K9 Mail and Gmail Trash Problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I like K9 mail and the pinch to zoom function (very important for me).
I can't resolve a problem: when I delete a message in K9 it still appares in Gmail Inbox (if I check in web gmail or thunderbird on PC).
The message have the label "trash" and "inbox" so this is the reason why it appares as not deleted.
I changed the Account settings without result, here my setting:
- Fetching mail > When I delete a message > Delete From server
- Expunge deleted messages > Immediately
- Folder > I set [Gmail]/Trash
Can someone help me please?

The best thing to do is to write the developer and explain your issue. Let him look to see if this is a problem with his program or if you need to adjust a setting.

k9-mail

Hi ,
Iam feduped with k9 mail for yahoo push mail setup ,its always says "couldn't finish setup" , i did manually & auto .
Any help pls
yahoo uses apple's XAPPLEPUSHSERVICE instead of the standard IDLE to give push notifications to your phone. this uses SMS messages to notify and is not supported by k9.
as far as the error, continue past it, then go to "Account settings > Sending mail > Outgoing server" and hit "Next" and you should be able to send mail. i've seen this issue in both yahoo and hotmail SMTP servers, but not the several others i have for testing.

[Q] IMAP account + Background sync

Hi
I am using 2 imap accounts within the messaging application but the emails are nto being pushed to my device (the problem described in this thread.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432778 )
Yesterday I found the "Accounts and Sync Settings" application in my phone and as I checked it there, I found that my email accounts are listed there but the synchronisation settings for them is set to "OFF" which may be the reason why is the push not working...
I checked all the settings regarding the email accounts and their delivery options but they are set to be pushed, there is no data saver or whatever - simply are conditions are fine but I can't get them to sync in the background (yes - the folders are set to work in the background sync mode....)
Anyone knows what is wrong? - why are not the imap accounts enabled to use the background sync???
thanks

AOL sync issues. Can anyone help?

When I had my Droid X and I got an email, I could delete it on my computer and it would disappear from my phone.
But it doesn't do that with my S3. Even when I delete an email on my laptop, I still have to delete every single email that I receive from my phone. It is annoying. And I have tried removing, and then re-adding the account.
Any other suggestions?
I found this on another board.
I think I have it figured out - it's in the setup of the email account and the server settings.
To set up a screenname / email address:
Main menu
Applications
Email
Menu
Accounts
Click add account
Select Others, not AOL
Enter email address and password
Here's the important part - choose the manual setup, not next. This will take you to incoming server settings. It should fill the settings automatically - IMAP / [email address]/ imap.aol.com / 143 / None
Hit next.
This is the outgoing server settings - again, auto filled - smtp.aol.com / 587 / None
Hit next. Then you customize the sync settings, name the account, choose your display name, and then hit Done. In Email, you can tailor signature settings, etc.
The key is the manual setup and having incoming and outgoing settings right - this fixes the trash syncing, allows folders to be displayed, etc.

How to delete contacts only visible when choosing to compose email or message?

In the phone app, under Contacts, there are some contacts that are only visible when I select contextual menu > Send email or > Send message
How do I delete those?
I just tested it and if I delete the Google account they are associated with, then those contacts are also deleted.
But is it possible to delete those contacts without resorting to deleting the Google account?
Can anyone reproduce this please?

[Q] Delete "Corporate" email account Android 4.4

Hi, I'm running stock Android 4.4 on a Nexus 5.
Does anyone know how to delete an email account listed under Corporate in Settings / Accounts. I deleted two Hotmail accounts by clicking > Settings > IMAP > *click on account* > Settings > Remove Account. However, both Hotmail accounts are still showing in the Calendar and Email apps. I was trying to uninstall my Hotmail accounts and reinstall them again as my Hotmail calendars were showing duplicate entries in the calendar app. Now it seems they are uninstallable / unremovable?!!!
Please help!
PROBLEM SOLVED
EDIT: I rebooted my phone and checked the sync boxes under Settings > Corporate > *account* and the Remove Account option showed up under the Settings Dots. God. What a palava. Why do those boxes have to be ticked to have the Remove Account option showing?!
