Does anyone know how to create live wallpapers from .dream files? I'm highly interested in this however I'm unable to find anything that will do this for me.
Live wallpaper isn't just a video file or Adobe Flash file, it's an application, like any other android app it requires development skills.
Dream**** (I forgot how this thing is called in Vista) files are just .avi files with a small manifest.
So there's no way to convert it.
If its an avi I'm pretty surevyou can use videopaper in the market
Edit wrong name but I know the app exists

Well, thanks for the info.
But anyway I was right, it's not a conversion from .dream to .apk.

Just with the assumption of how that must work I assume that must make it possible to literally watch your battery like a countdown timer.
any news? Maybe just getting a video format from .apk and them we can use it in dreamscape

Sorry for the long wait time. It is possible to use them as live wallpapers. Install Deskscapes, apply the dream on your computer, then check in
C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData
and you'll find that deskscapes converts all of the .dream files into either .mpg .avi or .wmv, then load them up in a live wallpaper video app. Unfortunately most dreams are 1080p so the resolution will be wrong on your phone unless you're using something with a 1080p display.

Does anyone know where movies that you download on the Watch app are located. I would like to be able to place mine downloaded movies into that folder so they could show up in the Watch Widget.
Basically I want to be able to say download a video file not using the watch app but use the watch app and widget to play the videos
I could be wrong, but i think watch is streaming only.
Crap because I love how the widget looks. O well.
On mine it stores the downloaded movies to the sdcard/.data/HtcWatch/files/

Yes, you are wrong. It's "progressive downloading" meaning basically that you watch it as it downloads (giving you the same functionality as streaming but you get to keep a copy for later on without having to worry about an internet connection).

Thank you for that.
Now it seems like the only other problem is Watch can only play .mp4
Well I tried to place a .mp4 into that file location and I still can not get the file to show up in the widget. Their must be something else going on that I am not smart enough to figure out. O well.
It only reads wav or wmv I think

No if you go into that folder torseni5t posted you will see that the preloaded trailers are .mp4
I converted a video to fit the 3d's screen size and I want to see if it works well on the 3d. I won't have mine until Friday.

It was already a 3d video. I just shrunk it... It was 258MB and now it is around 34MB. The file size difference is what I am after.

It's almost certainly a file extension issue.
:-( Appears side by side double screen.
What are the file extensions of the camcorder on the 3d? Here is the instructions I used, I was hoping it would carry the 3d over with the file I used.
http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc...deos_and_transfer_them_to_the_htc_evo_3d.html
It could also be that the file type was wrong to start. I don't know if side by side is the format needed.
Hey guys,
I have a question and maybe you can help me out.
I bought a sony xperia s, and accidentally deleted my hd demo videos that where standard on the phone.
Does anybody have them?
If so can you please upload them?
And now im talking about hd videos, i have 1 more question.
If i want to watch a movie on my xperia s (lord of the rings for example)
How can i get that on my phone in hd quality?
Do i have to convert or can i buy movies?
I live in the netherlands and we have no movie support from sony....
Hope you guys can help me out
Cya
i would like to find out too how to get the hd movies as HD as the one provided by sony when we first buy our phones , details would be like what converter to use and so on and etc
AFAIK, hd videos should be in avc format for the XS to play them correctly
What about this?
http://www.box.com/s/gdqb8di075apktstsiha
Damn, I lost those two videos too. Done factory reset.
UPDATE:
Got it. Found it.... on my hard drive. Because Box.com won't accept files over 100MB, I packed 1 video into 2 archives.
Xperia HD Landscapes.mp4
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball.mp4 (part 1)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball.mp4 (part 2)
WOOOOT!!!
Thanks buddy for the videos.
This is exactly i was looking for.
And because of you, i got the answer on the 2nd question to.
All videos are mp4
For others video formats you can use mx player.
This is a really good app because it loads subs to...
Cya
What subs format? .srt?
It is funny, because only couple of people requested it, but by now, about 20 people downloaded HD demo videos and about the same downloaded Avengers trailer.
The best app to convert video is Handbrake. Not the easiest, but it's the fastest and the best once you figure out the right settings.
hi,
here is one sample that i did with my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538307
the focus issue is cause of the option we choosed, bad choice,, we should of choose "infinite"

