[Q] My phone doesn't get signal - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi people.
I've got a new Xperia X10 'cause my old one passed away. A shop SIM unlocked it and it seemed to work. It was on 2.1, so first of all I've updated it through SEUS. Then I turned on the phone, it asked for the PIN, and after that, blue wallpaper with status bar and anything else. If I take off the SIM card and turn it on again, it works, I can use apps, use wifi, etc, but if I turn it on with the SIM card, it just asks for the PIN and show the blue wallpaper...
Then I flashed back and forward from 2.1 to 2.3.3, rooted it without the SIM card, installed MiUI... In MiUI (latest from cobrato and latest from oodie) with the SIM card it works but it never got signal.
I'll probably call to Vodafone tomorrow and ask for a replacement, but I would like to know first if there's a way to fix it...
So a little briefing:
With 2.1 and SIM card it doesn't show anything on the screen, just the wallpaper and the status bar
With 2.1 without SIM card it works
With 2.3.3 and SIM card it doesn't show anything, just the wallpaper and the status bar
With 2.3.3 without SIM card it works
With two different MiUIs, it works with SIM card but it doesn't get signal
Thanks in advance!

Unlocking the phone how to...

Guys quick question for you about unlocking Atrix. I have never done it before and I heard that some people had issues with wifi after so I would like to ask couple of questions.
- when I have the unlock code and I'm entering it do I need to have sim card in the phone?
- does the sim card have to be working one?
- should I have wifi on or off?
Thanks for your time.
- Yes. You have to have the sim card in the phone.
- The sim card does not have to be working. As long as it is not from the phone carrier.
- Once you put the simcard in, it wont let you get past it unless you enter the unlock. Then you can either turn on or off the wifi.

[Q] after screen replace, phone doesn't recognize sim

replaced broken screen, phone works but doesn't recognize sim card, but there are signal bars displayed! I once installed a rom that caused phone not to recognize sim card, but there were no signal bars displayed that time.
did you try flashing another modem?

[Help]Phone Not Allowed MM#6

Hi Guys,
My friend has asked me for some help with his x10i.
He's purchased it from a market, and it was locked to T-mobile.
Its since been network unlocked by a local store, in theory to allow use of any network sim card.
However when you boot the phone with a sim card in, it comes up on the notification bar
"Phone Not Allowed MM#6"
It will show the little signal bar full.
Checking phone status it shows
Service state - In service
Mobile Network State Disconnected.
It appears to register onto a network, be that orange o2 ect.
But we are unable to make outbound calls, receive calls.
Yet browsing via gprs is working.
I have checked the IMEI with the T mobile. They advised that the phone is clean and not barred.
I have Tried different Sim cards i know are working.
I have Flashed the Firmware back to Stock, Tried the Latest Firm and a few other different combinations.
I am now Stuck.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

remove something in the status bar of marshmallow

Hi Folks,
Any idea on how to get rid of the encircled icon? Or at least, what is the name of this icon to help me search more. I don't have a second SIM card and I really didn't want to get a dual SIM handset but in my region only the dual SIM model is offered. So I've got this dual SIM phone with a single SIM card and the now none-sense icon.
Thanks in advance.
Since I could not figure out how to send a picture, I will explain. I have inserted a single SIM card in a dual SIM handset. Fortunately the phone is not showing any icons pertaining to the absent SIM card 2. But still it shows a SIM card icon with "1" in it designating that SIM card 1 is present. This is none-sense to me and I would like it to go. I want directions for doing this. I searched, but found nothing and even have no idea what this icon may be called to do some further search.
I'm using Marshmallow.
Thanks.

SAMSUNG PIE: SIM card detected and enabled but cannnot find/connect to mobie network

Hi,
I purchased a USED Galaxy A7 2018 dual sim F variant. When I first inserted my SIM card, it was working fine. 4G and calls, all were working.
But after I factory resat it, mobile network stopped working or even detecting. SIM card is still detected and I can see it in "connections" under SIM cards in settings app on my phone. But when I try to dial a number it says "not registered on network". On lock screen, it says emergency calls only. When I go to "mobile networks" in settings app and tap to select network automatically or manually, it gives error that unable to find/connect to a network.
I tried three different sim cards yet same thing happens. SIM cards work just fine in other phones. Also, it is not a problem with sim tray on phone as sim card is detected and shown and as I said before, mobile network was working fine before resetting the phone.
When I purchased it, there was a custom ROM installed on it and OEM Unlocking was ON. I installed latest stock ROM from Samsung plus a couple of stock ROMS but same thing happens with every ROM.
I am out of ideas on what should I do now. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanks.
Finally found a solution.
