Whenever I try to unlock my streak, half the time I get the sticky slider then can't unlock it (even if I try shutting screen off then turning it back on) for a minute or two. It drove me crazy.
I noticed when I get it though, if I turn the screen off then turn the streak into portait position and turn the screen back on, no sticky slider
Hope this helps you guys.

screen mode widget doesn't help either. I missed a call today because of the dumb sticky slider problem. What causes it anyway?

You can use Incoming Call Plus BETA. It's a great app, available from the market or XDA-devs.

It might be a screen calubration issue, i just calibrated my screen and will report bsck in a few days
You know, after moving from the iphone to Android I spent so much time playing with the lock screen, mainly because I could I guess. I installed Wigetlocker and had gotten my lock screen to the point where it was a regular work of art.
Then one day it dawned on me that if I wasn't using the lock screen for security (as in, with a code to unlock the phone), that there wasn't really a point in having one.
So, I installed "No Lock" from the Market, and I have never looked back. Now, when I hit the power button, the phone is just on. Works great, and I have experienced ZERO negative effects. The phone has never turned on in my pocket, and the screen lights up just fine when a call comes in. I don't miss my lock screen at all.
Sure, I still have to deal with a slider to answer a call, but that's a heck of a lot less often than every time I want to turn my device on to look at it.
Anyway, just a thought for those who might be tired of dealing with a sticky slider on the lock screen.

That was a bloody good call.
It wound me up having to unlock my screen EVERY time to look at it.
I've probably saved about 3 mins a day now or 1000 mins a year!

that would make sense, bigger slider=easier to slide. I'm guessing 160 is stock?
I've looked around but haven't seen anything current on this.
Is there a way to remove th Emergency Call button from the Lockscreens?(pattern, pin)
From what I understand it is a widget and I tried to remove it rendering my phone not able to pass boot up. That was horrible.
So any info on this would be great.
p.s. for GingerTazz
no ideas on how to get this button out of there?
No, not unless there are replacement pattern/pin lockscreen apps, similar to WidgetLocker is a replacement lockscreen, but it doesn't appear to have pattern/pin capabilities.
There's got to be a way to just go into the apk and remove one or two lines of code to make it not appear. I know that's hacky leaving the unneeded code in there, but I don't care I really hate the button.
Anyone know what apk it is?
Probably so hard to remove because the FCC mandates that all phones even ones that aren't activated have to be able to make emergency calls.

How much time do you spend looking at your lock screen anyway?

It's not the amount of time I spend looking at it, but rather the number of times I have to look at it. Every time I take my phone from my pocket and swipe my pattern or enter my pin I see it, which is . . . a lot.

ROFL! Very well worded and to the point!
I'd even be a little more happy if the emergency button was incorporated into the pin pad like THIS

I get lag and unresponsive touch controls after a few hours heavy use. It is resolved with a reboot. Not many 3 party apps installed. Is there a particular way to exit apps in android, I notice not every app has a exit option in it's menu.
Most annoying is when browsing the web and the screen can't determine if it should zoom or scroll.
I'm coming from WM6.5 so if there are some basics that apply to Android and are not phone specific, please point me to the right guide.

Likely the issue. It will probably get better over time too, but the task manager is a good thing to use. Task KILLERS are bad though.
+1 again! lol I stopped using ATK after my X1.
My friend bought a droid and the person in the store installed it for him. That disappointed me.
I've noticed it too, mostly with ADW EX. This is my third Android phone so I'm not a noob. I'm about to return it and get nexus.

its funny that a phone that isnt out yet is the king of all phones with 0 issues. All hail the nexus, the most perfect phone to ever come out
oh whats that you say, its not out yet....
I am cant wait till the nexus comes out actaully and you start seing the exact same threads "CAN WE DISABLE THE SOFTKEYS SO WE CAN GET MORE SCREEN REALESTATE!!!!" OMG IM RETURNING THIS FOR THE REZOUND!!1!one!!!!"
You must have seen my thread! lol
Chill out guys, the phone gets better with more development, complaining about issues that can pretty easily be resolved with some Dev effort isn't going to get us the Dev effort we want. There is an issue thread, lets keep everything confined to that thread unless it is a question that hasn't been asked. That way, they can see what the issues are, and take action as they can.
like i post everywhere, especially on youtube (because youtube=full of haters)
Nexus fanboys have become as bad as Apple fanboys. period. they're JUST as bad now, and they're annoying as ****. whatever, let him return it and get a phone that's got no definitive release date. he can have fun with his boring, ugly stock android while we love our looks of sense.
I can say that I've had 0 issues with this phone whatsoever. Which is very surprising to me being that every phone that I've ever had always had something about it that I didn't like. I can't find anything with the rezound that I don't like. No lags, battery life is good, zippy, and the screen is amazing. I haven't used the task killer as of yet and I don't think I'm gonna have to. Not trying to sound like a fanboy but it is what it is.

