Press 1 to answer calls.... - HTC EVO 3D

Is this a Google voice issue? No matter which rom I use I now have to press 1 to answer calls and it is irritating .....I am yet to find a setting to shut that off....
Also, I wish GV didn't receive texts either....
If GV is the issue does anyone have an older version of it?
Thanks

this isnt a google voice problem and did you "disable" it or "unintegrate" it?
Step 1 - Set your mom's voicemail back to Carrier (If Sprint, the code is her 10 digit phone number).
Step 2 - Go to Settings -> Update profile and allow it to reload her profile.
Step 3 - Restart her phone.
If this fails, you should call *2 and request that a reset be sent to the phone.
I went from a 3.5 rom to a 3.0 because sprint wanted me to access the "system update" screen. When i first booted, before i added a google account, i was able to call her. Added her google account, then i couldnt call her. Seems like a google problem to me. What im thinking of doing is taking her blackberry to sprint and having the numbers put into a dif google account.
Call Sprint to reprovision your phone.

I would try first what this member is suggesting, there are codes availabe to disable GV voice mail, I believe is *72 or something, you can go to the GV help in the website for more info.
Now, if after unlinking the account to GV you still get the same reaction then go to sprint for help.
Question does your mother and you have different carries, e.g.: Sprint & Verizon?

Google Voice issues

Has anyone else tried to set up google voice for the default voicemail only to receive an error message. It seems att has blocked the changing of voicemail services.

Same here. I couldn't get it to work as well.
I had the same problem, but uninstalling Google voice and installing it again let it go through.

I didnt know if I got a bad phone with a bad flast or how many other people are having problems. It seems that the preorders were a bad batch for the most part. Some arrived DOA, battery covers broke, bricked on arrival. Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue.ANYONE having problems with quadrand FC'ing all the time?
I had a similar issue, but I was able to get around it.
Try going into Google Voice on the web and hit the "activate voicemail" link. It'll give you a number/code to dial in the dialer on your phone. After I did that, GV on the phone was able to set up voicemail correctly, iirc.

Yup. Had to do the same thing. Worked like a charm though.

Thanks that worked.
Still doesn't work for me. Tried uninstalling and re-installing GV and also using the deactivate/activate link on the GV website and I'm still getting the error. This is frustrating.
Just go in and manually change it yourself in the phone settings, under the forwarding options. There are 4 options, leave the first one disabled (forward all calls). For the other 3, change them all to your Google voice number (for ex., 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx) and you will be good.
Anybody has any idea why auto-configuration in GV does not work?

I'm almost positive it is AT&T wanting you to use their (nonexistant) Visual Voicemail app. My Skyrocket did the same exact thing. International GSII on ICS even worked fine.
I had the same issue. Make sure it says ATT in carrier when you log into google voice. If it doesn't redetect it. Mine still showed Sprint for 48 hours before it detected I was actually on ATT.
Also entered the codes as mentioned on this site:
http://kalsey.com/2010/10/using_google_voice_as_your_voicemail_on_att/
The important part to save you a click through:
"Second, open up your phone’s dialer and dial the following, replacing 1234567890 with your new Google Voice phone number…
*61*1234567890# (then hit send)
*62*1234567890# (then hit send)
*67*1234567890# (then hit send)
You should see a message appear on your phone after each time you press send. This will set up your AT&T account to take all calls when the phone is busy, when you decline a call, or when your phone is turned off or out of range and forward the call to your Google Voice number."
After doing the above I was able to change Carrier in settings to Google Voice without any problem.

You guys are simply amazing. Had this problem which I suspect is because of the SIM change. I had no problems switching from my Captivate to Atrix.

MIUI ROM v2.1.67 incoming call acceptance?

Hey guys, so I'm obviously running MIUI on my 3D but everytime I receive a call and I slide down to answer, a voice pops up and asks me to press 1 if I want to receive the call? How can I set this up right, I'm pretty sure it's a setting but I can't find it! Thanks
Are you using google voice?

I installed it and unistalled because it kept sending me emails and all that junk. Could that be the problem even if it's not installed?
When I had that issue it was because I integrated my phone number with google voice. I fixed it by going back through the settings and choosing not to use google voice to make any phone calls.

