Sorry, what's the app?
Have you enabled "usb debugging" on tablet before starting SuperOneClick on your PC?
usually this is "root" of the problem

Hi, i know my problem now. I can't get Folio 100 recognised by Windows 7.
Always is recognised as "Toshiba Mass Storage" or "H:\".
I tried already on two differents computers (two with Windows 7), one Windows is clean install i can't install ADB driver.
I downloaded Android SDK r11 from here
I installed Java Development Kit since Android SDK won't run without it.
I run Android Manager, install only platform-tools for adb
I install Google USB and add lines for Nvidia Tegra 2
I do cmd echo
Restart
I put Toshiba Folio in Debug Mode, plug-in...
Windows install Mass Storage driver only...
Turn off Debug Mode and turn on... Device goes to Mass Storage Mode...
Windows won't do anything with modified usb driver inf
Windows eventually installs a device as "H:\"
Nothing more.
Please help, thanks in advance.
Hi again.
Also, i can install ADB, Android SDK and SuperOneClick on Mac... But i don't know if i can tweak usb driver for doing root here.
SOLVED WITH FASTBOOT
Thanks to all!!!

[Q] successful root?

I used indirects root method and everything went well. Also downloaded the 3 files and froze Devicemanagerservice 2.3.4. Installed the files with Titanium Backup, unfroze 2.3.4. Device info shows software version 9.9.9. I can also download from B&N. Here is where I have the questions. I am using Go Launcher. Using tgps the 2 usb debugging boxes are checked as well as auto mount. Is this correct for normal operation? If I check using the nook&zergy.bat file it tells me NT is rooted and it does reconize my NT. It also says I did not install ADB Hijack. Is this normal, do I need this? When I connect the NT to my laptop (windows xp sp2) using USBDeview it shows up as : B&N nook tablet USB device, Android composite ADB interface, and USB mass storage device. Is this correct? When I use safely remove hardware, I show Android composite ADB interface and USB mass storage device. I can stop the USB mass storage device but when I try to stop the Android composite ADB interface it says it cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it. Is this normal? Everything works as it should and I am pleased with the root process, just want to make sure I have it properly rooted to prevent the OTA update.
Thanks
David
Hello and welcome to the forum. Yes everything is normal, don't be messing around with the drivers.

[Q] Enabling Mass Storage 2.3.6

I'm trying to root my friends' ATT SGS2 i777. on GB 2.3.6
When I connect it to the computer it won't recognize it and say the device has malfunctioned.
The phone says "MTP Initialization/Connected" when I want it to enable mass storage
The Latest Samsung Kies is installed, and the computer is up to date with drivers.
I've tried going to settings>Wireless and Networks>USB Utilities but it never really connects or mounts any SD
I've tried enabling USB Debugging but still not a mount or connection.
I've tried checking "Unknown Sources" and installing USB Mass Storage apk but it'll say an error parsing the package message.
I know what MTP is, but the phone only shows up on the computer as an unknown device.
From what I know, connecting and making sure the drivers are installed is the only way rooting this phone.
Please help with any suggestions, I know there is a way.

There should be an icon in the notification bar to enable UMS
Get Mobile ODIN and flash a stock rooted tar file. Just like you would on PC ODIN.

Need help rooting Sanei N78 tablet

It has 4.1.1 JB(kernel version 3.0.8+). I installed drivers for the tablet on PC, tablet has USB debugging enabled, unmounted storage. I tried some rooting methods and it had no effect at all(Superoneclick - it stops on step 7, waiting for device, manually rooting - adb shell won't run when i enter the command, root by Bin4ry - it processes the entire operation and competes it with no errors and for some reason it had no effect also). Any suggestions or solutions?

Do a search and you'll find the solution elsewhere - it requires that you install a new ROM that's already been rooted. Apparently only Sanei N78 distributions earlier than 2013 can be rooted. Later ones can't.
Thanks for the information. I'll try it.

i would suggest you swing over to the techknow.me forums and check there u may be able to root using the uberizer tool that they have for a10 and a13 devices. I can verify that it works because i used it to root my Sanei N91
I received a sanei n79 on 4.1.2.. I also was wondering on how to root so i googled a bit and came across a website SRSdotcom/support and scrolled threw the list till i found my device. I used the SRS one click root tool and it rooted my device. It installed superuser without a hitch. Now my only question is if they are any roms for this device.. or how can i take out some of the preloaded apps

Connection/installation problem as ADB device - not listed

Hi,
I need to get my V30 listed as adb device in the command, but I experience big problems with this normally simple step.
I have a rooted Nvidia Shield, so a little experience with adb, but I'm too stupid to get my V30 recognized as an adb device. USB debugging is activated on the phone for sure, but I have the impression it's not because I don't know what is going on.
I have tried different things, and uninstalled the phone driver between my different approaches with the USBDeview tool.
install adb-setup-1.4.3 completely + connect V30 -> run command from the adb.exe directory on my hard drive -> no devices listed/found
used a USB 2.0 port instead of USB 3.0, still nothing.
tried to install the Google USB driver via device manager manually by selecting "android_winusb.inf" file, but Windows says the device is already installed with the newest version. It's listed under "portable devices", no clue how I can change this. My shield tablet was listed under other devices as well as adb device etc....you know what I mean. So I have no idea why the V30 makes so much problems here.
I installed the Android SDK and downloaded Google driver from there to use them for the V30 driver installation -> Windows 10 says already installed, no chance. When I uncheck the box "compatible hardware", I can only choose between some MTP device drivers, no adb or google driver or anything like that. :crying:
I tried restarting both, PC and LG V30, did a reset to factory settings of my V30.....no chance. I would like to disable some bloatware apps and use the SD card as internal storage (formatting function of the SD card as internal storage isn't available, silly I know). So no root for now, just a little extra functionality. I don't know what to do, please help me. :crying:
