First of all, thanks for taking the time to help me with my minor issue.
Recently i used Check Fus and Odin 3 v1.85 to restore my GT-i9100 to stock.
This worked appart from a minor issue i am having with Samsung Kies 2.0
In my phone, my kernel version returned to [email protected]#2 (what is was before i rooted)
The baseband version is:I9100BOKD1
But the problem is, when i connect to KIES and i look at the firmware tab, it is showing complications.
This is what it says:
This device can not be updated.
Firmware Version: PDA: KE3 PHONE: KD1 CSC: KE3(kor)
Did i do something wrong?
Kies only updates if their is a later version on the server for your product code .

So does that mean that the firmware listed in kies PDA: KE3 PHONE: KD1 CSC: KE3(kor) is the latest?
this is what i entered in Check Fus:
Product Code: GT-I9100HKDTNL
PDA: I9100BOKE3
CSC: I9100TNLKE3
Phone: I9100BOKD1
(Or am i because of my limited experience, seeing a problem where there is none? )

KE7 latest for that info .
Not on Kies well probably due to no longer having the firmware the phone came with and codes match nothing on Kies server .
Kies updates original firmware . Stock firmware upgrade from Kies Never happened for me and as far as i am aware its not meant to . But some say it will .

You used wrong product code. It should be GT-I9100LKATNL and that is the latest firmware for that region.
Hey guys,
For some reason, Kies isn't letting me update.
It says: "This version of this device cannot be updated"
Do you know why this is happening?
These are my specs:
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9100XXKE4
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100ZSKF4-CL280225
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.ZSKF4
My CSC is in (KOR) format, and I'm trying to upgrade my firmware from ZSKF4 to ZSKI3, which is an upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5, anyone know what the problem is?

I currently don't have a plan on updating to ICS right now, version 2.3.6 will do best for me. Can you also send me the link, thanks in advance guys!

Wifi must on when you select system update app

why do you want to stay on GB? we already have have official ICS and unofficial JB..

Also, what's the nearest kernel i can use? I was told that i can not just upgrade it to another version, and that's confusing me. Thanks in advance again guys... :good:

What do you mean by nearest version?
And you can very well upgrade to any version you like 4.0 or even 4.1 and also revert back if you are not happy...
The process is same for any version you want to upgrade to...

there is nothing lyk a nearest version
u wud wanna go to samfirmware.com and check it
select ur phone model and ut country and u will see all firmware available so pick the 1 u want

Based from my phone info below, can i upgrade it to ICS PDA: I9100DXLP7 and CSC: I9100OLBLP7 from another country. I think XW is not from our region that's why i can't upgrade it via KIES. Now, if i want to upgrade it, i'll use PDA: I9100DXLP7 and CSC: I9100OLBLP7 which is from our region. Can you advise me on this? Thanks in advance...

u can upgrade to any ics 4.0.3
and check
u can also revert back to ur country rom wen u want
so select any rom and flash ...

So, my Samsung i9100 arrived this week from NewEgg.com. I was surprised it came installed with Adroid Version 4.0.3. Then I read that Samsung recently released 4.0.4 so I installed Kies, hoping to upgrade to 4.0.4.
In Kies, under Firmware Information, I see the following:
This is the latest firmware.
Current firmware version: PDA:LPE / PHONE:LPE / CSC:LPE(TTT)
Latest firmware version: PDA:LPE / PHONE:LPE / CSC:LPE(TTT)
I read that the firmware version can also be obtained by opening the dial pad and typing *#1234# So I did that and found this:
PDA: I9100UHLPE
PHONE: I9100UHLPE
CSC: I9100UUBLPE
Build Info: Fri Mar 9 13:49:34 KST 2012
Now I am confused:
1.) Did my phone arrive from NewEgg with an official Samsung Android version?
2.) Why is Kies not displaying the firmware version and how can I fix it?
3.) Assuming I get Kies fixed, lets say I want to wipe my phone, start from scratch, and install the official Samsung version of 4.0.4 Is that possible and how?
4.) Any other recommendations?
