The Vpn service on the prime causes a reset on connection. Any ideas?

Wait a week for the OS upgrade? It'll have it's own different list of bugs...

Not sure about the canned VPN, but I did get the Citrix Receiver to work well on the Prime.

That's essentially what happened to me on AnyConnect rooted. I can get all the way up to passing credentials, then the tablet reboots. Sounds to me like a bug that underlies the VPN capabilities. Here's to hoping ICS fixes it.
Actually my TF101 always FCs the first time I connect to VPN, it then always works with the second attempt. With the TF201 it resets on every attempt.
I am really looking forward to ICS update though...its great on my galaxy nexus.
VPN still resets the device after ICS. This is my only issue at this point.
hi, is there an update i have to perform to make the dongle work? i am on .21 and unlocked so cant update via asus.
is there anything obvious that happens when the dongle is plugged in, does it show as connected anywhere?

Update .21 is the latest update (although another is right around the corner) and the one you need. I don't have mine yet, so I'm not too sure, but as soon as you connect it and slide the locking mechanism over then it's connected. You have to turn your GPS on under your settings and it should be using the dongle. Have a walk outside, put it on and slide the lock, turn your GPS on and run GPS Test or something similar. Remove dongle and test again, you should see a huge decrease in performance if it performs without the dongle at all.
to be honest i have never seen any problem with the gps, i know its not really a great benchmark but seems just as good as my galaxy s.
i will run the tests with and without but didnt seem any quicker to lock when i popped outside a while ago. wasnt sure it was actually working which is why i posted this. wondered if it showed up anywhere similar to when the dock is in place.

.22 is the latest update. It was forced so you wouldn't have seen it happen. Being rooted doesn't stop updates. I am rooted and it updated itself days ago. It contained the fixes for the dongle to work. For those who are unlocked, you have to wait for your ROM writer to add the code. Gary has said that ASUS are looking to release a version of NVFlash for those who are unlocked.

Really? I suppose you're one of the rare few who has relatively decent GPS reception somehow. Good for you lol, I hate you
I suppose the only way to really be sure is to disconnect the internal GPS from its antenna and then use the dongle. Surely there would be a way for the system to realize the dongle is inserted and to let the end-user know about it. I mean, they tell us to type words with the keyboard, I just can't believe they're not telling us we've plugged the dongle in. I wonder if some kind of Tasker profile couldn't differentiate between it and the dock, I doubt it?

Um, what? .22? What country and are you sure you don't mean .21? I keep my Prime's WiFi on 24/7 and my DMClient unfrozen, just manually checked and no update.
i am unlocked not rooted so i cant get anymore updates from asus. am on the latest .21 . updated before my prime was so kindly unlocked.

Any good?
Does the dongle make a marked difference in reception?
none at all as far as i can see.
could be
1. not working / user error
2. my prime gps was working ok to start with.
hoping there is someway to get feedback from the prime to let me know its using the dongle

I have the dongle
It definitely helps my gps but it dose look bad.
Maybe a company may start making skins for the dongle to make them more attractive and protected. Exposed dongles isn't good. It' not immuned to bumps and bruises.

My bad. Typo on my part. Of course it is .21!!
i think the dongle is well designed. locks in place and fairly discreet considering. could have been an ugly block like a usb stick or the camera add on thingy for the ipod.
i found it makes a nice handle when reading a book

I'll pull out my inner demandarin real quick to say do not apply direct pressure to the dongle - don't use it as an actual handle!
That being said, IMO it would be OK so long as you have larger hands and are pretty careful about it, just don't go trying to support your entire tablet with it. Don't support the tablet at all with it actually, seriously, going to feel terrible if you accidentally crack your screen lol
well didnt actually mean just the dongle. just adds a bit of a ridge to stop and slippage while holding

Does anyone know if there's an item like this that is cheaper but works more or less the same?
I was told it would help with wifi issues at range

Check out this TP-Link unit:

Absolutely tiny, and does 4 modes - client, AP, router and repeater. If you don't need a USB port for a 3G modem, this is a scorching hot deal.
And a UK link for you also.

Looks like an interesting little do-hickey. I shall have to do some reading.
thank you gentlemen i shall give it a try =]

Cool. I get so caught up with the big and bad, I forget to find the tiny and badass
Those are cool, I've never considered finding a tiny portable router to help create wireless networks on-the-spot with wired ones. Awesome.
One thing is not clear for me. I.e. when I'm on holiday, and want to use this with the tfp, do I need a PC or laptop to connect first with the wifi before I can use this? If so it's not very convenient ...

Bought this mouse solely for my transformer prime. Im getting at least 50 mil second lag, works fine with my Asus G75VW Laptop. I'm wondering if there's any way to fix this or if it will improve once Jellybean comes to my Prime from asus. Thanks in advance

Hi all,
Couldn't find anything on the forum about this so far, but it seems like our Primes have another issue with WiFi. There seems to be a vulnerability in the chipset that was used.
Broadcom appears to have published a fix, but the question is, will Asus provide it in an update?

You do realise that this is really a non-issue. I agree that it needs to be fixed, but it will have no affect on the security of your Prime whatsoever.
