Transferring video help to Rezound - HTC Rezound

I bought Hulk on DVD and wanted to transfer the file to my Rezound, how do I go about it? On my computer the file is in WMV format, and when I pulled a video from my phone it was in MP4 format I believe? Well, my question in a nutshell is can I just drag the video into the 'video' folder of my phone? Will it automatically convert it to the proper format? Or is there another step I must do? Thanks in advance!

No you will have to rip it from the DVD and encode it in Mp4 format. I'd suggest handbrake to do it.

Format factory is good also.

Are these just programs I can Google? Will the directions be self explanatory after that?

dont rip it as an AVI format because it always seems to get the audio out of sync with the video.

I've got the video into MP4 file now, but where do I put it? I'm looking through the HTC folder storage looking for some place to put (where my other videos are that I've recorded) it, but with no luck. Does anyone happen to know?
edit: I put it into a folder with my pictures, and after I unmounted my phone I was able to find it. Well, I tried to play it with no luck. The phone shows the file as "1:54" in length, but when I tried to play it the screen was nothing but purple and black pixels. :x

On your external SD there should be a folder named "Videos". Pop it in there and it will show up in gallery.

[Q] dvd on my vibrant?

can someone tell me how to copy movies onto my phone i love avatar with my a2dp bt headphones but want more movies to watch help someone ?
You need to find a dvd converter that will make it into an mp4 format then connect your phone to your computer and move the file to your phone

Torrent some files and them just drag and drop them to your external sd on your phone

Search for Handbrake. Its free and it will do it just fine.
I play Xvid, Dvix, Mp4, M4v on mine all the time.
Find a dvd copier and rip the disk to you're computer. Then download a free program called format factory (can change the file type and quality very easily) pick a file type and format (.3gp, .mp4, .avi, .flv, .wmv, work on the vibrant)
Sent from my futuristic phone
Download a program on your computer called Vuze. The updated version allows you to convert downloaded movies right into Vibrant compatible format.
rockplayer will play just about any format as well
My 2 cents are on format factory

I tried handbrake it tells me the file is copyrighted cannot copy

I want to say that there is a windows program called "Granny Smiths" that will allow your dvds to be converted by hand brake. I was having the same problem a while back. I was able to use hand brake on my "King of Queens" dvds after using G Smiths. Or... Haven't got to test it yet but you can go to frostwires site and pick up an android app. Got it a couple of days ago for free
Should be able to go to www.cnet/downloads for that first one.

I use the swarm app along with rockplayer app. Swarm is a bit torrent app that works great on vibrant phones.

Hey I use realplayer converter for all my movies. I haven't had any problems using it.
Your Vibrant can play DVD's, just jam a disc into the microUSB port and it should begin playing.

I did the drag and drop thing but still will not play movies. The movies are digital copies that you get when you buy a blueray if that matters? Also I had to extract them from my Itunes library. which is the samething i did for my music and it workes fine. I am also using mobo player. it showes me the movie just can not play it

You might have to convert the files or download an app that supports more file ranges because stock only supports a handful. I'm not sure if moboplayer does this, but you can try vplayer which I believe does.. personally I have all my movies as avi files and use vitalplayer
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
It's the copy protection in the digital copies. I've never been able to play digital copies on any of my Android phones because of the copy protection. Try downloading a program like DVDFab and rip your movies into M4V format and they play on Mobo Player or even the stock player just fine. If you do a search you can find a post I made a few months back about what settings to use to rip them for best quality.
Thanks for all the help

Convert .dream to live wallpaper

Does anyone know how to create live wallpapers from .dream files? I'm highly interested in this however I'm unable to find anything that will do this for me.
Live wallpaper isn't just a video file or Adobe Flash file, it's an application, like any other android app it requires development skills.
Dream**** (I forgot how this thing is called in Vista) files are just .avi files with a small manifest.
So there's no way to convert it.
If its an avi I'm pretty surevyou can use videopaper in the market
Edit wrong name but I know the app exists

Well, thanks for the info.
But anyway I was right, it's not a conversion from .dream to .apk.

Just with the assumption of how that must work I assume that must make it possible to literally watch your battery like a countdown timer.
any news? Maybe just getting a video format from .apk and them we can use it in dreamscape

Sorry for the long wait time. It is possible to use them as live wallpapers. Install Deskscapes, apply the dream on your computer, then check in
C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData
and you'll find that deskscapes converts all of the .dream files into either .mpg .avi or .wmv, then load them up in a live wallpaper video app. Unfortunately most dreams are 1080p so the resolution will be wrong on your phone unless you're using something with a 1080p display.

Video app with folder browsing

Hello.
I'm looking for a video application that lets you browse your phone/sdcard like a file manager and click on the video files that you want to play.
I know RockPlayer can do this but I wanted to try something else. Does anyone know an app similar to RockPlayer?
Thanks!
Try Mobo Player

Thanks, but it didn't work as I wanted it to. Basicaly I have a few videos that I do not want to show up in the defualt video app so I have put a ".nomedia" file in the folder where these videos are located.
Mobo player found all of these anyway and saved them for easy access.
RockPlayer is perfect really but I'm just fealing a little paranoid I guess, because it has the "Phone Call" permission. Why would a normal video app want to "read phone state and identity"? I'm not sure how it works.

Icon on movies

Hi all.
When i watch a movie on my phone, i get a little icon that appears in the top and after some time it moves to the middle. (it looks like a Windows media icon). It only comes with files in wmv and avi format. I've tried alot of media players and they all do the same thing. I'm running on viper amaze 1.7.1 but it still does it regardless of the rom I use.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I also forgot to mention that when i connect my phone to my pc and disconnect, my sd card unmounts and i have to open the phone, eject and insert the card and it works fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
