[Q] Touchpad not recognized by computer through USB hub - TouchPad General

Hi, I am having an issue where the computer does not recognize the Touchpad after the initial software installation through a USB hub. This touchpad has Android running on it and I am using Android all the time. I don't know why this happens because it works fine by just plugging it into the regular USB port of a computer, but fails to recognize through a hub. Anyone having this issue? Can someone help me please? Thanks

If you are using a non powered hub then its a power problem.
In any event you run the risk of problems over a hub when syncing or updating so best to not use one anyway!

Thanks for the reply. It worked before for a long time and it just suddenly stopped working. I guess I'll take it out then.

Sounds like your phone USB port may be defective. It is possible you have pushed it in a wee bit when plugging the cable in one time through the m/f not being aligned just right, and now the male connector on the cable isn't going in far enough. Either that or hardware issue. Tried a different USB cable? I use an old BB cable at work without problems. Any micro USB cable should work to see if you have a cable problem.

Maybe same problem with this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42461874&postcount=1342
I also have the same problem to connect my gtab to PC for restocking, its not recognized at all. So I though the problem is because of the new rom I used, I have no idea but uninstal the usb driver and clean the registry as well. Than instal the driver again-restart (windows) and connect my Gtab to PC done. It Works again. :good:
Its my first post, so I hope its usefull for everyone.
Greeting from Jakarta.
Thanks, the problem solved after moving from stock ROM to custom ROM.
Currently, I'm using [ROM][JB][JZO54K] CyanogenMod 10 by ivendor - Release 2.5 - Kernel 3.0.x and it's working great

[HELP] XT910 no USB connection detected

Hi,
Need help. I used to be able to transfer file via my windows or mac, plug in the usb cable, got the usb debug notification shows up on my phone, pull down the notification, I can choose MTP or Mass Storage.
Then one day, it just decided not to work anymore, I can no longer see those usb debug option. Everytime I plug in my USB cable. I have also tried different sort of usb cable even the original motorola usb cable, but nothing works.
Weird thing is when I plug the phone, nothing happened, then I unplug and plug it back, it will start charging, but still no usb debug options. I also cannot hear any sounds in windows when I plug in the usb.
Please, any idea, tips or does anyone ever experienced this before and know what's the solution?
Thanks much!

Update, it seems to get detected when I plug it in on PC that is running XP. This is getting weirder...
The Stock ICS Final i'm running works flawlessly with the usb connection, but various custom ROM's i've tried can't mount either Internal SD or External SD. Turning off USB debugging mounts the internal memory on some ROM's, but only with read rights.
There are quite a few people with this problem, and despite searching everywhere i haven't found an proper answer as to why this happens.
agree.. i saw a lot of people having the same issue but most solved it by using moto original cable but doesn't work for me sadly.
is there a log in the system itself? something like a logcat that i can take a look?

[Q] Anyone else experiencing this?

Sup my XDA'erzz... Hey so real quick is anyone experiencing issues with Android File Transfer and a Mac? I'm specifically using a Macbook Pro i& quad-core with a SSD and running OS X 10.9 Mavericks... I never had these issues with my Verizon OG HTC One 32GB... But since picking up a Verizon HTC One Max 32GB Android File Transfer refuses to work and for the life of me I can't figure out why.. If I just plug it in nothing happens unless I manually launch AFT and then I receive a message that says please connect your android device with a usb cable. If I plug it in and restart the phone it picks it up but then says can not connect to device... It's extremely annoying because I'm working on some ROMs for it and I have to constantly ADB push everything....... Not that big of deal but I'd still like to be able to mount my storage where everything is visible and can add/remove as I please.... Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys!!
Try using a different cable. Sometimes its a simple solution thats overlooked.

Did you look at what the usb phone setting is on. I know there are extra ones like modem or something or other that could prevent transfer.
I am having similar issues, the mtp file transfer mode seems to borked. I can get files from phone but not send em. I've been mounting my external sd as drive then moving the files using root explorer.
Of course.. It always shows that MTP mode is enabled but does nothing when you tap it, and also shows usb is connected on the phone but when taping that it brings up only options for internet passthrough and sharing etc...