Removing google voice association with the phone number is one way to resolve the issue.
If you're interested in keeping google voice but dislike the requirement of pressing 1 every time to accept the call, the feature is labeled as Call Screening and is available under the Settings -> Calls section on the web site: http://www.google.com/voice.
If you receive a lot of legit phone calls, this setting would probably get frustrating quickly. If you receive a lot of spam calls, this setting is very handy as you can send it to voicemail and listen if they leave a message.
Hope that helps!

[Q] Incoming Call Announcement

When I get an incoming call and try to answer, I get a voice anouncement about the call have have to press "1" to accept. I want to turn this anoucement off. I've looked at just about every setting I can think of and don't see where I can get rid of this setting. Very annoying.
Any clue as to where this is set so I can turn it off?
Thanks

Do you use Google Voice? My guess is you do. Because I'm not aware of Sprint having an option like this.
If you do use Google Voice, Log onto Google Voice from a computer, go to settings, then to Calls, then check 'off' for call screening.
It is Google voice. You to go online and adjust your settings or un-install, restall and don't allow it to integrate with your Sprint services.

That was it. BIG THANKS!!! Funny but that seeting must have been in place for a couple of years now. I just switch from the original Evo 4g to the 4g LTE last week when this started happeneing. Didn't do anything to Google Voice settings.

Google Voice

Anyone successful at activating Google Voice to manage your voicemails on the S8+? I'm coming from a Nexus device where it worked flawelessly. I guess Sprint has disabled the ability to use GV because they want you to use their voicemail app.
I have tried the steps on this page but voicemails still go to the stock app.

Might be able to get it working once we have root and can freeze the voicemail app. I wasn't able to answer phone calls with call forwarding to gv tho, so that will might be an issue.

I used this, and Google Voice is working for me. *73 is the key. *28 no longer works for it like GV mistakenly still states in the setup.
I came from Verizon Note 5 and switched to the Sprint S8+, and could not figure it out until I found the above.
Do you have the google voice app installed? I've tried this every which way I can find and it still reverts to Sprint voicemail.
I don't remember where i copied this from awhile ago but, it has always worked for me as long as google voice is installed and set up.
To activate Missed Call Forwarding:
Enter *73
Enter the 10-digit phone number to forward the calls to (google voice number here)
example =
*73XXXXXXXXXX
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is activated
To deactivate No Answer Call Forwarding:
Enter *730
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is deactivated
Busy - forwards calls to an alternate number when your line is busy
To activate Busy Call Forwarding:
Enter *74
Enter the 10-digit phone number to forward the calls to (google voice number here)
example =
*74XXXXXXXXXX
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is activated
To deactivate Busy Call Forwarding:
Enter *740
Press Talk
Listen for the alert tones that tell you Call Forwarding is deactivated

That's strange, I'm on Sprint and the *28xxxxxxxxxx, worked for me perfectly. I may try busy *74 number, but as for me all my voicemails are being forwarded to Google Voice and the Google Voice app is notifying me accordingly.

If you are asking me, notifications are enabled in the Voice app and I even have Lightflow set up with a custom led notification.

Had to call Sprint and have them remove WiFi calling from my account in order to get GV integration working (where when I make an outgoing call from my phone, my GV voice number is shown instead of my cell number). Now, trying to make a WiFi call, I get this message:
https://goo.gl/photos/ZUHzjq6uWbSrQy4k6
I'm afraid to move forward from this screen because GV integration is important for me... but so is WiFi calling. I was able to do both on my Note 4, which is what I was using before getting the S8+. Wonder why it can't do both now?
I can't see the pic. What does the message say?
I am only using GV for voicemail. I'm not planning on going fully integrated so I have no input on that.
I had to disable Wi-Fi calling to finally get GV voicemail to work.
I believe Sprint do not support both service, GV and Wifi-Calling, you either use one or the other, the only phone so far that i know for sprint able to use both was the Galaxy Note 4 because the Dual antenna for voLTE. "Please dont quote me on this"
