For a limited time, any LTE phone's extended battery is 50% off. You have to call and ask for it.
Just got my Rezound a few days ago at a Verizon store and the extended battery was 50% off there too!

I believe it's sold out online, I've looked as well. I even tried the chat thing they have and the lady just said its not listed. Nearest corporate store is a little over an hour away though, might try calling customer service and seeing if they could do it...
The VZW store has them 50% off as well.. grabbed one from my local store..
+1 ... got it in my store today.
Not sure I'm keeping it. Can't find case.

Got one yesterday, I was thinking about getting one before but didn't feel like spending $60. I was at the store already because my girl wanted to see the GNex because she hates her iPhone. I figured if they had one I get it.
IDK if my battery stats aren't correct or what but this doesn't seem to last that much longer than my stock battery. I fully charged it last night and then wiped the battery stats and turned the phone off for the night. When I turned it on this morning at 9 am it was at 83%, with minimal use today (and no charging) its currently at 35%. All I did was listen to music sporadically for about a total of 45 minutes and talked on it for about 10-15 minutes. I'm in the process of draining it down to zero and then fully charging it again since I'm assuming it an error with the stats. Also before I wiped them it stayed at 99% for a good 20 minutes or so before it was fully charged.
I didn't think the deal was still available until I asked. There were no accessories for the Rezound anywhere in the store. They have in the back.
It was indeed 50% off, plus my employee discount of 25%, which came out to $22 and change.

These batteries take insanely long to charge! I drained mine down until it wouldn't turn on anymore and it took six hours to charge to 100% while the phone was powered off.
I just called the closest Verizon store in my area (30 min. away). They are selling them for $49.99. They said the discount was for December only.
Just bought my Rezound and the extended battery was half off.

Well, they're dumb asses because I just got one two days ago. 85% of the employees don't know of a god damn thing about their devices, promotions and other things you would expect them to know about.
2 examples:
1. When I first got my Rezound on the 11/15 I asked the guy if I had the 2 month return window instead of the 2 week window, he said it was 2 weeks, I told him that I saw a thing from Verizon that said it was 2 month and he said it was 2 weeks. Once I got home I looked at the receipt and it said 2 months. This same guy was confused when he asked for my Incredible to "transfer the contacts over" and couldn't unlock it because I had WidgetLocker installed and used the trackball to unlock. He stared at it for a few minutes and said "what kind of software do you have on this? I don't think I'll be able to transfer your contacts over." I told him he doesn't need to because it'll do it automatically when I sign in. He still insisted after that that he needed to "show me the new features of the Rezound" even though I had already proven I knew more than him lol
2. Went to the Verizon store on thursday to show my GF the Nexus and asked a representative if all the 4G batteries were 50%, not just the Nexus and she said no, and so did the rep standing next to her. She then asked another guy who said that all 4G batteries were 50% off.
Mind you, these were the two official Verizon stores in neighboring cities (North Brunswick and New Brunswick, NJ). It's kind of sad when the customer knows more about promotions and products than the employees do.
lmao yeah man, that's why when i had to buy my rezound from a corp store on release day, first thing i said was "yeah i know how it is, i'm a verizon indirect agent."
that shut them both up, and the other guy said to him "just scan in his IMEI and hand him the phone, man" hahahah

The sale ends tomorrow (Sunday the 15th). Got mine in store today. Also my dad said he saw a commercial for it on TV.
Have them try scanning the UPC into the register, it will show up the discount that way. Proof below, click for bigger. I love how the box says 49, but rang up as 59, then was 29 after discount.

