Just updated my Prime to ICS, and everything was jaw-dropping. Great improvements. But then i get a diagonal flickering on the screen every once and a while. Anyone else experiencing this?
I am too. it' a little more than once in a while for me. it's more like 3-4 times a minute! Annoying to say the least!
nothing here guys LOL

that sucks. try a factory reset.
No dice. Same thing happens. Looks like it's intermittent too, like it'll boot okay then flicker. Then occasionally it'll show other nonsense in the framebuffer too.
Wow! Am I glad I haven't got the update yet. Sorry to hear about it guys.

Wow, I had it much worse than that, I had a thousand color lines across my screen and could only see a sliver of the home screen. Reboot corrects it, hopefully it is just a one-off thing since I haven't rebooted since the install.

Well it's more than likely software related since it wasn't happening before. Did you have asp locker enabled by chance? Wonder what the common denominator is.
Sorry I made a thread about this before I saw this one. I'm getting it to, even after a factory reset and reboots.

Literally took it outta the box like an hour before. Essentially stock. I hadn't even opened the browser.
I'm hoping it's software and isn't a case of the update frying the GPU somehow...

Same issue here after ICS upgrade. Never got that before...
Bump, is no one else experiencing this?
I just upgraded to ICS. The flickering lines as previously pictured are also happening to me. Super annoying.
wow, things just keep getting better and better for the TF201
Oh wow!!
This is just ridiculous!!! I was considering giving the OG ATP another chance if I could find a unit free of defetcs. But between this problem with ICS/OG ATP and the better value 250.00USD 7" ATP, I think I'll pass.
These problems are gonna kill the ATP's resale value, and to me that is most important in the world of evolving tablets.
I shut my down and left it charging over night. I've been using if for like 15 mins so far this morning and it seems fine now. I hope it stays this way...

I believe that means your battery is overheating. I think it happened to me on my og EVO once. I set my phone down turned it off came back later and it was all better!

Yeah..pretty common with some evo3d's..the battery isnt making good contact on the points..just put a little piece of cardboard or something between battery and the inner rim of the phone to help push the battery into the gold points of the phone..I had this problem and never seen it again after doing this.

LMAO go talk to Sprint and get a new phone. These so called "fixes" are the reason why manufacturers don't give a **** about quality products anymore, too many people settle with broken ****.
Oh and by the way, let's say his battery is overheating and he takes your advice; cardboard/paper catches fire... And he now has no phone.

pretty sure he can tell if his phone is over heating if he really wanted to..the cardboard is no where near where the battery connects to the points. So if it magically catches fire then I guess you would be right..As for the manufactures not caring about quality control sure I get your point. But thats not the point of the thread. He asked why its happining and there are only 2 ways it has ever happend to me.Over heating and/or battery not making good contact..Just offered a simple "fix" for the moment. If it doesn't fly with him then he can go waste his time getting a replacement that may very well do the same thing.
What kernel are you using? That can have an affect on it too

According to another thread, this phenomenon is known as "randomly sausage". (I really hope I'm not the only one that understands this)
Hello,
Of a similar bent, multiple times since I had a Refurbished 3D sent to me, the Battery has drained to zero whilst being plugged in to the Charger. This has primarily occurred when plugged into the Wall as opposed to say my Laptop. It happened again this Morning.
When I insert a different Battery, it seems to fix the problem and the 3D Charges as usual. However, this is one damn annoying issue.
Cheers,
JJ
Anyones prime feel slower after last update? Mines has def slowed down, even getting lag on shadowgun. I never had that. But it feels super laggy now even on the home screen.

Actually, mine feels faster on .33. Now, ask me about battery life in use, and I'd say it's worse.
Yep I have to agree.Even Opera mobile seems sluggish at times & even fc's sometimes too.Switching through home screens doesn't even respond every now & then but rarely.Bring on ICS & let's never look back at anything running Honeycomb again lol.

mine seems to be slower on this last update too. I agree with getting ics out NOW!
My performance and battery seem better after update. especially touch response also. maybe people just trying to pay to close to lil things or manifesting these things. Also you have to remember, alot of times the most recent apps you download could be causing issues or excessive battery drain. look what you have rubbing in the background. kill it if its something not needed. Most of the time its something in background running that you don't realize and its using up unneccessary resources or battery.

regardless of whether mine seems faster or yours slower, We Need ICS asap. that's when the real fun begins. Prime was made for ICS. Not HC which was slapped on at the last minute. only a few more days to go.
Hi all, just got the Note the yesterday and while playing around with it noticed that on Netflix viewing the button lights don't go off, ever.