I agree with this. Once you get the right settings saved to a profile, it's nice and easy. Perhaps we need a sticky with the best settings once we work it out.
once you found out the setting would you please post it for us here =) would be so damn great i tried to tinker around with it earlier and well no result .
By the way i was one of the people who downloaded the avengers video any idea where to download other videos like that?
Believe it or not, Avengers trailer I have posted above comes from YouTube. I use Firefox with YouTube downloader plugin. It basically adds an extra button on site, where you can choose what version you want to download.

I bought Hulk on DVD and wanted to transfer the file to my Rezound, how do I go about it? On my computer the file is in WMV format, and when I pulled a video from my phone it was in MP4 format I believe? Well, my question in a nutshell is can I just drag the video into the 'video' folder of my phone? Will it automatically convert it to the proper format? Or is there another step I must do? Thanks in advance!

No you will have to rip it from the DVD and encode it in Mp4 format. I'd suggest handbrake to do it.

dont rip it as an AVI format because it always seems to get the audio out of sync with the video.
I've got the video into MP4 file now, but where do I put it? I'm looking through the HTC folder storage looking for some place to put (where my other videos are that I've recorded) it, but with no luck. Does anyone happen to know?
edit: I put it into a folder with my pictures, and after I unmounted my phone I was able to find it. Well, I tried to play it with no luck. The phone shows the file as "1:54" in length, but when I tried to play it the screen was nothing but purple and black pixels. :x

Yeah I did download it to my pc, and it wont let me copy it to my droid using my cable because it says the file is protected I assume that means the drm is preventing it. I might try stripping the drm and converting the file to a different file type that android can read since we cant read .wmv files which is what it downloads as.

Or since you already legally bought it, just download it through a torrent. That is the real use for torrents don'tcha know

I literally lol'd. You bought it, you own it, therefore if you torrent it and get "caught" you can prove that you were either A. Backing it up and/or B. Converting it to a compatible format - which in both cases is not pirating. Torrenting has legitimate uses too bro.

Use an alternate android media player, such as MX Player. It plays a ton of different file formats that the default android player won't.
I use MX Player to play tons of files natively without converting, like hi10p 1080p Anime with dual audio and soft subs. You can also download a custom ffmpeg plugin to support DTS audio, which i think is the only major thing it's missing by default.
This is much more convenient than converting every movie you want to put on your phone. The DNA is more than powerful enough to play all the common formats.

I think its the drm that was the issue
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
So I used audible tunebite 10 it's actually quite a unique software. Basically since the file is protected by drm and I need to convert it so I can copy it to my phone I opened up tunebite and converted it. Tunebite re records the movie and takes what ever is going through the sound card and on the screen it then converts the file and you can do as you please with it because the new converted file is not protected by drm. The new output had basically the same quality as the original. Only con is it took about 2 and a half hours so I just watched the movie again. It's also really good for music. An example that you can use it for is let's say I want a song so I open up spotify turn record on in tunebite and it will capture the sound going through the sound card and then convert it to a file format I want. It also then automaticallt tags the song and then I can do as I please with it. It's a very nice software and you can buy it from their site or through amazon like I did.
There is a free trial that you can use to see what the software is capable of before you buy it that's what I did and I liked it. With the trial you are limited on how long you can recorded and what not but it's just to get a taste of it and see the results. Overall I think it works very well and I will deffidently get my money's worth.

Yes that is probably not legal however the main reason I am using this is really just to make a copy of the movie I bought to covert it to a readable format and be able to play the movie on my nexus 7. Also since I'm just making a copy in a different format the drm has not been touched from the original file.