Could be the USB 3.0 intermittent issue. Try a powered hub that is USB 2.0 as if your notebook is new enough most likely the USB ports are all 3.0.
Just saying.

Question Unable to File Transfer from Windows to Phones Internal Storage?

Whenever I attempt to connect my phone via USB to USB-C or even from USB-C to USB-C using my Windows 10 Laptop, I'm unable to select the File Transfer option. My phone immediately begins charging, and Device Manager does not detect an unknown device.
Is there a workaround to resolve this issue as I would like to place some audiobooks onto my phone that I have stored on my computer.
This has been an ongoing issue for sometime now and I'm still unable to resolve the issue myself. Hopefully someone here can help me resolve this issue as this is the first phone where I've been unable to successfully File Transfer. This feature is important for me to transfer files to and from my phone.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have the latest USB driver installed? Also using a USB 2.0 port (A to C cable) seems to work best.
Sometimes it helps enabling USB Debugging in the Developer options.
Cheers

Do you get a popup on your phone to choose between charging, file transfer, MTP, PTP etc when you connect the phone to the PC/laptop? If not, you may be lacking the correct drivers.
Also in Developer Options, have you enabled the correct USB configuration?

Thanks for your response. After downloading the latest USB Drivers and updating each and every USB Serial Bus Controller, using the latest USB drivers, it states each and every Driver is up to date.
As you can see in this image HERE, I don't have a USB 2.0 Port; Only USB Root Hub 3.0 Ports instead. Could this be the issue? And if so, how do I go about downgrading from USB 3.0 down to USB 2.0?

Yes I sure do, but whenever I attempt to select between the default option of charging over to file transfer, it immediately reverts back to charging again. Initially, I thought it may be down to me using a generic cable, but even after using the official USB-C to USB-C adapter that comes with the Pixel 6a, and the fact my laptop supports this option, I thought this may have resolved the issue. Unfortunately, neither option allows me to file transfer.

I see that you have an AMD system. By any chance is it older than a couple of years? There was an issue with USB ports on AMD PCs/Laptops some time back which, to my knowledge, was never resolved. Instead, the newer models started working alright.
Check with an Intel machine or one that has USB 2.0 ports.
are you using original cable type c cable? used to have that issue then I found out my current usb c (Xiaomi cable) is 5a,it will charge the device but very slow and wont show in device manager ..then i changed to 3a..the issue is solved..
and im using AMD Processor

You could be onto something here. Like you've stated, my laptop is older than a couple of years old, and I've had ongoing issues with my Lenovo Laptop and it's USB ports for as long as I can remember. Do you think a BIOS update could possibly resolve this issue?
It's just a little weird why it worked fine with my old Poco F1, but for whatever reason, with the Google Pixel 6a, it doesn't seem to want to play ball.
Could a possible workaround since all my Auidobooks are stored on an External HDD to simply connect my Phone to a newer PC/Laptop alongside the External HDD and copy/paste the audiobooks over if my phones internal memory is detected? If so, this maybe my only option.
Thanks for the heads up though. This is good to know as it reaffirms my initial suspicion that it may be a USB related issue with regards to this laptop than anything to do with the phone itself.

Now that you mention it, I don't think I have if my memory serves me right? Would a simple cable like the one in this link HERE do the trick? If so, I'll order one tomorrow and see whether this resolves the issue. If not, I know it must be my laptop and not the phone that's causing these issues.

I don't know about that specific cable you linked. What I do know is that people seem to have more success with A to C cables in general. I'm using an Anker A to C cable, but I don't know what model it is.

I remember reading that it was choosy in deciding which phones to work with and which phones not. In other words, it worked with some brands and did not work with others. I also remember it did not work with OnePlus.

Why not just plug the external drive directly into the phone? I do that all the time when moving .flac and .mp3 files around -- works fine.
(Though it might depend a bit on the file system the hard drive uses.)