I have 25% off for Gov't on accessories and it didn't stack. Still better than what I normally pay.
I am finding your inconsistencies with the reps to be very true. I found a store the next town over that had no problem knowing about the sale. I was sure to let the first store know as I had to drive by it on the way home.
I spent a very amusing thirty minutes or so on chat via the website last night with a complete idiot who kept sending me links to the Samsung Stratosphere extended battery and back, despite my repeatedly sending her links showing the complete inability to even SEE the extended battery and back on the Verizon Wireless website.
Officially she copped to forgetting to put on her glasses (!!) and admitted that they didn't have it online, either in stock or on sale.
This morning, I went into my local VZW store (Plymouth Meeting Mall, PA) and sure enough they had the extended battery and back on sale and in stock for 50% off. I even picked up the TPU case like my regular one which fits the extended battery/back (also $19.99).
As they say, your mileage may vary.

After battling with Verizon for the past week about my phone not serving its primary function, as a phone, they agreed to send me a Dinc2. Now the lady said it would be a factory refurbished device and would not ship with a battery or battery door, I would have to provide these. I went ahead and ordered the extended battery with door, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm kind of thinking since the phone is still new I might just receive a new device and return the extended battery, but wtf? Seems strange.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
If they are sending you a replacement device and it isn't the same device you already have, it is almost always going to be a "refurbished" unit. However, they are supposed to provide all items needed to use the new unit, and I wouldn't have bought anything and instead taken the phone into a store and complained. At the very least, you would have gotten a battery and cover for free, and if you play your cards right, you could potentially walk out with a new phone.
The female rep I talked to said she will be sending only phone + battery + back cover, but when I got it it was clnr(certified like new replacement in the box; SD + Wall Charger(USB)). I didn't send neither my fascinate charger or sd card since they aren't the defective one.
So you won't know until you get it.

She did seem rather reluctant to offer the Dinc2, at first she was going to offer me an early upgrade that would extend my contract and I said i could not afford a new phone. She then said she would meet me halfway which ended with the refurbished "shell" of a Dinc2. I figured this is the best I would get but I'll just wait till tomorrow to see what actually comes, and possibly go complain to my local Verizon store where the workers sadly recognize me from the endless pobems with the fassy. Either way, I got the extended battery/case for $40, so not a bad deal for potentially a $40 Droid Incredible 2
Oh, and keeping my fingers crossed that it ships with Froyo. I don't want to have to resort to an XTC clip

Verizon should always send you a phone with the cover and battery, they can not expect you to go out and spend money if they decide to upgrade you to a different phone but not provide all the parts for the phone. If they were gonna go that route they might as well of just sent you another fascinate. They are essentially saying, here is a new phone, but with only 50% of the parts in it.
Phone arrived this morning and it was just the phone and battery door, no battery. I took it to the store and told the guy they forgot the battery, he made a phone call, and I will have a battery delivered to my door tomorrow for free. Thanks for the tips, they saved me $40 and a few added millimeters of thickness to my new phone.

$29.99 + shipping will probably be less than $49.99 anyway.. And American Dollars $$$ are cheap atm, compared to Norwegian Krone.
I got one @ local Office Depot store for ~ $32 including tax.
I got the email and checked but now it just says its on the way. I dont care anymore because everyone else has them and I got a couple spares.

When that happens, all you have to do is let it sit without being plugged in for 20 - 30 minutes and your good to go again. There's no need to put it in the freezer. Mine did this a couple of times and that's all I did. Something inside the power transformer gets too hot and shuts off so it won't burn up and start a fire or melt the plug.
Well thats a worry right there. It shouldn't be getting that hot anyway if it was manufactored correctly.
I agree whole heatedly, yet there are some people that this is happening to. I'm not sure if it's just a bad batch or if all of them are designed that way. It only happened to me twice. All the other times it's been fine. Weird I know. I wouldn't worry about it too much because it's good to know that the tablet is being protected.
Mine got hot when it was in an area where no air could move over it. Not melting hot, about as hot as my laptop charger. Not that Im all that shocked, its pushing 15v and a couple of amps so its going to get warmer than my phone charger. Its also really small for something doing that. Ive had some smaller laptop chargers get really hot.
Guess as long as it doesnt become an issue I would still take it over the Toshiba charger any day:

This is an O L D fix for Hard drives with on Board electronics IDE and up SATA too
if a multi layered PC board starts to separate because of heat, freezing can bring everything back in contact. Oddly, if it works 15 -30%, it usually keeps working for a very long period of time

It can, will and should get warm.
A side effect of pushing electrical current is heat. This is a law of physics.
The adapter shouldn't get hot enough to melt itself, but it might get hot enough to be unpleasant to hold in your hand.
A question to the hot-charger people.... are you plugging in when the tablet AND keyboard dock are both charging? I rarely use my TF for long enough that the keyboard battery is depleted and then the tablet battery is also depleted. I rarely use the tablet off of the dock.
Got a TF coming in a couple days, and tbh I wish I had read more about them before ordering it, it sounds like this device has a sh1t load of problems that cheapo chinese tablets have got.

hey guys...just wanted to let you know that Office Depot (in the US) apparently has these in stock. i have misplaced my charger, and was needing a replacement (my work is paying for it) so i thought i would google "asus transformer power adapter" and see what the link was for the asus store. yes i know its $50, but since work is paying for it then who cares right? anyway, upon doing my search i found a link to officedepot.com selling the power adapter (and cable) for $29.99!!
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/768723/Asus-Power-Adapter-For-Eee-Pad/
it had "available in stores" so i typed in my zip code, and my local store had "limited availability" showing so i called them. the lady i talked said they had 1 in stock, so i had it held for me, and i just got back from picking it up. booyah! so check the site...you may have to order online, but it least its cheaper than the official asus store! good luck.

Funny I called Office Depot, they said they had one in stock, then said it was on the floor. I said what does that mean, and they said it is plugged into the demo unit. I said that makes no sense the unit came with a charger why would you list it separately since it is part of the unit skew. The guy didn't know the answer but insisted this was the one they had in stock. Told me they should have additional units in stock this week, so I will try again, but Office Depot is a mystery to me.
Working perfectly yesterday, dead this morning - I received it *exactly* 4 months ago. Put in on to charge last night and the green light was showing as normal this morning, but when I went to use it, well... Nothing. Tried all the usual: battery pull, other battery, connect to computer, get into recovery, jig, etc, etc..nothing apart from a stubbornly dead phone. After speaking to the retailer and to Samsung CS, I dropped it off at a service centre (thankfully there is a small one a mile up the road from where I live). It's on stock ICS but rooted and obviously I couldn't, erm let's say "tidy things up" so fingers crossed that it can be revived without them finding out
I am bit miffed right now to be honest (to put it nicely) as I have never had a phone die on me in the last 15 years. I did keep my S2 though so at least I have a phone to use in the meantime!
Hope my S3 won't do that to me.

unlucky man, I wouldn't worry about the rooting issue, if its dead for you it will be dead for them as long as its not just the battery, they'll probably strip it for parts and bin the rest.
Hi all, overnight my phone is dead. Did with it during night. I can not start it, I can not do anything with it. It is only 4 and some day after purchase. What is going on?

Yeah, I'm *really* hoping it's properly dead... It's most definitely not the battery itself, at least that would have been easy to sort out!
I'm going to pitch in with a last resort tip that I have seen reported to work rarely, and is used also on hard drives.
Seal in plastic bag and in the freezer overnight, sounds ludicrous but always worth a try as a last ditch attempt for those without warranty!
Bought mine 2 weeks ago. Exactly 1 week later woke up stuck to the initial samsung galaxy sIII letters and nothing i'd do would make it past that. Had not rooted or done anything to the phone so i didn't even try anything, went to the store and got it replaced. It did reboot randomly a couple of time during that week.
In the store, they were the very definition of assholes about it, not peacefull at all and i was fully expecting it. They said they were doing me a favor by replacing it (i do know otherwise, according to the law they must replace it within 15-30 days of purchase, even if there's no reason), didn't want to replace the battery or the back cover. I agreed to stay with the back cover because acording to them "was scatched", although i swear to the best of my abilities i could not see anything but a very smooth surface on the back cover, so whatever. I did not agree to not having the battery replaced though. I asked the dude if he could prove my phone wasn't malfunctioning because of the battery and since he couldn't, he had no choice but to replace it after a few phone calls.
This was on a fnac store in Portugal, to whoever knows it. This is the same store that agreed to reimburse my money if i needed to return a laptop when i was buying it but lied to my face telling me they said nothing of the sort when i was actually returning it making me take credit in their stores instead for a value of about 1000 euros. I managed to get my money back through trading credits for money to friends who needed to buy stuff over 1 year but it says a lot about how much of a scumbag they can be.
The only reason i went to them is because they were the only store around on boat with the 30% discount campaign samsung did recently and i took the chance to get the phone 30% cheaper.
Nothing wrong with my new unit ever since.
Guys, anyone buy a 920 from AT&T recently and get a charging plate?

