Hi
Vodafone NZ has released Samsung Galaxy S2 but i am not able to find anywhere what their firmware version is. Since i am in NZ i was hoping maybe their CSC and radio would be better .
Anyone has any ideas on how to find it or get it.

why do you want to stay on GB? we already have have official ICS and unofficial JB..

Also, what's the nearest kernel i can use? I was told that i can not just upgrade it to another version, and that's confusing me. Thanks in advance again guys... :good:

What do you mean by nearest version?
And you can very well upgrade to any version you like 4.0 or even 4.1 and also revert back if you are not happy...
The process is same for any version you want to upgrade to...

there is nothing lyk a nearest version
u wud wanna go to samfirmware.com and check it
select ur phone model and ut country and u will see all firmware available so pick the 1 u want

Now, if i want to upgrade it, i'll use PDA: I9100DXLP7 and CSC: I9100OLBLP7 which is from our region. Can you advise me on this? Thanks in advance...

u can upgrade to any ics 4.0.3
and check
u can also revert back to ur country rom wen u want
so select any rom and flash ...

A friend of mine wants me to downgrade his I9100 (4.0.4).
Currently it says:
PDA: I9100XWLPW
PHONE: I9100XXLQ6
CSC: I9100DBTLPI
Build number: IMM76D.XWLPW
It is a German DBT phone.
He would like to downgrade to 4.0.3, but I don't know which firmware to take.
I found PDA:I9100XWLPI CSC:I9100DBTLP6
and PDA:I9100XWLP7 CSC:I9100DBTLP5
Does it matter which one I take?
If not, what's the difference?

XWLPI is more recent that XWLP7 so it should be more stable.

i want to know from which region it belongs.
FM Radio is showing only USA & Europe region & i am in Pakistan.
and i want to update it to ICS 4.0.4 samsung official firmware by using KIES but KIES Shows your current firmware does not support software upgrading via kies.