1) Wow, those buttons seem really bright on the white Notes
2) Based on my past Samsung devices, altering the capacitive buttons behavior must be baked into the Kernel. So it will take some custom development to get Back Light Dimmer functionality exposed.
yeah the buttons are overly bright on the white version. seems like a bit of the screen backlight shows through. very annoying when watching in the dark, not so noticeable during the day or in a lighted room.
might have to break out so black tape when in the dark if this is how it's always going to be

I think it has something to do with the "keep screen on" setting in these applications.
Tape? Yikes, not me! I cover them with my thumb. Get deep enough into a movie and they don't bother you so much

Hey guys so I posted about this problem awhile ago and someone suggested that it might be a loose connection or something. However I don't think this is the case as if I load splashtop THD up
the picture is perfect, at least the parts that arent android, I still get some lines through the right hand scroll bar and what not, but the rest of the screen works fine. This to me makes me think its a software issue on my prime, not a hardware.
Also I was reading a thread about screen tearing (thinking this might be something similar) and someone said if it appears in a screen shot on the prime then its probably fixable through software, and if it didn't then it most likely wasn't and the image below is a screen shot.
Basically I really don't want to RMA my prime, so I'm looking for guidance on whether or not I'm going to have to.
Rebooting my TFP fixes it.
The picture below shows a bug.
Rarely, but sometimes my prime does this, usually randomly (and usually, at least I think, after I press the power button and bring the prime out of standby mode)

It really does look like a lose connection to me too. Have you tried opening it and checking the lcd ribbon cable? Wiggle the cable and see if you can replicate it. I know its intermittent but worth a try before you send it in. If you feel its software then reflash Honey Comb, hard reset, then let it do another OTA ics update. Also did you install any RGB or screen calibration app?

Link to where i found it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453951&highlight=asus+battery
also if it was a lose connection it would still have lines across the screen when I was using splashtop, however when I load up splash top the problem stops, if I exit splashtop the bug carries on, so my theory is if it was hardware it would always have the black lines on it regardless of splashtop or not. really though I have no idea and I am just posting here to see if my theories makes sense or not, I'm looking from advice from someone that really knows this stuff (unlike me)

Really ??
Dont advise people to open their prime and void the warranty.
If you did send it in after opening it up, chances are they would be able to tell and then refuse any warranty fix or replacement.
Have you turned on Forge GPU rendering in Developer options ?
Just trying to bring that thread back to its initial question:
I have the exact same problem (horizontal bands when bringing it back from hibernation). Any news on this issue? Any advice?
Hi people, I have an EVO 3D and it has input lag. If I slide my finger at a certain speed, things won't keep up. Similar to the issue the original EVO had. Could this be a hardware or software problem? I'm rooted and running CM9 but the problem exists with like every rom I've tried. Is there anyone else with a 3D experiencing this?

Dont think that this is the solution to the problem i mean its an htc evo 3d this phone should ****ing recognize what you want it to do otherwise you shouldnt have had to spend that amount of money
its simple rediculous if it wouldnt work
Thanks for the replies. I'm not having an issue with keyboard input though. It's when sliding your finger, like when pulling the notification bar down. It doesn't keep up with my finger unless I move my finger slowly. This is like my 4th android and I may have never had an issue like this with the previous phones. I noticed after getting this phone and having more time with it. Still usable, can be kinda aggravating though I guess.

Then head to the htc store and let them check wether there is any dust below the touch and between the glass i told u i read an atricle about it and they said that the one or other htc phone might face that problem
so if we cant exclude this possibiliy we cant go on troubleshooting so please check it out