I think I figured it out, in the afternoon I plug the phone in to charge so it will be fully charged by the time I get off work. At that time is when I was experiencing instability. What I found the cause to be is a cheapo usb cable. Anytime I try to use the phone with that cable plugged in it would exhibit instability and a jumpy screen. It would stop immediately after I unplug the usb cable. Never had this type of problem with a cable before, I've had phones not charge because of loose fitting cables but never had a cable screw the phone up like that.

if you are plugged in, check your usb power adapter
I usually change batteries often enough on my tbolt that it isn't a problem, but I like system panel app's widget to kill all. If my phone starts to bog down, just hit it on the home screen and everything gets cleared. You can set a list of apps for it to ignore as well.
As far as nexus fanboys, yeah they are getting bad and tech bloggers are the worst. Reviews of the nexus have actually been pretty middle of the road. Engadget said that it is not as smooth as GB (ICS) and the camera was disappointing. You also can't mount your storage to usb to transfer files and the screen has some amoled issues, esp. with brightness turned down.
I'm definitely favoring the rezound, but will wait till I can score one on Craigslist for about 300.
i just got a samsung galaxy proclaim. All i want is an app that can make the 4 soft touch buttons on the bottom of the phone be light up whenever the screen is lit up. The phone is for my dad, who cant see the best, and he can never see the buttons when they are not lit. I am very tech inclined and have rooted my thunderbolt and modded the hell out of it and flashed roms all the time last year. I really can not find anything out there app wise, and there is not other option other than holding your finger over the light sensor on the front of the phone.
I dont think an app like this would be hard, but I dont know how to make apps. I will pay for it as well.
feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want to discuss how much this would cost.
the phone is not rooted, but i could root it if that is necessary. would rather not as i see it presenting new possibilities for problems for a VERY beginner user just learning what texting means.
thank you all

Can you tell me the name of this app, because its no more at the link you provided.
I need an extra push, I'm hoping to find it here.
I'm coming from a Galaxy S2. There are two things I will have to live without, can anyone tell me if I should be worried?
1. The lack of a menu and search button.
2. Not having the ability to take out the battery.
On another note, I was wondering if someone could confirm if it's possible to remove the HTC Sense? The first thing I plan on doing is rooting it and removing basically any software HTC and AT&T add. One other question.. does anyone know if the IR can be setup to use custom commands, or if that's something we have to wait for developers?
I don't have much to add on here except the search button is so two years ago. No need to have that button there with the advent of long pressing and double tapping.

Most people that cry about batteries are usually closet Samsung fanboys. The ability to "take out the battery" is a bit overrated. Sorry but I don't have any need to add a brick to the back of my phone just so I can show off some "amazing battery stats"

Actually it's nice to have a search button where if I'm in the app drawer I can tap that and search for an app. Or if I'm on the home screen it opens google now. Or on a browser, it's a quick search button. You get the idea. What's the alternative now? How do you open Google Now or search for apps quickly?

I hate the way the S4 looks, and the S3. The huge rounded corners are a big turn off. I would end up getting that if I can't put up with the limitations the one has to offer.

Actually, I don't care about that.. I can optimize android to get what I need out of it. But I do like the ability to replace it if it dies or degrades in performance in a year from now, or say.. my phone is frozen, taking out the battery is often the fastest way to turn the damn thing off. Most of my stuff is in the cloud now, so I don't see me needing to replace my SD card. But it has occationally come in handy when I want to just pop it into my laptop to transfer some large files. I'm going to miss that.
I'm usually a Samsung guy but the one is amazing. We complain about the battery being no good over time and needing the ability to swap out. However, we get the next best thing after a year or so of use then sell the current device. The one is good. I haven't even rooted yet. I can wait until we get a stock RUU.

If I have any issues with the battery I am calling Squaretrade and getting a replacement. That's the great thing about having insurance even though I am not even sure If I will be using this device for the full 2 years. Also, if you hold the power button down for 10 seconds its just like pulling the battery, but much faster.
I came from having a Galaxy SIII on Verizon, switched to ATT with a Galaxy SII Skyrocket and am now a happy camper with my One. The biggest hurdle was getting over not having the same capacitive buttons and how much faster the One is.
By no means am I a heavy user but I am sitting here with 60% battery going on just over 8 hours.
Lol I love being to put a beastly 7000 mah battery in my phone to get 3 days of battery. But if I can't, it isn't that big of a deal. Btw I'm not a Samsung fan boy, I'm a fan of whatever is the best.

On a custom rom you can map the other buttons to do a menu and maybe even a search (I'm not sure)
Holding power+vol up and down simulates pulling the battery
Right now there is not a way to remove sense, you can use 3rd party launchers for now. They are working on pure android ROMs and development will be GREAT on this device. I have owned a S2 and played with the One and the One is SWEET. (I'm still waiting for my black to arrive). I have a HTC One XL and think it is MUCH better than my S2. Just get it, You will love it. Or wait for development to grow a little to give you all those features