Same here "pending shipping" order on launch day.
I bought mine day one, no pre-order, and mine says pending as well. Called AT&T earlier this afternoon and they said it didn't even have a pending ship date, and the only people who would know anything about what's going on would be the warehouse. Naturally, there was no way for her to contact them. Going to call back today. May have been free, but I was told that I would receive it within a week. I haven't, therefore someone at AT&T is gonna pay for lying, lol. I'll report back if I make any headway.
Guy I talked to said they are on backorder, but it took him 30 minutes to get a straight answer. He said it'll still be around 10-14 day before mine even gets thought of when it comes to being shipped.

How well does it work? Do you find it too slow? Do you find the placement hard to get right, are the audio cues accurate?

Seems to work really well. It doesn't charge as fast as the usb but it's not too bad. I was at 86% yesterday when it arrived and it took less than an hour to get to 100%. I haven't tried any other placement other than lining it up parallel with my phone. Not sure what you mean by audio cue, but it does audibly indicate that it's charging about a second after you set the phone down and takes 10-seconds to realize that it's no longer charging once removed from the pad. The pad has a white LED indicator to show it's charging and goes off when fulling charged.
Had a launch Nexus 6p that I bought from the google store, I never purchase extended warranties and have never needed one since every device I've ever owned since my Treo 650 has lasted well beyond its useful life but was still perfectly functional. Hell, I still have a S3 rocking for my kid and it works fine all these years later.
A few months ago I started having the 15% shut off error. Noticed it, wasn't a huge deal because I rarely use the device that low. Few days ago it started getting progressively worse and now the device will turn off between 30-50% depending on the day. Obviously this isn't ideal.
Never had a device do that, ever. Was pretty disappointed actually as this is an obvious hardware issue and was contemplating skipping on Nexus / Pixel devices in the future, heck was even thinking of having an affair with an IPhone for a bit. It had been a long time (since the 3g) and sometimes change is good. The 6p and 5x have had a number of issues, enough that there are class action suits floating around.
Anyway, I wasn't going to call Google. I mean this device was well past warranty, no extended was purchased so why bother calling right? Well I got a wild hair and decided to do just that. Setup a return call and a minute later had someone calling me back.
Explained the issue, told him I wasn't sure if there was anything they could recommend or do but wanted to check. 5 minutes later he is sending me the email for RMA and new device.
Now technically Google didn't have to anything. I know that, I'm appreciative of their efforts to keep me happy. I never asked for nor demanded a replacement, it was offered and for that I am very grateful. I'm not sure if the class action lawsuits over 5x and 6p issues are causing them to be extra cautious, I don't know if this is really par for the course with them. I've never had issues in the past and hope I never do in the future.
Obviously it is preferable for the user to not have to deal with this crap but how a company responds to these issues is important. Easy to sing praise at a company for developing the perfect device that lasts you 4 years when most probably dump it in 2. Harder when the POS you bought is starting to die 14 months in and on hospice at 16 months and the issues are severe enough that class action is talked about. Either way, Google deserves some credit for stepping up to the plate when they didn't have to. I'm a happy user.
I can't say this will occur for everyone with the same issue. What I will say is that if you're out of warranty, don't let that keep you from calling and talking about the issue.
Thank you Google and the Google support staff. Service like that will keep me in Pixels and whatever from the google store forever.
I may try this soon because mine is doing the same thing...
I had the same issue on my XL.... shutting off with no warning after 2-4 hours at about 40-50%, yet I could boot into recovery and stay there until at least 20%. So had accelerated battery loss and an early shutoff.
Bought it open-box off Swappa, so had no Google receipt, but on a whim, opened a support issue (text) from my 6P, which worked fine. I was offered an exchange no-problem. I chose to send in my phone first and had the replacement in less than a week.
FWIW, I think my issue started when I flashed May update and charged it after using a QC 2.0 charger. I usually use a Qi charger and charge it overnight.
I had exactly the same, well outside the standard 1 year warranty. Used the online agent chat to explain the early shut off problem. They instantly suggested an RMA, I didn't have to beg or ask for a replacement. I Ended up getting a brand new phone in its retail box. I saw someone else in another thread say Google offered a full money refund as they didn't have a like for like replacement available. Well done Google!
I got a refurb.
That's awesome to hear. I think they're taking the bad press very seriously.
that was nice of them !

