[Q] What if... - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

there was a new version of the dock which has GPS and WifI(5.0ghz) integrated in itself..wouldn't that solve some issue with TP?

And if Grandma had wheels she'd be a streetcar.
Bye.

ROM Upgrade

My wife has a Sprint Mogul from her office. What "GPS" functionality does the new HTC ROM add to her stock device?
From the HTC website, it states:
"Adds advanced GPS functionality including the software for Sprint Navigation."
She would most likely be using Googlemaps or iGuidance on her device.
I know my Tilt has a built in GPS, and I can use any GPS software I install on it. Does it add this functionality to her Mogul?
Thanks!

For real? (seriously) Because that's the one thing we thought her phone was missing in functionality.
I use sprint Navigation by Telenav on my mogul (comes with the leaked 3.16 rom) Im sure its in the new rom as well and I use it all the time and it works awesome. you can put what ever gps on it you want to.

Do you mean you can use what ever GPS software using an internal GPS (like the tilt)? or do you mean I have to pair it with an external bluetooth GPS?
Sorry about the questions, just trying to make sure I understand what functionality is added.

I can confirm that the New Sprint ROM and Titan internal GPS has excellent functionality (much much better than the 3.16 leak)..I like live search myself and can center on GPS in as little as 5 seconds.

FM Radio on Hero - is it possible?

Hi,
I read over on MacRumours.com that Apple are developing an FM Radio app for their iPhone.
Could such a thing be done on the HERO - or is it a hardware issue?
cheers
There's an FM radio app on the click/tattoo, so i suppose it's possible. But how the heck do i extract it from the device?

Apparently, more recent iPhones and iPod's have had an FM receiver/transmitter in them for some time now, but it was only being used to support Nike+ on iPods. Since the hardware is there, releasing an app to take advantage of it is going to be pretty easy to do.
I doubt that Hero has an FM hardware in it, but if it does the same should be theoretically possible.

Dave

received it on my ns4g but yet on my evo 3d.
not really excited to receive it as i've seen quite a few issues with it on other devices from a developer's perspective. i remember reading the market has a silent update feature which allows it to automatically upgrade itself.
also, i'm sure you could grab the apk from another device, many of which ive seen posted online and use that to manually upgrade.
hope that helps!
3.1.5???

I am not sure if this is the one you are talking about, but I have build 3.1.5 that I got with a new ROM and I don't care much for it, mostly because it is slow and hangs up a lot. I have to FC it and relaunch to get it to work. I hope this is not the newest one, but it looks different from the one I had before.

[Q] GPS Not working CM 10.2 i9300

This is quite urgent so I'd appreaciate your help..
I installed CM 10.2 on my i9300 international S3, I thought the GPS was working in the beginning but it was just the Wi-Fi signal GPS.. So it appears my GPS isn't working, what can I do? Is it fixable or do I have to change ROMs? I really need my GPS for tomorrow.

I didn't find what you're talking about if it's software, if you're talking literally about using a screw driver or something of the sort I'd rather not.
I moved to SlimKat and my GPS works there.

Sorry me... I had problems with my gps and in my case wasn't related with software... i9300 have a design problem and a screw get loose with time, so it's neces
sary to tight it... Upper left when you remove the battery cover. In some cases you will have faster and more accurate positioning

No the GPS does not work this time. It has been confirmed by Sony that they will be releasing the phone without a working GPS.
Hope that helps.

They will release the xperia 1 without a working GPS ? So they cut a lot a very useful and important function.
I use GPS a lot.

Here is a link to gpstest, in my opinion the best app for seeing how your gps works, when xperia 1 is out. GPSTEST is open source and free.
You get it via f-droid or playstore.
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.android.gpstest.osmdroid/
gps
Anyone tested which positioning systems are supported, because some sites say Galilei and others are supported, other sites say only gps and glonass is supported.

Thank you for your screenshot. And it's answering my question. It's clearly showing that the Galileo system is supported on the xperia 1.
Would you mind to put a second screenshot here (gpstest, not sky view, but the status view)?
Status view for knowing if dual-frequency GNSS is supported by the xperia 1.

Thank you again for the second screenshot (and so fast). Sad to see that the xperia1 doesn't support dual-frequency GNSS.
As far as I understand it should be possible to have dual-frequency GNSS with the hardware of the xperia1.
It seems that Sony has to do something on the software side to get dual-frequency GNSS working on the xperia1.
I've never had any GPS problems with my Sony Ericsson/Mobile phones. And the GPS works fine on my Xperia 1.
Well lyou guys were so lucky .?
