. Are you s-off ? Just s-off , much easier to go back and forth.

Have you tried doing a battery pull sthen trying to do the Power + Vol Down? You likely have fastboot checked still.

Pull your SD card out and either put it into another phone you can access or a card reader. Delete the PH98IMG.zip file. Put it back into your phone and it will most likely allow you to boot into Recovery.
Good luck!

[Q] I have a boot loop question

Hi guys, I've been ripping my hair out trying to figure this out. I've been at it literally all day. I am trying to install the ZR3D ROM on my phone, and I'm using 4ext, and it gets as far as the wallpaper screen, and then bam. Reboots itself. I've wiped it clean using "format all partitions except SD card", loaded the ROM, went to the boot loader, and flashed boot.img, but it still keeps getting stuck in an loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I take it since your flashing boot img from fastboot your s-on correct? Are you flashing the stock kernel that came with the Rom or a custom? Try flashing a different kernel with smart flash enabled in 4ext. If that don't work it could be the Rom. If that's the case try flashing a different one. If I may make a Rom suggestion try the common sense v1.7. Let me know how it goes.

Boot loops are not boot.img related issues.
Firstly, ensure that you have the right firmware / hboot version for whatever combination of rom & kernel that you're using.
Verify the MD5sum for the zip before flashing.
If you experience force closes, then wipe & reflash.
So a kernel cannot cause a boot loop? Hmmmm
Thanks I reloaded a different rom and it worked fine.