but how exactly does it power off??

Yup, just shuts down. If you try and reboot it is as if you are at 1%. Before shutting down it will show 15% or 30% left on the battery and then boom shutting down.

Me too. I have another 5 months with Nexus Protect.
Refurb came in today and what a total POS. Shuts off randomly from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. You can see the battery % getting all crazy from 93% to 73% to 83% then boom off. Going to call google tomorrow to let them know. Stupid thing died half a dozen times between setup and the apps finishing to download. They must have absolutely zero quality control over at their refurb center.
This will be my last Huwei device and my wife won't buy another LG product either. They really screwed the pooch on that device gen.
Giving me a full refund. Just have to send in both devices.

I love Google. They just took my word that I'd tried everything and couldn't sort it and sent a refurbished phone. It works perfectly and I love it! Now and then when you call you get the odd person who is hard to talk to but that is usually someone in an Indian call centre that doesn't really understand my problem. It took under a week for me. It can take up to two weeks but you should really get it within 5 working days.
I have the same horrible battery issue and am speaking to Google now. Do you think I should mention that I also have a cracked screen (but this is not why I am trying to get a replacement at all)? Or do you think I should say nothing and they wont have an issue still replacing it when I send it in?
EDIT: Nevermind, I mentioned it to the support person and assured him that it was not the reason for wanting a replacement and he said they cannot make the same exception anymore, but if I wanted, they could send me an advance refurb but then they'd bill me for the screen which would not be covered. He is having trouble telling me the screen cost though first...
Not sure if it's worth that for just a refurb at this point. POS phone. I told him I'll hold off for now.
I didn't opt for the "advanced" replacement (where they ship a phone first and charge my CC), yet they appeared to have shipped my refurb shortly after I shipped mine. I got my refurb about 3 business days after shipping mine and confirmation about 5 days after I had my phone that they had received my defective one. My refurb looked great (as did my defective phone)
Talked to support on chat and they took care of me (even though i didn't have a warranty and my phone is 2 years old) as a one time courtesy. Google customer service is pretty awesome! phone will be here within a few days. ?
google took care of me as well. my replacement will be in tomorrow. I have had my 6p since launch. only swapped out because of the obvious battery issue.
I'm facing the battery issue too, but the problem is that I live in Brazil and the 6P wasn't officially released here. I bought mine during a trip to US last year. I was thinking about buy a battery and try to replace it by myself but I'm afraid of shatter the camera glass during the disassemble.
So here is my question: how long is taking in average to get the refurb (in advance)? I'll be in Round Rock (near Austin) for a whole week next month but I'm not sure if it's enough time to do this exchange.
